The room was as expected for the price we paid. Towels and bedding were good. A lovely view of the lake from our window. We were only there one night and just to sleep, so can't comment on other facilities.

Room was very cold (14 degrees) when arrived at 20:00. Went to desk and asked why it was so cold. Said you had to turn radiator on. Took over an hour to warm up at all and still in reached a max 17degree, during night. Duvet not good enough for that temp.

The pipes for hot water kept making noises (alarm loud) 3/4 times during night.

Working tv but very small and no mini fridge. Just seems off for a 8/10.

We arrived at the hotel at around 4pm and checked in and were allocated a room, the room had a terribly strong smell of sewage and drains, this room was not fit for habitation and should never have been offered to anyone and was clearly not checked.
We returned to reception and were told this was the only double available and were offered a family room on the second floor. The room was freezing cold 5 degrees and the heating had just been turned on. The bedding was cold and damp. It was so cold that we went out and bought an electric blanket as we had no choice but to stay in the room as we had a function locally and had travelled a long distance to be there. There was no heating in the bathroom which was also freezing cold, so much so that my wife was unable to take a shower.
The temperature of the room was 16 degrees at 7 oclock. We were given a small portable heater.
Our weekend was spoiled by this disappointing and unacceptable situation and we want a refund.

Room was quite clean but a bit dated has some cracks in walls I opened the tv cabinet and it came off in my hand but the worst bit when you washed your hands if you ran the hot water for a minute or so then the I’m assuming it was the pipes made a loud noise for about 5 minutes

The room was quite outdated, cold even though the heater was on full and no soundproofing so woken up several times from other rooms having showers, toilets etc. Also no WiFi in the rooms and the TV was very small (18\") yet in the far corner of the room.

The property is very dated. The room I was in seems to have cardboard walls. The next room had a TV on late in the night, even after asking them to turn the volume down it was as if the TV was in my room.
The hot water tap was making a loud noise with water flow coming on randomly.
The room was clean though

The receptionist Niaomi was super friendly professional and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. The English breakfast was fresh and tasty. The steak restaurant was a nice surprise. The scenery over looking the water was picturesque. To anyone visiting Canvey I would recommend the Oysterfleet hotel

Easy check in. Small carpark but adequate.
The room was good.
Looking a bit tired in the main building, the roof probably needs some attention judging from the ceiling tiles. Shame the lift is inaccessible after midnight.
Overall though it was good value for what we required.

Property in general was clean and the staff pleasant. Had issues with breakfast, the orange juice was fizzy and off so i advised staff. The apple juice had something floating in it. It was changed or removed but attention to detail needed. Rooms pretty basic for the money. Could do with updating. Ok for one night but wouldnt want to stay longer.

The ground floor bedroom offered was terrible.
It was extremely basic, worn and was surrounded by both parked and moving vehicles.
No alternative was available so it was take it or leave it.
We chose to leave it and moved to a much superior hotel.

Convenient for a quick stop over, friendly staff big clean room, parking good, but the bed was SO hard, both woke up in pain and the pillows were as flat as pancakes.
For the price we paid, at least should have included a continental breakfast….. nothing! This was extra…….not at those prices!
When you can travel 5 minutes to the seafront for a full English inc bread and hot drink for half the price they wanted.

When we arrived the staff were friendly and helpful. The room on the other hand was awful! Very outdated interior, some lights not working, Hole in the bathroom floor, bed and pillows were horrendous. There was a tiny tv right in the top corner of the room that you couldn’t see from anywhere. The walls are way too thin, could hear everything next door was saying and when they used the shower/tap it would wake you up. Overall terrible experience and only stayed for 1 night, would not recommend.

My stay was lovely, the staff even let us check in early as the room was ready as we had a brunch. Everything was clean and tidy, bed was comfortable and the hotel was lovely with a bar and outdoor area. Ordered a pizza from the bar and that was really nice. I would recommend a stay here and no doubt I will be returning.

To make things worse the room I stayed in had some sort of machine outside so when the wedding noise finally stopped at 12 35 the machine noise kicked in.

Rooms need a serious update

Plenty of parking spaces and check in was ok but the bedroom and bathroom were in need of a desperate update or at least a repair. Dirty marks on the carpet, windows that didn’t lock shut properly causing a security issue, bathroom floor that had perished due to water ingress, very poor lighting and the tiniest tv up the corner of the room. All in all very poor value. All the staff were very pleasant but wouldn’t stay again unless everything was brought up to date.

I have to admit after reading the previous ratings I was extremely worried but I needn’t have been. All the staff were helpful and friendly, the room was very clean and so was the bedding plus the bed was comfortable. The food in the bar area and the breakfasts were fresh and tasty. People said the TV’s in the rooms were small and they were but they worked and were adequate, if they were to upgrade them they could move from a 2 star to a 3 star rating I feel sure. I doubt we will visit again, not because of the hotel but because we went there for a specific celebration which was held at the hotel and was excellent both the food and the entertainment. It was unfortunately a long way from where we live.

Nice stay, although I would have preferred a room not on ground floor as just had view of car park but will know next time to ring and request. Keys not explained at all - as I was in separate building - once I managed to locate the building as not marked very well, I didn't realise at first there were two keys on keyring and had to work out (took a couple of turns rather than just one like a 'normal' lock) how to unlock the door to get in said building. But overall, bed comfortable, tea & coffee facilities ok so would use again.

There's not much choice on Canvey Island. Oyster Fleet was OK but urgently needs refurbishment. Bedroom was adequate, reasonably priced, but needs an overhaul generally, particularly the paintwork. Public areas were also showing their age. However, the place was obviously popular with locals. Atmosphere was friendly, particularly the reception staff.

I had a great stay at the Oyster Hotel. I went for one night and when we arrived the receptionist was warm and friendly and all the staff we had an interaction with were all very friendly. The bed was very comfortable and I slept great. Check out was at 11am so we got up and had breakfast (I had the vegan breakfast with eggs and it was ok, my partner had a full English and loved it).
I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

My Mistake!

Upon arrival, I experienced a traveler’s worst nightmare. It was completely my fault, I had booked a room at the Oyster Fleet for the right day, but I had got the date wrong and booked my stay for the following week!
The receptionist was extremely helpful in rectifying my mistake, even though it took some time to sort out.
This a great hotel with great food available

Room was cold. Radiator didn’t work. Mould in the bathroom. Strange to have a kitchen sink in the bathroom, but functional so ok.
Bed was comfortable so slept well

Shower was decent, although the mat in the bath hadn’t been lifted for a long time as there was black mould spots under it.
Then again for £78 it was cheap and did the job. Heating could have been on prior to arrival, as it was very cold.

Beds were a bit small for two people (doubles) but clean and comfortable and we had a good nights sleep.
The shower is an over-bath type but is powerful and you get a great shower.
Although the rooms are large, they are very dated and showing their age. If they were to be given a makeover they would be excellent rooms.
The bar are is welcoming and the food looked really good.

We had our young grandson with us late afternoon/early evening for dinner & found it impossible to find a table outside which was out of earshot of some of the most vile language we've ever heard. (And we both grew up & still live on one of the largest & roughest council estates in the UK)
The room itself was ok, though the cleanliness of the bathroom left much to be desired. The mattress was too firm & not comfortable.
Herbal tea in the room is usually provided in other b&bs, as are biscuits ...
The staff were, in the main, kind & efficient. However, when I paid for breakfast, the woman at the bar needed help to open the till, had no idea what we had (despite us being the only guests in the dining room) and was unaware that drinks were included!
Overall, the premises are tired, in a state of disrepair & in need of a complete tidy up, inside & out.

Were allowed to check in a bit earlier which was great. Room was a bit warm, luckily we brought a fan (suggest you do too). Bed was comfy but it is only a double (not king size). Good shower. Good food in the restaurant and at breakfast. Might be an idea to get a toaster rather than one of those toasting conveyors as it wastes electricity, is rubbish and heats the room up (ok in winter but not summer). All staff were lovely and really an asset to the business.
