I fully appreciate it was a cheap room and a low cost for an over night stay.
But on arrival the front door access was not working and so I used the alternative side access which was noted in the arrival instructions.
the main bedroom light did not work up on arrival but there was a lamp in the room which kept me from being totally in the dark !
The external TV arial which had snapped off its mast had come to rest on the bedroom window and every time the wind blew it smacked up against the glass, so there was no way anybody was getting any sleep !! After 20 mins the Tv arial gave up the fight with the wind and fell into the court yard below !
The room had a strong smell of drugs ( cannabis ) and upon opening one of the draws I found a empty packet of medical cannabis.
I could feel every spring in that mattress when I eventually tried to get some sleep.
The toilet next door to the room did not have a working light and so I had to use the light off my phone so that I could see what I was doing.
In the morning when I went to use the shower room I was unable get any hot water from the shower mixer valve.
On return to my room on the second night I was greeted by a group of gentleman in the lobby area that had potentially just arrived in this country and did not understand or care that making a noise until the early hours of the morning would disturb other guests.
Staying at the Pebbles Guest House was one step up from sleeping in the Car.

It was all electronic entry and I received the email on my office email address. I arrived around 9pm, and there was no one to open the door, but a kind gentleman helped me come in and let me know the WiFi password.

I was able to enter the and it was very warm. I was very disappointed that there was no soap in the Shower or the Sink.

I could only make one cup of Tea as there was only a small amount of UHT milk.

Other than this it was fine. I managed to park on the drive, and I left in the morning for work

The property was ok for a basic base, they don’t provide towels, the front door wasn’t working to let you in but you could go out that way.
The lock on the bedroom door wasn’t very good you had to keep pressing to get it to light up so that you could put your code in.
For the price I would say you get what you pay for I paid £90.90 for 2 nights.

Security was bad. Key codes didn't work so external doors were left open. Another guest told us the front door entry key pad hadn't worked for ages Communal areas were dirty and had laundry piled upon surfaces. Broken laundry equipment in communal areas. Barking loose dog in communal areas. Room was dirty, had black mould on the walls, no kettle and the curtains were falling off. I would not stay or recommend this accommodation to anyone.

The “Guest House” (we’ll use the term lightly) was less sanitary and accommodating than I’d imagine a stay at auschwitz was.

The entrance is through a communal kitchen and then laundry room for the multi occupancy flats above. The room was filthy, stunk of smoke, ash and mould. Had paint peeling off the walls, ash and mould in the shower, drug paraphernalia bags in the toilet, filth everywhere, no central heating just a single small electric fan heater and was about as enticing as a week away with Fred and rose west. If criminals spent a week there instead of 6 months in prison luxury they would atop reoffending.

The room was freezing cold I called up the properties personal helpline to request the heating be turned on and was told it would turn on at 5pm and be on all night. That was not the case and I had to huddle up under the blanket and use my own breath to heat myself up. It was a good property for the price however definitely not suitable to stay in for more than a night. It felt like sleeping on the streets.

The only good thing about the place was the proximity to shops! For starters, you can’t get in the front door! Always have to use the rear access! The room was disgusting, very dirty with numerous marks and damage. The cleanliness was appalling, my room was riddled with little fruit flies and I mean riddled, I’d kill 10 and within an hour there would be more! The fire alarm went off at midnight one night and it’s a good job I’m a fire engineer and knew how to reset the box otherwise I wouldn’t have slept at all! The bed was broken and collapsed! The heating doesn’t work! I have no good words about the place. There’s always a company van parked in one of the parking spots also, I really wouldn’t be advertising the place and forcing guests to park on other streets! Avoid avoid avoid!

This property should not be listed as offering accommodation. I believe they are a rip-off group that pretends to offer something they cannot deliver on.
They did not answer the contact number given on multiple occasions so we could get an access code etc. This caused us to seek accommodation else where at our expenses. Shame on them for false advertising - should have taken greater attention to others feedback and reviews. I suggest wotif.com disassociates themselves from this property group, or they too will loose customers.

When I arrived at the property the room I was allocated was already in use. I tried calling multiple times but no one picked up. The maintenance team picked up and apologised but said they could not do anything as this is not an emergency. Stranded outside the place, I had to book another hotel room. I sent them multiple messages and emails and tried calling them and got no replies. I raised the matter with Expedia and after a long back and forth I got my refund from them. I recommend not booking this place under any circumstances as it’s unreliable and unsafe, and if something goes wrong, there is no one to call or reach out.

I spent less than an hour on the premises and that only because I was trying to contact somebody at the property to cancel my reservation or obtain a refund if they could not find me a suitably clean room

I have attatched couple of pictures from the room but they do not give you the remotest idea of the intense damp

I ended up on the street at 3am with nowhere to go. A full refund is the very least I think I should expect

Now I appreciate it was a single room whilst I was working away but the toilets had no hand wash at all across my floor. Shower was dirty and the wifi did not work.

Documents in my room for the wifi were for a router that would not appear. All QR codes to join the wifi did not work.

The property is run down. No one to greet us. Had a problem with getting into our room, called for help. Person on the other emd had no idea how to help, said he'd go tesearch but never got back to us. My husband finally figured it out on his own. The liquid soap in the bathroom was watered down. Never felt like my hands were clean. What we slept on was not a mattress but box springs. Felt every spring so was an uncomfortable night. My feet were dirty because of the dirty carpet. Was a dirty sock behind the bathroom door. The picture of the outside and the inside from the expedia website was not at all the way it looked. Much more run down. It's a long way to places to eat so if no transportation prepare to walk a ways. I'm usually more positive but we had a miserable night.

The photos aren't of the property from what I can tell. Our room didn't even resemble the photos we had made our booking because of. The front door was entirely unlocked and didn't close when we tried it, even with pushing.
The room itself was fine I suppose, although the carpet had a lot of stains and the pillows had marks on them. The room had a code that (assuming all the codes have the same pattern) anyone could have guessed, so I had to get the key out of the safe to keep with us so someone couldn't just guess the combination and come in. I didn't feel safe. I was glad it was only for a night. I suppose you get what you pay for with a place that is so cheap, but basic safety should always apply.

Room needs some ventilation, there was odour smell. Otherwise the room was quite big enough. Toilet was nice and clean but the shower needs repaired otherwise water was hot enough. Check-in was easy. Parking was available at front. The WiFi was not working at all you have very low internet connection in building. After correction of these issues it was not bad at this price.

First of all, its close to the train station and various busses which is a bonus. the price of the room was a bargain and provided what we needed just fine, a bed, tv, kettle, cups, shower? toilet and cupboards, so 5* for that.

we were on top floor which wasnt mentioned on the room directions on the ground floor, just said to room 21 but missed out 22.

there was no plug in the sink and no details for the free wifi so couldnt get internet.

the checkout time advertised was 11 and the door lock details sent later stated 10 which was not good. i didnt keave till 10.30 after the cleaner knocking the door at 10.10. i shouted i wasnt ready and wasnt leaving till 10.30. so bad service there. just a minor thing, when you flush the toilet, you then hear a loud whining sound in the pipes for a while and the water took a long time to drain in the shower.

i got no response at all from the property agent which i thought was bad so had to contact the agent who tried to contact the property but again, no luck.

overall, bad customer service but an overal nice room at a perfect location with a safe digital lock. having a tv was great.

Don't even consider booking Pebbled guest house.

Our booking was cancelled while we were driving to Southampton to join a cruise the following day. I booked this accommodation last January.
We've made you an alternative booking, they said, this turned out to be a single bed in a filthy room. We needed a double being a disabled couple in our 70's.
I contacted them to be told there was nothing available and they would refund my money, that was over a week ago and no refund yet.
We were treated abominably, they simply didn't care. It was an extremely busy week end with 5 cruise ships departing, a football match and a Pride March. We eventually managed to book into the Hilton after searching for over an hour. I was extremely distressed by the whole experience.

Didn't look the best from the outside but inside is well taken care of, very clean and smelled clean too. Front door was broken and couldn't open from the outside which wasn't great, and the side door was never locked. That said, we had a pleasant stay with plenty of space, our own clean bathroom, kettle and supplies, TV, towels and good WiFi. The kitchen downstairs had items available for guests to use, as well as washing machines and a guest fridge for storage. The fan in the bathroom made a strange noise, one of the beds was very lumpy and the door lock was a bit fidgety but a pleasant stay as somewhere just to put your head down. No staff onsite and couldn't connect to the company on the phone, which maybe needs looking at. Parking available out front or on the street, 10 mins to town and 20 mins to Paultons Park. Would come back.

We were woke up around 2.a.m by screaming and fighting beween a man and woman. We were staying on the 1sr floor by the stairs. We are almost postive that the lady was pushed down the stairs. 3 police cars showed and told the man to hit his knees,he refused and the police had to drag him out of your home. Lors of activity amongst other people after police left. Doors slamming and lots of people in and out.We werent able to go back to sleep until almost 6.a. m.

We arrived at the hotel after a long 6 hour drive from North Wales to discover the door unlocked and open. My 10 year old son required the toilet so immediately went into the toilet in the room and when he turned the lights on there was this really loud noise coming from the extraction fan that wouldn’t turn off/quieten down. We then decided to check the beds out for their cleanliness and much to our dismay and disgust the bed sheets were riddled with dirty disgusting stains. We then noticed the so called keypad on the outside of the door- room 10 wasn’t working so we couldn’t leave and go for a walk as planned as we wouldn’t have been able to get back in if we had shut the door. I tried calling the property owner however it went straight to voicemail despite selecting the emergency option. We then decided to leave and not stay overnight due to reasons listed above. It’s an absolute disgrace you are adverting this hotel and taking peoples hard earned money when it isn’t up to the minimum standards. I expect a full refund with immediate effect as it’s cost me another £100 to book and stay in another hotel that is fit for purpose!!

To start with room was very dirty, left over food on what can only be decribed as fit for the bin broken furniture.

No Tv in room was a sore point as i had stayed previously in a larger room which had one.

Bathroom was dated and the door didnt close properly... Great when the strong smell of sewage was present .

This forced you to open the windows to which was above the back kitchen door where everyone seemed to smoke at all hours!

Security light on every 30 mins or so and of course the noise chatter lead to a very sleepless stay!

Bedding i doubt was changed and now returned home with several bites.

Yes this was a budget price stay but some what of a standard needs setting in what is actually a busy guest house.

Me and my friend booked this place as it was quite close to where we shared a house as students 6 years ago and the charm was the same, for us it was a familiar and comfortable stay - the staff were lovely and helpful too, rooms were very nice and it was great value for the pricing.

If you don't mind a shared shower, toilets and kitchen area, definitely give it a go.
My one critique of the house was that the door locks were a little finicky, a few times me and a few other guests got stuck trying to get into rooms.

Property not in great condition. Their key locking system is terrible and we could not get back in after a night out. No emergency phone number so had to phone other hotels in the area in the hope of getting somewhere to sleep.

Luckily another guest arrived who said this also happened the previous night to them. He jumped over the fence and went through a back door to then open the entrance door from the inside.
NOT what you want to deal with at 2am. I definitely do not recommend this guest house.

Regarding the room, the curtains could not be pulled closed properly and too small for the window. Just a bare bulb on the ceiling and no lamp.

We booked the property, have got the confirmation from the expedia.co.uk, but didn't get the pin code for the room in the property. We try to contact the expedia, but we didn't get an answer from virtual agent. Then we tried to call to property contact number, but nobody pick up the phone, have got just an automatic answer. Later we received a call from responsible person for the property, which promise to help us with the room. We waited more then one hour but nobody helped us to solve this issue. We were so upset angry tired and disappointed with the child In the midnight left this place and tried to search somewhere to sleep. Sorry, we had so bad experience with this property. WE could not recommend this property and expedia.co.uk. WE hope that's after all we will get full refund from expedia.co.uk.

Booked for a 1 night stay before boarding a cruise ship. All just felt a bit tired/worn. Beds uncomfortable, 1 of the single beds had broken slats on the base. Put up with it as was only there a few hours overnight & was cheap, but would not return if were to go on another cruise in the future.

From the pictures on the site, it indicated that toileries would be provided. But there was none to be seen. Initially had problems getting into my room, because the no. received was incorrect. Contacted the Office and this was corrected immediately. The no.19a bus goes to the 'Shirley' area, just ask the driver to put you off at the Howard Road bus stop. Take the 1st left and you are on Howard Road and the Guest House is on the right. The full address of your premises needs to include 'Shirley,' Southampton. Teas, milk, sugar in the room was good. During my stay, i said hello to everyone. The fridge was dirty, but still had to put things in the fridge as safely as i could. No one said that they are 'staff on the premises'. I did find the stairs challenging because i had a large suitcase. Maybe next time I will opt for ground floor level, if choice was given.

Arrived and found workmen in and out of the property had to call to check in and we're given wrong details and wrong location for our stay.
When I eventually got the right details and door codes, I was given a totally different room number from the original booking, we entered the room, not the cleanest by a long way, VERY Basic bathroom dirty, no toilet roll,(had to go buy some) & no towels or closet as advertised, TV was set on so foreign language and audio description tha I couldn't chance, very limited channels with poor reception.
Bed not very comfy but adequate.
All in all would not recommend this property.

Hi,

I’m very disappointed with this place lately, mainly due to serious safety concerns. There’s no proper control over who is staying here, and access to the kitchen and shared areas doesn’t feel safe anymore. People are often roaming around under the influence, which is very unsettling.

This place used to be decent, but unfortunately, I no longer feel safe here.

It was horrific. I arrived to find the front door code not working and the door to my room literally RIPPED off its hinges. I called the emergency number and STILL have not heard back from them. I would recommend that the place is condemned rather than anyone ever stay there again willingly!!!!

They say you get what you pay for, so I was not expecting much, and I am glad I was not. I paid £48 for a triple room (Room 22), and while the room itself had good ventilation thanks to the window, there were several issues.

The toilet was dirty, with hair and dust everywhere. It clearly had not been cleaned properly in a while. The TV did not work, and neither did the WiFi, which was one of the main reasons I booked this place. Maybe it was because we were on the top floor, but there was no one available to help.

Also, the check-out time on Hotels dot com said 11, but the sign at the entrance of the property said 10. Someone knocked on my door at exactly 10, which was very disruptive and confusing.

Overall, the quality was quite poor, but for a very short and very cheap stay, it served its purpose.

No one at reception to greet, nor email to tell us what room we were staying in. Unusable rickety furniture, no TV, lumpy bed. 2 person stay-only one mug in the room for coffees and only 2 tiny miniature bottles of shower gel which doesn't go far enough. Nice quiet location though.

Bed could really do with a new mattress or at least a topper, as there are springs that can be felt.
Other residents need to be reminded to not let the doors slam or they should be fitted with closers. Was woken at least 3 times late in the night and then abruptly at 7.30am by the room next to us.

I had been slightly apprehensive after reading some poor reviews, but it was fine. Definitely more \"student house\" than \"hotel\" but perfectly adequate for a night. I was aware of other people in the house, but not disturbed by voices or traffic noise, and the door code system felt safe and secure. My only complaint is the lack of human contact in the checking in process. A phone number is given with advice to ring at least 24 hours before arrival, but it seems not to be manned. After a bit of detective work I made contact by email, then I received a reply that I would be given check in details at noon on my arrival day. This did happen, but I wasn't able to ask a human being if there was a kettle in the room (there was), a TV (there wasn't) or parking space (there was, but more by luck than design).

I was surprised The room had no bathroom, heating was not working all night. Don't make the mistake of booking here. I complain to the stuff 3 times and called them at least 10 time just to get someone on call and no help from them. Still haven't got the refund. Worst accommodation of all..

We arrived at 3:30. Took 10 times to use a code & get in the front door which they handle felt like it was falling off. Went up a flight of 15 stairs which isn't mentioned in the description to room 5 with another coded door. Took 10 tries to get in there.
Only to find clothes & garbage in the room. A young girl came up to clean the room as I sat on stairs waiting. This took about an hour & she wasn't going to vacuum until my husband requested it. The bed is hard as a rock with springs poking you & gross looking bedding. The sink is in the bedroom. We weren't given hand towels or soap. No TV. The window was open for air but people smoke out the back door & the smoke & noise from talking comes right in the room. There's 1 outlet on the floor on the far side of the bed for you to plug a kettle in & have instant coffee. There's seriously nothing good about this place except the price. Anyone that's stayed here before could use the code to get in & whatever room they were in so that's not good. I chose a room with a bathroom those that shared went up & down the stairs & past our room & you can hear every step. Another guest knocked on our door cause they couldn't get in their room either. I slept in my clothes cause I felt the bed was too grungy. I've slept in a lot of ceap decent places but this was the 2nd worst I was ever in.
