We have stayed at Rioshouse George-Inn a few times, and it never fails to impress. The staff always respond rapidly to any request, and it is always clean. We love the location, Chalfont St. Peter is a lovely village, and the locals are very friendly.

We returned to this property, having enjoyed a stay there previously. The staff were attentive to any request we had. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and we hope to stay there again. On the negative side we found the mattress very uncomfortable as it was lumpy and gave us back ache. We also could not operate the induction hob in the kitchen.

Room was clean but i think the previous occupants snoked, as the room smelt like cigarette smoke, possible that it smelt like that from people smoking outside the restaurant.

Was altight tho as we just needed a place to sleep.

We had seen Rios House when we visited the area previously, and decided to book a stay during the Christmas period. The aparthotel is conveniently located, just a stone's throw from local shops. Although we booked a studio, it was very spacious and the kitchen was quite large with cooking and drink-making facilities. It was also easy to park. When we requested some items for the apartment, the staff was very quick to respond and supply the items.

I loved the hotel, my room was clean, modern and even had a kitchen area.

The owners were very responsive when I contacted them with a question about my stay and they couldn’t have been more helpful.

Large rooms, but not really cared for

I arrived at 7 pm and the small car park at the rear of the hotel was already full.

TBH I’m glad it was as the drain covers were leaking and I didn’t fancy having to walk through that!

The self checkin is easy and the room was easy to find a good size. I was in the George room.

The room itself was a different story. For some reason when I arrived the heating was on full and the room was stifling. I ditched my bag, opened the window and switch on the fan to cool the room down, and went for a walk as if as too hot to stay in there.

The room hadn’t been prepared very well at all by house keeping. Stains on the duvet cover, lots of long black hairs on the floor (the bathroom was particularly bad), it was a good job I was staying in my own, as I didn’t want to risk closing the bathroom door, as the handle was hanging on by the end of the screws.

I did not rate the staff, because I never saw any of them. This is a self check in and out facility above a Mediterranean restaurant. Be sure you have WhatsApp if you book here because that is how the hotel contacts you. There was either no notice of this when I booked, or I just didn’t read thoroughly enough. In any event, it’s really the only place to stay in the immediate area. Do not park in the shopping center parking area for any longer than an hour. There is a very narrow passage way through the building. The hotel is in where you have several places to park in the back. Overall, I liked the place, but I’m not sure I would stay again. I would say it is great for younger people.

Had a slight issue finding the it as the signage outside is for a restaurant/bar. Once we did find it, parking was easy, instructions to get into room simple to follow.
We had the ‘studio’ room. Spacious. Comfortable bed, but as it was almost against the wall, was quite tight to get in and out of. No table on that side of the bed.
Good quality towels. Nice coffee. (Had to google how to use the machine though)
Very clean.

Table and chairs. One chair seat was a little loose.
Room on main road, got noisy quite early (I took ear plugs)
BUT note Rios house is not a hotel, it is serviced apartments

My stay was good - certain factors were design faults ie I couldn’t have a bath because there was nothing to hold on to to get out - no instructions how to use the coffee maker (if that’s what it was) however cleanliness was excellent and the staff in the restaurant helpful when asked

We arrived to find the room had not be cleaned/turned over for us. We called the contact number in the check in email and spoke to a member of staff. He came up to the room and was very apologetic and offered us a complimentary dinner, which was very kind, but we were going out that evening. He did leave us a bottle of prosecco, which was much appreciated. We left and he said the room would be cleaned, whilst we were out. We arrived back just before midnight and whilst the room appeared to be clean, there were 3 of us staying and no bedding was left out for the sofa bed and only enough towels for 2 people to have a shower. This was a real shame and at that time of night, we were tired and just wanted to sleep. Luckily I had brought an extra jumper, so I gave my duvet to my friend. There were still hairs in the shower, so we opted out of showering there. There were also no teabags in the room, so we left pretty soon after we woke up. As there was no reception at this hotel, we didn't get chance to speak to anyone when we left, which again is a shame, as I would've fed this back to them then.

Really unfortunate to have to write this review. Hotel upon arrival had bags of rubbish outside the property and we were unable to park. Not too much of an issue but when we walked up our room we were greeted by an unbearable smell of smoke, being 5 months pregnant this was awful, there were leftover drinks in the fridge and the bathroom was full of orange mould, dust in all the extractors, and toilets which werent clean. Floors gritty with noticeable hairs and a very basic bed and mattress. When contacted the property to let them know of the situation, they said we should have told them when we first arrived, which i do agree with, but we were in a rush to get out for a party which we were attending, however the room should have been cleaned before we arrived not once we'd arrived and had to complain. I also dont understand how you clean smoke out of a room? Being 5 months pregnant we didnt feel comfortable staying here with mould and smoke for heath and safety reasons, so we actually left the property at 11:30pm, as soon as we returned from the party, we spent 30 minutes in the room in total and didnt get home until 1am in the morning (which was why we contacted the property the day after). Really disappointing experience, wouldnt recommend at all.

The check in & check out process was very straight forward and the bathroom was spotless. There were a few marks on the bedding & the armchair was pretty grubby. However this did not effect my comfort as the room was, on the whole, very well maintained.
Sound proofing was an issue though and every night the chat from the staff & punters below in the courtyard felt like it was taking place right in my room. Along with a lot of door slamming. Luckily this subsided after an hour or so but will definitely upset light sleepers.

We chose this property based on free Wi-Fi and free parking. It had neither. Wi-Fi was out for a week. We were not informed until the day before check-in, they had no parking lot for the property. The car park across the street was convenient but frustrating to find. Checking in was also frustrating as it wasn't clear where the entrance was, there is no reception desk. Road work/construction going on, not the properties fault but it impacted the Wi-Fi and the parking situation. Also, because of the road work the GPS could not get us to the correct road to find the entrance. Cleanliness of the apartment was a bit of an issue, we chose this location based on its convenient distance to LHR and the charming village it's in. I thought this apartment would give us plenty of room to pack our suitcases before an early morning flight. It did have the space but the inconvenience of bringing all of our luggage and belongings down the street and then up a flight of stairs was not worth it.

Despite there being a large fridge in the room, there were no pots or cutlery so there was no chance of self catering. Indeed we had no teaspoons at first which made making coffee and tea a bind. Staff sorted the latter when we got in touch.

Superb.

I was a little anxious about booking this accommodation as we hadn’t taken an apartment before but couldn’t find anywhere else in a hotel.. On first sight of the building frontage I was of the impression we were entering a period property with white walls and black beams but upon opening the entrance door it was a revelation. We were met with a high end Turkish restaurant, superbly decorated and furnished throughout. We were beguiled by the style and attention to detail the restaurant showed including a New York style cocktail bar. Upon locating a table you pass a row of rolling chunky Kebabs sizzling over actual charcoals. The food is as outstanding and very generous portions. The service lives up to the high standards the restaurant warrants and were very friendly and welcoming. we will certainly return.

Lovely studio. Had everything you need. Only thing was a baking tray was missing, but that’s only if you need one. I made garlic bread was a little difficult without the tray. But other than that excellent place with lots of shops, pubs and beauty parlour.

Would definitely stay again.

First time coming here, we were visiting family who live 5 minutes up the road! The apartment was beautiful! Felt very safe with the modern keycodes to get into all the doors! Fresh linen comfy bed what more could you ask for! Will definitely be returning :)

A fine stay but very over priced.

Location is fab ( Costa, M&S food, local corner shop etc all within 1 minute walk), apartment was really spacious and had all essentials ( apart from washing up liquid/ dish cloth?! So rather difficult to wash up if you have cooked).
The cleanliness is slightly lacking. There was something slippy/ oily on the floor outside the bathroom which made me slip over when I walked into the flat the first time!
The bed was not properly made- the sheet was not fully covering/ leaving the mattress protector exposed. You could feel the springs in the mattress- not the comfiest I've slept on!
All in all, a fine stay but very over priced for what you get.

The apartment itself was very good, spotless and with many facilities.
There were three minor issues. Although there were notices asking guests to remain quiet after 9pm, loud door banging from the pub kitchen or storeroom underneath continued until 11pm. The kitchen light, on a motion detector, flashed on and off every few seconds and it would have been helpful to have an instruction book for the oven/hob.

Plus sides, clean comfortable room, well equipped with microwave, drinks, towels etc.
On site car park not big enough for numbers. I was very lucky someone moved outside building after I’d gone round block couple of times otherwise would have been a major issue. Self check in worked Ok but I found the list of rules sent on the morning of my arrival very unfriendly . No room based welcome either.
My room was 29 degrees ! The mattress was sooo soft, very uncomfortable shame as didn’t live up to standard of rest of room.

This is advertised as a hotel, it's not. It is serviced apartments. As a woman staying alone I felt quite vulnerable here because of the key pad entry system. There is no bolt or extra lock on the inside of the door. In a hotel it is standard to have a lock on the inside, such as a metal bar. I didn't sleep well because of this lack of security.

Communication And check in was straight forward and my room was superb, however whilst led on my bed a woman walked into my room as she had the same security room number as me.
They did send me a new number and apologised.
To make this a more comfortable stay there should be a security deadlock on the inside of every door to ensure this doesn't happen again.
