If booking through Expedia-beware of this place! Might look like a good price, but they charge an extra $100 for a deposit. I saw 7 other reviews claiming the same after I already booked and checked in. It felt suspicious and it took an enormous amount of effort for a receipt. A week later I still have not been reimbursed. They are running a scam on travelers!

I had a reservation for the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving and was hit with travel delays. I made a stop at Buc-ee’s and called this hotel after 11:30 at night and let the person know I was hit with travel delays and that I wouldn’t be there until after 1am. I was then told that they were already onto Thursdays business and that I wouldn’t be able to check in. I went to the Holiday Inn in Staunton VA and they were able to accommodate me with no problems and said that anytime a guest calls ahead of time on a late check in that they will check them in over the phone. I did purchase travel insurance for this trip so hopefully I’ll be getting a full refund.

Terrible experience. Front desk was rude and instead of helping with the problems they decided it was best for me and my husband to check out early. I was supposed to get a refund but instead they kept the money for the night we didn't stay. The room had a big spill in the carpet where our socks got instantly wet with a brown liquid, they do not answer the phone and leave customers waiting in the lobby for extended periods of time. I tried to add another night which is what led to me checking out early. I do not recommend this location at all they owe me like 80 dollars for the night I did not stay. I don't see me getting that back .

The room was clean and comfortable, so I got a good night's sleep. It was well furnished and functional.
The \"do not disturb\" sign was the same color as the door, so housekeeping came in two times, even though the sign was out and I didn't want any housekeeping services during my stay. There was no fruit in the breakfast bar, but the rest of the free breakfast was okay.

This was my second stay over the past few years at this location. Was not impressed this time around. A lot of sketchy people hanging around the parking lot drinking and bbq'ing in the \"designated smoking area\", loud music blasting from the room next door. Curtains were ripped and room felt run down. Smell of marijuana in the hallways.

Plus big signs warning of a $15 fine if you took any of the rather mediocre breakfast offerings back to your room.

Hot Tub and Pool did not look well maintained either.

Will not be back.

The system was down for check-in for a while. The front desk guy was curt, but that was fine. The room/bathroom was drab and not very clean. Bed was comfortable. I could hear everything going on in the room next to mine. Kids were running up and down the hallway and a strong smell of weed. Side doors worked sometimes and then other times not. For $50 a night it was fine, I just needed a place to sleep. I will stay elsewhere next time I am in town though.

The front clerk was so insulting. I've never seen anything like him. All i did was compliment the Christmas tree in the lobby and he went on and on about how we decorate dead things in this country like in our religion and how he was having to work on Thanksgiving because of it. And it went further, but that's all I'll say. I repeatedly told him i wasnt here to discuss any of that and he WOULD NOT shut up. I've never been so insulted in all my life by a person in the \"service\" industry. The toilet lid came off. I'm going to see if that is why we did not get our $150 deposit back. Also, multiple times, they claimed the card reader on the exterior door was freezing, so we had to walk all the way around to the front in the cold. Not a very good experience at all.

When checking in, the front desk gave us the wrong room type from what we reserved.When we went back to the front desk, the young man tried making excuses and when I showed him my Hotels reservation, he said it didn't matter. When I challenged him my previous experience at this hotel, he then threatened to cancel our reservation. We then said we would keep the room but asked for his name to file a complain. Then he finally changed us to the right room type. He was incredibly rude and should not be in customer service.

The room itself was clean enough, but the fridge was making a loud buzzing sound making it hard to sleep. The breakfast was okay.

Given the way the front desk treated us, we cancelled our rooms booked for the next football weekend.

This hotel experience has convinced me to stay in Christiansburg and drive to Radford than to stay here ever again. The front desk will not answer the phone even when they are there and not working with customers. They will require a $150 deposit which will be fully withdrawn and held for 10 days. They will tell you that you can pick up the receipt in the morning only to find a sign directing checkout. The staff will not come out of the office to answer questions or provide a receipt. Instead they will shut the door. The toilet in the room was cracked on the base and you have to hold onto the tub while sitting down. The room had a horrible smell.

After submintting review on quality inn I was emailed after, thanking me for review and said they will be working on resolving the issues i pointed out.

We have stayed here twice, once in Feb. and in April. I booked these stays at the same time since we were visiting our daughter at Tech and wanted to plan our hotels stays. The pictures make this hotel much nicer than in person. It’s an older hotel and while you can tell they are trying to do some minor renovations, the lack of details to cleanliness overrides the small improvements. The shortcut with painting or ensuring light fixtures and remotes work, the overflowing trash cans by the entrances, etc. make it so unappealing. The terrible breakfast (powder eggs, over/under cooked sausage), hard biscuits, cold gravy made the “free breakfast” not worth it. There was no one to be found to tell about the food. Many other guests walked away as well. We went out and paid for breakfast.

Wrecking ball needed: Although I don't expect a 5 star stay at any Quality Inn, this hotel was the worst QI I have experienced. The place is shabby, smelly (mildew, cigarette smoke, marijuana smoke) and old. I can only hope they have plans to renovate given the excellent location near the 2 universities and interstate. There is nothing healthful to eat at the breakfast: NO FRUIT OF ANY KIND. All processed cheap foods. This place is totally depressing and really put a damper on my trip to see my child at VA Tech.

I would like to start off by saying the staff was very nice. However, when I went into my room the TV didn't work, half the lights didn't work, it was dark, smelly and very dreary. I had to call the front desk about the lights, appliances and TV, as nothing worked. They kindly came to my room to plug in the TV and appliances as well as fix one light bulb, so that I would have at least some light. I would have expected that to have been done before we got there. We paid significantly more for this hotel than others in the area because of the pool, hot tub and breakfast... but the hot tub was stained and didn't work anyway, the room was old, stained and smelled terrible, and the breakfast was awful. In short, it was a big disappointment and I would not spend that kind of money there, ever again. The place needs help.

We were staying there because we were in between houses and waiting to close and move in to our new house because we were locals. We had to pay a 150 security deposit due to the local college in the area even though we definitely do not look like college students. The week we were there our room never got cleaned by house keeping I personally vacuumed the room myself 2 times because the one time the front desk acting as housekeeper came to do it he was scared of our dog - my son offered to take the dog outside the entire stay there was a struggle to get clean towels as hotel laundry was an issue same w fresh linen. The jets in the hot tub did not work so it was basically a pool of warm water the ph readings on the board at the pool did not change from the time we checked in to when we checked out so it is doubtful it was being checked breakfast was the same every morning and some mornings it looked like the gravy was what had been left over from the night before
The one lady who was supposed to be a house keeper. Was seen regularly doing yoga in and reading in the “hot tub” there were 2 days that all of the doors including the room doors did not read the keycards so outside doors remained unlocked and the poor maintenance man who also ran front desk was running like a crazy person to let patrons into their rooms

And to top off the wonderful stay we had they refused to refund the security deposit stating that the room had been smoked in me nor my son smoke

Everything was good, this is a older hotel but we were welcomed and treated fine. Looks like a lot of remodeling has been done, the rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable. The shower looked like it was new and very clean. The dining room for breakfast had been freshly redone and looked great. The outside needs a little refresh with paint on some of the woodwork but overall we had a great experience and would definitely stay again. Thanks

This place is so run down and horrible. We arrived to check in, waiting for reception to refund the family in front of us, who told me there were several cockroaches in their room. Our room did not have roaches but it was dingy and showed so much signs of wear and tear. The pictures of the property from afar seem ok but up close, the hallways and room interior was horribly run down with damage to walls and doors everywhere. I can’t take a picture of smell, but it smelled of mold and rot in our room. We checked out a day earlier because there was no way I was going to stay longer than necessary. Sleeping in my car would have been preferable

A Veteran’s Review

First and foremost, although understaffed, the entire Quality Inn staff were kind and professional. However, the bedspreads had food stains. Although the bedspread was replaced, the sheets had absorbed the food stain. The hairdryer also didn’t work, however, maintenance came by and replaced it immediately. After spending the whole day prepping our new freshman’s dorm room, we returned to discover the room wasn’t serviced after our request to freshen up the room for our second night stay. The water pressure in the shower was non-existent and the carpets in the room need serious cleaning. Specifically, i noticed when I got in the shower, my feet were leaving black footprints. I very rarely walk barefooted, wearing shoes or socks all the time. This means my bare feet were tracking dirt from the room carpet to the shower. One last comment: We would have departed a day prior, however, we had secured our reservation through hotels.com and If we had cancelled our second night, we would have paid more for one night than we had for two nights. In conclusion, although the staff was great, we plan on coming to Radford over the next four years. However, we will not be staying at this Quality Inn again.

Upon checking in they have us our room key only to enter to some man laying on the bed. Later when we went to another room the smell in the entire hotel was atrocious, entered room, turned light on to see huge hairy cockroach on pillow, urine stains in shower and hair on shower floor. Stains all over carpet in room. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!!! Needless to say, we had to sleep in our car as everywhere was sold out nearby.

The photos that are posted do not represent the current state of the facility. It is run down, loud, eerie, and dirty. The only thing I can say that’s decent was the continental breakfast but I hesitated to even try it.

So last year we stayed at a Best Western in Radford. It was terrible. Smelly hallways. Smelly room. Hallways and doors needed painting. Staff not very friendly. We swore we wouldn’t stay there again. So this year we booked a Quality Inn in Radford. Imagine our horror when we found out it’s the same place. Like a bad dream. Please don’t stay there.
