We were initially given a room on the first floor, and we could clearly hear noise from the street. Luckily, we were able to change to a room on the third floor.

There were, however, a couple of disappointments. There were construction works at the hotel, which was not very pleasant. In addition, we were asked to pay a €50 deposit at check-in. We were quite surprised by this, as it was not mentioned anywhere in advance.

We were told that the deposit would be released at check-out, but it has been a week since our stay and we have not yet seen the deposit returned to our bank account.

A big thank you to all the staff at DoubleTree who made our stay special and memorable by going above and beyond in every aspect possible. Right from the get go, check in staff were welcoming and friendly, having noticed on a passport that we were celebrating a birthday they provided an upgrade to one of the rooms. After checking in we went out to explore Lisbon, only to return to the room with a pleasant and special surprise, the hotel provided a lovely bottle of chilled Cava and some cake. The gesture along with the service, cleanness of the room and friendliness of the staff made it special and memorable and will recommend this hotel to anyone.

The room was comfortable, but the closet door swung over the only area where we could plug in the kettle for tea; the door was flush with the counter which meant we could not open or close the door with the kettle set on the counter. Very odd!

I liked the foyer and the facilities available. We weren’t allowed in the room until 3 hours after the check in. This was quite inconvenient for the 1st day. We wasted the whole day waiting for the room to be open. We were promised it would be ready 3 times.

I didn’t find the work going on in the area very comfortable. Outside was full of rubble and uneven pathways.

I didnt like the food at the restaurant. I dont recommend eating there. It is walking distance to Alfama if you are a walker, if not, i dont recommend it. Shopping and food is within walking distance. Eat somewhere cool about a 10-15 mins walk. Shopping is less expensive. There is a lot of contstruction in the area but other than that it's a peaceful area.

Out of all of the hotels we stayed at during our trip in Portugal, this was by the far my least favourite. We were greeted with a clump of hair and dirty towels when we entered our room, you can hear everything from the other rooms all night, they are doing construction in the building right next to our room and it looks like a dungeon when you get off the elevator to go to your room. I would definitely not recommend this hotel

We very much like the employees. They are friendly and helpful. However, we were very disappointed by our room, 308, on the black floor. We felt it was depressing and the bathroom was absurd and dangerous. A glass door with no door jamb that doesn’t fully close? A shower with no fixed shower head? Black carpet? We will refuse such a room in the future.

Great staff and quiet location

We were in town for a wedding and stayed here as loyal hilton honors members. The hotel was not the fanciest hilton weve stayed at but the service and location were great. Its a bit far from the lisbon city center but we were ok with that since it can get quite hectic and ubers are super cheap. The staff were lovely and very accomodating. We had a situation with a wedding guest being highly inebriated. Due to circumstances out of our control we had to bring her to the doubletree and the staff were super helpful in getting us a second room set up at 3am ! They didnt ask questions and did what they could to make our night less stressful. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Lisbon.

This is not Hilton quality and definitely not a 4 star hotel. It is a 2 star hotel at best. The shower has no door or shower curtain so when you shower water splashes all over the carpet in the room. The black design is terrible. How can you properly tell if something is clean if everything is black. The furnishings were very old with rust and cracks everywhere. The only good park about this hotel is the location.

Lovely staff but hotel needs updating

Check in was great … especially the front desk who helped me with my taxi driver who tried to charge me $45 for my ride from the airport. The bartender was also lovely. Just wish the restaurant had been open past 10P.

While the room amenities were great per usual, the room (carpet) was not as clean as I’ve come to expect from Hilton properties. And why I wasn’t given Hilton points is still a mystery: I stay in Hilton’s throughout the US and always book through hotels.com!!

Finally, you need to have shower stalls and not bathtubs with showers. For those of us over 65, this can be dangerous!!

We stayed for only one night but had a great stay in Lisbon and very much enjoyed this hotel. Early check-in was arranged by extremely helpful and friendly staff. Family room was great size with wonderful bathroom and all amenities. Hotel was clean, modern and great location. Really positive memories, would certainly recommend for stays in Lisbon.

This location is not a credit at all to the Hilton Doubletree brand. We were stunned by how dark and claustrophobic the hallways leading to the rooms were. It had a horror film feel. The rooms and bathroom were dark and really need some updating.Felt like a cheap budget motel. Probably one of the poorest hotels we’ve stayed in and we travel a lot.

The rooms were weird, all black bathrooms, with glass. You had to climb into the back of the tub, get to the front of it then turn on the shower, if you could. Toilet area, actually whole area was black and extremely difficult to see, even with lights on.

A great birthday trip

Honestly an amazing stay. Outside of the noisy area and frankly a beautiful hotel with amazing staff. They could use a doorman as the doors are heavy and not automatic but this was a fantastic place and the staff were amazing. We came to celebrate a friends birthday and had a small cake delivered to the room along with a warm and friendly face at every turn. Breakfast was well worth it and the pastel de nata was always fresh and delightful. The hotel has a super modem and dark design but I frankly loved it and booked just for this moody vibe. I would recommend to anyone staying in Lisbon.

It seems that there was some renovation going on which we should have been informed by Hotels.com. The access to the room was through a maze of dark corridors with only one small jerky elevator which was very dimly lit. I would not stay here again!

Breakfast options are excellent quality and fresh. The room is clean and quiet. Curtains can fully block outside light. The front desk people are very friendly. There is a grocery store within 3 minutes walking distance. It is convenient to the airport and Oriente station.

I liked the access to many areas of Lisbon. The tub layout was the only real issue. In all the advertising and pictures online they show the tub as freestanding and mine was surrounded by sharp glass and on my first night I slipped and got a really bad bruise on my leg

The hotel was very clean, everyone adhered to COVID avoidance and social distancing, many useful practices were in place. Only complaint was the showers, tried many times. But was never able to adjust the hot water or add cold water. My child actually got scald by the crazy shower head.

OK hotel for the money

Beware! Even though there is a label around each bottle of mineral water that says "Compliments of the hotel", only the 1st day's bottles are free! I made the mistake of using the bottles they supplied after the 1st day and was charged 2.50 euros for each bottle even though it has that label. There is some fine print that says they will charge you (but I never saw that printed anywhere).

I did not like the corridors and layout of the rooms on the floor. It was all black and you felt like you were going into a prison. I think someone made a big mistake with the decor in this hotel. A real shame as the location is very good. The cleanliness was not great either. I don't think I would stay here again!

Good base for exploring Lisbon

Initial issue with first room dealt with quickly. Rooms are a good size, but some people may not enjoy the total lack of privacy in the shower. The corridors are hideous, they look like rows of lockers. Staff excellent, all very helpful and friendly. Breakfast good. Lack of bars/restaurants in the immediate area. But Lisbon is quite small so not long to get anywhere.

Comfortable bed but problems otherwise: the closet is very small and the door won’t open fully so you can’t pull out the drawers. Also, the handing space is only for shirts so you can’t hang a dress and anyway, the rail is too high and I couldn’t reach it. There is nowhere else in the room you can hang anything so I had to steam my dresses while holding then. A silly hotel designed by a man for men only.

This hotel appeared to be near the airport but in fact it's in the business district and not close to downtown. So unless you need to be in this area I'd say give it a miss. Awful black painted corridors which are like some 80s disco feel, gives you a headache walking to your room. Rooms are too black also, hard to read in bed. Service was good, the bar/restaurant is overpriced. There are a few restaurants walking distance but it's a long walk to the port and e10 to the airport. The bed was extremely hard and gave me a backache which lasted 2 days.

Sub standard compared to other double trees

This double tree seems to have a different design compared to others I have stayed at. Black and green decor. The toilets are pitch dark when the door is shut which is a bit odd. Otherwise all the essentials are there. Room was a bit on the small side and it was a shame they didn’t clean the floors properly on a daily basis. Overall fine but wouldn’t stay again.

A great place to chill.

Doubletree by Hilton Fontana Park was a lovely ,comfortable place to stay. It gave us plenty to explore and we enjoyed the walk into central Lisbon. I would fully recommend this hotel for those who enjoy a bit of peace and quiet in a luxury hotel. Some might think it was a little too far out but it was only a 15 - 20 minute walk through a lovely shopping area and we loved getting back to the serenity.
