The breakfast buffet was great, enjoyed the pool. Staff were friendly. Rooms were nice and big. Was a little dampened due to the construction and renovation of another wing. Which we were warned about so thats no problem just not as serene as it could have been.

Hard Rock Penang was lovely, from check in, to our whole trip the staff were amazing and very welcoming. The hotel was clean and amenities were good. The breakfast was amazing, really tasty and great choice. You can also get to Ferringhi Bay from the beach which saves so much time. Great location and great stay.

The check-in process was generally smooth as we were there only after 4pm. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room condition was decent but the water pressure at the shower was rather low and it wasn’t very hot. The bottled shower gel, shampoo etc was very hard to use, only a small amount comes out with every pump.

We use the spa service during the stay and the experience was good. Like the hut by the beach as we could hear the waves while having the treatment done.

Buffet Breakfast varieties were impressive but quality of certain stations such as the juices was rather disappointing.

Very enjoyable stay. Obviously very busy with the start of school holidays in Malaysia and lots of visitors but still managed to find little areas of peace & sunbeds by the pool!

Staff all excellent and friendly - common areas clean and enjoyable to relax in.

Facilities good - the main restaurant and \"Pizzeria\" very clean, good food & lovely staff.

Swimming pools good with areas for families (ie kids) and adults. Splash area was looking a little worn with the underfoot surface degraded but not unexpected considering the heavy use.

Breakfast amazing. Good quality and enough to go round even when it was at its most craziest! Only thing I'll say is please make more teh tarik - it always ran out by 9am and no top up.

Room great (we had a seaview) - large clean and had all the storage we needed and amenities (two bottles of water a day & tea/ coffee making facility). TV entertainment brilliant with plenty of movies and TV shows available.

Overall very happy and look forward to staying again!

I went with my seven year old daughter and she loved the pool with slides and the very well organized Kids club. I found the food to be just so so but it is easy enough to order from Grab. Staff is friendly enough although the deposit and payment system could be easier. I would definitely recommend for families with children who need entertainment. Also very close to Escape Penang

Nice modern hotel over looking the sea, was disappointed not to see clear blue sea as apparently they have removed a lot of sand in the sea and now its more murky so you don't know what's in the warer need to be careful of the jelly fish.
The hotel reception staff were friendly smooth check in, nice room comfortable bed and good shower.
Breakfast could get very busy, good selection to eat staff some days were too busy to greet you, around the pool at certain times of day you could hear the noise from children great for fanilues not so good for couples but some quiet sun bsthing areas to get away from it. The pool life guats was very good helped recommend thibgs to do Feetrah? Sorr

The Hard Rock hotel Penang is starting to show its age. Overall is a good hotel that needs a lot of maintenance in the rooms and swimming pool. Staff were brilliant and with the exception of breakfast was really good. Breakfast tends to cater more for Asian guests, beef bacon or turkey ham just doesn’t cut it.

The room we were first given was dirty and the door was broken in the bathroom. The hotel moved us to the fartherest room from the entrance making our walk to and from extremely long. The staff tried to make our stay comfortable after that but we were already disappointed. It is a good place for young parents with small children. Pool is very nice and the beach is strange and full of jelly fish.

My view is that there are a few areas of improvement

Food quality : I think the breakfast spread is very limited and the quality is extremely low. I hope the management can charge some incremental money and improve the quality of food. Overall the food options needs to be bolstered a bit for room dining as well. Having travelled to many countries and having stayed in the best of 5 star hotels to boutique hotels, this is the only hotel where I saw stale fruits being served on multiple days. That’s just simply not acceptable

Quality of rooms: needs some refurbishment, looks a bit dated, door safety latch was broken, curtains seem to have some kinda mold in them. On a couple of ocassions in the pool area, they ran out of towels.

Staff: staff was helpful and did their job well

This feedback is for the people who are in the management roles so that they can look into these areas.

Overall I would rate this property as a 3.5-4 star at best and if simply put it has a quite a few yards to cover before it can truly be considered as a 5 star property.

Is not what I have expected - especially during breakfast, kids carry drinks around and wet the floor which is dangerous for elderly - but no one clean up.

This was my second stay at the HRP the first being excellent, but this time around we were disappointed in our room. The bedding had a damp feel to it which was quickly changed by staff. However the room in general felt and smelt damp. May be the hotel is suffering from water damage. Must say it was totally the opposite to our stay 6 months earlier in a different part of the hotel. Hotel is undergoing renovation to entrance foyer which is looking fantastic. Staff are amazing just disappointed in the musky damp condition of the room.

We will definitely come back here. The hotel has everything- waterpark, swimming pool, resto, cafe and bar. The beach is just outside the gate and there’s a lot of water sports. What we don’t like was the noise due to ongoing renovation. But overall, we had fun specially my 11 year- old son.

I booked a sea view room. But surprisingly it face the swimming pool as well. And the music is so loud since 9am. Kids shouting, perhaps the sound acoustic could be better.
Breakfast department is utterly disappointing. Staffs are no manner, rude, no mask, dirty, choices are limited.
Room is acceptable, the build in heater is not functioning well. Sometimes hot and sometimes cold.
After all not worth the price.

Loved the room and area around. Walking distance to a wonderful view of the sea. Walking distance to shops. Had super good time with Hotel's live band show and also in the Cafe. There is bus top just outside the hotel. Very convenient to go anywhere around Penang. Just RM2.70 to go town. Breakfast was nice with hot beverages. Came with my husband. Will definitely plan a trip here again with my kids. Wonderful place to be especially if you have young/teenage kids.

Booked 3 rooms in March 2022 and the check-in process took longer than usual with queue more than 30 minutes. Although virtual queue was given but the waiting time is unpleasantly long.

Upgraded from Mountain View to Pool view for one of my room and Pool view to Seaview room. Since we were allocated to 2nd and 3rd floor and we could not really see the \"sea\" view and one of the \"pool\" view room is blocked. Would advise to check with the staff before confirming the room.

Some rooms with bathtub and some rooms without. The design of water faucet is extremely unfriendly to use especially to set the correct temperature. Hot water and cold water are separated and the hot water faucet is extremely tight.

The towels are wrapped in plastic bags and the hotel room is clean.

There are free live channels including sports channel and free movies in the room.

My bedlinen has several holes in it.

Breakfast was OK.

We had a 1night staycation for my daughter’s birthday. The hotel was ok as far as standard hotel amenities, but it was clean and the staff were super nice.

We had dinner at the HRC. It was a bit overpriced, which is not surprising, and the food was good and bad. For example, the nachos were good (cheese, diced tomatoes and jalapeños) but the beans were sweet. For the black pepper beef, the beef was really tasty but the rice was hard like from the day before. The pool is nice, especially for kids <10. Overall a nice stay.

Good hotel but you need to realized that you would have to compromise some of your 5 star expectations.
It is a very family friendly hotel, with great pools and slides for kids.
Due to Covid-19 the hotel takes really good measures to keep you safe: they sanitize all arriving luggage, check everyone's temperature daily, make all wear masks.
On the other side due to it they do NOT have daily room cleaning by default (and it is a 5 star hotel). You must ask about it at the reception, and they don't tell this to you in advance, nor there is any sign about it. It took us 2 days to realise it.
The rooms are equipped with either king size bed or single beds (approx 120 cm wide). So double beds (as mention when you book it) are NOT vailable. It was sensitive for me as we were travelling as a family of 3 and ended up renting an extra bed.
The food is good but shall you decide to order in the lobby or to the pool most of it will be served in a paper box, sort of fast food style.
There are no bathrobes in rooms and the sign hidden inside of the wardrobe says you must ask for it specifically.
I had shower broken in my room and ask 4-5 times during 2-3 days to have it fixed, never happened.
In some corridors there is steady smoke smell even though smoking is prohibited in rooms.
The beach with great white sand is just outside of hotel gate with the sea only 50 meters away.
Overall it is a good hotel, which used to be 5 star sometime ago.

Although the room is simple but the pool is awesome. Huge pool with underwater music, attentive staffs. Quick and simple check in process and the hotel was kind to provide to care kits with mask and sanitizer during this pandemic period. Definitely score in providing great service to customers and winning their heart!

Room wasn't ready despite arriving at almost 5pm (check-in time supposed to be 3pm). Window was practically blocked by the roof of the adjacent building. Property is starting to show it's age and F&B options are also not as good as newer Hard Rock e.g. Desaru. Saving grace came from the staff we were fantastic.

The staff at the Hard Rock go above and beyond to take care of guests's needs and are so polite, thoughtful, organized, and friendly. The breakfast is outstanding, with a wide variety of choices for every taste, including options for vegetarians. The room was very comfortable and clean and comes with the option to have the sheets and towels replaced daily or not, at the preference of the guest; in the mini-bar, there is free bottled water replaced daily, but all other options such as beer and snacks are for a reasonable fee. The pool is beautiful and has music playing under the water. The only thing to keep in mind is that there can be a lot of children in the pool and there is not a section for adults only, so if total quiet in a kid-free zone is something that you want, this may not be the best choice for you. Additionally, while there is plenty of seating around the pool, there are no chaise lounges out on the beach. Renting a cabana is a great idea -- they have ceiling fans inside for extra comfort, for 60 ringgit for the day, it is an inexpensive option, especially since it comes with a giant platter of sliced fresh fruit. Great stay, overall.

We have chosen to stay at hardrock hotel as for its location and our previous experience in other hardrock branches.
The location is great just beside the beach and a 15 min walk to the batu ferringhi night market, massage centers, mcdonald and some great restaurants nearby.
The room was great, spacious, clean and with a good view of the sea.
The only downside was the service by the restaurants staffs which showed lack of training and lack of staffs to handle the number of visitors specially during rush hours.
The breakfast at main lobby lounge was great but the one at pizzaeria was simply very disappointing.
Other than that we hope to return and see the improvements.
