The Hotel was clean well located and an excellent value for the money. I would highly recommend this Hotel. I have been traveling in the Netherlands for over two weeks and have stayed various Hotels, so far the Market Hotel in Gronigen is the best.

Felt foolish staying here. There was a fair directly in front of the hotel with spotlights directed into rooms, air raid sirens, rides, amplified screaming and pounding bass that started at noon and went on until midnight. Hotel did not advise in advance. Solution was to move me from first to third floor, which made little difference. Reaction of staff was to say ‘sorry’ and literally shrug. Locals told me the hotel never discloses these things. It was ridiculous - I can’t believe that I paid to stay here. Beware - bait and switch.

Great place to stay

Central location and comfortable room and bed. Breakfast was very good; nice choices of cereals, breads, hot food. Dinner menu was not exciting; our burger was disappointing. We enjoyed our stay there and would happily return in the future.

Not really a hotel problem, but something was happening outside in the market every night Into the late hours of the night. I stayed here multiple times in the past, this was the first time the outside noise kept me awake. Otherwise clean and very friendly.

On the positive side, the room was spacious and clean, which made my stay quite comfortable. Restaurants and shops are also on a walking distance. However, a major disadvantage was the noise from outside. Even with the doors and windows closed, it was quite loud, which made it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. Overall, while the hotel has its merits, the noise issue is something to consider if you're a light sleeper.

One slight thing the tv in the room was supposed to have chromecast to link your phone to stream but this doesnt work. Said the wifi of the hotel was not the same as the chromecast.

Fine, modern hotel in Groningen center.

It's a nice and modern hotel - but service is just not their strength. Waited for like ~15 min at the reception while she was just speaking on the phone. This is weird. No one else came, and the reception just let us stand there. In the room, the chrome casting to the LCD TV didnt work (I use this kind of service routinely at hotels). The reception had no idea and the solution was to send a technician to our room - in the evening when you're in bed is not the moment for that. Reception should be trained and educated in basic room amenities and functionality - obviously I dont expect them to be tech wizards but this was not that kind of problem.

Anyway - the hotel is in good shape. No major problems but they have no real concept of real service and hospitality. That said - this is common in NL.

Not as good this time

Arrived Tuesday and check in was good . Went down to the restaurant and ordered the veal and asked for well done with no red / blood whatsoever. I was very clear on this . Was in the company of two others, Food arrived and clearly cooked to medium with blood clearly visible. Food was sent back and arrived back when the other diners were finished their meal . Veal was well done on the outside but still red in the middle / centre of the meat. In addition the accompanying chips were undercooked and clearly rushed to accompany the meal . I then order a second pinot Grigio and a different wine arrived . I did not drink it and called it a night . I expesssed my disappointment on the night to the hostess who apologised but no adjustment / gesture/ etc reflected in the bill . I believe that in these situations some gesture of goodwill should be made . It resulted in me choosing not to dine there for the rest of my stay . Breakfast is good in the hotel normally but on Thursday they had no yougurt which I always choose along with the nice selection of nuts and granola. I asked for a portion of yougurt but was told that it had not been delivered that morning . Again I found this a strange proposition as would imagine that stocks would not have to be delivered on a daily basis and that some back up stock would be in store . At a minimum a few tubs from the myriad of stores beside the hotel could act as a contingency plan. Not ideal but a solution but I basically had no breakfast that day

My room was more carefully and thoughtfully planned than any modern hotel room that I have stayed in in Europe The bed was first-rate and four (FOUR) oversized down pillows made it heaven

The staff were young and competent and eager to help A great experience !! And accessible food service for all three meals was a plus! Highly recommended!

We had a fabulous stay. Lovely large room with seating area. Beautifully quiet. Superb huge bathroom, all lovely and clean. Breakfast was delicious. Nice coffee in room (a bit more would be helpful in a twin room) and a kettle. Contemporary furnishings, stylish, public area beautifully presented. Staff lovely and helpful.

Perfectly Located Modern and Comfortable Hotel

Perfect location in the City Market Centre opposite the Civic Hall. Parking is 100m away in the Forum Car Park which is new clean and has wide spaces. Rooms are well fitted out and great fo all, but as a business user the desk and plugs and wifi etc are all well thought through. Exceptional and staff are efficient and charming, checking in and out is very efficient.

We thought that the food options were great. Very tasty and beautifully presented. Breakfast was a feast , excellent selection.
I cannot speak highly enough of the staff. Every single member of staff that we met was simply amazing. The front desk staff were so friendly and welcoming that we really felt at home.
The staff in the bar and restaurant were brilliant. Efficient,helpful,always smiling. The staff are a credit to the hotel.
I would highly recommend this hotel , we had a wonderful stay here.

Poor value for money. Mediocre service

We had superior room. Receptionist gave us room on the first floor with twin beds. No view, dark space. I asked about the room with double bed (because it was our wedding anniversary). She said that it is impossible. Very strange, because they could give us at least one blanket (we had 2 separate). No bathrobes. The shower is really strange- it is open and transparent and if you stay with your friends it can be confusing because there is no privacy. Toilet with glacé door. Breakfast crowded but normal. In general it would be ok for 100 Euro but we paid 220… I would say that it is 3 star hotel.

Excellent stay.

Hotel very good and very professional.

Only issue I had was that housekeeping left my door on the latch all day - meaning it was visibly open all day whilst I was at work.

I am still waiting for my complimentary bottle of whisky as a way of apology!

Nice, super convenient, struggling on some details

Hotel hasn’t been open too long so all is new. But mid-pandemic, some things feel a bit haphazard. Breakfast tea water urn hadn’t been turned on, minibar was totally empty (but still on - what a waste!!). Staff are friendly but seem a bit beleaguered - possibly related to new NL covid measures put in place the day we arrived.

Ok. Fangen wir mit der Anreise an. Diese war unkompliziert, aber nur, wenn man sich vorher mit den Parkmöglichkeiten auseinandersetzt... Leider relativ teuer.
In der Unterkunft angekommen war der Check-in unkompliziert. Das Wetter war schlecht und so wollten wir in die Sauna des Full-Service-Spas. Hier wurden wir allerdings völlig enttäuscht. Wir haben das teuerste Hotel am Platz tatsächlich eben wegen dieses Angebotes ausgesucht. Doch dann mussten wir feststellen, dass die Sauna extra gebucht werden muss. Und zwar für 12,5 p.P. und Stunde, da die Sauna dann exklusiv für einen allein ist. Anders als beworben war die Sauna auch noch nicht an und dann war sie die ersten beiden Stunden bereits besetzt.
Nächster Tag: Frühstück eher mittelmäßig. Präsentation der Lebensmittel in Ordnung, aber während der Stunde kam kein einziges Mal jemand der vielen Bedienungen vorbei um unsere Teller abzuräumen!? Wir hatten bestimmt 10 Teller stehen. Dann, als wir beide noch was holen waren, war plötzlich alles weg. Inklusive Besteck...
Geht lieber in ein günstigeres Hotel und holt euch ein Frühstück woanders...
Noch eine Sache zur Dusche. Diese ist nämlich so, dass das Glas gleichzeitig den Raum abschließt. Was macht man, wenn man mit einem Kumpel oder Kollegen ein Zimmer teilt? Wer denkt sich sowas aus?
