The location is very convenient, beach 5 min walk. Restaurants well in walking distance.
Staff all very helpful and housekeeping is on the job Kudos !
However the rooms are dated, need a renovation minimum the bathroom shower hardwear and new curtains.
Plan to stay here again and look forward to it.

Okay, but not a destination in itself

There were a lot of reasons I selected Waterfront Suites. Some worked out and some didn't.

First, I didn't think Karon was as nice as Patong. The beach is covered with ratty umbrellas to rent, so the view is hideous. It ended up far from some activities, so plan activities and pick up based on what's on which end of Phuket because traffic is bad.

It's not actually waterfront. It's alley-front behind a laundromat. You will not be heading barefoot from your room to the beach.

The pool is tiny in a parking lot and had a strangely strict towel allowance.

We couldn't use the kitchen. The drawers storing the dishes were moldy and smelled. It was nice to have a full-size fridge that wasn't stuffed with mini-bar items.

So, if Karon beach, being waterfront, the pool, or the kitchen are why you are thinking about booking, don't.

However, there was a lot that was really good including the view and the space. The garden view had a view of the Buddha with three balconies. The room was HUGE with two bathrooms. Even the shoe shelf made me happy. It was great for families for that reason.

I think if I had an activity that led me to be in Karon, such as wanting to do the night market or be toward the scuba or jet ski activities, I might book again. It was a good size for the price. But, I wouldn't book it considering the suites as a place to spend my vacation.

For the price, this is a good property - spacious, central, great staff.
HOWEVER, the centre of Karon is not what it used to be. It's dirty, loud (and the property has to hear the Karaoke until 2am), and at night doesn't always feel welcoming. I'd avoid Karon if you can, although the beach is lovely.

We stayed 2 nights out of a 7 night planned stay and then moved on.

The staff were extremely helpful and attentive, and went out of their way to be make it a pleasurable stay with no fuss and positivity. Located very centrally to the markets, bars and restaurants, and across the road from the beach it’s an ideal position, especially when travelling with young children
The appartments are however starting to show their age. Air conditioning hardly worked and was not functioning at all in one of the two bedrooms, which meant the four of us ended up sleeping in the same room - ie: one parent with one child in a single bed. So not exactly ideal. We did however understand that this may have eventuated from the previous reviews provided so did not complain. After all you get what you pay for sad for the size of the space, it was still excellent value for money.

Good apartment, walking distance to the beach, dinning, and activities. However glass doors rattled in windy days. Cooktop is very old and the hot warm off on mark no longer visible, guess had to guess the level of heat when cooking. We called the staff ang they could not help to identify heat level mark of the cooktop. As an apartment facility, it should have a coin oprerated laundry room and wine bottle cork opener for guests.

The staff was AMAZING; I want to give them a shout-out. However, The pool was not clean and dirty. It had a broken bar that wasn't operational. Couldn't access amenities to other parts of the resort. (Website said you could). The view was excellent, and the room was acceptable.

This hotel was probably a 2 start at best. The hotel was clean and that's about the only positive part of the hotel. The service was adequate to check you in to the room. We paid over $100 a night for a two bedroom suite. The sheets were stained and the hotel is next to a bar. The band played until the early hours of the morning. We couldn't sleep at all. We ended up booking two rooms at Chanalai Garden Resort for $130 and it's gorgeous. It has impeccable service, beautiful pool, swim up bar and great view of Kata beach. I would not recommend the Waterfront Suites Phuket unless you are desperate and can't find any other place to stay.

Great location but music from street a bit loud (ear plugs do help). Close to shops and beach and tuk tuk's available within 100 mtrs walk. Pool towels are supplied and nothing was ever to much trouble for the staff. Certainly would stay again.

The Waterfront Suites are ideally situated and have great views of the water and Karon. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite and it was huge! The pool was great!
The TV reception wasn’t good as with the wifi! The kitchen was in need of a renovation.
We have just booked to go back in October!! Who wants to cook when on holidays anyway!! The fridge was good and the kettle worked, what more do you need!!!

Great apartment, great location. They kindly supplied water and breakfast (day 1). My only slight negative was that there was a power cut and we had to lug our luggage down 20 floors but other than that we had a a great stay. Pool very good as well.

I have a mixed opinion about this \"hotel.\" It is not a hotel but actually extra rooms that are owned by Centara but that are located in an actual building where the condos are owned by private residents. The view to the rooms are amazing. They are the best views in Phuket. However, it is so hot so you can't live on your balcony. The room itself is large, clean and basic. If you are looking for amazing views and don't mind a nothing special room, then this is perfect. The check in staff over charged us on purpose for shuttle service. They had a schedule with shuttle prices but charged us an extra 50 baht over price without an explanation. There is music from the bar on the street downstairs that you can hear in your room until about 1am. The rooms are big but if you have people in your part that can't sleep through alot of noise, this is not the place for you. I gave it three stars for the views but I expected a little bit more of a modern feel for the room.

Highly recommend these apartments, the space is enormous and clean. Perfect for families. Can hear street noise at night but this adds to the atmosphere especially when the kids have gone to bed and you can enjoy a beverage on one of the many balconies, we had 3 in total. Staff were excellent, they even celebrated my husbands special birthday with a surprise cake.

Huge suite, good location, noisy if on a low floor

We travelled here as a family as part of a multi-city/location break. We booked a 2 bedroom suite. We were located on the 4th floor with balconies on 3 sides. During the evening with being on a low floor, we had all the noise from the neighbouring bars and restaurants which went on until well after mid-night. The 2nd bedroom with 2 beds was very good. Air conditioning worked very well and bathroom was huge (bath and shower). 2nd bedroom was huge - very good size. The master bedroom was much smaller. The air conditioning did not work and would freeze then defrost water all over the floor. The bathroom was small with shower only and really smelt (drain smells). We ended up blocking the plug hole with tissue to try and block the smell which worked. On arrival, there was a welcome basket made up of various fruit, bread, butter and jam with bottled water, milk and juice. This was unexpected and a very nice touch. The overall living area with dinner table for 6, cooking area and sofa area with TV was a very good size, very roomy. The pool was very clean and was suitable for young children (shallow end cordoned off). There was a games room which we did not use and tennis courts. There is no restaurant here of ability to get drinks/snacks by the pool. You have to travel to another Centra hotel which has 3 pools and you can order snacks/food. The beach was only 5 mins (less) from the hotel. The actual location of the hotel is in a gated spot fairly secure.

5 min walk to beach, comfortable beds, nice big pool, friendly staff, full kitchen, the \"box linch\" breakfast provided was very filling, bars playing loud music not a problem if you have ear plugs. I'd stay hear again.

Very reasonable for Phuket. We liked Karon Beach. However, it was a drive back and forth to airport, harbor and shows etc.
The suite was HUGE! We had 4 people, and could have fit 4 more. Very clean. A five minute walk to sister facility with 3 pools, swim up bars, and great restaurants.

My wife and three children (13,11 and 9) have just completed a comfortable and relaxing 10 night stay at the Waterfront Suites and would highly recommend the place for anyone that wants a self contained apartment close to everything that Karon Beach has to offer.
Even though we arrived at 3am after a late flight from Hong Kong, we were still greeted with a big cheerful smile and quick check in to our massive ocean view suite.
The staff were all very charming and helpful, especially Ao, who constantly went out of her way to make our stay as pleasant as possible.
The rooms were very spacious and the views from any of our three balconies was awesome. The suites are just a quick 3 minute walk to the beach, shops and many cheap, but incredibly tasty restaurants as well as numerous places to have a drink or soothing massage after a day at the beach.
The hotel pool was also a nice place to take refuge from the beach during the hottest parts of the day. For some extra variety, you are given access to the nearby sister hotel which has several pools and restaurants which our kids really enjoyed.
Only real downside was the noise down on the street level from some of the nearby bars late at night but with the doors closed and aircon on, you could hardly notice it from our 12th Floor suite.
Looking forward to getting back soon.

Very pleasantly surprised to see so many facilities in the room n hotel in such loe price. Ideal local to karon beach n market.unmatched hotel for family stay. The only prob is understanding of English language by staff and reception. There was a big prob at the time of check in when i was informed by lady at reception that i dont have booking despite i paid up the booking a month ago before arrival. I had to show hard n soft copy of successful booking to check in. But ut took a lot of time... still this hotel exceeds ur expectations in comparison to money spent.

Terrible service and attitude at late check-in

I had stayed in the hotel previously and thought it was cheap and good value for money so I booked again to stayed last week. On arriving on a late night flight (3am) we checked in, the staff noted that had booked a one bedroom apartment but noted there were 3 people. Without even welcoming us the first thing the staff said was the room was booked for 2 people and we need to pay the extra person charge before check-in. He insisted we pay the extra first, I told him we can sort this out tomorrow as it was late \"No\" was the answer. He said one of us must leave or he'll called security, in the end I was allowed 5 minute in the room before he came up and made sure one of us leave the hotel, it was 4am in the morning. Told him OK, I will pay the extra charge now but than he did not accept and insisted one person leave. Complained the next morning and the manager was very sympathetic and allowed to stay the next night.

I had always liked the Centara group (I even had an excellent review at the Centara Grand West) as they are often good value for money but after this experience will need to consider again.

We stayed here for 10 nights , 11th- 21sr Oct . the hotel staff were great , all the cleaning staff were exceptional, hotel itself was a little outdated ,but great value for money. my husband and I wanted a relaxing holiday , we also spent 10 nights in Patong prior ,which we found far to busy and dirty ,far to many Indians wanting to unload your money from you ,(but hey that's Patong ) Karon is the Perfect location ,so much quieter and the beaches are so much cleaner ,plenty of shopping and restaurants , we were on the 17th floor ,and the views were breathtaking ,if you are scared of heights or have smaller children get a lower floor , the rooms were so spacious . Had all the facilities to cook you own breakfast or any meal if you wish to do that , or buy out . I did read the reviews prior to going , especially about the noise of the local bars , but hey, if your tired you'll sleep . We go to Thailand every year sometimes and know to go 3 times in a year if the money allows us , love the place ,

Low Frills Apartment Suites Close to Beach

Pros: Location was great only within 3 mins walk to beach. Rooms were apartment style with nice views of the ocean. Rate was good value compared to other resorts. Decent pool. Cons: rooms are a bit old and musty. Very few amenities. Does not offer the traditional hotel holiday feel. Great if you are seeking convenient location at good value and plan to spend most of the day at the beach. But not the type of place to relax and chill out at like other resorts may offer.

Amazing Location, but could use renovation

Location is the best part of this hotel. The hotel itself is kind of old and could use some renivations. The sink was clogged up, AC was leaking, couches were dirty. Also very noisy at night, with music blasting till the morning. Aside from that, beautiful beach just accross the road. A lot of nice restaurants and bars nearby. The suites are huge, and the view is amazing, especially if you get a corner unit on a high floor.

The hotel is a great family accommodation close to beach, shops and restaurants. The staff are friendly and willing to assist with anything you require. The rooms are very clean with a massive amount of space in the room that we stayed in. (2 bedroom apartment). The rooms could do with a little bit of a revamp, new furniture and fixtures, some lights didn't work but these are only very minor things. Overall it is a great places for families to stay

The welcome pack of food was very useful for a first breakfast. No need to rush out looking for food immediately. The 4 bottles of water everyday was a welcome thing as well.
The WiFi is for one device at a time. So it can cause a few problems with a family full of iPods/iPads. In the advert it said Sky Sports was on the TV package. We could not find it anywhere. Eurosport was available however.
The pool was located well and the quality of the pool towels was excellent.
There was a safety line across the pool so that less strong swimmers could avoid going out of their depth. The deep end was quite deep at over 2 metres. But we liked that.
The partner hotel has 3 pools available which the kids made full use of one day.
The complementary toiletries was shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. So if you want soap instead you need to bring some or use the shower gel as a liquid soap. Just thought it was a little strange to miss it out. Location very close to the beach and only a short walk from the action.
There is a DVD player rental service available.

Apartment on Karon Beach

The highlight of the apartment is its location. It is right in front of Karon beach. We stayed in 2 BHK beach facing apartment on the 20 floor with a stuning view of the beautiful sea. The apartment exterior and the room decor looks old and outdated. Though the apartment does not have an inhouse mini mart, there are enough options closeby (5 - 7 min walk) to stuff up your refrigerator. The pool is sufficiently large to cater to everyone's needs.

My first impression of the outside was \"Wow, this place looks awesome\". Sadly the rest was a bit of a disappointment. I think the photos on the net were a bit old, showing Waterfront in its former glory. Also, some of the available facilities were actually at a sister resort a good 10 minutes away. Furnishings were a bit old and sparse and everything else was a bit tired looking. It looks like it may have been a wonderful resort in years gone by. Having said that, I must say the apartments were large, bright and airy. The beds were large and comfy. The room amenities were plentiful for a family of 6. The pool was a decent size and sparkling clean. We had a 2 bedroom apartment on the 5th floor which was fine. Great view from our 4 balconies. Lots of bars and clubs immediately below and beside us which were all playing their own music or live band, each trying to compte with the other. Quite noisy outside, but once inside with doors closed only a distant murmur was audible. They don't have a big fancy reception area but were staffed with lovely and competent people. Everyone seemed to know our names and room number without having to say and they were always extremely friendly and helpful with all our enquiries. It was also really central to everything in Karon. All in all a very nice place to stay, a bit like going home.

Suites for families at Karon

The suite has 2 bedrooms with attached toilets and a large common area which consists of the living a room and kitchenette. The rooms have a direct view of Karon beach, which is across the road in front of the hotel. Some of the rooms have been refurbished to modern design aesthetics but others have simple furniture. We were 3 families (12 pax) travelling together with our children (ages 7 to 21) and this was ideal accommodation since we would get together in one of the 3 suites, without being cramped. The suites are spartan,clean, with great cross ventilation and hence adequate for long stay. However the woodwork does requires a coat of polish. The staff is friendly, especially the two ladies at the reception, and extremely helpful. We faced no issues during our stay of 4 days and the children had a great time. I would definitely recommend this for families as it is away from the hustle and bustle of Patong. As I stay 3 days a week in 5 star properties, due to extensive job related travelling,I can state that persons expecting 5 star standards will be disappointed. The facility offers relaxation but not pampering!

Whilst the Hotel is a little dated the rooms are huge. Our room was on the Northern side and we had good views of the beach and also the hills. You could hear the noise from the bar and restaurant district but it wasn't anything too overbearing. The staff are fantastic and are there if you need them but not imposing. The location is perfect to the beach, shops and markets and the amount of restaurants is great.

BIG, clean and comfortable apartment

My daughter and I stayed in a one bedroom apartment initially on the 4th floor, however after the 4th night an apartment became available on the 10th floor and we were moved without fuss. The ocean views stretched from beyond the left to the right of Karon beach and the sunsets were breathtaking. The rooms were cleaned daily, a welcome pack including eggs, fruit, water, margarine, milk and strawberry jam was provided on the day we arrived. The apartment is HUGE, so more than enough room for us 2. The beds were somewhat hard but comfortable. There are 3 airconditioners in the apartment. The stove has 2 hotplates, there is a fridge/freezer and microwave. Cookware and utensils is very basic. There is an unairconditioned supermarket around the corner whos prices are much cheaper than the airconditioned stores and there is pretty much everything you would need to stock the fridge. We were puzzled as to why most of the powerpoints didn't work (in both apartments), but didn't bother asking staff, who are pleasant but whos English is very basic. The beach is across the road and there are plenty of restaurants and shopping stalls/markets nearby. I would definitely stay there again if I could only find out what the hell was biting me and making me so itchy (not only in this apartment, but every other hotel I stayed in in Phuket).

Perfect daytime location not so for night sleep.

I would recommend this hotel as it's good for its price, BUT beware of the music emanating from the bars below and the intermittent pop pop of the fireworks being let off. The music is insufferable from 11pm til 4 am. We stayed in room 11A and it faced the bars downstairs, the music disturbed us most nights, the kids and husband managed to sleep through it most nights but I'm a light sleeper and struggled to sleep through the noise

Perfect hotel!

Wonderful hotel! We had a beautiful view from our balcony. Very large, comfy 2 bedroom suite. Love the closeness to the beach and terrific restaurants.

Large rooms close to the beach

Large two-bedrooms room with kitchen and living-room, 3 balconies overlooking the three directions include seaview. There are fridge, microwave, electric kettle and stove in the kitchen. Also cookware and tableware for 6 persons but no cooking oil and salt. Not enough light in one of bedrooms for reading. Cleaning of room is every day and good quality. Wi-fi is not free. 3 large swiming pools include kid's pool. Pool's bar wasn't working. Free beach towels and chaise-longues near pools. Free car parking. Сrowded beach across the road with heavy traffic. Walking distance to restaurants, bars, shops, massage salons, Wat Suwankirikhet.
