The staff guy was very friendly but the room was horrible. The minute you opened the door to go into room it was full of little roaches. There were little roaches on the fridge, on the floor and the wall near the sink. Not a very pleasant experience.

The only two positives about this place was the cold a/c and the woman working the front desk when I arrived. Otherwise, this property is terrible. I just stayed at a Motel 6 off 1604 near Bandera Rd. in San Antonio, Tx and it was wonderful. I booked this one thinking they were of the same caliber. I was wrong. There was trash all over the parking lot and the hotel was at capacity with people on extended stays. Essentially meaning that they live there. There was no where to park near the rooms, cars being worked on in the parking lot, kids playing in the parking area at 2am and I feared that my vehicle would be damaged or stolen. The room was spacious but dirty. The woman working was very nice and helpful. She knew I was uncomfortable and dreading my situation and did everything she could to help. I appreciated her care and concern. She was truly a good person. After the first night, I woke to the voice of a man with a heavy Indian accent in the hallway. He was yelling at someone, very rudely, and I gathered he was the hotel owner or manager. He woke me out of a dead sleep with his loud and unprofessional behavior. There are better ways to handle your dissatisfaction with your employees. He had no concern for the guests in his hotel when he was yelling at an employee in the hallway which was a complete hypocrisy to what he was yelling about. Jack Ass. I will never stay at this particular Motel 6 again. Too much chaos and I felt unsafe as a lone female traveler.

The staff/owners at this Motel 6 North) in San Marcos, TX were not just rude but were actually vicious toward my family. I think they only want drug addicts (that is all i saw hanging on the balconies and on the walkways leading to the rooms) to stay there. I watched two drug transactions take place in the parking lot while trying to get away from these horrible owners. They were rude and downright mean.

And I heard it from the owner: we do not want ppl like you staying here: 'ppl like us, you mean, families, paid for the room in full, we would have been nice, quiet and would have caused no issues.'

We were polite to start with but when she starting calling us names...very racist names, that was all I could take.

BTW, ALL 3 OF THE MOTEL 6 MOTELS zIN SAN MARCOS, TX ARE OWNED BY THE SAME DAMAGED, MEAN, HORRIBLE, RACISTS. They only let ppl that stay there are like the owners: the dregs of society that no one wants or cares about. Absolutely the most hateful ppl I've encountered in a long time.

DO NOT ALLOW NICE, UPSTANDING FAMILIES, ESPECIALLY WITH CHILDREN STAY IN ANY MOTEL 6 IN SAN MARCOS, TX. TOO MANY DRUGS. DRUG ADDICTS AND DRUG DEALERS FOR IT TO BE SAFE FOR NORMAL PEOPLE.

This property appeared to house mostly long-term residents rather than travelers. The parking lot was filled with rundown vehicles — one was even missing a tire, and someone was performing an oil change on another. There was a deflated kiddie pool outside one of the rooms, and the pool on the property appeared empty or in disrepair.

The receptionist was openly carrying a firearm on her hip, which added to our discomfort. We also observed what seemed to be individuals involved in drug activity, including one person digging through trash and others who appeared to be sex workers.

After checking in, we sat in the car for a while, taking everything in. The overall environment felt extremely unsafe, and we ultimately decided not to even enter our room — we left immediately. Given how unsettling the situation was, we strongly believe a refund is warranted. I would absolutely not recommend this place to anyone.

My opinion of this hotel is not good and these remarks are based on my experiences during my stay.

We had reserved three rooms for four days due to a family member in the hospital nearby. Upon arrival at the hotel, there were police in the parking lot. Even though it was almost 10pm, lots of people were hanging out smoking on the walkways in front of their rooms smoking, drinking and cooking. It was evident that a lot of people were living there in the hotel.

I went to my room and it had not been cleaned so after returning to reception, they gave me a different room which was dirty, had roaches and smelled of smoke and marijuana. My family members' rooms were the same.

Everything on the property was filthy and smelled. Walkways were sticky and you had to dodge run off from the walkways as you went up and down the stairs.

The hotel is located on a 3 lane frontage road right on a major interstate and was noisy all night long.

Despite having reservations for four days, we checked out the next morning due to the state of the hotel and safety concerns.

The desk staff did not know how to check us out and despite them telling us they would sort it out and get back with us, noone has contacted us and all of us are still trying to get refunds for the unused days and the hotel has been completely unresponsive.

I have travelled a lot in my life and i was not expecting a 4 star hotel but do expect a little effort in maintaing a property and keeping it clean.

Daniel, the evening manager was very accommodating of two nights Expedia got my reservation wrong and we had to wait to get in a room our first night because we didn't have the reservation I booked. And the room we had for sure Friday was emptied out because our Expedia reservation was canceled, when I had only asked to have Saturday night cancelled. Daniel and the housekeeper worked very hard both days to get an unbooked room ready for us. But they seemed to be very overcome with bad parking customers and too many problems with other things like a homeless lady and noisy kids on skate boards.

There were cockroaches in the room, no hot water in the room, burn holes from cigarettes on the bedding, room smelled awful, the smell of weed was overpowering everywhere inside and outside, people had dogs that WERE NOT OTHER DOG FRIENDLY!!!! Our dogs travel with us and LOVE everyone they meet, humans and other dogs and I will never understand others who think it’s okay to travel with dogs that are aggressive. Just my opinion. If you have to wave your hand at me to stay in my room cause your dog is that aggressive towards humans and other dogs then you shouldn’t be traveling with your dog. And the hotel should do a better job of observing and keeping these “pets” out of their hotel.

Since floor had no carpet, it needs to be mopped. Just getting into the tub, it was black from my feet getting wet. Killed 3 roaches & 1 got away. So needs fumigating. Had to ask for batteries for the remote, which worked the first night, but not the next. Staff was friendly & willing to help.

Arrived to check in. Female in office with presumably her children. Gave me keys to my room. We went to the room and it smelled like cigarettes and weed in the room. The entire floor was so sticky you could hardly walk without making a ton of noise. There was no refrigerator and i had reserved the room thinking there was one. I went back to the office and requested another room with a refrigerator. She moved us to another room. We moved the car, doding kids playing in the parking lot. Went up to the room, having to pass people sitting on the stairs smoking Marijuana. The second room was much cleaner, but still not clean. The comforter had cigarette burn holes. The towels were very musty and worn. We went out and came back after midnight, when we returned, there were dozens of people hanging out partying in the parking lot. The mattress was very uncomfortable, i felt like i was sleeping on springs the whole night. Not one of my better stays at a Motel 6. Very disappointed.

I recently stayed at Motel 6 and had a positive experience. The evening clerk was very helpful, making check-in a breeze. The rooms were clean and easily accessible, which was a big plus. Another great aspect was the free parking available, and it was convenient to have a pool on-site for relaxation. Overall, I had a comfortable and enjoyable stay at Motel 6.

No. Just no. Don't stay here unless you want to fight off bugs and avoid bed stains. Or get a contact high from the front desk when you check in. We were attacked by bugs as soon as the lights were on. We managed to kill the first wave with no casualties, and the only reason we stayed the one night was because we got there after 130 am and had to sleep, in all our clothes, with shoes on ready to run as soon as the sun was up. Upon rising, we dashed out as fast as we could. Admitting defeat from the mornings three pronged attack from bugs, we retreated to the safety of another hotel the next night and are happy to say, we survived. But I will say the the woman at the counter in the morning was pleasant and duly said she'd speak to the manager for us and make sure we didn't get charged for another night.

The motel facilities have seen far better days. Ice machine was there but I wouldnt use it. No room housekeeping over a four night stay and 1 of 2 bath towels provided was in the rack but really visibly dirty. The bed however was clean and comfortable. Bugs seen were typical of Texas.

I left this exact review on google maps, it goes as follows.

I took off a star for every roach I killed, and another for the overall cleanliness of the property. Sure you get what you pay for, but if you spend anything over $69 bucks a night here, you had better be desperate. Everything in the rooms repair seemed to be patch work, and make sure again, you bring roach spray.

Pro: The staff was friendly and accommodating. I checked in rather late, and there were no towels in the room, and they did not hesitate to bring some to me. I accidentally locked myself out of my room and they were kind enough to make me a new key no problem.

Con: the aforementioned roaches. Also the towels they gave me. One seemed to have a makeup stain, luckily I didn't need to use it but as a floor towel. The location is a pain, if you need to go to a store finding the correct exit is like two exits down from anything, provided the exit is open.

Do in summation, invest more into the employees and the maintenance of the property.

All i can say is terrible stay! I could not hurry fast to get mine and my kids out we moved to the next motel 6 up st at i loved the stay! First off this motel is not organized. I booked 2 rooms and checked in at 2pm. I received my keys and went to check both rooms out turned on tvs and closed curtain now mind you im from austin moving to kyle but born in san marcos so im very familiar with area and local. But i left to visit family down st and when i get back my key does not work come to find out they double booked my room and didnt know why.. ok so 45 mins later they tell me they are booked well duh i booked 2 rooms and thank god i didnt leave bags in rooms cause then i would of just lost it! They have people living on property smells like smoke in alot of rooms not weed but cigarettes ew! The lady that works first shift seems like she has no clue what she is doing how do you double book a room make it make since so they put me in room 205 smelled way better thanks to the guy he called his manager and got it fixed after 45mins later i spent most of my stay trying to get the rooms figured out no rest just stressed so i was glad to get out of there and go up the st where it was peaceful and not everyone hanging out looking like they want to rob you or kill you something at that motel 6 is just not right keep kids away!! Worst experience ever and i love motel 6! Just not that one!

I was very disappointed in my stay here. I actually cancelled reservations for a different motel to come here because of reviews about bed bugs and roaches there. Got here and took a shower and low and behold out came the roaches. Pillow had the stuffing coming out. There was no soap or anything in the room. There were several people that I assume live there lurking out and about all night. The phone in the room did not work either. The workers were very nice, but were having to multitask and do laundry, housekeeping and the desk.

Pay the extra money to stay somewhere else.

This is a bare minimum motel. I just needed a clean room with a comfy bed to sleep for the night after a long day. All was well until I had to kill two roaches that were crawling from under the bed. The people staying next to me had dogs barking through the night. I knew I was taking a gamble by staying at a cheap motel. I lost. Otherwise, the front desk was nice and polite.

Window (poorly fit plexiglass) to room was held in with silicone and the room had a awful smell. I cancelled my reservation and went elsewhere. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. I have stayed in many Motel 6 properties. This one had a "tired" feeling. The staff were very friendly and professional. The room was nice and big but there were several indications of things not being clean. Both bedside tables were sticky and there were no tissues. The towels were truly dingy and one I refused to touch it was so stained. The A/C worked great and the sheets seemed clean. The bed was comfortable and I felt safe. The shower was actually great. It was clean, had great water pressure and the water was good and hot. It's in a very populated area near Texas State University. It just needs a little updating, newer towels, paint on the door jambs (they were really rough).
