Staff was great; unfortunately, they are under staffed. There just wasn't enough help on the property, and it appeared only a few staff was available to operate the business. The third floor, as soon as you walk off the elevator, it smells like urine. There were quite a few pet owners this particular day…if I was the owner …I wouldn’t allow pets in the building. The third floor needs to renovated, and then no more pets allowed from there.

Literally the only thing this place has going for it is the super kind staff! They are really trying but it's not there yet. There were many different smells that just seemed to worsen. We really tried to make the best of it. The room itself wasn't bad minus the odor. We ended up getting spray for the room and toughed it out the first night. Beds were fine. The AC was fine. Lave was quite. But when coming out of the room... no.
This is an extended stay type hotel so no shampoo or conditioner either.
Also dryed clothes for an hour, waiting downstairs only to find they didn't dry at all! Ugh.
I mean, if you really needed a place to stay and had very limited money and no expectations, then it would work.

They gave me a room and when I went inside the room somebody was already in the room. I had to wait till they clean another room. The room was dirty the floor was sticky it smelled bad. The phone didn’t work. The tv controller didn’t had batteries. There were no towels in the restroom. No soap so I had to go down to the lobby because the phone didn’t work. They told me that they didn’t give out shampoo only soap.

The room smelled terrible and the front receptionist had told me that the cleaning lady had quit so she had to go clean the room. I’m glad she was up front and took initiative but it doesn’t help that once I got to the room it smelled awful. I had a spider crawling on me in bed. I tried to cancel the room for the second night but I couldn’t get ahold of anyone over the phone and lost the money anyways.

DO NOT STAY HERE. Check in was fine but then once we got to the room that’s where it went South. The room was filthy , the sheets had blood, bodily fluids and covered in someone else’s hair. Everything in the room was covered in dust and the toilet seat was cracked in half. We returned to the desk where the worker did appologize and gave us another room , that was even worse. Everything was broke in there , tv and cabinets and then there was no comforters and the sheets were dirty as well.

The original room we were assigned was overran with roaches, no towels, and dirty. We talked to front desk and were moved to another room, the second room had smaller roaches and the fridge smelled like someone had left food in it for months and had an unknown liquid dripping from it. The staff was very nice and apologetic. As for staying here, you get what you pay for.

Toliet paper was not full halfway. The toliet was dirty. Hair's everywhere. And the blanket was turn and super thin. But it was a comfortable bed and the staff was friendly. They just need work on the cleaning and the wifi isnt good.

The outside looks beautiful, the inside however, the floors were dirty in the hallways, the rooms were not cleaned properly, someones used flosspick on a nightstand, dirty floors, bathtub was dirty and had dirt/mud on edge of it. The fridge was gross and looked as though it had never been cleaned. The staff were super nice, but I would not stay there again.

Checked in around 8:30 pm and the front desk didn’t even know if there was a room ready. He had to go check and found one. The hotel smelled like smoke even in the halls. Although it says no smoking. Even found cigarette buds in the hallway. Doors were open to other rooms that were dirty. My room was unswept or mopped. Roaches in the bathroom. Don’t even think the sheets were changed. Only stayed there a few hours and left.

Broken coffee pot, air conditioner didn’t cool, broken tv, no extra toilet paper(so I had to use only what was on the roll then go ask for more). I gave this hotel a one star because it had good parking, nice front counter attendant. They need a policy on smoking marijuana in the hotel because it was so thick. You could barely walk down the hall.

Dont stay in any motel 6 in San Marcos, all 3 Motel 6s are owned by the same, ignorant, mean, ugly people. The staff and owners are rude and racist. A very awful stay. Will never stay there again.

The room I stayed in was quite damaged - patches on the walls and a missing cabinet door. The walls are quite thin in this hotel and I heard a lot more than I'd like. The biggest issue of all was that the front desk work made an \"error\" and assigned another group of guests to our room after we had already checked in. Imagine my surprise when I was on in my room and a group entered using their own key. That was completely unacceptable, not only an invasion of privacy but a HUGE safety concern. The front desk simply brushed it off and gave me a new key and was not nearly as apologetic as you'd think one would be for a mistake like that. Overall, I wouldn't suggest staying here if you value safety and cleanliness.

Staff was friendly but the room was very badly maintained. Hair dryer not working, no remote for TV, stove top not working and the electrical one they provided in the room was very dirty and old. No basic handsoap in restroom and only one roll of toilet paper for 3 people. Towels were very cheap, thin and worn. Shower had Sheetrock coming off of it.

Had a 2 night stay arrive late Friday night, had no towels in the room. Towels requested. Saturday morning still no towels. Didn't get towels until 6 pm Saturday after many request. Cross the hallway rooms had trash sitting there all weekend long, staff did not bother to take trash out even after coming to our room to open door. Corroded microwave, phone room didn't work and was not given a card for room, staff had to open door every time we needed to get into room. One of the times staff tried opening it 3 times and couldn't, a gentleman tried opening it with a screw driver and a card after multiple times and waiting 30+ minutes it failed. Finally, was opened by attempting with a small black box. If all these issues were communicated at check-in it would be different but, they were not other than staff would go open our room door. Of course, never said sometimes we have problems trying to get into rooms. Staff can only work with what is provided to them, facility owners should not have this facility open. Would not recommend staying here. Expedia before putting a facility on your site make sure you know what the facility actually looks like. Pictures are deceiving.

THE ROACHES COME OUT AT NIGHT!

This place is in desperate need of an exterminator. This place needs to be shut down immediately! The people who work there stink, and one ladies breath smelled so bad it was coming into mines. We left for my son’s football game and returned at 4:00 in the morning and cut the lights on in our room only to find ROACHES everywhere; even in the sheets. This place is nasty, the workers are nasty and the water doesn’t get hot because the ROACHES ARE living in the PIPES.

My family’s stay was very uncomfortable. Upon checking in, there was no one at the front desk. We clicked the button to page someone & it took them 5 mins to come. Getting off the elevator to our floor, the smell of dog increase as we got closer to our room. The room next to us had dog hair everywhere on the carpet outside the door. Inside our room (I booked a double bed with full kitchen), my daughter went to shower & was met with pest & roaches. Inside the refrigerator was old ice & spilled drinks. The stove was out of commission missing BOTH knobs. Later that day roaches were crawling on the wall. Our sleep was so uncomfortable that we checked out at 3am the next morning.

When we checked in the room was not ready. The bed was being made but there was no blanket on there. We had to ask twice for a blanket. The ac in the room didn’t work right. We had the temp set to the lowest setting but it didn’t work right. The room cool but only if you slept in your under garments. The was dust everywhere and most of the things in the room were broken. Stove top missing a knob. Stop of stove cracked. Alarm clock didn’t work. There were absolutely nothing in the room to even use the stove. When we booked it said room was equipped with that stuff. Not happy with our stay at all. The staff was great though. The lady who checked us in Marion was so sweet and nice. We didn’t need the blanket after all seeing the ac never got cold enough to use it.

Hotel staff stole my personal belongings

Very disheartened to write such a negative review but this hotel was terrible. I left work to pay my rent that was due and to my shock they had evicted me from the room without any prior notice (they have my card on file) no phone call attempt to reach me. I come to find they had packed my personal belongings, but half of my things were missing and stolen. I reported this to the Owner, and he was very dismissive and rude and does not care about professionalism or customer service. I will be reporting to police, BBB, and any other agencies to prevent this from happening to anyone else. This hotel does not care about anyone staying here and does not respect you or your personal property. Please beware.

There was apparently an electrical issue right before we arrived. The whole building's air conditioning wasnt working. Due to the humidity, the locks stopped working on the doors. Our room the first night did not lock at all. They did move us to another room the next day, but that room was so humid the mirrors were fogged. It was rather miserable to try to sleep while soaked in sweat and condensation.

I would like to start by highlighting the fantastic location of the property, and I want to extend my gratitude to the front desk staff Ms. Maria for her outstanding service. She was incredibly accommodating and did her best to assist us during a check-in.

However, I did encounter some issues with my room that I believe could be addressed to enhance the overall experience. I noticed that the elevator and common areas could benefit from more attention and care, as their condition raised some concerns.

Additionally, I experienced some pest issues, including fleas that my dogs unfortunately picked up from the property. While I appreciated the provision of bug spray, it would be ideal to have a fully pest-free environment from the outset.

Overall, my experience did not fully align with my expectations, and I believe that with some improvements in these areas, future guests could enjoy a much more pleasant stay. Thank you for taking the time to consider this feedback!

The stay was ok but the staff members are not very competent. I was locked out of my hotel room twice after extending my reservation and made it VERY clear to the front desk of my extension. Came back from working only to be locked out with my belongings inside because they marked me as a no show. After fighting back and forth with them, they finally let me in. I checked out the next day and went to a different hotel for the remainder of my stay. Very disgusted by the way I was treated.
