The restaurant was closed during our stay (because of the Bayonne festival), but the hotel was helpful in warning us in advance and recommending local restaurants that were open. Very central hotel, but quiet and peaceful, backing onto a pretty courtyard.

Immaculate, 5* hotel with exceptional service.

A 5* experience in a beautiful location with a fabulous room with balcony. The stylish interior design, a la Philippe Starck, and personal touches only added to the overall experience. The level of service was exceptional and the general manager Edgar was extremely kind, informative, helpful and compassionate, and all front of house, waiting and other staff were helpful and polite. The enclosed swimming pool (open 24hrs) and sauna were fab as was the breakfast buffet. An amazing experience.

Lovely stay in this oldest hotel in Bayonne. Staff was gracious and very helpful. The breakfast was lovely. At dinner we ordered the veal chop for two. It was so good we ate the WHOLE thing!

I wouldn't recommend or stay here again. Coming for the US it was more along the lines of a 3 star hotel. The carpeting in the room was very stained and there was a bad smell in the hotel hallways. The front desk staff was not very helpful upon arrival (no offer to help with bags or share recommendations). If you want a hotel that feels clean/comfortable I would recommend looking at one of the more modern hotels in the area.

We stayed in one of the suites of the hotel which is in the medieval tower. The room and the hotel were perfect. The hotel also has a restaurant which serves excellent French food. It was perfectly located within easy walking distance for shopping and dining.

Charming Hotel in Bayonne

This hotel is very centrally located in the old section. The staff is delightful. When we entered, the woman at the desk warned us that there might be a hot water heater problem. Within the hour she informed us that all was well. The only drawback for the elderly or handicapped is that one must climb several charming stairs to reach the lobby.

We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Basses Pyrénées in one of their junior suites. Great staff, easy, welcoming check-in, and breakfast. The rooms were well furnished in a very unique set of rooms. Great amenities and comfortable stay. Nice location to see the old town of Bayonne. Will definitely come back to the hotel when in the area again.

Lovely little hotel very close to the beautiful independent shops of Bayonne. The only thing letting it down for us was that it was a little dusty on the bathroom floor. The air con was brilliant and quiet though and it’s well located for the sights of Bayonne & Biarritz. Would recommend.

Amazing long weekend in Bayonne

This was our first trip to Bayonne and it wont be our last.
From the moment we arrived we felt at home, the hotel were very friendly and welcoming.

We were upgraded to a junior suite over looking the rugby pitch and a side view of the river, it was very spacious clean and perfect.

Lovely Hotel - Have the Lamb in the Restaurant

Lovely hotel - with two huge selling points...1) the staff...couldn't be helpfully enough especially the young gentleman who helped us check in and helped us with our suitcases when we checked out... and 2) the restaurant food... HAVE THE LAMB...the young female chef who created this meal has to be given a 5* thumbs up for this delicious lamb dinner. I would stay in this hotel again just for this meal...

We had a wonderful stay. The hotel is very centric and well located. It has as very nice Frenchy flavoured and it is a very nice boutique hotel although we found the hotel very expensive. We arrived late, at 10:00 pm and at that time the kitchen was already closed. They were having a group at the restaurant and they were very kind to offer us the same dinner they had as the local area restaurants probably were closed also at the time. Good quality but not quantity and but very expensive for one dish only (25eur each). The personnel was very nice and friendly but but language was a barrier. We were wellcomed by a young girl that did not have much experience and was not very helpful as she gave us the wrong information more than once.
We found that Breakfast was very expensive for what they offer.

Great Hotel!

We enjoyed our stay here. Our room was clean and air-conditioned! we were able to walk into the city to enjoy the sights, restaurants, and shopping in Bayonne. I wish we had stayed one more day to take a cab to the beach. We thought that it was closer than it actually was. The staff was very helpful and did their best to accommodate our needs. We only speak English but they were wonderful. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

A Gem in Bayonne!

The hotel is perfectly located to shopping, sights and most importantly, parking. Our suite was very large and comfortable. The daily breakfast offered a good choice of pain au chocolate, croissants, hams, cheeses, cakes, fruit, eggs to order, pancakes, crepes and juices. Excellent service from all of the staff.

Lovely place!

It was a great location and very friendly and helpful staff. Be aware that if you have mobility issues, there are steps at the front entrance but none on the other side. Also, ask for a room that isn't in the \"new\" part, since there are steps to access those rooms in addition to the elevator.

Not what we were expecting.

We stayed just one night, travelling down from France to Spain. From the pictures on the internet I expected a quaint hotel in the mountains. Instead got a hotel in bustling city, narrow streets very difficult to navigate, no front entrance to speak of so couldn't pull the car up to even get the luggage out and unload. The terrace we paid extra for have a view of shopping & stores but if you looked up you saw the mountains. On the bright side room was spacious, clean & comfortable, a little dated.
