We booked 2 rooms for 4 nights. Bathroom in each room was old, moldy and hairs from previous occupancies were found everywhere near the drain.

Check out was quick but checking in was not a smooth process. For this 1 or 2 stars hotels, we got what we paid for as we didn't expect any higher standard.

Very poor experience.
Both the room and bathroom had a strong mold smell, making the stay uncomfortable. The air conditioning could only be turned on or off by the front desk, with no control in the room. The Wi-Fi did not work at all, and the mobile phone signal was extremely weak. Basic comfort standards were not met. I do not recommend this hotel.

Wouldn't really recommend very old hotel, can add a bit more and stay in a much cleaner hotel, the place was very dirty, came to stay overnight but had to check out without staying the night,
Housekeeping staff very rude, requested for an extra bed sheet as there was a spil but they were so rude and refused to give, when clearly I could see he had a pile on his trolley.

Very basic condition ( you get what you paid for)toilet and shower in poor conditions. Room is make up as requested but floor is not swept or cleaned. Only make the bed and fresh towels are supplied. Close to MRTs and food court or restaurants are pros.

I had a great experience staying here. The staff were always friendly, helpful, and made me feel welcome throughout my stay. The atmosphere is comfortable and relaxed, making it a perfect choice for long-term stays. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, and all the basic facilities were available. Terrible stay at this hotel. Very tiny room, not very clean, very bad smell in the bathroom, smells like mold. There are inappropriate people visiting and making inappropriate noises in this hotel all the time. Area is very good, close to many good restaurants.

I don’t recommend this place specifically people from US. We got room that doesn’t have window to be cheaper but it was worst experience I ever had. The room was very small only one bed and small drawer was there no closet or anything to organize your clothes. The restroom and shower is same smaller restroom. The surroundings are not clean and everywhere was mold. The AC was always in and you don’t have control nothing works on AC and it’s right on top of the bed which blows on you all night. The worst was the smell. When you enter the hotel it smells like a restaurant kitchen and in the rooms very heavy smell. I can’t explain how I spend my night there. They stuff did not even welcome the people just hanging the key and that’s all. I travel a lot and this was the worst experience that I had.

The facilities were very near the transport and eatery places which was good but the room was too cold beyond some of us especially in the night and i was so uncomfortable because of the freezing cold AC that was unadjustable making my nights a nightmare even after reporting to the reception desk

A great location! Convenience store, food court right next door. ( pYou can get the free hotel Wi-Fi from those locations!). A .3 and .6 mile walk to two subway stops. You get the feel of city life in this active neighborhood. Great price. I’m staying here next time.

Asking for non smoking room when check in whole room smells cigarette no window at all. Complain to receptionist said is non smoking room but still smells cigarette. Cannot sleep at all because I allergic to cigarettes smells. My skin got rashes and my nose and I got migraine all night long. Very bad experience. Why no enforcement on smoking restrictions please consider because some people got allergic to smoking smells.

Situated next to Cheers Minimart, walking distant direction left, right and back of hotel full of food choices from casual local coffee shops to upclass cafe dinning all within walking distance. You can also walk to MRT, which will pass by big supermarket, Burger King, Macdonalds, bakery and more food choices.

Room in a box

The room we had has no window so if you are claustrophobic this place is not for you. It was like a room in a box. However, AC works good. Bed was comfortable. It was 10min walk frok MTR Bendemeer station. From the MRT you just walk towards Lavender, cross it and go down on the right 2 blocks. We were able to do an early check in and late check
so can’t complain about that.

Great place for people on a budget.

It was okay. Quite cheap for a room for two, considering how expensive Singapore is. The a/c was also good, the toilet was clean, the room was as shown in the pics. Also nearby Bendemeer and Lavender MRT, and some cheap hawker centers.

It was a nice experience of staying in Hotel 81 Elegance. I went to Singapore with my friend and stayed in the hotel for 4 days. The staff was so accommodating, specially Mr. Kim Cheng, who provided us infos on where and how to go to roam around Singapore while you commute. The MRT was a bit far though from the hotel 15-20 minutes walk, but buses are nearby, but I would suggest to use MRT or at late night use taxis. Singapore is the cleanest country i have ever been and it is very safe. The hotel was very clean, the rooms and the lobby itself. Will definitely recommend to my friends. Keep it up and best of luck!

Play to Stay Away when You Are Away

one of the horrible paces to stay. Smelly rooms and corridor, No refrigerators in the room and NO WINDOWS, yes not even mentioned in their room listing, as room pictures are with windows but it's upto them, whether they want to allocate you windows room or not. So you may end up in a dark windowless room with horrendous smell in the room and awful foul smell in washroom.

You pay for what you get. And it really depends on what purpose you came for.
I came for taking an exam, and found the rooms were inadequate for me. The room smelled bad and was constantly damp. At 230 AM on day 2, a group of girls came and knocked on every door on my floor and kept shouting something in Chinese I didn't understand. They left after an hour but really ruined my sleep. The walls are very thin here and you can here a lot.
The bathroom is typical with a shower and toilet in the same area and the room is sometimes not cleaned very well.
Overall not a bad place if you are planning to spend all your time outside the hotel, have good ear plugs, and can get used to a dank, musty smell.

Overall stay was good. Service was vet good, no issue with the staff or reception. It was fairly comfortable although the room had no windows or ventilation. The floors were tiles so it gets cold. The only floor mat was not very absorbent so it wasn't very comfortable leaving the bathroom with wet feet. The bathroom is small but that was fine, it's just that the whole bathroom gets wet after a shower.

Air conditioning, lighting, and bedding were good. There's only 1 small sidetable with a tray for kettle, mugs and water, and a phone. There isn't enough table surface area for other things and trinkets I had. Appreciated that the room came equipped with a hairdryer though and irons were available upon request. Would come again and recommend this place.

Good value, good staff and in an interesting area.

I've stayed here quite a few times, the hotel is part of a budget chain and the rooms and facilities are functional rather than luxurious. I've always found the staff to be most helpful and the Lavender area has many interesting food and drink outlets. There is an 24 hours convenience store next door, the SRMT station is only about 250 yrds away and the bus stop is just across the street. For the price I paid I found that the hotel met all my needs and I've always found the staff to be friendly and helpful.
