Old motel but comfortable and great staff.

First of all, this hotel is old and located directly next to IH35. With that being said, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was as clean as it could be. There was soap, shampoo. The bed was comfortable. But the best part? The air conditioning worked fantastically. Overall, for the price, it was a good experience and I would recommend.

We only stayed one night but the room didn’t look like it had a good cleaning in a while. The toilet and shower were clean but the floors were not that great. We had a “soft spot” in the carpet where the floor sunk in when you walked across it, which was concerning since we were on the second floor. There were birds nesting in the bathroom vent and the nesting material was falling through onto the towels. The beds were ok….hard, firm mattresses and made nicely. The chairs in the room were very stained and very wobbly and the table wasn’t much better. I do not like leaving negative reviews but this place needs some attention from the owners.

I was there for about 10 min and i checked out and left i didnt even stay its was so unbelievably disgusting. I lost $180 because I refused to stay in such a nasty mess. I almost gaged when i walked in the door. There were holes in the bedding and stuff splattered on the walls and writing on the door and a huge crack in the ceiling obviously leaking and making the floor underneath weak and unsafe to walk on. The door wouldn't close all the way its was so bad.

Honestly would have preferred to sleep in the car. Cockroaches on the ceiling, carpet and in the bathtub. Asked the reception to change the room. New room also had cockroaches. I feel the carpet floor, ceiling boards and wall partitions are infested with cockroach eggs that the only solution is to burn this place down. Avoid at all costs. At least the parking lot was alright and car was safe. Checked out 5am just to get out of there. Still have nightmares 18 months later

There were NO covers on the electrical outlets. Toilet ran, shower dirty with black hair everywhere.the chai lock on the door was busted. In general this place was a dump but VRBO cancelled the day before we left to attend the Formula One race in Austin and we had $1300 invested in tickets and were desperate to to find a place. I am ok with low rent places if it is clean but this place is disgusting and if you value Expedla's reputation then you need to drop them immediately. GROSS place.

Room was clean, there were no bugs at all. Beds felt a bit uncomfortable but for the price I paid a night Im not going to complain. Also the TV only had basic cable so we pretty much only had 3 channels worth watching the whole week. Biggest issue is the walls are very thin and the traffic noise outside sounded the same if the door was wide open or not.

This was the worst property I've ever stepped foot in. I could not believe how sketchy the environment was & how dirty the rooms were. The lady at the front desk was the only saving grace for this situation and she helped us receive a full refund. We appreciate her greatly. However, I advise others to stay away from this location unless it's for a quick fix.

Great value for price. King room is a bit small but the double queen bed room is a great size. It’s spacious, you get plenty of towels. Refrigerator, tv, ac/heater, etc. work perfectly. Rooms and equipment is old but it works. The property is quiet even at night and allows for peaceful rest. Staff is helpful and friendly.

Great location but needs better cleaning!!!

My boyfriend & I stayed here for one night on the weekend 7/29/22. Visiting San Marcos for the first time, the location was great for the activities we were doing throughout the day. Upon arrival the room smelled. It wasn’t a really bad smell but it wasn’t a clean smell either. I thought that was the only issue which I let it slide since it wasn’t bothering. The water force to shower is nice, had no trouble with the restroom. Once we got back at night time, my bf put his phone to charge & after a while when we were getting ready to go to bed, we saw an insect (cricket) on top of his phone!!! Then I kept looking around and on the carpet, along the wall there were dead rollie pollies!! Went over to check for any bed bugs but there weren’t any. I was disappointed, don’t think I will stay here again.

I paid $300 some odd dollars for 2 nights the room was stinky and messy AND small and the lady who checked me in was most rude. We always pick this hotel because when it was called the knights inn we were treated better and we looked forward to our next vacation.

I booked my room online and when I got to the hotel to check in the staff argued with me saying I didn’t have a room booked and after I showed the receipt they ask what the price was and said I could not check in yet because I only booked for one night when it clearly shows on the receipt that I had 2 nights !

I don’t ever write reviews, but this hotel was BAD! They have tried to fix the rooms up, but did an awkward job. I think at one point it might have been abandoned or condemned, judging from the moody smell, cracks in the roof, watermarks down the walls and soft spots in the floor. The room was not as advertised, and the full kitchen had zero dishes, utensils, or anything to cook with or on. Bizarre! When we checked in at 4, the AC was off and the room about 100 degrees (we were prebooked). The property is on the frontage road to a very busy interstate, so if traffic noise bothers you, not your place. Strongly do not recommend!

The hotel is very run down. It needs refurbishing and repainted. Molding cracked ceiling in the bathroom. Carpet is so filthy it is sticky. We had to wear socks all the time because the carpet filth got on our feet after a few steps across the carpet. The walls are visibly dirty. Other rooms had peeling paint on the entry doors to their rooms. The room smelled when we first got there, we bought a candle. The a/c wasn’t running either, part of the smell was stagnant air.

Last minute nightmare...

It was late when I got there with just me and my 2 girls. I was given the very last room on the top floor, farthest away from the office. I asked the lady at the desk if there were any open rooms so we could be moved closer to the office as I would feel safer not at the very end. She told me that there were absolutely no rooms left available which I found odd being there weren’t very many cars in the parking lot. I thanked her & got my key cards. After me & the girls drug our suitcases up the stairs & got in our room, we all noticed something dark on the bed, even with the lights off in the room. When we turned the lights on to inspect, it was a blood stain on the comforter the size of my palm. I was disgusted. I immediately called the front desk to let them know but the man who answered talked to me in a tone as if I was a bother to him. He asked if I wanted to switch comforters or rooms. I questioned him because I was just told 5 minutes prior that there weren’t any rooms available but that I did want to move if possible. I went and got my key from the front desk for my NEW room that was CLOSER to the office after hauling our luggage back down the stairs and back in my car. All of this exposed me & my girls even more, the new room also had a few red spots on the comforter so I just took it off & the room was nasty hot. I was so tired from driving 3 hours that I grabbed my blanket & delt with what I got bc there weren’t any other hotels available. I will never go there agai.

There is absolutely nothing that I can say that is positive about my stay at Kings Inn. The rooms are dirty, the a/c was just cool enough that you didn't suffer heat stroke and the roaches in the coffee pot were disgusting. I am very disappointed with Expedia for relocating me from one Roach Hotel to another by the same owners.
