Hotel was great and good value for money but building starting to show signs of lack of investment. Breakfast was nice but for such a large hotel would expect more options espically when full on weekend. Nice being outside of city centre but bus out the front gets you into town centre 15 - 20 minutes. Great staff

It took a while to receive my towel, so I couldn't take a shower till then. Also bathtub was there, but no hot water. Other than that, the view was great, very spacious, and especially the beach bar was awesome at night.

I don’t know how it’s get 4 star, when you came off the elevator at 10th floor no air conditioning working and floor was very bad smells, walking to your room wall has mold and inside the room when you flash the toilet sound like alarm for few minutes, side of bathtub has black mold, unbelievable 4 star hotel ???

We were very aware that the property is needing a refurbishment and this is reflected in the price. We rarely bothered with breakfast as the quality was not overly good, but again we knew that. The pool is beautiful and the pool and groundsmen pretty good when not arguing with private apartment guests over sun beds (apparently they are not allowed to use). No complaints about the cleanliness and the location is perfect for exploring the island. Right up until the last day we would have considered returning. However, the incompetence and rudeness of reception staff put that very firmly out of our minds.

On Friday evening I approached reception to enquire about a late check out on Sunday. A very pleasant member of staff advised me that there was no need to pay for an extension as this was free to longer term guests (2 weeks). We were very happy with this. On Saturday I returned again to reception just to confirm our departure time. We were advised that no such request had been made. And, to be honest were spoken to quite badly, although eventually the staff member did begrudgingly confirm.

Today, whilst I was leisurely soaking in the bath, there was a hard angry banging on the door. My husband answered and was faced with another member of reception staff and ‘security’ demanding to know why we hadn’t check out.

I felt like a criminal and we decided to get out as early as possible, leaving for the airport 5 hours before required.

We don't feel safe at this property . Anyone can use the elevator and even general public can use the pool . Lots of water everywhere on the floor at the corridor leading to the elevator . In afternoon, you see a lot of families from outside come to use the pool- those people are general public . The whole place is dated, it needs a makeover badly .

The room provided had a damage in the main door which posed a security concern, hence my room was changed after a day. The new room provided had the safe locker in a locked condition. Although it was a simple fix for security, it took a day to unlock it. Wifi signal in the room was very bad.
The water was not hot, it was barely warm.
I checked out a day earlier than planned, the hotel refused to provide a checkout acknowledgement. I had to interact with several people at the reception, only one lady was helpful. Name available if needed.

This was the the ninth time I have stayed at Paradise, but the first since 2012. In many respects it has changed but the it wold be unfair to be too harsh as the pandemic will have had a significant affect, which is probably the reason the poolside bar is no longer open and many shops have closed. It was disappointing not to be able to buy snack food and a beer at lunchtime but there are many shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. In previous years we travelled in the European winter months and the hotel was catering for the European market, this no longer seems to be the case and standards have changed. On balance I would continue to stay at Rainbow but I feel that if you are looking for a beach side hotel up to European standards you may be disappointed. For example, they only had six (uncomfortable) sun loungers and they were the same ones that they had in 2003 - all others are in need of repair. There is also limited seating around the pool. They need to work to improve the offering. One positive change is the introduction of Laguna Bay beach bar on site in the evenings which gave the place some atmosphere.

Poor breakfast, very limited variety, only nasi lemak, fried noddles, bread. Dont have fruit, eggs station etc. My room got interfloor leaking problem and shower not working well. Got 1 day no room make up out of my 3 days stay. Not going to stay this place again for my future trip to penang.

Great beach family stay

Great hotel for the price. My family and I enjoyed everything about our stay here except the breakfast. Here are the positives: nice pool and beach area, pleasant and hlepful staff, and a spacious room. Two suggestions are to improve the taste of the breakfast and offer kitchen accessories for the kitchen and dining area. We would stay here again for sure. Our daughter enjoyed roaming and playing around the hotel area.

Great in parts.

The hotel is a nice stay, but is showing signs of age. The staff are helpful and friendly and make up for a lot of deficiencies. The breakfast is good. The wifi not so good.

The hotel is in a good position in Tanjung Bungah with some nice restaurants within walking distance. Beware of weekends when all the locals converge and the lifts and services become near impossible. Stay Monday to Friday and there are few problems.

If is a Nice place to spent your vacation. Big clean room, staf is friendly.. and helpfull. It could happend that there is a special national hollyday, many people come to thuis hotel. The hotel is very busy many guest having breakfast at one time. There is nog enought tables for having your breakfast. If you came littlebit late, the breakfast is allmost finished .

This hotel has the most wonderful location right on Tanjung Bungah beach, however the sea is not recommended for swimming due to the jellyfish. There is a lovely swimming pool, and surrounding area is perfect for sunbathing.

Worst Breakfast anywhere.

We stayed in a one bedroom suite which has been renovated the bathroom needs some improvements the shower is over the bath there needs to be some sort of grab rail to assist you to get in and out of the tub.
The breakfast is a joke with no changes to the very few items on the western menu stale cereals and the hot foods were all cold thank goodness for Tesco supermarket where we found some better cereals.
If this hotel does not want wesern customers they should say so.

The view was amazing, as my title suggests. But nothing else to say really. The food was sub par.. the breakfast was highly disappointing. The best thing about it was the cereal and bread. Everything else was just below average.

The bed was comfy and room was spacious, but SO DATED.. everything needs a major upgrade. The hallways and lifts smelled funky because the hotel is soooo old. It's the smell of old carpets. I would not go back I guess..

Often use this excellent hotel,... for its good value/service etc ! This time i lost my room key.!..dont know where or when ..but hotel was understanding and assisted me in unsuccessful search for it!
Of course...they did not return my 100RM.. room deposite!!, and I was not too unhappy to pay an extra Rm50. fully ..understan ding the cost, and need to replace it!
I shall use this hotel again!

Not bad for a few days...but not longer.

THe area is nice for lots of different dining choices. There's a local market not too far, plus nice Lebanese, middle Eastern, German, Bulgarian, Chinese food and more. The beach attached to hotel is quite small and a bit dirty, with rough tides and waves. Seems to be jet-skis for rent nearby. The pool looked quite clean and inviting. Many families and kids were enjoying it during my stay. My room was quite dated, with worn out carpets, a bit of a smell (musty), and a toilet that required repair during my stay. The shower and sink had hot water, which was a plus, but the tub and sink were also quite stained with mildew. The front desk staff were very nice and offered plenty of help finding good food and transport. The balcony had a great view (from the 12th floor). Overall, a nice stay, but the place needs to be fixed up and cleaned.

we wanted to book a candle light dinner for the 13th June and was made to make at the least 5 calls and eventually had to personally go down to make the resvn.The poster in the lift was misleading..includes a bottle of wine/champagne and despite telling them, they poster was not changed even at the point of our checkout! The main course of fatty sirloin steak n tough lamb was our last straw on that night..but thanks to the staff, fish was replaced as an alternative. The view on the beachfront during our wedding anniversary dinner saved the day.

Slight distruption during check in. Booked room with breakfast for 6 but was told breakfast only for 4. Allocate a room at level 13 with a spoilt room door - was stuck in the room and managed to open door. Requested to change room. Moved to level 14, room with no bedroom slippers and toiletries like toothbrush and toothpaste, master bedroom toilet flush not functioning properly, air conditioning at living room repeatedly auto shut. Overall experience not really fantastic.

We had a great room facing the beach. We got a deluxe suite for our family of six. We needed to order another bed for the room to fit all of us. One child slept on the couch. We could see beautiful sunrises and sunsets from our balcony. Right on the beach. Convenient to lots of sightseeing.
