Staying 4 days (3 nights) here with my family for holidays. My room was spacious, clean, and quiet with a superb sea view! The hotel staffs were very helpful. The rate was also very competitive. Direct access to a beautiful and natural white-sand beach with many water activities. A pool with playground. It has provided plentiful free carparks. The dishes (ordered fried chicken chops and fried rice) at the hotel cafe are excellent! Astaka food court is within walking distance.

Was very quiet when we stayed. Pool is nice. Breakfast was the same for 2 days then the it was changed on the 3rd day we only stayed z3 days. There is an egg station and soup station. Western and Malaysian is served. Bed was a little hard to my liking. Room was big. Best thing was the shower had hot water and lots of pressure. No smoking at the pool is a bonus. Walking distance to a few restaurants and the Tuesday night market. Make sure you walk to the Clay Pot Restaurant so good and reasonably priced. Took the local bus to the butterfly sanctuary 4 rim so cheap. The area is very quiet so might not suit everyone. Georgetown had more to do.

The hotel has a 3 bedroom apartment with 3 bathrooms which is a rare find. The apartment is tastefully decorated and has an amazing view of the ocean. Whilst it has a dining table for 6, there is no kitchenette except for a bar fridge & tea/coffee and kettle in the master bedroom.
Downside is that it gets quite noisy at night from the beach bar next door. In addition, the breakfast buffet spread isn't great in terms of choice and taste. Also worth noting that the spa has been closed for years.

I can’t recommend this facility too highly, I am a frequent traveller and expect to be taken care of when I pay. Everything I requested was supplied without delay. Pretty close to 10 out of 10. Oh, the bed was amazing. Thanks Flamingo I will be back.

Relaxing stay at Flamingo

Seaview rooms makes it a worthwhile stay and a beach front that’s attached to the hotel is a game changer. Near to local food offerings thus not having to go to town for meals makes for a relaxing vacation.
Pool is sizeable though it's cleaning hours from 11 to 12pm was annoying but understandable due to fully clothed families using the pool thus cleaning up is necessary for other serious swimmers.
Special note to reception staff who gave impeccable service, especially the hotel Duty Manager Amirul.
Worth a repeat visit.

Hotel was extremely dated and not kept clean at all. From ants to cigarette butts in the sink to grime and mold on the shower and hairdryer it was incredibly unpleasant. Also the spa has been closed for 2 years but the site said \"spa\". Breakfast buffet was inedible , room service food was terrible. There are better hotels nearby for similar prices

The property itself looks good on the outside, but inside was clearly way out dated. The rooms smells of mildew and out dated air condition. It was not cold or it was noisy. The washrooms are old and has tiny ants everywhere, and they bite. This place needs a desperate renovation. I would not recommend this property.

Not bad for 2 nights stay!

Overall it was a satisfactory stay in this hotel. Mr Ragu was very helpful upon my check in. Facilities and amenities are just average satisfaction. The F&B took almost 45minutes to send my 1 Fried Rice lunch meal for room service. I believe it should be better service for the next days ahead.
Luckily the hotel location is nearby with malls and convenient stores and mamak restaurants.

This is an older but beautiful 17-story hotel on the beach in Tanjung Bungah. The rooms were spacious, clean, without smells or bugs. The views of the coast are beautiful. It was relatively quiet. Beautiful pool and above average beach. Service was good. The price was good value for money. Restaurant downstairs a bit pricey compared to food you can get outside.

Good location, easy access with a 20 minute bus ride in to Georgetown and lots of international restaurants just a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. The ocean view from the room was stunning but the lifts were smelly and the rooms had a hint of a moldy smell. The pool was super cool even though we just dipped our toes in it because of hygienic reasons - the pool was full of people with just normal shorts and T-shirts... Service was ok but the food at the restaurant was below average.

Started well with a great welcome from reception. Check in was quick and easy but I was unaware that a 200RM deposit was needed, which would have been fine if I remembered my card PIN so I had to use cash of which I only had a little to start with.
The room had a sea view and was large and spacious with a lovely balcony, no complaints about the room.
Pool area and immediate beach area didn't get the sun until late morning / early afternoon. I didn't use the pool but it looked clean and well kept, pity about the sun loungers many of which were in poor condition.
Breakfast had a good selection and plenty was available on the first day of my stay, however over the coming weekend it wasn't so good. There were not enough tables outside and I was stuck under a tree with many birds sitting there ready to grab your food (or worse! ). As for service / food, tables were slow to be cleared. there was often not enough food and it was slow to be topped up, despite many staff! At one point there were cups but no coffee, then I had coffee but there were no cups. I also witnessed guests picking up food with their hands and then placing it back.
Bar service was ok, the pool bar didn't seem to be very aware at one point and cocktails were poor for the money.
I did have a strange experience where I had to go to reception to 'top up' my deposit mid stay!
Staff were very friendly and I'd definitely stay here again.

Very disappointed that there were no chairs on the balcony. When we requested chairs we were told we couldn't have them as it wasn't a sea view room, only partial sea view. I feel that it is very sad that in a hotel of this size they couldn't provide two chairs to guests that are staying for 13 nights.It doesn't make you feel like a valued guest.

1. The aircondition at room number 1115 was leakage and the water over flow from the aircondition at infront of our toilet.
2. Breakfast only provide nasi lemak since mee hoon finish already and need to wait for another batch, out of glass and not enough sit to accomodate all the guest hotel.

Great value with some caveats, but has a lot of potential with some small touches.

LOCATION: It's not near the major tourist spots, but is on the beach and has a bus stop to Batu Feringhi or Georgetown right in front. The nearby restaurants are overpriced and mediocre quality food.

ROOM: Room was huge with beautiful views, bidet, hair dryer, iron, and good shower. It was clean, however, as with all Penang hotels I stayed in there was a small bit of mold in the bathroom. The wifi was fast and reliable.

AMENITIES: The breakfast didn't seem really worthwhile, but having a drink and snacks at the pool was very nice. The small fitness center has free weights and a couple machines.

SERVICE: It's worth noting, nearly everyone in the hotel seemed unhappy to work there, or was a bit rude especially at breakfast. I am guessing the management doesn't care about the business or is mistreating the staff. There are a host of modest aesthetic maintenance fixes that would great improve the value of the hotel like repainting the rooms, railings, replacing bad quality CFL lights with LED, varnishing old wood that would would make guests feel like they're staying at a top hotel.
