The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our favorite part was the location: being steps away from the walking street but having a nice pool area to come back to. The kids pool had slides and there was a very convenient spa. There was truly something for everyone in the family to enjoy. The breakfast buffet also had many options. We will definitely return!

I booked a double room with ocean view. When I arrived it was a king bed. They switched me to another room next day with double bed, but it was not ocean view. It’s barely a partial ocean view.

The exercise room is great! Pools are very nice… no of the three pools. It would’ve been nice to have one that was adults only. Rooms are very clean and have all the amenities. Staff was very helpful and friendly. I would return to this hotel.

Honestly, I’m gonna start off by saying that my friend and I were really looking forward to staying at this hotel. From reading all the reviews, we expected a great stay—but what awaited us at this resort left me wishing I had never stayed there, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

To briefly summarize:
Good: Housekeeping staff are kind, breakfast is great, and the resort is relatively clean.
Cons: All the “in-room amenities” like slippers, pillows, and blankets are outdated, with yellow stains. Reception is the worst I’ve ever experienced.

Now, Day 1: we arrive at the resort, and right off the bat, the guy at reception is ridiculously rude—just passive-aggressive for no reason. We arrived a little early and asked whether we could check in early. He immediately said “no” without even checking whether the rooms were ready. My friend and I let it go.

We came back at 3 PM, checked in, and left our stuff before heading out for a walk for about two hours. When we returned, the room was insanely humid—the blankets, pillows, and bedding were fully damp, our clothes in the suitcases were moist, and even my passport in my bag had started to wrinkle. We immediately called reception, and they sent housekeeping to change the bedding.

The housekeeping guy came and started changing one bed, but we stopped him because we realized the AC wasn’t working properly—so having him change both beds only for them to get damp again in ten minutes made no sense. The housekeeping staff also no

Room was decent. Big resort, so if you are going to frequent the pool, then get a room closer to one of the pools. Food is expensive, but good quality. Plenty of cheaper options right outside the resort. Drinks too are pretty expensive.

We had an amazing stay at Centara Karon Resort! The staff were absolutely fantastic, so kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. The facilities were excellent, and the location was perfect, close to everything we needed.

Throughout our trip, our daughter unfortunately became unwell, and the staff went above and beyond to help us in every possible way. Their compassion and support meant the world to us, and we are truly grateful.

We highly recommend this resort to everyone and will definitely be coming back. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. 💛

A fantastic hotel delivering great service. My family and I made plans to spend our week in Phuket sightseeing, but ended up spending much of that time at the hotel. Excellent facilities for the young ones, particularly the kids' club; the staff there were amazing.

Hotel's location is great; restaurants/entertainment all within walking distance including a very clean beach. Highly recommended.

Overall with good experience but the room is quite small when you accommodate with toddler. Kids facilities are great, love the kids pool, kids club and kids menu. Really good hotel

Everything was excellent, the location, which is close to shops and restaurants, the service, the atmosphere, activities for children. The only thing that bothered me during my stay at the hotel was the smell in the room, which was moldy. The employees tried to spray odors, but the smell kept coming back.

The property is tried, hallways to the rooms feel old and dirty. Horrendous building work going on which we hadn’t been informed of, full of families, breakfast was an absolute disaster, tables not being cleared, some days there were no tables at all and we had to sit at the bar. As no one has a clue what’s going on.
Not the experience we expected. Would definitely not recommend this property.

Hotel was clean apart from the pools, they obviously had problems with the filtering because they had temporary filtering systems in place. Be aware you cannot enter your room until 3pm no matter what time you arrive. There is a construction site next to pool one, it’s very noisy and at one point a wooden tree branch come flying over the fence and just missed my husband. Very disappointing, however if the pools were cleaner and there had been no construction site, it would of been a nice place to stay, it’s very central to Karon beach with plenty of bars and restaurants.

Thls hotel has a major sewerage smell problem. The stench in my room was mild at first but then became so bad I woke feeling ill. I could taste the smell in my mouth,
Revolting.
Only after me complaining 4 times did management take any action. The put an oil burner in my room to mask the smell. One candle and it went out. Smell returned.
New room offered on my last night,
Other guest also said they had same issue.

Very well location at the heart of Karon and super close to Kata beach! The hotel has amazing design, very minimalist ans eco friendly however it has thin walls. They should consider putting families with kids at a certain wing rather than mixed with other adults because you can hear everything from rooms next door or below. Otherwise this hotel is greaf; they do amazing bbqs for the guests, vast choices of breakfast, value for money AND the staff are super kind. Thanks!

Overall this hotel is good. And even though it is still being built. It’s not an issue. It just isn’t very pretty in some places but all the bits that count are nice.
I think the overall gripes with this hotel is the general cleanliness. The pool area and general surroundings need a regular clean. The room was cleaned well but there was always plates etc outside peoples room that stayed there for days at a time. And then a lot of the staff all felt very young and inexperienced. Which complicated a lot of the communication and ordering etc.

The rooms are a bit dated and internet is fair to good. There is plenty to do nearby and the hotel provides a shuttle (at discounted price) to nearby Patong mall. The hotel and surrounding area had a party atmosphere. The hotel does a v. good job of accommodating guests needs. Our room was damp and the hotel was able to change us to another room. The pools were nice and the children enjoyed the water slide. The resort also tries hard to put reasonably priced extra activities together for young children like pool games or cupcake decorating class.

I was surprised by the 10% surcharge at the resort/hotels which was on top of the 7% VAT and the TIP. What I would normally TIP decreased because of the surcharge. I was told that the surcharge was separate then the tip and would go the hotel. I think a surcharge is appropriate but only if it is as a tip to increase the living wages of those in the service industry not the bottom line for the hotel profits.

The staff at this hotel were extremely helpful and welcoming. The room given to my wife and myself was roomy, very clean and the air conditioning was thankfully on 24/7. The choice for breakfast was enormous and plentiful. Complimentary towels was available for anyone using the pools and there were sufficient sun beds for those wanting to lounge around the pool. A free shuttle minibus runs five times a day to a huge shopping complex in Phuket town, and this complex is a short taxi ride from the historic centre of the town. I cannot praise the staff of this hotel enough,, they were a pleasure to deal with. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone.

entertainment for kids and adults was good. food markets outside the lobby were good with the band playing.
The terrace rooms, lifts and corridors are WAY past their best. Bathrooms had lots of mould. Shower curtain disgusting, drain overflowed in bathroom, disgusting sewage smell. Room very dated and depressing. Despite it being run down and very dated, the cleaning staff did a very good job.

Location is convenient. Swimming pools are fine. However, room is old, towels are old and beddings are smelly. They charged us more than what stated in expedia for extra child and eventually we paid Bath1000 for for upgrade the room size instead. Price wise not worthy.

Very Nice staff clean facility walking distance to the beach. Excellent breakfast, great variety of foods.
The facility definitely needs a bit of maintenance;It shows its age.
Our room was clean, but smell humid.
The condensation from the ac leaked all over the entry walkway.
Will have preferred longer pool hours.

The hotel was great for families and offered many activities ran by Billy, Tin , Polona and Malina. They were always chatting to all the kids and families to get them involved in the daily activities.

Close to the beach and nice surroundings

The hotel is located not far from Karon Beach, set in nice surroundings. Many shops line the streets outside the hotel and you can take your pick from the many food and shopping options.

We had a very nice 1 Bedroom pool cabana that we enjoyed during our 3 night stay. The only down side was that the air-conditioning in the room was not very strong even after we requested maintenance done. It can get pretty warm in the night. The management did offer to change our room but this was only told to us on our last day so we didn’t want to go through the hassle.

Other than that, we enjoyed our stay. This is the second Centara property that we have stayed in and we like the brand and the standard of service that is provided.

Really good 12 days, location good and facilities second to none. Would return again anytime.

Confusion about having to give my visa and pin although all monies were paid prior to arrivals and we paid as we went within the hotel. Did not really get to the bottom of this or what the outcome was.

Room was clean and large with king size bed. House keeping very good and lots of choice with breakfast.

Some confusion with why they want monies from visa on arrival when everything is paid back. When it is put back into your account and when.

Where is it held in the interim.

The next hotel only took an impression did not ask for pin.

Some clarity needs to be shared here as if you travel you could run out of money without anything being spent just blocked.

We were in KL and had booked to go to Lombok but due to the earthquakes we cancelled the day before we were due to go which left us with a dilemma. Where shall we go? Easy. The Centara Karon Resort on Phuket. Our second visit and the perfect choice. Everything about this hotel is excellent; we cannot fault it; we had a Tropicale Premium Deluxe room which was very spacious and well appointed. Breakfast was good. Plenty of restaurants within 5 mins; lovely sandy beach with sunbeds and parasols 5 mins walk. We love Karon and we love the Centara Karon Resort Hotel and will definitely be paying them a third visit sometime in the future

It’s more of an complex with several apartment buildings than a single design hotel. The rooms can be quite far from the lobby/restaurants. The rooms themselves are good, without any major issues, but nothing memorable comes to mind a week after.

Great Hotel if you have kids!
Pool has waterslides which keeps them occupied, plenty of free activities in the afternoon run by staff for the kids to join in if they wish.
We had2 adjoining rooms right at the pool & couldn't ask for better!
Breakfast was great, plenty to choose from & all very nice.
right near the shops & convivence stores if u need any supplies or to exchange money (just don't go to hotel or one just outside gates as they are the worst rates, walk a little further & they are much better)
A nice walk & more importantly short walk to the beach
Plenty of options of shops & restaurants close to markets & a short walk to Karon Night Market - well worth the visit!

Book yopur tours out on the streets as you can get your prices down as we booked 2 tours cheaper then 1 through the hotel's desk, so it's important to shop around!

Hotel is dated but well kept, staff is very helpful and friendly. Quite a few steps to get to some of the room without a lift in sone part. Booked a seaview room.as recommended by sime reviews but my seaview is 85% blocked by trees. We arrive mid night with young children so cant be bothered with just two nights. One if the room supposed to be two double beds ut obe was very springgy. Compliant to front desk she was very kind to fix the issue but just not worth hassle moving around. She offered me some complimentry snacks. Overall I will come back again.

The location of the hotel is perfect... Very convenient as there are lots of restaurants, bars, shops n massagers just outside of the hotel... Karon beach is 8 mins walk n Patong Beach is 15mins by car... The hotel meets the expectation of 4-star, though it is old but quite well-maintained ... There are three pools there n it is hide away from the bustling environment outside, pretty quiet...

Decent hotel/resort. we got a pool cabana, which was ok. Some towels and the robes had stains, there were flip flops available for us to use, but they were used. At one point, there was no hot water, and when we called about it, they offered for us to use another room and then come back to our room instead of moving to that room. After requesting that we just move to that room, they accommodated our request. Breakfast buffet was good, but the restaurants are not completely indoors, so there were some flies going around. Friendly staff when checking in, but rest of the staff were not so friendly. Nice pool area. Tours desk was extremely helpful and we were able to book a show cheaper than if we were booking directly with the show venue.

Good location, near the beach (around 5/8 minutes walking), but also supermarkets, bars, restaurants. Nice staff. Some rooms need deep revamping of windows. If you like a quiet place, request a room far from the pools (the hotel has four pools), specially from the pools where the kids scream since early morning :-).
Good wi-fi service. I liked the breakfast until 10.30am!

Location & size of hotel was great

Family of 5 with two grown up kids. Great location as close to shops & beach but tucked away.
We met up with two families so total of 15 who had a ball. Three pools to choose from & lunch inside was good quality & reasonable price.
friendly staff made it even better.

Had 9 days in this hotel early December as we have done previously , as usual warm greetings from the excellent staff, no issues or problems throughout the stay, breakfast was plentiful and of the usual high standard

Amazing hotel!! Coming back here very soon.

Honestly this hotel, including the staff made my holiday experience even better! The staff here are lovely and welcoming. The day we arrived it was very early around 9am, and although they say check in is at 3pm, they checked us in as soon as we got there which was lovely, so we didn’t have to wait at all. Housekeeping were truly the best. Some days we didn’t want to bother them to clean our room everyday but without asking they did - which really made us happy. The cleanliness is 5/5 and so is the hotel staff. I have nothing to complain about. It’s right next to the beach and all the nice little food stalls and restaurants and mini supermarkets are all very close. You can’t go wrong!! Honestly do not hesitate to book here👌

Central location close to shops and and beach.

The hotel and staff are great. The staff are friendly, helpful and polite. The hotel is centrally located and within walking distance to the beach and to a variety of shops. We enjoyed the market which was held a couple of nights a week and within walking distance to the hotel. Tuktuks and taxis were easily found. Lots of places for massages, food and drinks are nearby. The three pools, each with a pool bar, were great. The restaurants are also good, albeit more expensive than you can find outside the resort. The buffet breakfast was really good with lots of variety and more than enough food. Well worth the money. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The one small issue we did have while there was resolved quickly with a manager coming to find us to organise a solution. Would be very happy to stay again.
