I stayed at Delmont Hotel after needing a local place for a wedding — it was the last available room, and after reading the reviews and welcome emails, I expected a good experience. On arrival, there was no parking outside. I called reception as I’m not local to ask about nearby parking and was told there wasn’t any - I ended up finding a pay-and-display car park around a 4-minute walk away.

At reception, a guest was complaining that a staff member had entered her room and said she no longer felt safe staying there, which wasn’t a great first impression.

The room itself was extremely small, especially for £100 per night. There was mould in the shower, a used towel left hanging up, dirty bathroom surfaces, cobwebs and holes in the wall. There was also no fan or air conditioning. During the night, I woke up several times because the walls were very thin and I could hear conversations from neighbouring rooms.

Very disappointed with this hotel & will not be returning. I’ve contacted the hotel directly and I’m waiting for a response.

The location is great , view fantastic but the room was dated, carpets have shrank off the gripper extractor fan in the bathroom sounds like a tractor engine until it gets warmed up ,
If it was cheap you could put up with it but at £150 a night i think we’d have got better

When I arrived in Scarborough by train I used the Google maps on my phone to find this hotel since I wasn't sure where it's location was. Staff customer service skills were fantastic. There was a lift inside the hotel, which I only used twice. I wasn't a fan of that lift. On 19/6 when I first wanted to use it I was having a problem with getting the lift to work, a member of staff on the reception desk shown me how to close the lift door. I wasn't sure how to use the blind in my bathroom of my room, I tried a few times on my first night but gave up with it. There was a landline phone in my room but I never used it. There was no numbers to make contact with the staff downstairs even if I wanted to use that landline phone. The signal for listening to the radio through the TV wasn't the best. I didn't have any problems getting the shower to work. My room was spacious & very clean. The price of the beer at the hotel was a little bit over priced. There was a black box on the reception desk to put your key in when you check out

For context. Stayed here after a Paul Weller concert. The hotel decided the appropriate price for a small double room the night should be £259.01 (excluding breakfast). I get that they were maximising their opportunity but....at best this is a £100-£125 per night hotel.
Don't know when the stair wells, corridors and bedrooms were last decorated ( 20 years ago?) - probably the same time as the stair carpets were properly cleaned to remove stains.
On check in found our bathroom had not been cleaned . Lots of hair in shower, dirty sink and toilet. This was attended to after we reported it - but it should have been done before we checked in. Part used small bottles of shampoo and shower gel were left around the bathroom and were still there after it was cleaned. Grim build up of grim on outside of shower enclosure (even after cleaning). Large shower broken but smaller one was OK.
Well located above the cliffs and a handy for the Open Air Theatre but would not stay again.

Top floor walls paper thin every conversation and toilet visit audible especially after a wedding party finishing at 00.30, other guests not caring. Shower cubicle tiles broken sealant black and soaps not new. bottles half refilled. Dust everywhere carpet dirty poor quality coffee in rooms. No one around at check out to advise of issues

Having stayed at this hotel previously,we were hoping for a pleasant enjoyable stay as we had before. How wrong could we be, The room we were allocated was dirty so much so my partner went around the room with wet wipes to remove dust and filth from surfaces and mirrors.In the bathroom the lino flooring hadn't been mopped and the skirting boards haven't been cleaned for the past 6months I would say.The shower door leaks and the sealant around the bath is loose and as got black mould on it...The extractor fan was clogged with dust meaning it doesn't work and again hasn't been cleaned in ages.When staying in hotels the minimum we expect is cleanliness and this room was a disgrace, it's obvious nobody is checking the rooms after the cleaners have been in...

Initially well presented hotel with welcoming/helpful receptionist. Bedroom had great view over North Bay and the castle.

The public rooms downstairs had clearly been recently updated. The bedrooms were in need of similar attention. Functional (basic wardrobe, small desk) at best with the bathroom finishes requiring attention (gaps around the toilet soil pipe and a minute shelf above the basin. That said, all the plumbing worked as required.

This property appears to be a functional 2 star establishment, that's clean enough, &, efficiently run by its staff.

Whilst the cuisine is excellent, I believe, that having to pay for each evening dinner on top of the basic cost of accommodation (£243 in my case staying for 5 nights), when, compared to staying at the Grand Hotel in Scarborough, where, I stayed for the same duration during July last year, costing £425.00 single supplement half board.

My overall experience of staying in the Delmont Hotel leaving considering returning to the Grand Hotel.

The Delmont hotel is a clean and well managed hotel with friendly and helpful staff on duty 34 hours . The room i stayed in was a little on the small size but served its purpose as a base for a weekend stay , the bathroom was upto date with both a standard shower head and rainfall head room also had all tea/coffee facilities on the downside the window would not open so there was a lack of ventilation when warm . The hotel also offers a eat all you can breakfast for a small charge and also has a restaurant serving traditional and sea food meals .

This hotel has a really nice welcoming atmosphere. It is a big place and they are in the process of making lots of ongoing improvements. It’s clear to see how much they care about providing a good service and good customer experience to their guests. It’s an amazing location with gorgeous views over north bay. I would definitely stay here again

Great staff can not fault them but the budget rooms just too small . Window did not open so i cud not get any air in . Ok only there 4 nights but no clean towel , bins stayed full . Breakfast was lovely no problems there and a nice little bar with a sea view, just those budget rooms no good .

On arrival we checked in 30 mins early which was good. Got a good parking space outside.
We had a sea view so I was very happy with that.
We went to room and the cleaners had left their clothes, dirty cups and dirty towels in our room. We also didn’t have any bath towels in our room. I went to reception and reported this and they did apologise and bring all fresh. Very quickly.
Later that night we found a receipt from a week ago, so I do question the cleanliness as a whole. Which considering they allow dogs is a worry in my opinion.
The room was pretty basic and very dated. Def needs some tlc.
There was a blackout blind at the window but unfortunately when the sun came up at 6am it shone round the edges and woke us up. Maybe some curtains would be a god idea!!
Overall an average stay but prob wouldn’t return.

Clean spacious room with a great view of the beach, sea and castle. Walking to the busy front is about 30/40 mins if via the coast walk or 10/15 minutes if via steep walk through the streets at the rear of the hotel. Friendly helpful staff, a staff member actually ran out of the hotel to put our parking permit in the car to thwart a zealous traffic warden. A decent buffet breakfast with cereal, fruit,toast or cooked full English available. Would stay here again.

The staff as always were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room had a beautiful dual aspect with a bay on each wall giving a clear view across the stunning North Bay. The room was clean and fairly recently decorated, with new blinds etc. I would not call it delux as the shower needed the sealant steaming to get the black of it. The blinds were very high and difficult to close. Some of the drawers had the handles missing, the furniture was good quality but tired a good wax would go along way to improving that. The tea coffee was very basic for what people expect these days.
Having said all that I would go back as we have visited before and our comments are always noted so we are seeing more improvements every time we go.

As a last minute one night booking for a budget double room we were satisfied with the accommodation.
The room although dated and a little shabby (curtains and paintwork) was clean and comfortable.
Location was good and the staff that we saw were friendly and helpful.
We had a fabulous sea view which we did not expect with a budget room.
We would stay here again for an odd night or two.

The downstairs bar, restaurant and toilets are well designed, modern newly decorated and clean. The staff brilliant, friendly and welcoming, good entertainment.
Our room disappointing, needed decorating, shower room old fashioned mismatched, the basin had a huge crack across it and the shower sealant mould stained. Our curtains were hanging off. The room walls were so thin we could hear conversations in the next room and when they plugged in a socket I thought they were coming through the wall. It was difficult to relax in such surroundings.

Room was budget standard, as we expected. Maybe replace light tube over dressing table mirror or remove light fitting? Table in lounge sticky with spilt sugar.

We could not use the wardrobe it was broken and damp. The shower had wires uncovered and was leaking. The sink taps were disgusting and there was a loose electric socket. Toilet door was broken no lock. We wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.
