Decent location but overbooked & poorly managed. They downgraded my studio room with kitchenette to a deluxe room the day of check-in. Front desk said they will “provide a partial refund” but getting that refund through expedia has been a headache. Property doesn’t respond to calls. Would not recommend.

Communal kitchen was a great addition which we didn’t realise was included when booking.

Only improvement would be cost of clothes washer and dryer. Seemed expensive for the service provided. Also one towel was dirty on arrival but was changed without issue the next day.

My friend and I stayed for two nights in a twin shared room. The room was modern, spacious, and had air conditioning, which was perfect for the Singapore heat. The bathroom was also modern and surprisingly large for the price we paid, and it included a bidet.

We appreciated the communal kitchen and lounge area on Level 4, where we could refill our water bottles with filtered water. On our last day, we needed to do laundry before heading to another country, and it was very convenient to have a washer and dryer in the basement. The machines had a coin dispenser, and the washing machine didn’t require detergent as it was already built in. Our clothes came out smelling great. It cost $8 SGD to wash and another $8 to dry, so we combined our laundry to save on costs, which worked out well.

The staff were also fantastic. Winson at reception was especially helpful. One of the machines took our money but didn’t work, and he kindly refunded us so we could use another. He was friendly and accommodating throughout our stay.

It’s also just a 2-minute walk to Farrer Park Station, which connects to other MRT lines, making it easy to get to Chinatown, Harbourfront, Marina Bay, Gardens by the Bay, and Merlion Park. City Square Mall is also just 2 minutes away, which is super handy for lunch, dinner, shopping, groceries, and pharmacy needs.

Overall, our experience at Owen House really added to our visit to Singapore. I will definitely stay here again when I return.

All overall, really great place. Rooms are basic but clean. Corridors are quite tatty but you dont sleep in corridors so doesnt matter, just mentioning so it not a surprise. Hotel in safe area, close to LRT stop. All Staff were supoer helpful. Overall great find for price. We would definitely stay again.

Being at the centre of Singapore it was easy to get around the country. A few minutes away from any food outlet or train station is a blessing. Sheets are cleaned every few days and no interrupsions to your peaceful sleep. Cheap price for such a great location. Definitely would book it again.

Mall just across the road with supermarket. Lots of food options around. 24hr Indian food court just across. MRT Exit and bustop just 2 min walk away.

The hotel is aesthetically very pleasing and comfortable. For a small room it provides most of everything you need.

The bathroom was really nice. A good amount of space with bidet and shower cabin separated by glass door.

The only thing I didn't like so much was the pillows. It was too soft for me. Other than that, it was a very pleasant stay.

Shout out to Elfa, who remembered my name and addressed me with it! Appreciate the personal touch!

Our stay at this hotel was bot at all what wr expected we ended up leaving s night early due to getting a riom with no window when yhe picture on our booking clearly had a window. The white walls were covered in black marks the bathroom tiles were chipped they was a small rip in the bedding the hallway leading up to our room was dark and dingy. When we told the staff we were leaving early they didn’t even question it and ask why or how are stay was ? Not impressed that we had to pay an extra $550 to change hotel, when what we booked and what we ended up with were clearly not the same.

Clean, comfy, safe and friendly accommodations for singles, couples or families looking to enjoy Singapore's sights and amenities without the downtown luxury pricing of some other options. Alternate-day room cleaning and no overnight staff make for an economy stay, and there's nothing to miss with cafes, groceries, transit and shopping malls just steps outside the door. All guests have access to common kitchenettes, a board room and a small workspace in the lobby. The hotel was decorated in beautiful simplistic taste. Quite lovely. The amenities were simple. The towels were nice, but no face cloth was offered. The front desk was helpful. Staff were really friendly and welcoming however, the bed was a little hard and rooms were not sound proof so you could hear other guest members screaming during the night. Additionally the room I stayed had blocked off window which made the room a little claustrophobic. Even though these experience did hinder my overall rating of the stay, the location of the hotel was great it was next to the blueline (downtown). It was an okay hotel for what you pay for

Subway station access is nearby, a long with a shopping and convenient stores to get essentials. The hotel itself is very simple with minimal amenities but it has decent cleanliness in the rooms and while the concierge is not full service or 24/7, they are courteous & provide you with afterhours contact if you need assist.

They have a couple of common room/lounges with shared kitchenette, bathroom and TV. This space could be cleaner but it wasn't that bad. Pretty good for an average budget and the rooms were cute/spacious.

Our stay at Owen House was fantastic.
The rooms are spacious and well equipped with good knives so you can actually cook, which came handy to us. The location is prime, next to the MRT and many bus lines, and across from a Mall which was fantastic.
Sandra and the staff in general are amazing and very welcoming.
I can't recommend enough. For the price and what you get, it's fantastic for Singapore!

The location of the hotel is right next to Little India Night Market. However, the walk from the hotel to the LITTLE INDIA MRT station is quite long and complicated, it would be hard for you to find your way without using google maps. The closest MRT station is FARRER PARK, it is a 1 minute walk from the hotel.

While the interior of the hotel is pretty stylish, the rooms lacked a lot of necessities such as tissue, slippers, cue tips... etc. While the room looked clean, I still had my doubts. (It just didn't feel clean, although it did look like it was)

Overall, it was not a bad experience but I probably wouldn't go back if I visited Singapore again as it seems like there are a lot of different options for a similar price.

I would avoid at all costs.

We checked in after 10pm and were given a horrific room that had obviously not been cleaned/checked by housekeeping and which did not match the description of the room booked. It had twin beds, instead of the queen bed booked, and frosted windows with no view, instead of the clear windows shown in the photos of the room. The ventilation grilles and windows were extremely dusty and looked like they had not been cleaned in years. One of shower gel dispensers was broken and the safe could not be used because it had been left open in the locked position.

I immediately went back downstairs to the check-in desk and asked to change rooms but was told I could only do so in the morning. We thus had to make do but there was a continuous mechanical/ventilation noise that got increasingly louder through the night and affected our sleep.

In the morning, we were able to get a room change albeit that the room was not available until after 3. The new room was significantly better and had clear windows with a view, but the ventilation grilles and windows were still extremely dirty.

At no point did we receive an apology for the unacceptable state of the first room.

The common areas in the building are also very run down and not reflective of the hotel's price point.

Good location and very short walk to Farrer Park station and bus stops. Also close to shopping malls so quite convenient. Room bathroom was spacious and clean.

Downsides are 1. There are minimal facilities e.g. no gym, laundry so I wouldn't recommend it for longer stays. 2. Acoustics are terrible. We could hear the room next door (even conversations), not to say from the outside corridor. 3. Staff was also unhelpful to my friend when an issue occurred. The cleaners had accidentally took one of her belongings after they did their room cleaning. When my friend got back to hotel, it was gone. When the situation was brought up to the the staff, they kept pushing back saying my friend had most likely lost it or she packed it in her luggage and forgot. My friend kept requesting for them to check with the cleaners and after 5 minutes of the staff denying it was probably their fault, they finally gave in. We waited for around 15 minutes and they admitted they found it and the cleaners had accidentally took it.

Overall not a BAD place to stay but nowhere near the best.

- Close to the Farrer Park mrt
- Staff was very responsive
- The Queen Beds' firmness suit our needs

Cons:
- The bathroom does not have any ventilation/exhaust fan
- Sofa bed is noisy and not comfortable
- The room is not sound proof. We could hear other guest yelling at the hall at around 9.30 pm when we first arrived.
- We could only get one key card at the beginning as they ran out of card and had to wait until a few hours before we got the second card.

Very good hotel at an affordable price (to Singapore standards). The room was large and had a nice view of the street, rooms were very clean including the washrooms. There were sufficient toiletries, you could always ask for more at the front counter. Lounge room available on floors 4 and 6 where you could cook and prepare drinks for yourself. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. Good location just outside ferrer park station. Overall loved my stay and would come back if I visit Singapore again.

The hotel is an older, smaller building, near the MRT station. The rooms are not very big and there's a gap between the door and the floor so you can hear the neighbors going in and out of their room easily. For bathroom amenities, there's a two-in-one shampoo and conditioner and shower gel. They offer two mediocre towels and two hand towels. Only one roll of toilet tissue paper, no extra. No facial tissues or lotions are offered. The hotel has two rooms on the 4th and 6th floor where there's a common area with tables, a soda, tv, and a mini kitchenette area. The water machine is also located there. The service desk is opened until 10pm. Fortunately, we didn't run into any issues at night but I wouldn't know who to contact after 10pm. This is a good budget hotels for families and a good place if you only plan to sleep there and be out all day. This place is better than a motel but definitely not comparable to a Hilton Garden Inn or Hyatt House.
