The hotel is on the older side, lack of renovation. Though clean, our bathroom stank and if we didn't close the door, it makes the rest of the room stink. We booked city view room which was pathetic because it was on the third floor. The room was adjacent to a public balcony where people went to smoke, which means most of the time our curtain had to be closed in case someone looked in. So natural light was minimal. If there weren't our usual hotel available, definitely wouldn't have gone for this one.

Shopping/eateries were all within walking distance (20 minutes and under). Hustle & bustle vibe. Hotel needs major renovation work (from rooms to common areas). Bathroom drainage was clogged. Damp smell throughout hotel due to humidity and lack of proper ventilation and air conditioning in common halls. The only redeeming aspects of this hotel were the friendly and responsive staff (English speaking) and the location of the hotel. We were out and about almost the whole day so staying inside the hotel was minimal but for those who want a more \"cleaner\" feel of their lodging, this would not be the place for you. Breakfast selection were good and offered a variety. For under $100 a night, you get what you pay for in HCM...spend above $100 and you'll get the 4star feeling...spend $200/nite to get the 5star. Thanks for the pleasant stay.

There was construction, the total the race until I switch the rooms. The air conditioning kept leaking, had to switch another room. But overall, the staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the buffet was out of this world.

Good breakfast and friendliness staffs.

We stayed here for the reason of attending to the party at this hotel. We like good breakfast here and staffs at their friendliness so we decided to stay for the rest of our trip. We would like to come back and would recommend to friends and families.

The staffs are pretty nice, very helpful to my mom who partially weak on one of her knees. They male staffs by the door help welcome us back to the hotel every time. They even offered to help carry heavy stufs to our room when we bought big stuffs The room are nice and clean. But compared to the last time I stayed here the room seem more outdated, would need upgrades for example there is no outlet charge phones and other devices near the beds. I have to use the outlets in the bathroom to charge my phone.

Facility outdated. The sheets were old need to be replaced. Aside from that I did not have a good experience with the staff. We sat in front of the hotel since the tables were empty. One female staff from the restaurant came and asked if we were staying there we said yes and then two minutes later another one came with the menu. Because we had left over drinks from our walk we did not order. They said we have to sit inside. Yet I saw people sitting that didn't order but no one asked them anything. This is poor customer service, I can understand if the tables were full and we didn't order but this case they were empty, it was unwelcoming. Never staying there or recommending this place.

Though I wondered how often pillow covers and bed sheets are changed, I was very pleased with the hotel's service. Everyone from day 1 from the doorman to the check-in girl to the porter, the cleaning staff and restaurant staff and even their chief accountant that I met was very friendly and helpful. I felt welcome and home after many trips in and out of Saigon during Jan 2020. The location is super convenient. I used to stay at KimDo Royal Saigon Hotel across (3 times) but I will continue staying at this hotel when I'm back to VN every few years. Keep up the good work !!!

Checking into this hotel with my partner who is Vietnamese ended in a young male receptionist speaking down to us and talking to her as though she was a prostitute in both Vietnamese and English.
We have been living together in Vietnam for several years, and this is the first time we have encountered any such issue.
I was told that it is Vietnamese law, (it isn’t) that we are to produce a marriage certificate otherwise we will have to book a second room to “avoid trouble with the police”.
I challenged him with this as I have lived in Vietnam for a decade and am familiar with my legal rights and obligations regarding this.
I said I would cancel my check in and I would like to speak with his manager.
He refused and behaved in a manner as though he was “doing me a favour” by allowing me to stay.
The doorman and the security guard were both polite, as was the female staff member accompanying the young man who checked me and my partner in.
I spoke with the assistant manager regarding this matter the following morning, and she was very apologetic and professional regarding this matter.
Regarding the room itself, the drainage in the shower did not work, and the water was cold.
We were given a room with a window which had a concrete wall about 10 centimetres in front of it.
The room itself was dirty and there were dead cockroaches and other insects scattered through out the room.
For 1.2 million vnđ for a room which could be outdone by most Nhà Nghỉ, stay away.

This hotel is good if you want Cheap and Local on the walking street. U might also want to check Saigon Prince Hotel. Both are about same price. But Saigon Prince is better. This hotel on day 1.
1. We paid for good room. Fridge was warm, thus stuff inside not good. Café Make did not work had to be replaced, Safe locked had to have it opened. MOULD IN SHOWER, Needle on floors in bedroom. NOW: I they have a full bar and menu. I try to order a cappachino. Well they say they are out for the day. But they have Milk and Expresso Machine for Iced Café. My guess is they don't know how to use it. Elevators work on and off. Not reliable. This hotel is very old and not the best. I have stayed in 10 hotels over the 18 years in Saigon. This one is the worst. The staff is friendly, the cleaning ladies nice. Door Man is nice. They just are not modern, and for the location they should be better. This is 1 star hotel at best.

Oskar Saigon Hotel (Expedia)
•Changed hotel
On arrival there was a man in front of us at reception very angry at being relocated to another hotel in the chain due to some mechanical problem in his room. When we reached the desk we got the same story so obviously they decided to relocate us instead. We agreed and were eventually checked into the alternative hotel (Queen Ann Hotel) about one hour after our initial arrival.
•Facilities in “new” hotel
Problems included a toilet with the small flush only functioning and a kettle with a very short cord and “Australian” plug. Also the air conditioner fan did not work.
•Free massage vouchers
We were relocated back to the Oskar Saigon Hotel the next day where we were given “free” massage vouchers as compensation. When we attempted to use the vouchers it became clear that the massage service was a prostitution service.
•Facilities
The TV electrical socket was dead. I had to unplug the refrigerator which in any case was not cold enough.
Much of the lighting outside the room was broken and not maintained.
•Poor taxi service
When leaving the reception staff booked a taxi. I expected him to get a metered taxi which is usual in Ho Chi Minh. When the taxi arrived I queried him on this but he appeared not to understand. With little choice I paid 150,000 dong for a three and a half kilometre ride to the airport.

This hotel was in an excellent location. It is walking distance to Ben Thanh Market, Saigon market, and much more. The service was friendly and very helpful. They spoke very good English. The breakfast was very good. I would defiantly stay here again.

The shower’s handle broke, serviceman came twice, couldn’t fix it, then when it fixed, water couldn’t come out. They said that water is low since we were in the 7th floor!!! The hotel has 11th floor!!!
I borrowed an extra card key. Front desk called me at 3:30am, asking for it back! I asked them: what’s the urgency, they said that’s the hotel policy!!!!
The room has no window, the lighting is yellow and low, the carpet is dirty and ripped.
The hotel should be rated 1 Star,not 3 star.

Too many Indian customers make the hotel noisy, shout loudly , slam hotel doors, knock at every door to find their friends. Hotel should impose or control their \"activities\" after 10 pm .
Luckily only for 2 days and at least peaceful stay for the next 2 days before check out

A great standard hotel in the heart of Saigon.

A very nice hotel in the heart of Saigon!! The room was pleasant with a good view of the city. The breakfasts were tasty, hot and plentiful.
The reception staff were a little cold though the concierge and porter were fantastic!! They were able to help us find a great travel agent 2 mins from the hotel.
Our only problem was with the room’s wifi.

This was my first stay at the Oscar Saigon in about 15 years. The hotel is older but the rooms are attractive, clean and functional. The elevator wait can be a few minutes at certain times of day. The location is perfect for vacationers and a variety of excellent restaurants are within a few minutes walk. The price is a good value compared to larger chains. The breakfast buffet is traditional Asian hotel cuisine. Adequate especially when included in the room rate. Will stay there again.

Disappointing experience

We booked an ELEGANT ROOM on Expedia but what we got was as small room with a double bed on the second floor with NO WINDOWS. It was claustrophobic and dim. We asked to change rooms but the front desk told us fully booked but can upgrade for USD20.00. What was worse. The breakfast was dismal. Lots of junk food and while we were eating the cleaner was sweeping the floor. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE.

Need Earplugs to Stay and Go Yourself Hungry

A memory is Noise, from street (via window), from next door and even from lift.. You may be OK if drunk.
Another unforgettable is Breakfast. I regret I did not go starving rather than took some (spoiled) stomach-trouble pudding and yogurt. About-a-week diarrhea spoiled my journey in Ho-Chi-Minh and even after back home.
However, the staffs and the people in HCM were friendly, minimum compensation^.
