Mario was very welcoming and gave good directions to the B&B. It's in a lovely old building on the 5th floor . The area was very safe and some lovely restaurants close by along with other shops. All the main sites are walkable and lovely way to see the city. Mario was very helpful with some local knowledge and booked us a taxi for our homeward journey to the airport. Imelda the lovely lady who looked after us at breakfast and tidied our room was welcoming and very helpful. B&B had everything we needed, was very clean and the breakfast of yoghurt, french toast, croissant and coffee was a bonus. Would definitely stay here again.

The property owner was extremely helpful as was the lady who prepared breakfast and cleaned. The only downside were a couple in the next room who thought it okay to make a noise, laugh and talk till 2:00am. not the owner fault but, unfortunately sound transmitted through the wall. A 15min walk from the Termini Station and walking distance to many of the major sites in Rome.

The location of this property is the best, you feel safe walking at anytime of the day, the restaurants are wonderful Pizzium, el fornio de Sofia and every single place place in the area. But the highlight of this property is Mario, his hospitality, his smile, his knowledge of Rome and his sweet accent showing you places to go, buses to take, ways to go around. He truly make you feel at home. Who needs a five start hotel when you can feel like home, with a wonderful breakfast every morning and a person who greeted with the best Roman smile you can find?.
I do recommend this place with a high 10.

I like that it was in a neighborhood. It was safe walking at night with nice little restaurants close by. Easy to walk to train and sights.

Perfect location

The B&B couldn’t have been more perfect. The owner, Fabio, met us upon arrival and showed us up to our room. It was modern, clean and fresh will all the mod-cons you could need for a weekend break in the city.

The breakfast was simple but effective (croissant, bread and jam, yogurt and as much juice and coffee as you wanted). On some days Fabio was there to serve andon others it was self-service.

The location was perfect to visit all the main sites. Upon arrival Fabio provided us with a map and circled the sites and the bus stops to get us there. However, we decided to take in the city and walked everywhere. The furthest was a 45 minute walk to the Vatican. The Trevi Fountain was 15 minutes away, the Pantheon 20 minutes and the Colosseum 30 minutes.

Upon checkout Fabio offered to store our cases for the last day to allow us to finish exploring the city without the burden of lugging cases around.

We couldn’t have asked for more! I would highly recommend.

Lovely B&B - Would Stay Again!

We really enjoyed our stay here. Mario is welcoming and friendly and also very helpful. On our arrival he gave us a map of the city, told us which places to visit, the bus routes, etc. He also organised a taxi for us on our last day. The room was clean and tidy. The hotel is located in a quiet street and though close to the Metro you can walk to most places. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to friends!

Nice B&B close to everything

This B&B is in a great location, about 10minutes walk from the train station and walkable distance to most attractions in Rome (whilst here we only used the bus once, we walked everywhere else).
The B&B itself is on a 4th floor, accessed via a lift. The rooms were pretty standard but pleasing enough.
There is an amazing little gelato shop just down the next street which is bonus to have on your doorstep!

We stayed here for four nights at the end of July and really enjoyed our stay. The B&B is perfectly located in a quiet part of the city, yet within walking distance to all the main tourist attractions and close to plenty of restaurants and shops. Mario was such a welcoming host. He always greeted us with a smile on his face and he couldn't have been more helpful with recommendations for places to eat and information on public transport. Our room was also a good size, and was very clean and air-conditioned. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone coming to stay in Rome. Thank you again Mario for all your hospitality!

It’s not the most conducive elevator for anyone who has a fear of tight spaces lol but there is stairs. The B&B location is nice, its about a 30 minute walk to anything you want to see. Its near the train and U.S Embassy. Mario is very nice and helpful. The cons that I have are the room had a damp feeling to it. It was clean and it didnt smell or anything it just felt damp. It could be because its humid outside. I dont know. Also the \"breakfast\" is terrible. Would of been nice to have some fresh fruit, a bagel, cereal something besides hard \"toast\". Also a microwave in the breafast area would be great. The Wifi was terrible but it seemed like that was an issue in all of Roma.

Room condition was very bad, bed cover was old and unclean, sheets were old, pillows were very old and unclean. The whole building was infested with mould and smelled really bad. The mattress old and very uncomfortable, the mini firdge was melting and dripping water, the whole room including the bath were unclean on arrival and during our stay. We would never return to it again and would not recommend it for anyone to stay in. The management charged us city tax even though we paid tax within our booking with the fee charged by Expedia.

I dont usually write reviews but the owner disrespect me. I dont do this so people wont stay is for the staff and owner to improve service. This is what we encounter. We got to hotel since is run by owner and assistant when we got there it was 11:20 am. Mind u the check inn is from 11 to 4. There was nobody there. We had to call expedia and they contacted the owner which said he was at the hotel then later admitted he was not. Had to ask for air cond. Remote if not they dont offer it. They advertised hotel with ac which I tought was deceptive. No soap on bath just shampoo and it was samplers. Breakfast just toast jelly butter croissant amd yogurt. I dont know how expedia allows them to be advertised as a buffet. Coffe had to ask for refills they dont let u use machine. Need to improve a lot just basically not be so stingy and cheap.

Safe Neighborhood Central to all of Rome's Best

We were pleasantly surprised to receive a message from Mario, the B&B's owner, immediately after booking to ensure he knew when we'd be arriving. He then followed up with detailed information about the best options to travel from the airport to the hotel.

Upon our arrival, he welcomed us with juice and took the time to go over a map of the city so we knew how to get around and some of his recommendations. He offered to stay and answer any questions we might have about our plans during our stay. When we told him we had an early train the next morning to Frascati for a vineyard tour before breakfast, he prepared a tray for us to keep in our room so we could eat before we left. All of the amenities were true to advertisement: this is a small, safe, affordable B&B in the heart of the city; not a fancy, pricey hotel. Breakfast was simple as stated: croissants, toast, coffee/cappuccino/lattes, juice, and yogurt. We usually just had cappuccinos and a yogurt, which was a perfect to start each busy day of sightseeing and eating heavier pizzas and pastas later on.

Mario and the housekeeper were extremely friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We would absolutely go back.

We had a lovely stay!! Mario was very accommodating and welcoming and the location was perfect not too far to walk to all of the amazing attractions. The room was clean and very nicely decorated. Towels were changed immediately at request as were any other toiletries. The only thing that would bE even better would be if cereal was on offer for breakfast too! However I can not fault the apartment it was perfect.

Well priced hotel in Rome

This hotel is in an area with lots of restaurants to choose from, so after a hard day sight seeing you can dine on your doorstep. Everything you will want to see is within walking distance, even the Vatican, although it's a long walk. We had no option as there was a transport strike on that day. The rooms are on the 5th floor but there is a lift. The place is cosy and comfortable and Mario meets and greets with enthusiasm and efficiency. The lady who gave us breakfast with a smile every day was just lovely. This is a budget option so if you want high luxury maybe this is not for you. If you want a clean room in a central location at a good price then I can recommend this bed and breakfast to you.

Our 5 nights stay at the B and B was great. Mario communicated personally prior to our arrival which I found really thoughtful.

The location was very convenient to see all the major sights, average of 20 minutes walk to most places which was very nice. We got to see the city whilst we walked to sights and always stumbled across many more which wasn’t on the map.

The room was exactly like on the picture, if anything the bed was much bigger and very comfortable, we only had one disturbed night sleep as the room next door was quite loud. Over all the room was fab.

The breakfast was a light breakfast, don’t expect anything big and fancy. You get coffee, juice, toast, a yoghurt and a crossiant. It was enough to set you up for the day. It just lacked variation as we had that for 6 mornings.

The hotel is quite close to the main station (10-13 min by foot) and has an excellent public transport network. There is a supermarket nearby and a lot of small cafes, budget places and local shops.

The host and staff are super obliging, friendly and helpful. This is the first time in my life when the breakfast was provided even if we had to leave very early in the morning before an official breakfast time.

There is a problem with hot water in the room, as a usual issue in old buildings: water pressure is low and you have to wait 5-10 min till it's getting properly hot.

Might be a bit cold in the room (during winter time), but could be adjusted by the manager by a request.

Excellent rate quality-price.

Mario is a great host and the first to ever contact me prior to my arrival to confirm my booking and to give me helpful hints on how to get there from the airport.
The room was a little small, but adequate for a single or couple.
The location is great; only a short walk from Termini Station and within 30 minutes walking distance to all the major sites (Vatican might take a little longer, but there is a lot to see along the way).

Excellent communication from the owner Mario. Great directions from the train station to the accommodation used email and What's app. Mario met us on arrival showed us to our room on the 5th floor thankfully there is a lift. The rooms are clean, bathrooms clean with fresh towels. There is also a small fridge in the room with a selection of soft drinks to purchase at a reasonable price. Mario was very helpful gave us a map and and explained about the bus routes and numbers. My only negative comment about this place is that the lovely lady at breakfast gave us our breakfast and didn't let us choose it was a bit of a Faulty Towers moment!

Mario is amazing. Very full of attention, gives you a map when you arrive and explains what is nearby, transport...
He was very helpful throughout our stay.
Room was very clean, although it is quite noisy in the morning.... shower not the best but we never stayed very long so we did not mind too much.

Wonderful location, welcoming host.

Location was splendid-- Termini train station Abt 10mins away, bus stop just a walk away to take you to the city centre.

10 Day Stay at Agli Horti Sallustiani

My mom and I, easygoing travelers, decided to go to Rome together for 10 days and found this bed and breakfast. We got to Rome around 11 o'clock and Mario, the owner, was willing to come and check us in even though our check-in time was 3 o'clock in the afternoon. The room was perfect for my mom and I. The bathroom although small was perfect for us. The windows opened wide and although it was hot during the day we had some breeze during the night.
We came to Rome to travel and see as much as possible during the 10 days, we did not come to Rome to stay at a luxury place and spend a lot of time in a hotel or bed and breakfast. Imelda, the woman who cleans and prepares breakfast for us was extremely friendly and helpful in all ways. She was able to prepare at the time we needed. One day we went to Venice at 6 am on the train and she left the breakfast in our room the night before.
Another day we were planning to go to the Vatican early in the morning and asked for breakfast to be prepared early. Mario himself came in and did it, however our alarm did not go off and we overslept. Luckily Mario knocked on the door (Did not bang) and got our attention and woke us up. We were extremely thankful for that.
All in all everything we needed was provided for us. We were comfortable, felt safe and enjoyed our stay at the Agli Horti Sallustiani Bed and Breakfast and I would not chose any other place.Thank you Mario and Imelda for making my first time in Rome special!

Fantastic hotel, highly recommended

Hotel is an excellent location, it was difficult to find it first but as soon as we got our bearings it became ideal. The facilities are very good although our room was quite small. The staff were excellent, Mario was exceptional and greeted us with all the relevant information when we arrived, the Lady at breakfast I was also lovely and could not help us enough, stuff really are very helpful and wonderful to talk to - I would not hesitate to book this establishment again and when I return to Rome I shall look at at doing exactly that. Our flight was an evening flight and we checked out in the morning, Mario Stored our bags for us and allowed us to return to get them at a later time. He was an absolute gentleman, cheers Mario you legend look forward to seeing you again in the future

thieves operating this B&B

My wife lost her branded wallet with bank cards, Driving Licence and other important cards and personal info. with some cash in it. It was apparently stolen from the room while we were having breakfast in the breakfast room. Last seen in the morning before the breakfast and realised we lost it when we got into the cab after we checked out the room right after the breakfast.

Very Central

The hotel was basic, very clean but that is all you need as it was so central and within walking distance of the sights. Mario the owner was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone on a short stay trip to Rome.

The whole experience was a really good one. The building itself was stunning. On arrival Mario was so warm and welcoming, and explained getting around the city. The room was clean and had up to date facilities, bathroom was lovely. The breakfast was simple but enough to keep us going, and the lady (sorry I've forgotten her name!) was also incredibly friendly and helped us feel at home, as well as giving us advice and directions for our day ahead. The location was a bit of a walk to the main sights, but this was absolutely fine for us. I would 100% recommend staying here, it was excellent value for money

Great location within easy walking distance of Rome city centre. There's a bus stop close by too. Mario was a fantastic host and couldn't do enough for you. Even took the time to bring us a map and tell us which buses ran where to make our trips out a lot easier. Would definitely stay there again!

Small Bed & Breakfast in quiet street

Owner was there to greet us when we arrived. Agli Horti Sallustini is in a quiet street with some great restaurants nearby. A convenient bus top makes it easy to get anywhere in the city.

Can't beat it for the price and location.

Good location near train station, Walking distance to everything. (though the Vatican is a distance) You can walk to the Trevi fountain, the Pantheon, and other sites in the area on the way to Vatican. (we did get a bus ticket to ride back though, it is a long walk to go all the way there) Bus stop a block away with buses to just about anywhere you want to go in Rome. The Termini train station is about 5 to 10 min walk from Room. (Train to Civitavecchia i.e. cruise ships!!) Fabio took really good care of us, even helped to get us USB adapter for the room. Would stay again.

Fantastic location and experience

Situated in a great location, close to amenities, bus routes, restaurants and within walking distance of most places to visit. The area is very safe and feels very comfortable. The hotel owner Mario could not be more helpful or friendly. Just perfect. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Excellent host in a good location

Our host emailed us in advance for our time of arrival, as he has to be there to open the door for you. Rooms are on the 5th floor are clean and fairly spacious. The elevator is very small holding at most 3 people. Breakfast is continental. It's noisy with the sounds of the street below, but OK with the windows closed.

Location was good for us with lots of restaurants to choose from in the immediate neighborhood. It is surprising the number of people that smoke in Rome, so sit inside if you want smoke free, as it's smoking outside in the patio. It was very safe walking at night and found the local buses convenient and easy to use to go to the tourist attractions and back to the B&B. The HOHO is also convenient for getting around. We used the Yellow line as it came with the Omnia Card, but there are 3 or 4 other HOHO lines to choose from.

a nice place to stop and would stay there again .Mario the owner couldnt do enough to make our stay a pleasant one .we was leaving early before breakfast and he put breakfast in our room .the night before in the fridge .the hotel is 30 mins from the centre of rome but a nice walk with plenty to see

B&B was about 15 minutes to Termini Station,just off the main tourist areas, but easy walking to them all, or Metro.
On the 5th floor, with a tiny lift, but a lift nonetheless, you will need to contact Mario to let him know if your arrival time and he will be there to greet you and show you around. The rooms are very clean and quite quiet from the street noise.
Breakfast is sparse, have the decent coffee and a yogurt. Don't stay here for the breakfast but do stay for a reasonable hotel room, nice neighborhood feel, and good, reasonably priced restaurants. Both that were recommended nearby were quite good. We walked everywhere and felt safe always.

Nice flat, convenient location

The B&B is in a convenient and safe location, just off the Via XX Settembre, a ten minute walk from Roma Termini and two minutes from several bus stops. Many of the major attractions are within walking distance. There's also a lovely gelateria just round the corner (Gelateria Romana). The flat was clean and tidy, the continental breakfast was pleasant and the wi-fi worked fine. The manager Mario was very friendly and hospitable. He gave us a map of Rome (which came in very handy) and told us how to reach the main attractions. The price was also very reasonable. We would definitely stay there again.
