My wife fell and got injured in the bath tub as it was way too deep to step in. There was no anti slip mat or anything to hold while stepping in or out. I slipped a bit too but luckily did not fell.
Toilet was not functioning properly either.
The debit machine did not work to get our payment. The receptionist ask me to pay it online booking. Next morning. They charge us for city taxes and breakfast as they told us internet price did not include both. Had we know it, we would have left this haunted place without breakfast. We do not recommend this place at all.

Hotel has no air conditioning and very dated and rundown. Cannot be a 4 stars rating with today's standards. Tv has no channel and the room has no AC, we had to open the window to be able to sleep at night, which in return, invited mosquitos to have free dinner while we were asleep. Receptionist lady wasn't too friendly neither compared to other hotels we've been to.

At my arrival I did smell some fresh paint, when I told the front desk about it in friendly way, I was told there is no smell, and you’re not supposed to smell it in a sarcastic way. What a great start at the front desk.
Then the guy behind the desk gave the room keys to the bellman I followed him, the room was not ready.
I went for a walk for few minutes without even a word.
The checkout was great, very professional and with a smile.

Blood stains and cigarette burns on bedding.

Blood stain and cigarette burns on the bedding. When asked reception if we could change room we were told none is available. We asked for bedding to be changed and were told it can happen at 18.00. We asked at 16.00. When we came back from dinner at 21.00 nothing was changed. The hotel is pretty run down. Hotel is not very clean.

Great location right next to the Medina. But beyond that, I would NOT call this place 4 stars. The bed was very shaky for 2 people, the bathroom was quite dirty, the flooring was all tile, the building is quite dilapidated. I had to place tissue paper in the door to stop it from making noise due to the wind and the toilet ran all night. This place should be 3 star max.

The property is very old and not renovated.
There are no stairs.
I booked a suite.
It was sooo dirty, the balcony like never opened. No internet, phone, no cooler, I had walk down 3 floors to go to front if I just need an extra towel.
It was a horrible experience and no even said we are sorry.

The hotel is in a great spot. Close to the beach and the medina.
I’m sure it will be a great place in the summer.
We went just before new year (winter) and was really quiet.

The hotel overall is a bit tired.

Great location, breakfast and nice property

The room was nice. Clean. Great breakfast buffet and location as on the beach as right beside the medina. Only thing I did not like was the rooms were hot even if cool outside. If no air conditioning in the room it would be a good idea to have windows or doors with screens to allow cool air to circulate in the rooms and still allowing your guests to feels secure with sleeping with the windows or doors open or invest in air conditioning units in the rooms. It was difficult to sleep comfortably at night as the rooms were too hot and not in a millions years would I be crazy enough to sleep in a room in a hotel while leaving the doors wide open.

We were severely disappointed with this hotel. For the rate we paid, we were expecting a clean, comfortable, well kept hotel. Unfortunately upon checking in, we were directed to our rooms which were out the back, not connected to the main hotel. They more resembled a motel. The rooms we clean, but aged and outdated. The gardens and paths are unkept with weeds and grass growing from all areas. The external condition of the hotel looks nothing like the photos. The building is run down, and needs a lot of work to bring it up to scratch. We stayed one night and cancelled the following two which we had booked. We won’t be recommending this hotel.

The hotel is very well located, the staff are friendly and professional. Special attention and care by the waiters at the breakfast room. The super bungalow with view on the pool and garden is an excellent choice.

My wife and booked a long weekend at the hotel. The position was excellent being next to the old town, the beach and nearby restaurants that served alcohol.The hotel itself had obviously seen better days. Whist the location and the size of the rooms was fine and everything worked it was looking very tired and in desperate need of some modernisation and decor. Breakfast was very basic and if you arrived later there was little left. There was also a nightclub attached which was very noisy so light sleepers be prepared.That said in the chalets away from the main hotel it was not too bad .Overall for the price we paid we could not complain..

Hotel Des Iles is a fairly basic hotel which is starting to show it's age but it is in the perfect location to go to and from the medina for meals and shopping, for this reason alone we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again

Great location if you want to be out of the busy city. About a 10 minute walk to Jemaa El Fna. Good buffet breakfast, decent restaurant, and friendly staff. Also very safe as the hotel is surrounded by a wall and has security at the front gate. Overall I very much enjoyed the stay.

Excellent choice for Essaouria Relaxing/Shopping

I have stayed at Hotel des Iles for more than 20 years and this was the first time in the main building. Rooms had been remodeled, new decor, new locks on door, great bathroom-- esp. big tub and excellent shower. Room of sufficient size for comfort and mobility. I saw the rooms around the pool that I always used to stay in and while larger, due to wet season it was far better to stay in main hotel. Restaurant was expensive and we ate there only once as a result; breakfast was fine with combination of Moroccan and Western breakfast choices. Excellent for convenience to beach and to souks and medina.

Les crevettes sautées à l’ail et au persil était en fait des crevettes en boîte. Pour Essaouira c’est une honte.
Les beignets de calamars nous ont été servis froids nous avons demandé à ce qu’ils les refassent, ils les ont simplement réchauffés au micro-ondes.

hôtel très vieux, à rénover absolument. Nous avons changé de chambre car les prises étaient sorties du mur. La deuxième chambre pas d'eau chaude, le flexible de douche laissé passer l'eau, on nous l'a changé, le robinet d'eau chaude du lavabo ne coulait pas (pas d'eau) le plombier est venu changer le système complet du lavabo. La fenêtre de chambre ne fermait pas car cassée, pas de lampe au dessus de la table de la chambre. Télévision limitée, car une seule chaine française sur les 7 disponibles. Certains personnels désagréables. Incident avec un barman, qui n'a rien compris à la commande. S'étant trompé il nous dit de garder les boissons servies par erreur et qu'il nous apporte celle qui fallait ; il nous demandait 10 dirhams de plus pour avoir cette boisson. Nous avons fait une réclamation écrite à l’hôtel et le responsable de l’hôtel a remis les choses en place avec le barman. Il y avait de la peinture argentée sur les meubles des chambre, on s'en mettait plein les mains, la baignoire était en mauvais état, des rustines grossières ont été faites dans cette baignoire. Très cher pour cet hôtel qui est dans un état miteux. Je regrette ce voyage. Je n'aurais pas payé d'avance, je serais partie dès le lendemain.

Hotel práctico

El hotel está situado a escasos minutos a pie del centro de Essaouira y a primera linea de costa. El hotel es correcto, el único problema es que en su momento las habitaciones debieron estar muy bien y ahora han quedado anticuadas (en especial los baños).
El servicio fue muy correcto y el ambiente es muy tranquilo y silencioso. El parking gratuito es muy útil.
La humedad de Essaouira pasa una mala jugada al hotel ya que las habitaciones huelen un poco mal y hay que ventilar bastante.
En definitiva, un hotel correcto en el que deberían realizar algunas modernizaciones de los baños.

Hotellet ligger lige ved havneområder lige ved siden af medianen og med flere gode restauranter og spisesteder i gåafstand. Hotellet er opdelt i decideret hotel med værelser og en del med bungalows/rækkeværelser rundt om en udendørs swimmingpool, hvor man kan, hvis man er i bil, kan parkere lige udenfor sin bungalow. Kan bruge en opdatering men alt i alt et hyggeligt og stille hotel som kan opfylde de flestes behov og for os en god oplevelse.

There was no hot water for a shower, the stuff is not friendly at all and they do not help if you ask something... the rooms are very old and the breakfast was very bad.....
