Rooms are nice and large. Staff were poorly trained but very polite. Service was very slow (15 minute gap between first and last served meal). Lots of kids which is fine if you have them - less so if adult only travel. Breakfast was mediocre quality and crowded. Pool area has limited shaded options. Not a 5 star experience.

We stayed at Angsana Teluk Bahang from 18–21 Jan for our short honeymoon, and it was a peaceful and lovely experience.

The room was beautiful and the sea view made our stay extra special and relaxing. The food was good, with a nice variety of choices available.

The staff were very nice, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay, which made the experience even better.

Overall, it was a pleasant stay and a lovely place for a short honeymoon. We wouldn’t mind coming back again.

Quite disappointed at the level and speed of service at this resort (which holds itself out as a 5 star). We are a family of three that travels a lot staying at 5 star places over the world. This place ranks bottom of the list. The room was never cleaned properly (carpet not vacuumed, counters in wiped). We stayed at a beach view suite and the electrical wiring was faulty…AC kept turning on and off by itself and the door broke on the first day, toilet clogged, lots of bugs everywhere. The worst was the speed of service at their premier restaurant (N11). We waited 90 mins the first night just to get a plate of food. Thought it might have been an unforeseen issue in the kitchen, but the second night we waited another 90 minutes to get fed. The food was incredibly salty or tasteless, never done right. Room service took 60 minutes to arrive (we asked for some water) and we had to call 3 separate times. Finally upon checkout, which was a terribly long line, the front desk didn’t know how to pull up an invoice for us to review and told us to get into another line to ask another front desk person. All in all, disappointed. The natural landscape is beautiful, but the beach is poorly maintained (broken beer glass and garbage scattered)

It’s a nicest place to stay in Pening, with a stunning swimming pool for adults separated than the one for kids. Relaxing vacation. The only issue is even if the beach is beautiful you can’t actually swim there, but then it’s the case of all beaches there.

All of them were very friendly, reception was very cheerful, gave us friendship bracelets and a room upgrade.

Clean, nice soft and huge king size bed, huge bathtub. Nice sea view from the bed itself. Only complaint was a little lack of shower gel, (cause I also probably used it for a bubble bath) given I didn’t request extra cause I was leaving anyways.

Breakfast ⭐️
The food was terrible (but again I’m a picky eater who also happens to be a Penang local) But yes, the beef pastrami tasted like a day old unwashed rag, omelette was very undercooked and under seasoned, the roti canai tasted like cardboard. The French butter was great but couldn’t save most of the food. But I must say the double shot espresso did save the day a little bit. One of the pastry was nice (it was a twist with some fruit jam in it) Fried Rice was bad (I really think they forgot to season all their eggs) Mini pancakes were edible, fried chicken was dry but fragrant. I would skip breakfast the next time and opt for a discount lol.

For me I just wanted to get away from all the hustle and bustle so it was very peaceful and quiet. The beach itself was soso but the view from the room is amazing. And the waves really soothe me and had a really good nights rest.

Didn’t managed to hit the pool as it was quite rainy and gloomy but it did seemed nice.

Overall a good experience, will be back when prices are reasonable and in need of a good nights rest.

When we check in, the staff gave us a room number 735 which is the very end of the hotel room at floor 7. When we arrived the room and realized that the room entrance is very weird which comes with additional entrance. We opened the additional entrance and it’s extremely dark and uncomfortable. We are not pleased to have this kind of room and ask for exchange. Staff is friendly enough to exchange another room for us. However the room 723 we received are not as clean as we thought. The floor is full of dust, and we even found a durian seeds on the balcony. The bed comes with ants which makes us uncomfortable. The lights also not functioning well.

Great location as long as you get a hire car, although this is not recommended for someone with limited driving experience or no experience of driving on Asian Roads. It is slightly on the outskirts but right on the beach. Check in very easy and the suite was large and very good.
And generally the hotel is very well maintained. The breakfast that comes with the suite was excellent. However the same restaurant turned into a fine dining restaurant in the evening, where the prices were high and the potions small, although the food was good. The other dining option is the buffet, we stayed during Ramadan so it was absolutely rammed in the evenings, most of the food seemed tailored to this event with very limited Western options. I also did not take to kindly to being asked if I had booked on the last night ( which nobody mentioned beforehand !) we were stuffed in a corner of the overflow dining room which spent most of it’s time as the Ballroom.
The vast majority of the staff were polite, very helpful and efficient.

Room was lovely, clean, quiet, and well organised. Service was okay outside of the room, average in the restaurant (all staff seemed to be on their first night and didn't know anything) but abysmal for service into the room. On multiple nights we tried to call room service, front desk and every number and there was just never any answer at any time after 7pm. Incredible. Each time had to go downstairs and complain to the lady on the front desk and ask why she was not answering. All she could do was mumble an apology...

If you stay here, you must book a sea view balcony room….the ocean view day and night is beautiful…since it’s on a public beach, you sometimes get firework show from the locals too. The bed is so comfortable and enough room to sleep three. We had minor problems with a clogged sink and a broken shampoo dispenser but that was quickly resolved once we notified housekeeping (A on the response and even tidied up our bed). The infinity pool and children’s pool kept everyone very happy and cool. If you only have time for one excursion, it should be a hike in the Penang National Park. For dinner, make that reservation for the shuttle to night market. It’s free round trip 6-9pm. This is important if you want to grab some souvenirs and inexpensive local Malaysian food. Breakfast at resort has a wide variety of Asian and Western dishes…but go before 8:30am or near closing time at 10:30 to avoid the long lines. Food onsite is very pricy and not necessarily everyone’s cup of tea. Speaking of Afternoon Tea….it was underwhelming. It was not quite English nor Malaysian. I left hungry….we learned to love Grab Eats and the Night Market for food. Overall, a very relaxing resort with beautiful ocean views. Only need to improve on minor details. Lastly, I wish front desk would check and ask how we are doing and if we needed anything.

We had a nice stay at Angsana in Jan 2025 in a 2br suite. Positives: Suite was large and well appointed, with comfy beds, price was reasonable, infinity pool was nice, beautiful view and F&B quality was excellent. Negatives: service was really slow at the F&B outlets (no criticism of individual staff who were lovely but there were insufficient staff / inefficient processes) resort doesn’t seem to be very well maintained with dirty / stained sun loungers, loose decking boards at pool, and we found the poolside area was not cleaned daily. Location was also a negative, there is nothing in Teluk Bahang really, so you end up in Batu Ferringhi each night for dining options. Also, the beach was dirty and swimming not recommended due to jellyfish. A stormwater drain emptied into the water right in front of the pool and we could see from our room it polluting the beach right in front of the hotel. Overall the resort was nice enough and we had a relaxing stay but it is not five star level in terms of service and maintenance of the resort, and the location means we wouldn’t return.

No restaurants within a short walk but a short grab ride can take us to many local restaurants. We were so happy trying the grilled stingray at Yu Xiang Little Kitchen. Will stay here again when visiting Penang.

This is a large popular hotel with beach access and good facilities. It is popular with families and at some times of the day feels a little “package” holiday with lots of noise from pool areas and very busy breakfast areas BUT it is possible to escape the crowd and find a space to relax. The onsite parking is good and staff are friendly. The rooms are large, clean and well maintained, bathrooms are spotless and views just lovely.

I truly enjoyed the view from our room. The carpentry and interiors were well done. I love that they have a nice long enough table for us to eat together complete with crockery and cutlery. Bathrooms are huge! And almost every part of the hotel opens out to the sea which is nice. Lastly. they have polite and hardworking housekeeping reps. Masum did a great job sweeping the sands off our floor and even took time to fold some clothes strewn around. And the concierge rep at the drop off was very friendly and helpful, think his name was Zulfi.

This is a large resort style hotel with good facilities that is popular with families at the weekend. Rooms are clean and well maintained and beds very comfortable. Perched on the beach a short drive from a number of attractions the location at the north of Penang Island is slightly less developed than elsewhere on the island. The front of house staff are friendly and helpful. As a base to explore the Angsana is ideal.

To be honest, it was a bit disappointing. The resort is beautiful and when it opened it was probably top notch. But it isn’t being looked after to the standard it aspires to.

The room wasn’t close to being clean enough for the hotel grade and the price paid. There were surface things like children’s hand prints on doors and windows but longer term issue like black mold in the shower and the high windows looked as if they hadn’t been cleaned in months. I’ve worked in a hotel and know that the cleaning staff often have the hardest job with too little time and the lowest wages, so for me this is a failure of management.

I’ve stayed in 3 hotels during my stay in Malaysia and paid the most for this one. The other 2 have exceeded my expectations, but this one disappointed. As it was my 40th Birthday I paid to upgrade to a better room but it wasn’t worth the money. It’s sad because it could be an incredible place but for me, having a clean room is one of the most important things I need from a hotel and this place just felt a bit grubby.

Great hotel for a realx vacation at the beach

Great hotel for a relax staycation at the beach. We had a room with a private balcony overlooking the beach. The breakfast buffet was really good, with a great variety of options. The infinity pool is a must. We didn't really go to the beach or swim in the ocean because of jellyfish. The staff was super friendly and always available to help us and answer our questions. We really enjoyed our stay and will definetely come back.

Able to order food in room..see sunset at hotel restauarant .hotel food really nice ..spend the evening in Georgetown.or walk into nearby Taluk Bahang..for dinner at Tai Tong..also a cat rescue beach nearby..loved Georgetown.the spice gardens..Habitat walk and train to Penang Hill..and friendly people of Penang.with ethnic mix and history og Georgetown..saw monkeys at the Botanic Gardens..and days by the pool.

I wanted to be at a place by the beach and with the view and quietness but still be able to get to the city when I wanted. Angsana gave me just that.

Breakfast buffet was amazing. So many choices but I limited myself so I can eat big lunch too lol as its Penang we are talking about!!

The room was superb, with two housekeeping daily, extremely clean and everything feels new and luxurious. Well worth the amount paid!!!

Will surely go there again in the future if I ever holiday in Penang again.

이 호텔 은 조용히 지내며 가족과 같이 오면 좋은 5성급 호텔이네요. 올림픽 싸이즈 수영장과 사람들도 별로 없어서 잿트 스키 등등 액티비티가 정말 좋고 호텔 음식도 너무 맘에 들어서 3일 에서 다시 3일 연장했어요. 모든 일하는 스탭들이 너무 친절하고 제가 먹어본중 제일 맛있는 두리안 농장이 15분 가면 있어요. 가격도 도시에서 반값에 그릭 너무 싱싱...
10분 가면 고양이 세추어리라는 곳 가서 먹이도 주고 야시장도 호텔에서 무료 픽업 써비스 하더라구요. 한번 가보세요. 방도 넓은 1베드룸은 최고에 뷰에 발코니가 있어서 너무 낭만적인 바다 소리에 행복 했어요.

We stayed here recently for 5 days on our honeymoon. The resort is well kept with multiple pools, hangout, and dining locations. If traveling back to George Town area for day-trips, allow about an hour of travel time. There isn't much within walking distance so bring supplies with you, or be prepared to travel a bit for a local market. We had a 'free mini bar' included however there is only soft drinks which you can drink once only, then have to pay for replenishment. The included buffet breakfast was awesome however, tables were slow to be cleared and re-seated resulting in long queues, even when tables were empty. Overall, I would definitely stay here again.

I recently stayed at this hotel in a two-bedroom deluxe seaview suite. The room itself was spacious and lovely. However, the long walk down the corridor to reach the lift was a bit tiring. The grey and black color theme throughout the hotel wasn't my preference. Dinner buffet at the Jendela restaurant had a limited selection, and I was disappointed to find simple items like ice cream missing from the dessert counter. This has been our favourite stay in Malaysia. The view from our room was magnificent and the pool wonderful. It’s a bit of a hike from the airport and Georgetown but if you’re looking for a bit of a staycation as well as some touristing not a bad option. I had a lovely spa treatment which was also first rate.

We took the 2 bedroom room which provided ample space for our family of 4. Housekeeping also came consistently at the same time everyday and made sure that all was spick and span. I love the little touches like the turn down service where they will come in to light up the oil burner with the scent of the day. Since it was energy saving hotel, the aircon did turn off by itself. So we had to manually turn it on as it can get too hot.

During this trip We had been staying The Face Suites and Pullman in KL but Angsana has surpassed them all as it was modern, new, luxurious and an amazingly beautiful seaview. The only point not so perfect was the hotel was so big but the gym was a bit small compared to other 5* hotels. Also it was a bit secluded. It took 40-45 minutes to get to George town. But if anyone wants a peaceful and relaxing holiday then staying at Angsana would be a perfect place

Loved my stay at Angsana. Rooms were clean and well appointed, with everything you expect from a 5 star hotel. My only complaint is that there not much to do/eat nearby, so planning and travel is needed to get to nearby towns.

Although the breakfast and dinner buffet were 6/10 at best, the service provided by the staffs were quite impressive. I had some memorable moments at Jamboree (excellent service by Mac) as well but they were a bit overwhelmed by the amount of patrons. The live band was freaking incredible (the kind where I didn’t want to leave). In particular, Haziq from the breakfast buffet, and Isahak and Amalina from the weekend dinner buffet were really amazing. I was genuinely surprised by the service they’ve provided, considering they are priced lower than some major hotel brands. Put it this way, the service I received at Jendela was more hospitable than what I’ve experienced at the Ritz-Carlton KL. The staffs at the swimming pool were very friendly as well.

However, the thing that surprised me the most is the warmth of the housekeeping team (especially Nayeem). He is very attentive and remembers tiny yet important details. Very very friendly, helpful, and warm-hearted. I’ve stayed at several Ritz, W, FS, and Sofitel properties but I’ve never had anything memorable from their housekeeping department. Nayeem really made a difference during my stay at Angsana. At this point, I would be disappointed if the management does not commend Nayeem after reading this review.

Ok for a short staycation

Room was a bit worn despite the hotel being very modern overall. Cleanliness could have been better (small blood stains on sheets missed) and under the bed was not cleaned. Breakfast was not well planned with staff unable to keep up with demand. Despite all this I do consider it good value.

A Surprise Gem

My 3 nights stay was a fantastic experience. Booked the hotel to experience Penang's natural beauty. This is definitely not for the thrill seeker traveler. It's perfect for those who are looking for a relaxing getaway. You get the privacy you need since it's at the opposite end of the island, over the hills, and close to Penang National Park's entrance. The hotel is tucked in a corner of the sleepy fishing town with its own clean beach. Getting food may be challenging (there's none directly outside the hotel), but it's worth walking down to the town's center (1km walk or you can Grab). Otherwise, hail a car through Grab down to Batu Ferringhi for food (3.3km).

The service staffs were helpful and sincere. The breakfast buffet was extensive. Two swimming pools to choose from - you will be spoilt for choice. There are a lot of lounging places. Room is fully equipped and each opens up to stunning views of the ocean. Impressed by it's e-housekeeping service - you can request for a towel easily on its digital platform and there's no need to download a special app for this.

The only downside is that the hotel's Kerongsong wing (the one with the most units) is next to a dog pound. You'll hear the dogs barking all day and night if you're out in the corridor. But don't worry, you'll hear nothing once you're in your room.

I'll definitely make a return trip.
