This stately quinta enjoys an idyllic location on a rocky plateau above the cliffs, amidst vineyards and wonderful gardens on the outskirts of Santana. The hotel offers unique views of the sea and surrounding coastal area.

Santana's center, with its many shopping and entertainment venues, is just 2 km away. Funchal is approximately 32 km from the hotel, and Faial Beach is a short 10-minute drive.

The airport is about 45 minutes away (approximately 20 km). This comfortable, three-story hotel comprises 45 exclusive rooms: 39 double rooms, four junior suites, and two villas.

Facilities include an elegant foyer with 24-hour reception and lifts, a bar, a café, a cozy lounge with a fireplace, a reading and games room, and an à la carte restaurant with excellent cuisine and highchairs. Housed in a lovingly restored manor house, the hotel also boasts a well-stocked wine cellar with a historical wine press.

Guests can make use of the public internet terminal and laundry service. Car parking is also available.

A traditional Madeiran thatched roof house is an additional charming amenity. Each comfortable room features an en suite bathroom with a hairdryer, direct-dial telephone, cable TV, a safe, and central heating.

Select rooms have a balcony. Please note: From February 15th to April 30th, construction will be confined to the new building.

The structure of the new wing will be complete, and this period will focus on the final finishes of the 20 new superior rooms. Work will take place from Monday to Saturday (excluding bank holidays).

Most Relaxing hotel in Madeira

This stay was the perfect hotel for relaxation, away from the madness of Funchal. It gave us a perfect base to tour the island. It gave us the chance to cover many levada walks and tour the island by car ( a car is essential if you want to explore).
The hotel ran many other sessions including rum punch making, wine tasting and botanical tours. The facilities includes a freshwater pool, indoor pool, jacuzzi and sauna as well as spa facilities.
Staff cannot do enough for you and the breakfast has many fresh options. Every room has nespresso coffee machine and pods and the room receives a couple of handmade chocolates daily- a lovely touch.
Another practical touch is the dressing gowns, slippers and beach towels for pool use.
The views are second to none and the service was fantastic- I would definitely return here.

The resort is beautiful, the food was delicious. The best breakfast we have had on the island. Lovely ambiance with the dramatic cliff views and vineyards. A typical colmo is on premises, which is a nice touch. The shower is a good size, great water pressure. The AC works well. The beds are better than in other hotels we’ve stayed at on Madeira.

Laundry service was available but priced per item. No A/C but with windows open and a fan was not bad even at end of August. Highly recommend- one of our best stays ever.

An absolute must in the Santana region!

This hotel was our ‘splash’ for the trip and it absolutely delivered. Very friendly and professional welcome at the Reception desk, checked in early with no qualms at all, beautifully clean rooms with good amenities and amazing views. We loved the cliff side location with views over the dramatic Madeira’s coast. Impressive breakfast spread tended by staff who were very well trained. We enjoyed the pool/ hot tub though felt a little rushed after the day as it closed at 8pm… perhaps 9pm would give guests the opportunity to enjoy after a busy days walking / exploring. We visited in early March and the weather was changeable but the hotel was a welcome haven to relax away from the elements. We ate at the bar and the portions were huge. Very much enjoyed the evening guitarist who made the atmosphere relaxed and very pleasant. We would return tomorrow, especially during the summer, when the outdoor pool amongst the vineyards would be an extra treat. Thankyou. It was a lovely stay

Staggeringly gorgeous views, very friendly staff and really pretty property. Clean hotel room and I'd stay again, however, I would stay in cooler weather. The hotel does not have air conditioning and our room was stifling hot since there was no breeze. Two fans were put in our room, which helped for sleeping, but still quite hot during the afternoons and while getting ready for dinner. Overall, enjoyed my stay, and loved the views.

Beautiful setting and nice rooms. Reception staff could be friendlier and more professional. For example, there is a difference between “take a seat” and “please have a seat” (during check in). Indoor pool is quite small. Outdoor was not working. Sauna is outdated and mouldy. Nice breakfast and breakfast staff.

We had a lovely two nights stay here and were made to feel very welcome by all the staff. We signed up for Madeiran wine tasting 30 minutes after our arrival - great start. They have their own vineyard here so were very knowledgeable.
The restaurant was fantastic and they helped us out with an excellent but reasonably priced wine. Breakfast was also good with lovely views over the cliff and a great selection of fresh local produce that differed slightly each day.
Night two was a poncha making class...as we were the only two there was more than enough to sample!

The view at this hotel is all its claimed to be and the rooms are very spacious with excellent views from any balcony. But it appeared to us in February that the weather on the north of the island is not as good as in Funchal. A car is essential, but beware that turning off the main road not well signed. Restaurant was truly excellent (with a local menu also available) and not expensive despite reports we'd seen elsewhere. Only poor mark is the uninformative reception we received and lack of information on arrival, we were left to figure out hotel services and restaurant location on our own. Breakfast room and choice was excellent.

Le bâtiment, mêlant harmonieusement tradition et modernité, est à la fois magnifique et fonctionnel. Notre chambre était spacieuse, confortable et décorée avec goût, offrant une retraite parfaite après une journée d'exploration de l'île.
Le restaurant de l'hôtel est véritablement l'un des meilleurs de l'île. Nous avons été enchantés par la qualité exceptionnelle des plats, mettant en valeur les saveurs locales avec une touche de raffinement. Le service était impeccable, ajoutant une dimension supplémentaire à notre expérience culinaire.

Das Personal aufmerksam und zuvorkommend - insbesondere auch zu Kindern. Die Ausstattung des Hotels mit Pools (innen und außen) und den weiteren Angeboten sind super.
