The lady on reception was very miserable not approchable got to room and we had worst view i ever had room 113 auful then heating keep going off so i asked reception by phone for extra blanket as was freezing but said they had none she never even tried to help so was cold night i

Room.was clean and tidy and modern. Bit of a strange hotel as my room was directly above a bar, no blinds on window to front so had to have curtains constantly drawn or would of been a peep show. Very noisy at night from bar and road with ourside noise. Had to go over road for breakfast to another hotel, the gym was a 10 minite walk and not on site. Over all clean, but wouldn't stay again.

Probably one of the better hotels in Southport… but…
Sadly: breakfast was in a sister hotel, not onsite.
Rooms quite noisy due to ineffective soundproofing - especially noisy doors at night and in the mornings.
Most staff were lovely.
I merely booked another longer staff but hotels.com showed at least 6 rooms for my stay period but the lady on reception said they were full ! Who was wrong!
So decent hotel - just need door closers, better showers and accommodate breakfast in the Grand rather than in the pub nearby.

Stunning hotel, fabulous roof terrace

Beautiful room, lovely hotel, immaculately decorated. Harry’s roof bar is a fantastic, delicious cocktails at reasonable prices. As note you are supposed to book the roof terrace online. We’d definitely recommend a stay here, fab hotel and location

Room is either entirely exposed (when curtains are open everyone outside can see everything in the room) or very dark when curtains are closed.

It was good having the sports bar below the hotel, though it did sometime mean the receptionist was busy sering in the bar. The room was freezing when we arrived and the aircon heating kept switching off after 30mins. Relied on the batroom radiator to heat the whole room. The room itself was spacious for a cosy/small room and it was clean and nicely decorated. My wife particularly like the electric shower. The corridors were a bit of a maze with little signage to get you to reception. Glad there wasn't a fire.

3 day short break

Short 3 day stay. Have stayed in this hotel before so knew it was ok. Staff are very good and friendly. Location is excellent right on Lord Street. I was put in an accessible room this time which i didn't need or ask for but it wasn't a problem. The bed was comfortable and the shower was a wet room. A couple of very small issues, one was no hooks anywhere so nowhere to hang towels or a cap. Also the bathroom didn't have the 2 pin shaver socket so couldn't recharge my electric toothbrush.

Lovely room and lovely staff. The average rating is due to loud music until 12.30 and then noisy people outside until late. Had I known we were staying over an Irish pub, I would not have booked. This needs to be made clear on site. We left a night early.

Lord Street Hotel Review

If you want a quiet location do not book this hotel. My room was on the first floor above Punch Tarmey's, a lively loud noisy bar. I have no trouble this this but what I do have trouble with is that it is allowed to be open until the early hours. I had gone to Southport to attend a funeral with my sister and her husband and had requested that we were put into rooms next door or close by, this was not accommodated which was not ideal. The hotel rooms have undergone significant renovations and were very pleasant however I did report a light out in the bathroom on my first night which was not attended to and upon checkout a couple of days later reported that a second one had gone which made the bathroom very dark. The location on Lord Street is good and although there is parking at the back of the hotel in a Tap2Park car park the cost if you are staying in the hotel is reduced to £8.20 per night which is still very expensive, if you are there for a few days you have to factor this into the cost of your hotel stay. We stayed in a B&B in July last year and the parking was free.

We very much enjoyed our stay, our room was very good with excellent views of Lord Street and all the staff where very welcoming and helpful, slightly on the negative the room was in some respects not very functional ie. Lighting around dressing table and in bathroom over bowl was poor, also when sitting at the dressing table you cannot see into the mirror which is too high, nevertheless we would probably stay again on our next visit to Southport.

This hotel is ideally situated lovely decor spotlessly clean however we was situated on the top floor the room was claustrophobic and there was too many stairs and they have a lift which only goes to floor 1 so be aware if your put on the 3rd floor. Our check in wasn’t very informative however when checking out we spoke to a very helpful lady called Claudia who told us we should have requested to change rooms. It was my husband’s birthday and we wanted to check in and get out as we had a table booked at a nearby Greek taverna but I so wish we had complained about the room as my husband banged his head twice and he’s only 5ft 8ins!!

Welcoming hotel but awful bed.

We chose to stay in the Lord Street hotel to for a night away to celebrate our wedding anniversary. On arrival the lady on reception was very welcoming and the inital impression of the hotel was very good. We had paid for an upgraded room with a larger bed at the point of booking and on entering the room, again all seemed great.
The evening went fantastic and we had one of the best meals ever at a really nice resturant on Lord Street. Unfortunately when it came to the nights sleep, that was where things changed as this has to be one of the worst beds I've ever slept in. The bed was made up of 2 smaller mattresses and although the gap between the mattresses is not ideal, the height difference between the 2 matresses was unbelievable. Lets say if you wanted to visit the other half of the bed, you would either roll down to the lower side or have to almost climb back to the higher side. After a terrible nights sleep and alot of \"Alright down there/alright up there\" jokes, we complained to the hotel on check out and showed the receptionist the photos, she said a manager would call us back but they never did, we then emailed the hotel with the issue and included the photos but again, no response.
To sum up, great hotel in the middle of the town, welcoming staff but make sure you check the bed out before relaxing for the night. Shame the manager failed to follow up on the complaint.

If you are wanting a nice place to sleep, this is not a place for you. Room is nice but not quiet at all. Live music just below us lasted beyond midnight and then the loud crowd went until 230am. Sleeping and playing an early round of golf won’t happen here. Stay somewhere else if you want to be rested for an early start.

The hotel bar had a bad smell as s drain must have been damaged.
The bed wasnt a king size bed but 2 singles pushed together and they differed in height so was uncomfortable. The room was overall clean and the staff were very friendly.
