We had a memorable stay at the Hotel Prisenhof. Centrally located in the heart of Gronigen, there were numerous shops, restaurants and points of interest all within walking distance. Our room was on the upper floor of what we learned was previously a monastery. It had a lovely view of the garden and was very spacious, although we wished it had more natural light. Our bed was extremely comfortable and the room was clean and quiet. If you are driving, a tip is to park overnight at the Forum Gronigen, only a few minutes walk away. Another plus is the hotel is dog-friendly (for an additional fee).

We’ve stayed in Prinsenhof multiple times. A very nice hotel. Nice design, lovely view over the garden this time. Couple of small niggles with shower control not being 100%, and water scalding if you’re not careful

This place is absolutely amazing. The location is perfect. It's right in the middle of town, but in a quiet little nook of the city. The service is great and the rooms are clean and spacious. You can walk to all the restaurants and bars Groningen has to offer, but I would highly recommend to have dinner at the hotel. We had a 5 course meal with wine pairing and besides it being delicious, it was truly a piece of art. I've been in Groningen many times and have stayed in many different places, but this one is the best and has the best location. It's quite expensive, but it's worth it

Enjoyed the stay. Room was in the new part of the hotel. Nicely designed. Shame the speaker in the room had an out of date connection - maybe there was Bluetooth??? And could have had a nicer view. Bathtub and bath salts available were appreciated! Breakfast was tasty, and nice restaurant space. And in a lovely corner of Binnenstad.

Groningen’s very finest classy hotel

I am a frequent business traveler to Groningen and this is by far the very best Groningen has to offer for over night stays. The staff are second to none; they help you to your door with your luggage and go the extra mile to make your stay simply 1st class. The service and luxury room amenities /free bar/luxury toiletries alone outweigh the small extra charge over the usual faceless chain hotels. Stay here either no regrets!

The Hotel Prinsenhof was a jewel of a \"find.\" My stay there was fantastic: a) hotel personnel were knowledgeable and friendly, b) accommodations were very comfortable, c) the cuisine was exquisite and d) the location of the Hotel was ideally situated near my business obligations. Great hotel with only minor aspects to improve!

Excellent service and location. Two areas to improve: 1. Guests can be lactose intolerant and the restaurant did not have lactose free milk for cereals, etc., 2. The stairwell next to the reception area is badly infested with mosquitos and has very high humidity (which probably helps them reproduce). Otherwise it is the best hotel in Groningen! I appreciated the picture of the Dutch Royal Family in the main hallway, since I was fortunate to personally meet Queen Juliana in the 1960s!

Superb hotel with the most gracious staff

Spent 3 nights and fell in love with the hotel, the town and it's people (and bicycle traffic!!) Imagine coming back late to the hotel from a performance at the MartiniPlaza and having the night staff help order a pizza on line and then deliver it to your room with china and cutlery without asking. Just one example of the kindness shown by the staff. The room was so beautiful with wooden beams galore, complementary wine, beer and chips/peanuts in the mini bar and all the amenities of any 5 star hotel. The restaurant at the hotel was fabulous as well. Cannot wait to return to Groningen and to this hotel.

A tucked away perfect boutique hotel

My daughter and I had a wonderful time at this hotel! We especially appreciated the fact that all of the snacks and drinks that were provided in the room were free! What a great concept! We arrived after 12 PM and we’re so in need of nourishment. It was refreshing to know that we didn’t need to leave our room to eat a few snacks and have a glass of wine. So thankful for the staff and the accommodations, which were absolutely beautiful. You can even hear the church bells chiming from the room! Peace!
I would say that anyone who is not in a normal size body or has knee or hip issues , may have difficulty going up and down the stairs to the shower and bathtub. I particularly loved that it was located in the loft but for some people it could present difficulty. Please check your room accommodations.

Interesting old building converted to modern interior with lovely courtyard. The sleeping room layout is an odd U shape with bed room at base, shower and sink at one point and toilet separate at the other. Restaurant is excellent for dinner, really pricey for breakfast.

Lovely quiet location but still central for walking around. Room was well equipped and very clean. No issues with neighbouring room noise which some reviewers had commented on. Only downside was the staff in the restaurant. A couple were incredibly rude and seemed very reluctant to serve either for drinks or dinner. We ate out for all our meals having been completely put off by the attitude we received. Overall lovely hotel but shame about some staff letting the side down.

This is a superb hotel! Though a historic building site, the hotel facilities are completed updated and modern. The room has every amenity you'd want, including a very comfortable bed; lots of bathroom counter space (small detail often missing in European hotels); and even a Nespresso machine with a variety of pods. And here's something rare and noteworthy (at least, this was the deal with our room): The fridge was pre-stocked with two bottles of wine, two beers, two cokes, and two bottles of water: and all of this was included in the price! Drink your wine and use your espresso pods -- they'll restock them, no extra charge. My wife had access to a bike (no charge) while I was at my meetings. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly -- even showing us to our room (at arrival) and explaining the room amenities. Location-wise, the hotel is right near the heart of town, but isolated somewhat with access to a giant park-like green belt. This place is elegant. And the hotel grounds and gardens themselves are amazing.

We loved staying in this hotel. Our room was huge, the bed was so comfortable that we slept late both days. We borrows the hotel bikes and rode along the canals to a nearby village. A wonderful stay in the cosy Princenhof

I stayed in the Princenhof for four nights when working in Groningen. The rooms are lovely and very comfortable, excellent beds and bedding with a complimentary mini bar in the room also. The café restaurant downstairs was lovely, good food and excellent service. Wifi is good enough to stream movies and tv shows. It's a little dark and isolated when walking home alone but all in all, an excellent place to stay.

The Prisnhof is a beautiful, well maintained hotel. Unfortunately, I only stayed for an evening but I was welcomed by very friendly staff who personally showed me around and took me to my room. The historic offerings are incredible in and of themselves; however, the rooms are quite large and well detailed. I hope to return to Groningen again and, if I do, will certainly stay at the Prisnhof.

My standard room with queen bed was on the small side, although this is typical for Europe, I suppose. The bed was quite comfortable, and the shower came with unusually large containers of luxurious toiletries. The minibar was free. The only downside was the lack of a proper desk, although there is a nice business centre off the reception room if this is an issue. There is a bus stop across the square with frequent service to the train stations.

The hotel is located on very short walking distance of the central square of Groningen. Also, museums, shops, restaurants and theatres are within short walking distance.

The staff is professional and helpful. We had a suite. It was clean and well decorated.

There is only one, but important, remark to be made. Although the staff during breakfast was very kind and giving perfect service, we were disappointed about the breakfast. The hotel chooses to serve a la carte in stead of a buffet. Which is fine, as long as the hotel provides a menu. Now we just had to mention some items and the rest was improvised by the staff. There was no menu to choose from. This reduced the hotel to a kind of Bed & Breakfast. If you give a breakfast a la carte you should at least give a proper menu. For us this is a reason not to return.

The four stars for staff and service is due to the breakfast and not due to the staff. They should have five stars.

From the moment you see this gorgeous hotel, you will start to feel special. You leave your car at the gate, walk through a little patio area where people are enjoying their afternoon drinks and you are warmly welcomed by the excellent reception staff who also valet park your car. We had a Superior room and it was spotlessly clean, spacious, it overlooked the previously mentioned patio and had a big bathroom with Acqua di Parma toiletries in lovely big bottles. The bed was huge and really comfy. There were complimentary drinks and snacks in the mini-bar and the hotel is smack in the middle of everything so you can walk everywhere. Great restaurants, patio cafés and bars are all close by but the best restaurants in Groningen are actually in the hotel itself. The cherry on the top of the cake: the lovely gardens at the back of the hotel. We had a little walk round them and there is a tea house if you fancy a cuppa.

Sauberes, sehr schönes Hotel in toller Lage. Zimmer zum Park lassen vergessen das man direkt in der Innenstadt schläft. Es wäre uns wahrscheinlich jeder Wunsch erfüllt worden, wäre da etwas das wir vermisst hätten. Frühstück war reichhaltig, abwechslungsreich und Corona Konform für jede Person auf Wunsch gebracht/gemacht.

Schöne Unterkunft - jedoch mit Nachteilen

Schönes Haus, stilvolle Zimmer - jedoch Sehr laut, hellhörig bis mitten in der Nacht hört man jeden Schritt der Zimmernachbarn.
Lange Wartezeit für einen Tisch zum Abendessen.

Business
