Clean spacious rooms and neat toilet. Staff were very friendly. Lots of activities inside the resort. However, everything was very expensive. It was costing like we were in Singapore. Stay was comfortable from ferry terminal pick up till drop off.

This is a huge property with several hotels. I think to maintain budget they have done several things to cut corner

Facilities:
- Excellent pool / great for adults and kids
- kids playroom is huge and reasonably priced as staff takes care of kids
- beach is well kept

Rooms:
- very dated , and terrible amenities. Industrial soap in showers, terrible packet coffee and cheap toilet paper
- walls quite thin so can hear neighbours

Food (only ate at NIRWANA resorts)
- terrible and very expensive even for singapore standards
- even bfast Buffett was very average and had subpar coffee

Staff is friendly but does not take initiative.

Overall highly unlikely to be back. For the price/food probably not worth it.

The property is a little run down and tired and could do with some refurbishments, especially around the pool and grounds.
The resort is very family friendly, something to be mindful of if you are not looking for this. The rooms are fine, however the noise from luggage movements in the corridors is noticeable and starts early when guests are checking out.
Highly recommended booking Anindya Spa as the treatments were great. Also every staff member in the resort that I interacted with was very friendly and helpful.

Hotel is spacious, clean and well maintained. Love the views of the sea from the pool and dining areas. The toilets in the west wing where I stayed in were newly renovated which enhanced the stay. Due to its size, theres a great variety of both land and sea activities catering to kids and adults as well!

The property is vast and good. The breakfast was good. However the food ordered in the restaurant “The coffee shop” wasn’t great. The fish was so dry and chewy. It was not even close to soft. The other restaurants like Kelong and Dino was better.

Comfortable place with good service. Renovations happening at some places that created some noise and smoke. Some f&b segments were closed too and on Mondays but generally the stay was enjoyable.
Would have preferred to be given a pool/beach facing room since it was quiet on a Monday but was given the back facing unit.

The beach was covered in sticky tar, we couldn't go in the water or even walk on the beach. The resort also seemed dead, there was 3 or so families in the entire resort. Everything was incredibly expensive and the staff were not service oriented at all. Bad customer service, expensive resort, not a happening place.

Nice change before heading home

Resort is located an hours ferry ride from Singapore (terminal is close to Changi Airport). The ferry ride was pretty good but we had a few patches of rough seas. On arrival the pre arranged bus was waiting for us to take us straight to the resort and on arrival we were greeted with a short local welcome dance and drink. Check in was easy and everyone was very friendly. There were not alot of visitors at that time of year (mid Jan appears to be their slow season till Chinese New Year starts in Feb). Resort was still lovely but without the touristy vibe with half of the activities closed I guess due to lack of patronage and many places took advantage of this time to do maintenance. The rooms were basic but had what we needed. A free shuttle bus was offered to go to nearby places within Nirwana Gardens if required. We were only there 1 night. If we stayed longer we would have tried one of the golf courses there as they looked amazing and town apparantly was an hour and half away where the Temples and Elephant park was. Still a pleasant interlude before heading back home although reasonably expensive to stay too long.

Great escape to a breezy beach

We had a very pleasant stay at Nirwana Gardens. The room was very comfortable and spacious. The problem was the very thin walls to the adjoining room and the Chinese family that liked to get up a lot earlier than we wanted to! Other than that the room was great. The facilities at the beach could be better (chairs etc.) but the beach was very pleasant. There is a bit of tar in places but not very noticeable unless it gets onto your clothes or skin. Staff and service was very good and friendly. Overall a very happy stay.

Great location and fantastic pool. Hard to get full info on the activities/services around. Walked for 2km to a floating bar, just to find out it's closed for renovation. The breakfast buffet was pretty good. Almost all activities are expensive and not that interesting. The dinner options are many but not particilarly impressive. The Spice restaurant was quite good, but the Italian one on site was not. Paid 20$ for a microwaved pizza. The service is subpar throughout.

All is typicaly nice of a typically nice resort in a verry nice setting. But, they do take to the extreme the business model of cheap (ish) rooms but gouge on the F and B. USD9 for a can of beer (at least bring me a bottle), USD10 to put my bicycle on their free shuttle bus, USD22 for taxi ride from the resort that cost me USD13 to the resot, and of course the old favorite 10% service charge.

The property is very well maintained, the food is excellent and there are a lot of possible activities that can be made. Personnel is lovely.
However prices of whatever is sold within are (just my standpoint of course) too high (e.g. food, items at the mini-market and activities). The traveller should gather relevant information on associated costs so not to have surprises once there. Such costs are not avoidable as it is not easy/convenient to get out of the resort.

The staff is friendly and they speak good English. The bed is firm and nice. We had a very good rest in the night. The Wi-Fi reception is also good and we were able to watch Netflix in the room. The pool overlooks the sea and the beach is clean. There are ample deck chairs for guests to laze around the pool. We had a most relaxing stay at the resort. It will be nice if there is shuttle service to Tanjong Pinang, the city area.

They just want to make money, as much as possible. All is chargeable.
Food is double the price compared to Singapore (incredible).
My daughter lost her mask in the water middle of the ocean during snorkeling. They have charged 25S$ for replacement, the mask was just old and had been probably used since years by hundred other tourists.
Many plates and bowls at breakfast buffet are not washed properly and i could find rest of food stuck.
The rooms are old and wifi very poor in rooms.

We stayed a night for a family trip. The pool and the view from the balcony was wonderful, the staffs were friendly and helpful. There are dancing performance as well. There used to be elephants but they were moved to a nearby safari, we saw some small animals such as fish and chameleons. We enjoyed the pool, Kayaking, horse riding and archery during our stay, but there are also bunches of other activities and the place is huge, my 8-year-old son said he wants to call it a dream hotel.

Nirwana Garden is just 15 minutes from the ferry terminal. It’s large and well laid out and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It has its own stretch of beach, which is kept clean, despite the junk brought in by the tide. They have a nice range of adventure sports, but we just chilled out. Our room was large and comfortable with a lovely sea view.

We visit Nirwana resort every few months it’s our goto place. Since it was a special place we decided to spend our new year there. However, this time the experience was horrible.
1) they gave us a room with adjoining door and we could hear the person fart, scream and eat! We could also smell his food
2) then we ordered food at the Dino bar and the staff was rude saying that everyone is busy preparing for the New Years party that would be at night
3) we went in for 90 mins massage each and I came out with bruises on my thigh and arm! It’s the most terrible so experience ever! I emailed the spa tried to reach them but no response. They really don’t care
4) we requested for late check out, we were willing to pay for it but 4 different people keep calling and asking the same thing.
We were really disappointed with this experience

It is an older hotel the room was nice however the public washroom near reception and the pool are in need of serious renovation and cleaning as they were quite unclean compared to the parts of the resort. It was disappointing that at lunchtime by the pool you could only get buffet. If you have buffet breakfast and want to partake in the Saturday night BBQ buffet 3 buffets in one day. Which means if you want to have a snack you need to leave the pool and go to the upstairs dining option which is unfortunate. I hope the hotel will rethink the only serving buffet lunch at the poolside restaurant. I couldn’t even get French fries with a beer which was all that we wanted.

Good weekend getaway

It's a nice resort and they are honest about the tar on the shoreline sand. They do provide cooking oil to remove it (or bring baby oil with you for a nicer scent). Be mindful of the jellyfish. The pool is nice if you want to stay away from the sea. Very big grounds - lots of restaurant choices you can charge to your room. Transfers from/to ferry are streamlined. Good weekend getaway.

Also jellyfish warings re swimming in the sea. Most facilities were closed and although i paid for 2 nights, i only stayed one. Much prefered Batam where everything is cheap

Frontdesk was not upfront in telling that the room is not yet available upon our arrival. I have to come back at least 3x to check and each time they give different alibi. They allowed for a late check out though. Asked front desk how to go to the mall and was instructed that there is a 3rd party shuttle that can bring us there. Ended up brought to no man's land and not to the city. A newly build commercial place with no customers. Again, frontdesk was not upfront.

They don't change your towels. Have to ask housekeeping.

Place is good to relax but food is expensive. Buffet breakfast is good. One time at lunch, I ordered seafood vermicelli. The seafood is exactly 4 pcs, worst than Singapore hawker centers. No quality control.

A great stay. The rooms were clean and big and nice. Had all the usual facilities - kettle, toiletries, safe box, tv etc. The swimming pool is huge and was really nice as well. There is kids pool as well. Lots of activities around - horse riding, elephant ride, air rifle, bowling, etc. There is a kids club for kids to spent time, which has foosball, face painting, TV, colouring etc. There are water activities available as well. Of course, everything is additional charges. Whether you want to just relax or have a fun filled day with lots of activities, you can do both here. The beach was surprising good with clear water and white sand. Had a great stay and will probably go back again soon.

I loved the setting. The beach was beautiful and pool and grounds were pleasing and well kept. But, many things could have been improved out of sight with just a bit of care and attention. You had to pay extra for all amenities ie, perhaps table tennis and pool tables could be free, along with canoes?? The staff were generally unhelpful and unimpressive, lots of the amenities etc were under maintenance, and the whipper snipper was cutting grass all day long from 8am and the rooms were not very quiet with the music from the Dino bar at night (not peaceful). The rooms took a long time to check in...I waited til after 3 for one of my rooms. But, overall, a lovely place, and with some TLC, could be a very very beautiful place to come from Singapore, regularly.

Many facilities in a big resort

Going to the Nirwana out of peak season means that some of the restaurants are closed. We arrived on a Sunday and stayed for 2 nights and ended up eating in a different resort for the second night as the food was so disappointing. The floating bar is also shut.

Check-in was really slow. Over all hotel feeling dated and worn out. Room lighting is insufficient. We stayed inin a one bedroom suite but there's only one TV eventhough there's room for 2tv. Tea coffee facility is basic. Where's nespresso machine? Room rate is the same as Grand Hyatt Singapore but what we get only 2 stars facilities, real rip off. Very disappointing.

Beach and Infinity pool surpasses my expectation!

First time to Bintan and Nirwana left me a very good impression. Greeted by professional and friendly staffs throughout and the room was comfortable and pleasing. The resort had a very nice Infinity pool. The beach was excellent too. Much better than the beach at Plaza Lagoi. Do check out Mayang Sari's beach also. The buffet breakfast meets expectation too. Price at restaurants and mini mart on site are on the high side as compared to other parts of Indonesia but their food quality and quantity is satisfactory. Overall i enjoyed my stay at Nirwana more than i could have expected.

This is a place worth a stay and getting there is reasonably easy from Singapore, having said that the transport information overall was a bit vague.

Decided to book a premier room which looks towards the pool. The room was a bit outdated and brown, but appeared to be recently renovated. The bathroom was brand new and very modern.

The restaurants were great and the service excellent, great atmosphere – pool area dining was a bit rustic, but that’s how I like it.

Breakfast was ok, typical buffet for Asia.

The pool area was exceptional and as is as good as the photos in the brochure. Had a pool bar, lots of swimming areas, lots of loungers spare. Had a great lawn area and lots of hammocks.

Beach was good but had some tar. Had lots of other sports activities available if that’s what you want.

Place also has a modern 10 pin bowling alley.

I had been to Bintan Island before so I knew about the ferry from Singapore. Trying to find information how to book the Ferry and then get from Ferry terminal in Bintan to the resort seemed difficult, however upon arrival at the Ferry terminal a bus drive had my name on the list of people to pick up - so was all good.

I will go back again.

We liked this hotel. We had a nice relaxing time here (exactly what we wanted!). We were also pleasantly surprised with all the activities on offer on the resort grounds. The staff were also very friendly, helpful and courteous at all times. We'd definitely stay again.

This place is a bit lame.

The Hotel did not impress us at all. The room itself was fine. We had a suite and it was very large. The shower was tiny for the size of the bathroom. The food was only \"ok\" and certainly nothing to remember. This hotel 'tries' to represent itself as a premium resort but fall far short. The activities were lame. At first glance there is a lot to do but when you really look at what they are offering it is all kind of crap.
The thing that bothered us the most. They have a very nice group of local musicians and dancers that welcome guest when the bus (with ferry passengers) arrives. They play for exactly 47 seconds! yes we timed them. After that they sit around the lobby for an hour and wait for the next bus and play for 47 seconds. The rest of the time they are sitting around the lobby looking at their phone. It would be nice if they were there as entertainment or ambiance for the hotel guests instead of a fake greeting.
There was also a very loud group of people in the room below us having a party. They were playing music, singing, screaming and obviously very drunk. We had to call the office to get someone to tell them to turn off the music at 12:30 am. The hotel staff should have done something provocative instead of waiting for a complaint.

- Rooms were old and tired
- Staff did not come and clean room till requested
- nearly had issues with ferry home...other resorts arranged for ferry ticket once we pass them our ferry information but it was not done
