There is no one on staff or at the front desk except from 8 am to 11 am! Even though they ware available to call or email, it was quite a problem because I was expecting a delivery of my luggage but the currier could not deliver because there was no one at the property! Also, the bathroom was not put together well, I kept on hitting my shoulder on the pointy counter when I went to the toilet! Have a cut and a bruise now. I cannot recommend this hotel I’m afraid.

Great location, great breakfast, clean room. Check in and check out was easy. However, in the morning someone opened our door with a key 3 times while we were still in bed. There was no knock for housekeeping, and we aren't sure who it was. But ultimately they did not enter and front desk apologized.

What an excellent little apartment for a four day stay in Rome. It was centrally located in a quiet area, close to transportation. Lots of restaurants and grocery stores nearby. The staff was pleasant and helpful throughout our stay. We would definitely stay there again and highly recommend to others!

This was not setup like a traditional hotel. It was a building with multiple residents and a floor converted to house people. Although it was clean and the people were nice, the communication on how to gain entrance to the building was not clear.
The air conditioner unit leaked and caused a large puddle on the floor that dripped on you every time you walked under it.
The staff were helpful and coordinated transportation for us that we appreciated.

Overall we enjoyed our stay here and while the room was very clean it was let down by the bathroom, the entire chipboard vanity top was covered in white mould and there was loads of other mould in the bathroom it was not ideal at all, the shower screen didn’t close all the way leading to water all over the bathroom floor and being a European bathroom it was so tiny you had to sit sideways on the toilet due to the vanity being in your lap, not ideal.

Anyway aside from that the hotel was fairly central and easy to walk to the attractions we wanted to see, lots of food options around to choose from and the staff were very helpful

Wonderful little hotel in the heart of Rome

A great little hotel for those looking to have a safe, clean, and accommodating place to stay while our exploring the city. Riccardo was an amazing host and made the arrival process incredibly easy, as we came late on a delayed train. The room was perfect for our last minute one night stay, in a great area, with lovely staff. My parents were arriving the day we checked out, but as our BnB wasn’t available until 3pm, Riccardo took special care with our accommodations in order to make something we could leave our bags for a bit and get a lunch. Will definitely be coming back!

There is a code to be used to get access to the building which we did not receive before check-in. We arrived after hours not having received the code. I tried to contact the hotel several times without response, before I arrived. No response. I eventually got the code late at night with the help of a local restaurant. The contact seemed peeved that it was somehow my fault. Maybe it was, but the next day I helped another arrival into the place who aldo had mot reveived the code. So maybe it wasn't my fault. One would think that if arrivals habitually arrive with access issues that perhaps the hotel needed to revise its procedures. I won't be staying here again.

I had the opportunity to stay at the Hotel Ercoli for ten nights. I am very thankful for the staff at this hotel. William and Ricardo went above and beyond to assist with our needs. For example, they provided excellent recommendations for where to eat or shop. Ricardo went out of his way to find us a scale to check the weight of our luggage. If you want to save money and are willing to walk to the main attractions like me; this is a great option. Overall, my mom and I had a phenomenal experience!

We traveled as a family (four people) and stayed in this hotel for three nights. The hotel is located on the third floor of the house. We arrived in the evening and the keys were already in an envelope with my name at the reception. The owners of the hotel are very friendly and kind people. Only one host speaks English. The hosts told me about the sights, restaurants nearby, and dangerous areas of Rome to visit. The breakfasts and coffee were delicious. Our room was clean, service was daily and of good quality. The room had air conditioning which is very good because it was hot in Rome. Unfortunately, our room did not have a small fridge and last night there was no hot water in the shower.

The owner and staff are excellent, professional, and kindly such that Hotel Ercoli is a gem of a place to stay. It is accommodating, safe, and centrally located. Surrounded by a very good selection of restaurants, access to mass transportation varies from 2 to 10 minutes walking distance depending on whether bus or subway is desired. And, a good variety of shopping is available as well.

I wouldn't recommend the hotel for anyone.

The water pressure in the shower was that low that was impossible to take a shower. We had only hot hot water or cold freezing water. When I went to reception to ask what is wrong with it the guy did't speak a word in English. Somehow we managed to get him to the room and show him what is wrong with he shower. He said (show) that everything is fine (!). We managed to get somebody on he phone who was speaking English. Guy on the phone said they can send an engineer in the MORNING!! Luckily we spend there only one night. I asked for the discount cause that was unacceptable. In the Morning they gave me discount of £18 Euros!! And the end we managed to pay less, but I would not recommend this hotel if you want a nice holiday in Rome.

The staff is friendly but it seems as if they clean around 3 or 4 in the morning. We could hear the elevator from our room and anyone else in the vicinity. For Rome, this is probably common but we were woken up every morning due to sounds throughout the hotel. All in all, good place close to termini and villa borghese. Very light breakfast.

Service of room lets it down. Maids left door unlocked 3 times even after we reported it. Sometimes took towels but did not replace all so we shared.

Good location for metros, 10 mins to several, and 15 to Roma Termini main station. 20 mins walk to Trevi Fountain. Lovely restaurant called Disco Volente nearby.

Great deal!

I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Ercoli. The neighborhood felt very safe and very easy to access bus to go everywhere in rome! We were given keys to the the whole building so we could come and go whatever time we wanted. The room was clean, AC and a good breakfast.

Overall i enjoyed my stay, very quiet and staff was very nice.

We really enjoyed our stay at Ercoli Hotel. We were welcomed by very nice men Thomas.the hotel is on the 3th floor. Room was medium size with small private bathroom (shower + sink + toilet). Very clean. Rooms are cleaned every day and towels are changed daily (if needed). Was also surprised with WiFi Internet connection - very good -much better than in other hotels we have stayed. Breakfast ok - tosts, cheese, ham, jams, honey, Nutella, croissants, fruits, biscuits, juices, cereals jogurts and coffee (only disappointed and surprising cappuccino was offered to Italian guests but never to us. Not sure why?). Hotel in walking distance to metro -Repubblica. Easy access to all Rome attractions. Overall we really enjoyed stay in this hotel and would recommend it to everybody.

We stayed in Ercoli Hotel for two nights. The hotel is located in a quiet street, very close to the bus stop and not too far from the Termini train station. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and nothing seemed to be a problem for them. Tomas is a lovely guy with a great sense of humour. Both rooms and hotel are clean and well kept. The buffet breakfast was the best we had during the whole trip in Italy (cheese, eggs, ham, cereals, fruits and lots more). It was the only hotel, out of the other four we stayed in, which provides tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Overall we would highly recommend this hotel.

Fantastic Budget Hotel

A really good budget hotel in a quiet location, perfect for families. In a lovely old building with marblw floors and an old-style cage-lift. Outside the main tourist areas (hence the peace) but easily walkable to the ancient ruins, Vatican, Spanish Steps etc. All rooms have a very comfortable bed, hair-dryer, shower, TV and kettle. A decent breakfast (something not provided at many budget places) too. Manager was extremely helpful too and happy to let us leave our luggage on our last day after check out so we could make the most of our time.

Rude old man at the front desk who doesn't speak E

I was ready to give Hotel Ercoli an \"avarage\" score - the location/price is ok, but rooms are tiny and there isn't a lot of staff around most of the time. But today as I was checking out I was treated horribly by the old man in the front desk. I was already annoyed by the fact that he doesn't speak any English and he seemed to think WE were the ones who should speak italian (aren't hotel staff supposed to be able to speak English?) but at least he had been trying to be nice up until this point. I talked to him the day before about paying the taxes before I checked out the next morning and he said he had no change, so if I went out for food and got change I could just pay in the morning. But it turns out I never went out, as I was tired and not hungry. So the next morning told him I just wanted to pay with my card and he flipped out, saying I should have gotten change and muttering things in italian about me. He tried to give me less change than I was supposed to get until he finally took my card and swiped it. He was seriously angry and went on and on saying things like \"it's not a million euro!\" Excuse me, but is it really my job to have change? Is it really my job to speak your language? This hotel urgently needs to hire someone more professional to deal with their guests.

Pleasant surprise behind barely visible hotel sign

Very, Very Good!!! The hotel is a small hotel on third floor of a residential building. We stayed for 8 nights.
There are no bold signs with the hotel's name or the hotel's presence at all. Don't expect to find a fancy lobby or any other public area, except for a very clean and nice dining room for the breakfast.
But we did find the most helpful and warm staff who were happy to provide answers to any questions we had, as well as good advice. The room was small, very clean, and had everything we needed, (electric kettle with cups, some tea bags and sweeteners, safe, hair dryer and e x c e l l e n t bed). It is very close to Piazza Fiume with many buses to any part of Rome, and some more buses on the streets nearby. Following the owners advice, we used the one time tickets and not the multiple day tickets. Most of the the time we walked (e.g. to the Colosseum, The Ghetto, Piazza Navona or the Spanish Steps). My opinion is that this is the best way to see and feel these friendly people and the city itself.
We definitely will stay here again if we ever visit Rome again.

This hotel is a definite keeper if you are only there for a short stay. Room was very small for a big person like myself. 6'3\" and over 250 lbs but was clean, quite and had everything a person needs for staying a short stay. You would definitely need to know where you are going to find it but our driver seemed to know Rome like the back of his hand. As we were travelling for three weeks we had a fair amount of luggage. It barely fit in the really cool lift or our room.The Price was right, accepted credit cards, continental breakfast included was great. Internet was real sketchy...... a hit and miss for sure. The only surprise was the size of the room.

Good Hotel, Good Location, Good Price

The man who works at the front desk is very nice. Every evening he made some sort of joke about having spaghetti for breakfast the following morning. My girlfriend and I are in our early 20's and we were able to walk from the hotel to any part of Rome with ease. It is approximately 2 miles from the hotel to the Vatican but there is so much to see between the two points that you don't even notice. I would suggest taking at least two days to see all of the major attractions in Rome. In one day we went from the hotel to the Spanish Steps, Piazza del Popolo, the Vatican Museums, the Sistene Chapel, St. Peters Basilica, St. Peters Square, Castel Sant'Angelo, the Pantheon, and the Trevi Fountain. In the second day we did Santa Maria in Maggiore, the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, the Roman Forum, the Trojan Column and the Trevi Fountain again, but at night. If you had three days I would suggest making the Vatican Museums and St. Peters Basilica a whole day. IT IS DEFINITELY WORTH THE FIVE EURO TO WALK THE 551 STEPS TO THE TOP OF THE BASILICA. The view from the top is amazing, you can see out over all of Rome. Bathroom was cleaned daily. Breakfast was the same every day but good, and it allowed you to eat as much as you wanted so you would be set until late in the afternoon. Hotel is on the third floor of the building, he gives you a key to the street door in case you are out in the city until late like we were. Only thing that wasn't great was the beds, they are a little hard.

Svært at få fat i hotellet telefonisk, hvilket var nødvendigt, da man skal have tilsendt instrukser til tjek ind efter kl. 14. De sendte det kl. 12, samme dag for indtjekning efter jeg havde rykket flere gange.

Køleskabet på værelset virkede ikke og blev ikke fikset selvom receptionisten sagde at de ville kigge på det.
Fjernbetjeningen virkede heller ikke.
Forfærdelig belysning på værelset.
Tapet var ved at skalle af.
Badeværelset var slidt og ville have fået mange K3’ere i Danmark.
Morgenmaden var virkelig dårlig - kaffen udrikkelig.
Til gengæld var det sødt personale, når der var nogen og rengøringen var fin.
Ikke et sted jeg vil ofre penge på igen.

Ricardo fue muy amable y nos sugirió excelentes lugares para visitar, además de explicarnos cómo llegar ahí. La habitación estuvo muy limpia y cómoda, cuenta con frigobar. La comida incluida en el desayuno igual fue muy rica. Se encuentra muy cerca de la terminal. Lo recomiendo ampliamente, sin duda volvería.

Wir haben fünf Nächte in diesem Hotel verbracht. Es war total angenehm. Nur beim Check-In hatten wir kurz Panik, da wir außerhalb der Servicezeiten dort ankamen und keiner uns zunächst die Türe aufgemacht hat. Letztendlich hat uns dann ein Hotelgast weitergeholfen. Momentan sind noch Renovierungsarbeiten, aber sonst war alles im Großen und Ganzen total in Ordnung. Weiterempfehlung 👍

The only problem encounter with that location was a very nil reception on arival. Ring at the door and nobody answer make you feel in trouble. For the rest of the experience we were plenty satisfied. Very helpfull to get a taxi to the train station even it seem a miracle to get one.

Não foi uma experiência agradável, pois a recepção só funciona na parte da manhã. Fora disso, você entra com código para a porta e a chave é deixada no corredor. Chegamos tarde e saímos cedo no dia seguinte, só voltando à noite. Nisso não tivemos contato com ninguém do hotel, parecia um local abandonado. Me enviaram e-mail o qual eu respondi, mas não obtive retorno. Tentei falar por whatsapp com um dos responsáveis pelo hotel e me disse para ligar para um número italiano que seria da recepção, mesmo eu explicando que na itália eu só tinha pacote de dados, e não de voz, de maneira que só poderia mandar mensagem por whatsapp, que o hotel não tem. Só no terceiro dia apareceu o sr. Riccardo para nos receber e cobrar a taxa turística. O café da manhã é bem simplório, sequer há uma fruta. Acho equivocado chamar de hotel, seria no máximo um B&B. Nos dias seguintes, mal aparecia alguém para prestar algum auxílio no café da manhã (ex.: máquina de café emperrou). Não foi ruim, considerando que passamos o dia na rua e só voltavamos a noite. Mas ficou uma sensação de que o hotel ficava largado.

Excelente ubicacion, las instalaciones son muy comodas y el personal del hotel es super amable y nos ayudo muchisimo en planificar los dias en roma.

Struttura posizionata molto bene per visitare la città; la struttura è semplice ma gradevole, con tutto ciò che serve x dormire e una colazione semplice. Mostra i segni delle stelle assegnate, quindi con un po’ di adattamento si trascorre bene il soggiorno.

Hotel y precios aceptables para la oferta de Roma

El desayuno fue más variado de lo que esperábamos.
Habitación básica.
Personal correcto.
En algunos momentos no había wifi (en dos de las tres noches) y había mal olor en el baño (es un edificio antiguo).

Hotel bem localizado e limpo

Hotel simples, mas bom e muito bem localizado e limpo, bem próximo à estação Termini. A cama é confortável e o tamanho do quarto, ótimo. O pequeno almoço surpreendeu positivamente. Ponto negativo vai para o chuveiro que é fraco e demora quase 10 minutos para esquentar. Podia também haver blackouts nas janelas. Recomendaria para outros viajantes, principalmente pela localização.

El check un fue excelente y hemos sido muy bien recibidos por George. La habitación es chica, pero tiene lo necesario. El desayuno muy bien. Las camas eran cómodas. El baño es pequeño. Los artículos de aseo son muy buenos. No hay limpieza diaria, solo te estiran las sábanas o es bastante deficiente

Bij aankomst sprak de receptionist geen Engels! Hij was gelukkig de enige, maar toch.
Schone, ruime kamer en badkamer.
Netjes verzorgd ontbijtbuffet.
Ik was samen met mijn zoon van 16 en waren toch alleen voor ontbijt, slapen en douchen in het hotel. Hebben niets gemist.

Fomos recebidos por um senhor que gritava conosco reclamando sobre o horário q estavamos chegando.
Ficamos sem luz logo no primeiro dia e o ar condicionado quente também não funcionava, passamos frio.
No café a moça era muito mau humorada e o café muito ruim

O hotel nao tem nenhuma indicacao de ser um hotel por fora. Achamos q estavamos no lugar errado. Quando chegamos a uma da manhã o senhor tomaso, um senhor italiano daqueles, foi super grosso. Reclamou do horario que chegamos, nao fez questao alguma de entender o que tentavamos falar, nao explicou nada direito. Foi bem chato. O quarto que ficaram meus pais, acabava a energia toda noite....uma delas minha mae estava no meio do banho no inverno e a agua ficou fria. Durante a noite os funcionários ficam todos dormindo por isso da ate vergonha de pedir alguma coisa. A unica funcionaria gentil era a ana, brasileira.O quarto era limpo mas bem pequeno. O chuveiro do meu quarto saia pouca agua.O cafe era razoavel...o wifi jao funciona. Nao voltaria a me hospedar lá...fiquei bem decepcionado.

Hotel limpo e otima recepcao

Bem foi dificil encontrar o hotel pq o predio e dividio em 2 hoteis, a placa e bem pequena e quand vc toca a campanhia eles abrem e vc nao sabe pra onde ir pois o terreo tem so o elevador. Fomos parando andar por andar ate acharmos a porta do hotel no 3 andar. A recepcionista ana é carioca e nos deu muitas dicas, inclusive sobre os golpes (se nao fosse ela teriamos caido em uns 2 la) o cafe da manha e bem servido. O quarto bem grande e o banheiro tbm ainda mais considerando o padrao europeu. Super recomendo este hotel. Passa onibus bem na rua em frente. Tem otimos restaurantes ao redor. E fica a 10 min de caminhada do termine, estacao de trem.
Ponto ruim: tivemos um problema com o chek out pois queriam nos cobrar o valor que ja havia sido pago pelo hoteis.com. mas conseguimos resolver. Mas foi uma situacao chata pq o italiano nao nos compreendia.
