Moldy bathtub. Dirty floors. Seemingly ancient building. And that's all somehow, to me, excusable, however, the road noise from the highway all night was UNBEARABLE. That mixed with the super lumpy mattress and pillows, I was unable to sleep at all.

Strange experience. When I went to check in, the manager said the room had been cancelled earlier in the week, due to a plumbing problem. Fortunately, a room was available, so we had a place to stay. But I wasn't told the reservation had been cancelled earlier. On top of that, they demanded a credit card payment, even though I had prepaid through Hotels.com. The manager said I had to contact Hotels.com for a refund. I asked why they wouldn't do that for us. Didn't they tell Hotels.com that it had been cancelled? Strange

There was nothing that I liked about this property.

The walls were dingy, the towels left in the room were dingy and hard, my dog has better towels at home. The AC kept shutting off all night causing the temperature to fluctuate the whole time. The blankets felt like curtains, and one of the bedframes made a loud sound when you'd sit down on it. The faucet water was almost in a slimy state and could have made someone sick. The walls did not keep the sound of passing traffic out. Would not recommend.

1st: they said our reservation was cancelled but we never got notification of this. They said they let expedia know, but we booked through hotels.com.
2nd: they said they did have rooms and would honor what our quoted rate was, which was a good thing.
3rd: room appeared clean, but the one pillow and bed looked like someone had laided down on it, the sheets and bedspreads had cigarette burn holes and the floor wasnt swept.
4th: the a/c dial to regulate the temp was broken. I had to use my fingernail to get the temp to turn colder.
5th: advertisement stated had a continental breakfast, but when I went down to get coffee, was told by the clerk they dont offer any.
6th: the clerk was sleeping when I came to get coffee and was back to sleep when we went to check out.

My stay was terrible oh the guy slender to my name and says he had to give a refund twice or five times yesterday because of my truck and because of the homeless people that hang around his property I have talked to a lawyer this morning and I am very very carefully sorry for this but the thing of it is he made me wait seven and a half hours before I could check in to talk to him after paying for my room online through y'all and then he tells me all of this that it's my fault and all this stuff that he had to give a refund when his rooms are nasty dirty not clean when I take into my room at 7:00 last night I had to clean it went to the office several times to get my towels and toilet paper which nobody answered the doorbell or came to the window I am very tired of this place I have paid a lot of money at this place for my family and I've had too many bad experience I need my money back with this I tell you I'm sorry but if I am not refunded I will tell my lawyers to proceed in the lawsuit at the econo Lodge of slandering my name thank you, again and again I rented it again last night after my week's day that I paid for I put it in my old man's name which is William Mondey and he is the one that check in last night I need to be refunded of this or but I also need to talk to somebody about this thank you

The room was terrible. Walked in and there was a dead roach on the floor. Floor was dirty. Couldn’t figure out how to turn on the lights. The light switch turned on the microwave! You could see daylight thru the door jam, the door didn’t feel secure when shut and the peep hole was just an empty hole. There was no way we could stay. This room and property looked nothing like the photos. We checked out as soon as we found a different room.

Extremely unhappy with my stay

At check in I was given a room with a sink clogged with mud and no working phone. The next room was a little better but the phone also didn’t work and the TV didn’t either. The bathroom had the previous guests dirty washcloth hanging on the shower head. There were men lingering outside our door drinking beer and yelling until after 1am. I couldn’t move hotels, no refund available. The next night more men drinking in the stairwell, outside my door, and in the parking lot. I didn’t feel safe going from my car to my room at all. There was a lot of middle of the night yelling and revving engines. There was no “breakfast” as you can’t even enter the lobby at any time. This is not at all a safe place for families to stay. I fully understand, you get what you pay for, however this was not at all like the pictures and things that were advertised were not offered.

Property needs to be updated , concrete stairs are old and anti slip pads are loose and dangerous to step on especially when wet, Rooms smell, some of the appliances didnt work in the room , hair dryer short circuit and burned in my hands. Front lobby can not be accessed and locked at all times you can only speek to someone through a small glass window, an weired crew was filming in room 111 looked like a pornographic video was beening made! And the odor of burnt marijuana in our room was horrible! I called the Manager and he made it seem like i was the one smoking the crap!! We did not stay the remainder of days we reserved and found a different location to finish our vacation.

This property should NOT even be an Expedia option. Remove it. The pictures are all false. There is no safety. It's a damn sex traffic hotel. How has NO ONE investigated?! I've called authorities. Disgusting

This place is absolutely disgusting. I’m so sad we had to stay here. There was no cold water, only hot. Burn holes in the bedding, bugs on the floor. And when we walked in the room, it looks like somebody had already been laying in the bed. It was so incredibly discussing. It doesn’t look anything like the pictures online I have never stayed in such a disgusting motel. I couldn’t wait to leave.

This hotel is absolutely terrible. When you check in, you have to deal with the receptionist through a small slit, like visiting the drug store at 2am in a rough neighbourhood. I thought, wow, is this a rough neighbourhood? But it’s not, I think the receptionists lock themselves away, to protect themselves from the customers. This place is so bad. When we walked into our room it stank of smoke, even though it was a non smoking room. There were holes in the bedsheets and holes in the top cover - looked like cigarette burns. Of course, there was the obligatory light bulbs out. When we went to heat some food in the microwave there was a plate of green, hairy pasta in it (see photo). Even after I threw that away, the state of the microwave was disgusting. We couldn’t figure out what was going on. This place is so bad. It’s like everyone has just given up. The room was so dirty. You may say, what do you expect. It’s low budget, but we’ve traveled around the US for 5 weeks and stayed at 2 other Econo lodges and this was off the scale in terribleness. I’m never staying in another Econo lodge. Not taking that risk again

I didn’t expect much with booking a cheap motel, as I have done many times before for even cheaper rates, however I was so disgusted I couldn’t even sleep. The bedding smelled strongly like sweat, the whole place was dirty, the bathroom door was smashed and broken in, there was a car air freshener hanging on the AC unit I’m assuming to try and mask the smell of cigarettes? I didn’t even feel comfortable taking off my shoes in the hotel, and truly considered sleeping in the truck instead. There was two flat sheets, no fitted sheet, and some sort of mattress pad that was stained with yellow spots all over. Because there was no fitted sheet, I guess they expected me to sleep directly on the mattress pad? I’ve stayed in many discount hotels in the past and definitely wasn’t expecting much, but any halfway decent person would not enjoy staying here. If I hadn’t gotten in past midnight I would have looked for somewhere else even if I had to pay for two places.

Everything was dirty. From the toilet to shower it was dirty. The floor was dirty the cabinets of dresser were broken. The lights did not work in the room. The shower did not have a curtains. It’s honestly the worst hotel I stayed in. The beds felt like they were going to break. After checking in I left after one hour it was unbearable being in there I had to go look for another hotel. Got three rooms and first off one of the rooms had poop in the toilet then the next two tv not working asked the front office that tvs didnt work said they were going to send someone to check them out and no one did then one of the beds was broken and found a roach crawling on the floor and soaps where open and shampoo bottles almost empty. Do not recommend this hotel rather spend a little more money and feel safe and be somewhere else cleaner.

I only wish I took pictures ...

So initially we were placed in a room that was previously smoked in, it reaked (and i'm pregnant) ... we stayed three nights and four days and not once did anyone go into the room to change out the trash or give us new toilet paper. The bed did not have a bed sheet so we could not use the blankets properly. The chairs in the room had wet stains on them. The room did not look like it was properly cleaned and disinfected. It is honestly a GREAT spot in town that's why we chose it, but we will not be staying there again..

First and last stay

Never got working keys for the door so and had to have someone from the front desk open it each time. Peep hole was missing and plugged with paper. TV was plugged into outlet that turned off with light switch. No towels were in the room. Water on floor in bathroom and trash from prior guest in trash can. Partially used soap bars and empty shampoo bottle in bathroom. Multiple insects crawling around. Hole in wall where outlets used to be. It was cheap, but still not worth the price.

Blood stains on sheets. Nasty pillows and pillow cases. Wornout linens. Homeless people digging through trash. 4 lamps in room...2 did not have light bulbs. Refrigerator was rusty and nasty...with an awful smell. Microwave was not clean. The staff offered a room on the first floor stating the lock did not work...but said it was \"safe\". Cockroaches was seen around the sick...no...just mo...don't stay there.

This establishment was extremely filthy. The door to the room was open upon our arrival. There were missing lightbulbs to the lamp and ceiling light. The curtain rod was broken so the curtain was hanging. The pillows to the bed were dirty. The bed covers were stained and there was an odor to the room. Outside of the property there were individuals smoking marijuana joints, suspiciously watching and trash thrown all around the rear of the establishment

I booked this hotel through Expedia. I arrived and went to the room. The room was disgusting. There was trash in the room from previous guests. There were dog paw prints on the bed and pillows. There were dead crickets in the room. The door did not close all the way. The property around the hotel is very busy.

To begin with the shower was filthy it had dirt and gravel in the bottom and other peoples hairs . The night stands had spots where something had been spilt on them and were never cleaned. The chairs in the room had stains on them . Then to top it off the sheets had stains on them so we went and bought some cheap blankets to sleep on top of and when we trie to go to sleep the people on the top floor above us where jumping around and banging on things so we called the front desk and they said they would do something about it but the racket never stopped. i was very disappointed , our room stayed hot and did not really cool down , The walls and ceiling were filthy and discusting , our towels were stained with black stripes all over them, i coulnt get the Iron to work , and the handle for the shower fell off .... we had three rooms 2 for 2 days and 1 for one day . I will never recommend this faculity to anyone , and really feel I should have been discounted immensly or refunded at least 1 room. I WAS A DUMP

Hotel is run by people who won’t even open the doors for you to come inside and pay for room. They do business through a window. We got our first room linen looked dirty and had burn marks all over top blanket and AC in room did not cool at all / figured maybe they just turned it on we left to have dinner and when we returned room was still hot / requested maintenance and the guy told us to go and knock on door of maintenance and get him.. I requested a room change and they accommodated me but second room same thing with linens looked dirty and burn marks still. But air worked. Both rooms even though non smoking had very strong smells. I would not rent here again

DO NOT TRAVEL HERE ALONE! UNSAFE! No deadbolt, phones in room do not work, window was unlocked and without a screen when I walked in. When the cleaners knock it does not matter if you tell “DO NOT COME IN” they will still open the door. I had to keep a table and chair and all of my luggage in front of the door at night. No wifi even tho they give you a password, worst and most unsafe place I have ever stayed in. DO NOT STAY HERE!!

This is the worst hotel I've ever seen. Not to mention the $200 rip off it turned out to be. I'm pregnant, my mom has Lupus and severe asthma, and they have a serious case of black mold in the rooms. The bedding was dirty, the shower had what appeared to be feces spattered on the edge of the tub, the towels smelled bad, there were bugs on the blanket under the comforter either lice or bed bugs one. The electricity in half the room didn't work at all.. needless to say, my mother and I couldn't stomach staying there longer than half an hour if that, so we asked the guy at the desk for a refund so we could find somewhere else to stay, and he gave me the run around of course. I ended up waiting in my truck for over 8 hours for the manager to come in and issue my refund of $200 (mind you that's all the money I had to my name aside from maybe $40 to eat and get diesel to go back home) and the jerks literally made me sit there waiting for my money that long, then ultimately refused to give it back to me despite the fact that I was never satisfied, and let it be known immediately and didn't even stay in the room more than half an hour before asking for a refund. I highly recommend no one wastes their time or money here. It's trash and so are the employees.

We checked-in around 1am. We got our room. Upon opening the room 225, we found the bathtub used, soap and towels used and dirty. Later, we found the bed linen and pillows were dirty as well. I contacted the reception to change the room, he came 15 mins late and gave the side room 227, which was equally dirty, the lights were not functioning well and damaged bathtub. So we continued in the same room, by getting different pillows which were equally dirty, and put our own linen. We just slept somehow and left in the morning without using bathtub. As it was late night, and all the motels around were full, we continued here just to get some sleep and get going. Additionally, the motel was in a shady area, lot of homeless at the property, we were worried about our vehicle getting damaged so we kept on checking whenever we could. It was not worth the amount we paid for. If we were not tired, we would have skipped this motel and driven further to get another motel at that time.

The sheets were not washed, the bathrooms were not cleaned, and the floors were disgusting. My entire party slept on top of the bedcovers in both of our rooms because we did not feel safe sleeping under the covers. One of the beds in my room had fresh pizza stains on the sheet and every bed had old unidentified stains all over the comforters. There was a men’s shoe hanging from the shower curtain rod in my bathroom, and burn marks on the comforter and ceiling as though someone had put out a cigarette there. The walls were also paper thin so you could hear your neighbors coming and going and traffic that passed by all night. If they cleaned it up it would not be bad, but right now I highly recommend looking elsewhere.

this was the worst property I have seen. Bath tube blocked, leaking wash area, noisy toilet, inefficient AC, worst customer care, dirty room, no toiletry, no towel... I can just go on..

Parking lot had broken down cars. Bad social area. Barking dogs in units. Room - walls heavily dirty, mattress badly worn out and stained. Linen dingy. Roaches in vanity and bathroom. Shower dirty. No TP. Limited towels. Comforter rumpled and big burn holes in it. Bad odor. Definitely misrepresented by pictures in their advertisements!

Homeless people everywhere, We found a used syringe in the ironing board in our room, definitely high traffic area for drugs. I would not recommend for anyone to stay here

This Econo Lodge in San Marcos should be closed. Due to dirty bed, dirty room, Ice machine has rust/dirty, sheets on bed was dirt and cover with holes, pillow were dirty and had holes, the air conditions did NOT work properly ,room 107. My wife worked in hotels and she knows what is good and not.

Do not recomend. Cheap goes wrong way. My dad booked a stay for 2 bedroom 3 night. One was payed with card the second with cash. The second night he was asked to evacuate the room he paid with cash saying hw only paid 2 nts. They dont have you initial what youre paying for at beginning. There is no way to prove he did or didn’t pay. They have camwras, aksed to speak to manager, Staff said he couldnt call the manager just for that! What? He is getting kicked out of a room he had paid for. We shouldve call the police if it wasnt because he had an event to go to.
Please spend a little more and save yourself a headache.

Glad this is was a one night only stay.

Room appeared clean until looked closely at the floor. Hair and hairballs from previous guest was on the floor and in the shower. I carry Lysol wipes and cleaned all surfaces. My feet were filthy from walking barefoot in the room and had to clean my feet before I put my shoes on! Room was worth about $40, NOT $109.

I hate posting bad reviews, but this place needs a lot of work. This place is worth $50 or less a night. It is nothing like the pictures. The bedsheets had blood stain on them, & the towels had black stains on them. The fridge was not working. There was no iron in there. The walls looked dirty, & overall it just stunk. This place needs to be closed down for a week and properly be sanitized and disinfected. They need to wash literally everything in there. We did not sleep comfortably.

The worst experience in a hotel I ever experienced. There is no remote to the TV, Chairs are really dusty, The Towels are terrible, the main door to the room has gaps on the bottom, no wifi. The manager at the Hotel was not so friendly..... sorry, it was not a pleasant visit. The best part of the hotel was the air conditioner in the room was working

This is THE WORST hotel that I have experienced. We were looking for lodging after a long drive from Tenn to Texas. The first room was DISGUSTING!!! The covers had stains on them, the refrigerator was NASTY and the micr
owave had burnt caked food in it. We were shown another room which the front desk person said was “better” and it was just as bad as the first! We immediately asked for a refund!!! He did not know how to process the refund!!! This hotel does not DESERVE TO BE ON ANY LIST FOR A COMFORTABLE CLEAN PLACE TO REST BECAUSE IT IS FAR FROM THAT!!! June 2021

I would not recommend. Room is half-way clean but not best place to stay. AC doesn’t work. Took me 4 trips to office to get my card to work so I could get into room. It’s a bed and place to stay is about all. Not worth $100/night. Would not recommend and being a biker my standards are not the highest. April 2022

We checked into our first room and it smelled like smoke and musty for a non-smoking hotel. We asked to have a different room. Upon entering the second room, the pillows were thrown on the middle of the bed, no blankets/comforter, and the sheets were wrinkled.
