Wonderful Staff but location not good.

Hotel was dated and very noisy, person above had TV full volume until 1:30am. Had an adjoining door in our room, person in next door smoking and coughing all night. Traffic outside was very noisy. On the plus side Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Had an enjoyable evening meal which was very tasty.

We left as soon as we arrived. It was disgusting there. The first room stank of smoke and the second room offered was next door to someone running repair business down below in the car park.

Good location just on the outskirt of city centre. Easy check in/out with friendly staff. Comfortable clean room. Nice breakfast. Outside patio area to relax in. Restaurant not open on a Sunday evening. Would stay again for an overnight stop.

The bedroom was shabby compared to other Campanile hotels. Only 2 threadbare towels, a tear in duvet cover & poor quality pillows. However the staff were very friendly & the food was good. A coach load of teenagers on a school trip were too noisy at night for us other guests

One of the better Campaniles

One of the better campanile hotels, not as run down as others such Rouen Sud. Staff friendly and helpful, plenty of free parking and perfect for the motorway. Definitely would stay here again.

Perfectly fine for a stop-over for the night. Easy to find, good (if a bit tight spacing) parking. Decent breakfast (€11.50 extra) - continental style with lots of choice and quantity.
Overall, if you need somewhere to get an overnight stop, this is fine 😊

Great staff make this place

It's a budget chain so you know what to expect in general. However, what lifts this branch is the exceptionally good attitude of the staff and the quality of the food. Dinner and breakfast were both very good. Otherwise, how shower, clean bed, you know the drill. Very convenient location if you are travelling on the Spain or Portugal.

Too expensive for a 3 stars hotel and too expensiv

The hotel rate I paid (141 EUR) was too expensive for such a dated hotel. Besides there were crumbs on top of one of the twin beds and we got a room on the far end of the corridor which is the closest you can get to the nearby road and we could hear traffic from our beds. I would not stay here again unless everything is fully booked in Bayonne.

Room smelt of cigarette smoke; beds were comfortable, carpet was stained and could do with replacing. Room was surprisingly quiet considering it’s location just off a busy roundabout.
Breakfast buffet was fine.
Overall it was not worth complaining about for an overnight stop on our way to Spain, but would look for another hotel next time.

Good stopover. No complaints.

Good stopover on the way back to the ferry in northern France. Rooms are a little tired but comfortable. Great supermarket across the roundabout for all your needs. We travel with our 2 dogs and there is an area of grass for exercise and they are allowed in the room for a small fee if the weather is too hot or cold. Staff are pleasant and helpful. I emailed in advance to request a downstairs room with walk in shower and received a prompt reply. The room was as requested. We have stayed here several times and have no complaints. Breakfast is OK if a bit pricey but as I have a milk allergy find it better to self cater. The room has a kettle and paper cups and 2 coffees 1 black tea and 1 fruit/ herbal tea plus a little milk and sugar is supplied but if you enjoy a good brew suggest you bring your own. Overall a good experience. Would liken this hotel chain to Travelodge in the UK.

Good stop.

The female staff are very friendly and helpful but the males are a bit aloof. I have found his on a couple of visits. However if you are lucky enough to deal with the ladies this place is a good place to stop on a journey to Spain. Food not up to much but there is a great supermarket just across the riad and places to eat nearby. Dog friendly too.

Friendly staff at check in who spoke excellent English. Small restaurant on site but fast food places close by along with supermarket. Room was small but very clean. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room. This was a one night stay for us on journey driving home from Spain to UK and the hotel was situated not far off the motorway and so was ideal.

Good stopover but suffers under pressure

Good stopover on the France Spain route. Have stayed here twice. The first visit was great which is why we chose to return. However on our return journey the hotel was fully booked with a handball and a football team and we were unable able to check in until 4pm. As it was 30 degrees and we had 2 dogs with us this was far from ideal. We called and requested an early check in but were advised we could not be accommodated. We actually arrived at 15.50 and were greeted by a lot of tutting at reception. Can't fault the position of the hotel and on our first visit the staff were lovely but obviously the staff on our second visit were feeling the pressure and our stay was affected. Will probably stay again as it is convenient for us. Will just have to hope it's a quiet night.

A cut above...

For an overnight stop en route to Spain/Portugal this is a definite cut above most of the cheaper chain motel competition. Pleasant and well designed room with comfortable beds, air conditioning, good lighting, a spacious desk area and tea/coffee making. A well appointed bathroom with the added bonus of a bath and plenty of hot water (essential relaxation after a long day's drive!). Some traffic noise in the evening but nothing much to disturb at night despite the location on a main road. Parking facilities are a bit cramped but adequate and secure. We didn't sample the restaurant or venture into Bayonne town. Overall very impressed at the quality for a very decent price and will certainly use Campanile again.

Nice Little stop over on the way to Spain. Dogs allowed in hotel if it`s really cold (and it can be). Restaurant had good choice and reasonable as was breakfast. Staff pleasant and helpful. Would stay again.

Convenient to the motorway

We were looking for an inexpensive place to spend a couple of nights while passing through the region. Our rooms were tiny and spartan, but very clean, efficient and comfortable. It is exactly what it is, an efficient hotel for business and overnight stays. It is not a resort or family place.

Clean modern motel 20 minute walk from train station with fair 47 € rate receipt said I paid for breakfast but clerk attributed that to agency fee when I asked about bill. Internet was intermittent the in morning but shower was hot and overall fair deal if you're not hungry. Rate was double next day.

Hotel is located next to a busy round about, so we found it a bit noisy. You can also hear other guests passing by your room at night. Thankfully our room was nice and the bed was comfortable.

We were on route back to the UK and have stayed at this hotel before. We find it clean and tidy with good access to the motorway.
There is a restaurant on site which is reasonably priced.

Colour scheme was squashed Kermit & very dated. Seats were 1 hard wood chair & a wooden stool type chair. Not used for long so not a major problem. Bed comfortable, bathroom large, clean & plenty of hot water. Cooling system needs upgrade.
It is very difficult to park near your room unless you are among the first arrivals.
Locations of reception & eating area should be reversed as reception is tucked away out of site.

We have used this hotel before and only had one poor nights stay. This time all was good. The staff were helpful and efficient and the rooms comfortable and clean. We had a small dog with us which caused no problem. On returning three weeks later we requested the same room, and again the stay was good.

Booked here to break up the drive from London to the Algarve as it is ideally located just off the motorway close to the border with Spain. I knew that as a Campanile it would be fairly basic but all we needed was a bed for one night at the start and end of our holiday. The staff were all very obliging and friendly. The restaurant and food was adequate but not special but it is a Campanile so that is what you should expect.

We stayed here with our 2 cats on our migration to Spain. We were very very pleased. Quiet, easy to find, comfy bed, hot shower, drinks making in room, great food in on site restaurant, and the cats were well accommodated by the tile and laminate flooring. Would definitely stay here agai. Even without the cats!

Perfect for one night stop

Unfortunately after booking on line my husband phoned to request a specific room ( he speaks fluent French), and was told that is WAS available. When we arrived after 12 hour drive from Southern Spain we were told it was NOT available and we were given a room round the back. My wife has a very bad leg which made walking difficult. So was not best pleased!!

I burnt my arm(friction) on the bedsheet,getting out of bed-not good to have poor nylon sheets when boasting about cotton duvet covers.
Eurosport cut off as the Fi started-I suppose I had to pay, but nobody told me how to do this

Would have liked the room to be a little larger but otherwise fine, good beds & didn`t hear any noise which surprised me as very busy straight outside our door. Tea & coffee a nice touch you don`t find very often in France & Spain. Nice bathroom, flat screen TV but poor connection for wi fi.

Hôtel a éviter. Conditions d'hygiène déplorables.

Hôtel a éviter. C'est preferable de dormir dans la voiture. Il y avait des gros travaux a l'hôtel pas mentionné sur le site de réservation. Les chambres sont vieilles, sales, mal entretenues. Les accès aux chambres sont sales, peu visibles et franchement font peur. Le parking est ouvert sans surveillance. Les chambres sont presque pas nettoyé, on a du changer de chambre 1 fois parce que état de nettoyage et l'odeur de moquette sale et pas entretenue etait impossible a supporter. Attester par la recepcioniste de service. La 2 eme chambre etait pas becaup mieux. On aurait dû partir mais il etait tard et on etait fatiguées.
Les matelas etait pas en bonnes conditions et les coussin etait plein de tâches jaunes, la moquette avait des enormes tâches partout.
On s'est réveillé le matin avec des morsures sur le corps qu'on avait pas la veille. On est parti au plus vite puisque en rendant la clef et personne nous a pose aucune question sur notre séjour. Plus jamais je ferais mes sejours dans cette hôtel où cette chaîne d'hôtel. Je ne recommande pas a personne. Cette hôtel devrait être fermée au ferme au public.
