Excellent base of operations for our recent trip to Phuket. Just across the road from the wonderful beach and easy walking distance to multiple eating and shopping locations. Room was clean and comfortable and quiet at night. There was music from a local club, but it always wrapped up at a decent hour and never affected my sleep.

This is a great area for families or couples wanting a slightly more laid back experience than the wild nightlife just a few miles north.

It is a great a location and most of the staff were nice and helpful except the woman in kitchen ( possibly a manager ) she refuses to give us a knife to cut the 2 fruits we bought. Instead she said we can have the kitchen staff cut it for us but when we asked the next day, she gave us an attitude. The front desks women were also not friendly. Heard 2 people arguing next to our room clearly so it’s not soundproof. BIGGEST COMPLAIN is, BATHROOM NEVER GOT CLEANED!!! Only trash emptied and toilet replaced but bathroom not cleaned at all. We waited that maybe it will be cleaned the next day but that day never came even though we asked for our room to be made up everyday for the 4 nights we stayed. Not recommending this hotel.

The hotel was a little worse for wear, but comfortable. The pool was nice, although the water was too harsh on the eyes. The beach is just across the road in front of the hotel, which makes it convenient. The hotel is also near convenient stores, massage parlours, restaurants and food courts.

Location was great! The staff was really nice and we enjoyed relaxing in the pool after a long day at the beautiful Karon beach. Our breakfast was included and was delicious way to start off the day right! Only thing.. their wifi signal was inconsistent (maybe because of our room’s location?) But still a very satisfying stay! Would go back for sure

Average accomodation, great location

The shower temperature kept switching between boiling hot and freezing cold, the beds were very firm, but the cleaning service was wonderful and the cleaner was very friendly. The drinks by the pool were great and the staff were wonderful, there wasn’t a toilet near the pool toward the back of the building which was inconvenient, the closest toilet was near the reception at the front of the building.

My only complaint on the room is the shower, you can see the mold growing in the corners. The rain shower head is lovely. The air conditioning works well, room was always clean. Balcony was very nice. Very walkable to restaurants, beach is literally right there. Overall a great stay

Location location location! Besides being clean and extremly friendly staff. It is great to get around and venture right outside your hotel. And you dont hear the street noise from your room either.
The front desk is extremly patient with me. I had to lean on them for help several times and each time their responses are extremely helpful and patient.
Lastly, the breakfast selection was plentiful and changed daily.
I would definitely come back and suggest this resort to anyone else coming to Karon.

Room was lovely, clean, with a nice size bathroom and balcony.
Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice.
Pool was nice, with pool bar.
Only down side was people putting towels on the sunbeds and not for hours.
Overall stay excellent would definitely recommend.

Average overall but good enough if on a budget

Overall this Hotel was average in comparison to other Hotels we have stayed at in the same region. The bathroom and cups etc weren’t the cleanest and the bed was hard. There isn't any air conditioning lounges and little grass and pool space. We couldn’t eat our complimentary breakfast as there were never any seats or tables free. It’s okay for the price you pay though.

Good, But not great.

It was a decent stay. However, a few things were lacking that were showcased by neighboring hotel resorts and the bathroom shower needed some maintenance (challenging to open and close) and the shelf was bent downward resulting in having to put shower amenities on the shower floor. Otherwise, the resort was comfortable and the included breakfast was adequate.

Overall quite good but NO wifi in pool area at all, very disappointing. After advising staff, nothing was done and no one got back to me about it. Wifi in rooms also not great. Location was good, close to beach/restaurants. noisy in resort restaurant as road in between hotel and beach, however great view. Staff friendly but vague when asking questions.

You get what you pay for.

The staff spoke very little English which shocked me as we have stayed in Phuket years ago and the service was better back than compared to this time. Getting assistance with anything was extremely difficult, they tried to charge all of us extra for things missing in our rooms on departure which was ridiculous three families travelling together and some things were in each other rooms. Overall was OK but I wouldn't stay there again I would try somewhere else - might be the same all over now since Covid who knows but no where in Phuket was anywhere as friendly as 11 years ago.

The rooms were really nice and the hotel is across the road from the beach. Pool is not huge but has a swim up bar and can charge to your room, which was convenient. Staff were not especially enthusiastic but who would be when its hot, busy, and having to navigate difficult guests daily. They did provide a beautiful juice on arrival that was refreshing. Internet was poor, but if I didnt have school work to do, this would not have mattered. There are elevators so rooms are accessible.

Was rather surprised that out of 10 hotel staff that we encountered, only 1 or 2 smiled at us. The others either turned their faces away, or kept a black face. Stayed there for a long period of 6 nights, yet when we asked for a short 1 to 2 hour late check out, we were refused outright completely. Hotel was quite far from the nearest convenience store and the morning Breakfast was terrible.

The pool access room was large and clean. Pool access from your room is via a large step with a spa jet. The step down is rather large which would make it difficult for some people to use but there is a pool ladder on the other side of the pool. The pool is separate to the main pool and receives very little sun so the water is pretty cold.

Although the buffet breakfast didn’t have the variety of a lot of other resorts, it was still good.

The resort is within walking distance of the beach (across the road) and many shops, restaurants, market stalls and bars.

I would definitely stay here again!

The Expedia rating for this hotel was between 4 - 4.2. This is in no way a 4 star hotel. At most it is 3 star. There is potential for this hotel but it’s outdated and has not been up kept for a while. The bathroom was dirty and clearly not managed properly; the fixtures old and dusty and dirty. The pool had tiles chipped off and not replaced. I didn’t find the hotel staff at the reception desk, bartender and others particularly friendly. The only friendly person was the room attendant. We asked the tour desk about the cost of taking the bus and they couldn’t answer but to say to ask the bus driver. I’m sorry but that was not helpful!

Good value for the money. Rooms were spacious and clean, but barroom shower could use updating. Walking distance to night market, restaurants and the beach is just across the street. Breakfast was ok...fresh fruit, salad and egg station were better than the hot prepared food.The staff was friendly enough. I enjoyed my stay, but Bahan Karonburi is not a 4 star hotel... more like a 3 star in my opinion.

The service was great. Everyone was very friendly. Room could have used some updates. It also smelled like mildew (pool access room.) It was pretty clean but the pool deck had a lot of hair from the previous guest. The shower was small but the bathtub was very good and clean. This hotel wasn’t my favorite but the great service is something that should be recognized. The location to the beach is second to none.

Our 2 week stay was awesome and suited our needs. Checking in/out or simple requests of any kind with reception was a nightmare, only 1-2 people understood processes. The cleaners, security and the kitchen staff where absolutely fantastic in every way. The rooms and grounds were well maintained. The area itself was close to some good and not so good restaurants. Ging restaurant to the right of the hotel was certainly the best. Seafood market we tried a few times to find either poor service of being served off prawns. Great beach directly across the road. Scooter hire place to the left was good to deal with. Happy to come back.

Baan Karonburi is opposite Karon Beach, and close to all shops, and Restaurants. The pool is relaxing, and all the staff are friendly, kind and helpful. This place is suitable for couples, or families, wanting to get away and relax. Will be back and recommend this place to anyone.

Great location across from the beach. Other guests are rude and try to hold the pool lounges while they are at the beach/shopping or breakfast.

They don't hire their own scooters, but the place in the little arcade street that accesses The Old Phuket were fantastic. We did all our tours and hires with them. They didn't even look at the scooters when we returned them.

1.2/17/19 When I booked the hotel, I requested two beds. When we ariived the hotel, the front desk gave us a king size bed instead of two beds. I asked her to changed, she kept saying all the rooms were full and could not help me. I asked to talk to the manager, she refused and said the manager was not working that day. She looked like did not want to help and changed. Her attitude was like that is it. Finally, I got two seperate blankets 30 minutes later.
2. 2/19/19, when my friend and I went to the taxi counter for requesting a taxi to airport, the staff was playing phone and tried to ignore us. We asked her to call for a taxi around 9am, our flight was 2:30pm. It was 5 hours ahead the flight, but she did not want to help us to call. After we kept asking her to do so, she was unwilling to call taxi, then she told us no taxi was available and she told us to find a taxi ourselves on the street. We asked her to call again or another taxi driver, she kept saying no then played her cell phone again. Her attitude was bad to her. We went out to the street and tried to find a taxi, but no taxi was found at that time. The taxi counter’s staff did not want to help us, so we went to the hotel next door and asked the staff of another hotel to help us. That hotel’s staff called a taxi for us even we were not their customers. She even asked the driver come to our hotel to pick us up.
From these two unghappy experiences, I won’t book Bann Karonburi Resort anymore.

This was the worst travel experience ever. Started with a late night check In and we were pointed towards our room. After 10 min wandering on our own (because front desk people disappeared) found a dilapidated room that Smelled of sewage in the drains. Three calls to repair it and it was never fixed. Check out a week later and desk guy is trying to charge me for two robes?! My room never had robes to begin with (and I noticed because our friends room did!) we were accused, called liars, spat at and Called disgusting Americans by front desk clerk. I said check with housekeeping they were never there but housekeeping was gone for the night. I said check my luggage etc. horrible horrible customer service beyond! Calling this a “resort” is a joke. I had the upgraded room even and it was gross, dirty, unkempt. Couldn’t even get housekeeping to give me an extra towel she said two per room only. Save yourself headache and stay literally anywhere else! (Ps I have never in my life written a review this just could be ignored!) I shoulda been comped this stay in its entirety!

Great pool with swim up bar, great buffet breakfast. Aircon in room was very good but unfortunately my room (201) has a musty moldy smell. Perhaps it’s only this room? Hard bed, as all over Thailand, comfy pillows, good WiFi! No power point in bathroom, no big deal. Good water pressure. About 6-8min walk to “town center” near temple, but plenty to see along the way. Beach across the road. Night market at the temple is only WED/FRI during low season... eat there - awesome.
Overall it was an ok stay, perhaps I should have asked for another room that didn’t smell of mould.

The hotel itself is a bit older, but still in great condition. Beds were firm and pillows were new. Lots of nice touches like umbrellas, sandals, robes, great breakfast buffet, mini bar, etc. Pool was clean and had adequate amount of sun beds. The only thing I would leave as a note to other travelers... if you come to this area hoping to see other spots like Patong Beach, Big Buddha, or Kata Beach, your cheapest taxi option will cost between 800-1000 thb. Also the restaurants in the area aren’t the cheapest. But most are highly reviewed on trip advisor etc. if you are coming to Karon looking for cheap street food, you won’t likely find it.
