We had a great 3 night stay. The room was lovely with a balcony and great sunset views. There was a large selection of food at breakfast, although no proper decaf coffee available (only instant). The gym was good but quite warm despite the air conditioning. Staff were all very friendly.

Great room. Very big. Staff was super friendly. Wish the spa was more accommodating do walk ins. And the breakfast rush had more workers to cook for the huge amount of guests constantly waiting on food to cook. Pool was good hard to find a liunge chair. People leave towles on them not knowing if they are occupied or not. Staff should control that issue better.

Fabulous hotel in a great location. Relaxed atmosphere but staff really attentive and happy to help. Room allocated was great, spacious and good cleanliness and facilities. Wi-Fi was poor however on both mine and husbands phones. Pool and gardens were excellent, no problem with sunbeds although a lot were reserved before breakfast. Fresh iced water available at multiple stations around the pool which was a great idea. The breakfast was excellent - lots of choice, good quality and in a great setting. Would it hesitate to visit this hotel again.

The Parkroyal Hotel in Penang holds a special place in my heart simply because my family has been staying there for the last 30+ years. I have many fond memories of this place.

That being said, my recent visit to the Parkroyal left me sorely disappointed.

Spa; I had emailed the Spa to book ahead of time what my mother and myself wanted however nobody got back to us. When I then followed this up with a phone call, the therapist couldn’t understand that I was calling from abroad even though I had stated at this very clearly in both English and in Malay. When we had our treatments It was great. Noor my therapist was very adept in the session. However, I wasn’t so impressed with the dead cockroach that greeted me in the bathroom.

Reception; we had booked two rooms-a premier room and a suite. For some reason I had to request that my payment for the suite be done when I checked in. Gowri wanted to do it after. She then billed me incorrectedly and had to do another transaction. When I was checking out, I came twice to clear out my charges and when I asked if there was anything else, Gowri said no. Two hours later when I’m out of Penang I get a WhatsApp message asking me if they could charge my credit card because they forgot to charge me the heritage tax. What’s the point of me coming in daily to clear out my charges if you’re going to then pull a stunt like this?

I’ll be back in Penang this April and I’m hoping the hotel would be more organized and efficient.

Spotless room' great view. Staff were really kind and helpful. Pools were great, our 11 year old really enjoyed the slides. Food was delicious, and breakfast was mind-blowing, such a selection. Overall we were really pleased with our visit and would definitely stay again.

Felt like the room was a bit outdated and could have used some maintenance. The facilities were fine though the pools were quite small and because so many families with small kids were there, it wasn’t a relaxing place to go. But the breakfast was good, the lounge was great, and the staff were friendly and awesome.

The hotel was magnificent. We paid a little extra for a suite and it was well worth it. The staff were always so polite and friendly. Couldn’t fault it. If you are going to stay in Penang make sure you stay at the Park Royal.

Direct access to private beach area was very pleasant, the pool area was very well kept, spacious and comfortable. Great amenities available and the gym was very well equipped and well maintained. Super friendly and helpful staff.The hotel is lovely, needs a bit of updating perhaps but we really enjoyed our stay.The main hotel’s business are conferences of all sort so you might prepare yourself for that aspect of it but didn’t bother us apart from one occasion when the entertainment was trying the music equipment and it was super loud but my concerns were listened to and the issue was resolved.

The shower was lovely with plenty of hot water and powerful.
Breakfast was very plentiful with a wide variery of foods.

It was all flower and rainbow the moment we arrived with a quick greetings from the bell services, the security guard that guide properly where to park the car for the night, the surprised voucher for birthday drinks, the pool and the beach. Woke up the next day with amazing spread of breakfast buffet.

Thinking I had made a request for late check out at 3pm with charges, decided to have a little more fun in the pool, that is until the front desk alerted that we already late for check out. Immediately went to reception to clarify about my late check out request with charges applied but only being told it is not in the system.

Amazing village tour with Sheik! It was highly informative regarding land use, nature, and nature’s medicine. Also met a few lovely villagers who were ever so kind in sharing their garden’s ubat, and introduced me to their friendly & beautiful kitties! And then there was Fauzi with his incredible knowledge of the tides, how to foretell a tsunami, and botany. Overall a great stay!

A week in Paradise

A great hotel albeit food prices are quite high but quality is good. If you like a drink you can get alcohol but again it can be pricey. The staff a re very friendly and helpful. Housekeeping are brilliant and Afzal kept are room in fine form. There is a lot of wildlife in the gardens. The breakfast is an unbelievable experience with food choices for every nation. We ate out at night using various vendors and never had a bad meal. The main pool is an absolute picture as is the Beach where you can take a boat to monkey beach or take a swim.

Thoroughly enjoyed watching sunset by the beach and had a lovely entertainment by Fire Hunter . Enjoyed our late evening drink at Sunset beach bar . Enjoyed my spa treatment and very pleased to get 20% discount for our Italian dinner at Gustaso .The para sailing was a amazing experience

Whatever expectations I had were met and exceeded beyond my imagination. I really enjoyed my stay at the Park Royal resort in Penang. The staff is very warm and welcoming and so very helpful, especially Osman and Ali. The property is gorgeous and is very well kept. I definitely will come back to the Park Royal resort anytime I’m in Penang. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

It is located in a walkable distance to attractions such as the night market, local souvenir stores and cafe. Check in was very slow. The breakfast buffet had a huge selection of foods but the crowd was very large. There were too many people getting foods and the staff couldn't replenish the food fast enough. The staff was excellent and they always did their best. We had three people staying in a room and the staff came to put down bed sheets and comforter on the day bed for us upon request.

Very luxurious hotel

The hotel is very luxurious. Upon check in, we were greeted with a welcome drink. I didn’t the room was a family suite. The bedroom was huge and there were 2 bathrooms. The suite was too big for the two of us. However we really enjoyed our stay there. We could ask for bottled water anytime for free. We felt that we were being pampered by the staff. I definitely recommend this hotel.

Very good location per se, but bit far from most places. It's a resort, great for family and elderly. Not that great for singles or friends.

Breakfast was ok initially, but last couple of days it deteriorated with most items running out

Property is decent and room are fine. Very friendly staff, though reception staff are not that great with English, at times.

Under my circumstances the hotel was beautiful. Careful in the sun. I got a little sunburned because of a lack of enough umbrellas. But great place. Prices in bar and restaurants a bit high. Guess they figure if you can pay for the place, you won't mind the prices. Breakfast buffet was awesome. Staff incredibly friendly

The staff really make this hotel something special. Everyone wr met was kind and friendly and made us feel very welcome.
Unfortunately, we had two very had nights sleep, but this was due to four adjacent rooms being shared by a large familywho had no respect for other guests and allowed their children race screaming along the corridor unitl after midnight whilst the adults had a party slamming doors with loud conversations in the corridor. The hotel was very proactive and professionally dealt with the issue.
We visited a well known hotel up the road and found the Park Royal to be a far better hotel!
We would love to return and would recommend staying at the Park Royal

A fabulous resort all round…Can not fault. We spent New Years Eve here and had such a fun time, the atmosphere was amazing and the little note, party goodies left in our room on NYE was a very nice touch. A resort I will definitely return to in future😊

Very clean and well maintained property. Professional staff but not very knowledgeable and could not answer most of our questions. Not a good place for couples or solo travelers as it is EXTREMELY family oriented. Unfortunately we could never use the swimming pool because it was constantly overrun with screaming children. Breakfast buffet was very good

Amazing family friendly hotel, the team at kids club and pool area really go above and beyond Shiek (towel area at the pool) and his wonderful handmade toys always showing the kids cool things, the lovely team at kids club Norliza, Mariam, zubaidan & Renugaa made the kids adore kids club so that parents got a break and could head out for a massage! Thanks team

Oh and the water slides were a huge win!

Absolutely amazing stay at Park Royal! Family room was spacious and very clean. Service was always quick, despite it being super busy.
Breakfast was sometimes too crowded and required long wait times. This was sometimes difficult with young children. They should perhaps think about opening up additional places for breakfast to make it easier for guests.

Not a five star, good pool for children

We were charged a full day rate for half a day stay. The hotel then tried to charge me more than the full rate, even with confirmation of how much it’s supposed to be.

The front of house team let down the rest of the staff.

My family enjoyed the pool areas, however, there was never enough loungers near the pool in order to watch the children.

The kids club had nice staff and also the tour desk, there was a very nice lady.

Very wonderful experience in the hotel. All staff in the hotel are very polite and with prompt response. The choice of breakfast buffet is perfect! I hope the service quality and the newness of the property can be maintained in future.
One point is the swimming pool is not big as I imagine as I see the pictures of the hotel.
