Beautiful pub, good food, continental breakfast and service BUT do not stay in twin room. En-suite tiny, basin is so small and is inbuilt on the toilet cistern, impossible to use! Noise from keys in door locks is very disturbing. Window really difficult to slide open, is on the ground floor and large opening so you have to close it at night. You could clearly view one bed through a large open keyhole.

This was capped with a couple of the said guest creating a fire in their room and activating the fire alarms at 3am in the morning and waking all the other guest who were forced to evacuate their rooms. A group of unthoughtful and rude individuals that spoiled what would have been a good stay.

The room was absolutely fine, albeit not particularly well insulated from the sound of other guests. I was a little disappointed with the food. Service was fine but my meal was no than average pub fare. I'm pretty sure my burger had been frozen at some time in its' life and would have expected something with a bit more flavour and a little less chew. I would certainly stay again though.

The Bull is a quaint pub with an accommodation block at the rear. My room has to be one of the smallest I’ve ever encountered. The main room was so small that the double bed only just fitted with a side table on each side. There was no other furniture in the room because there was no space. It’s annoying when you need to work.
The bathroom was equally tiny with small shower cubicle. The door from the bedroom to the bathroom could only be partially opened as it snagged on the basin.
The food was disappointing although the service was friendly. Breakfast was much better.
Overall, I’m not sure I would return to the Bull on the Green.

Cleverly decorated with good supplies (apart from drinkable tap water). It was cosy and well heated, which was just as well as the shower was rubbish (freezing cold with low pressure) and the room is separate to the hotel - the door opens directly onto the carpark

Booking in, the bar manager was quite rude.
Nothing in the room made the accommodation deluxe. Comfortable bed,but all beds should be comfortable. Put my elderly mum on a different floor to myself,when there were no other guests staying. Didn't feel safe as the locks had been taken out of the outer door. Missing light. Someone else's towel left on the door hanger. Toilet squeezed in by the shower. Things reported but no answers given. Very disappointed as the stay was a treat for my mum's birthday. Not a friendly atmosphere.....Nice Bakery next door and lovely cafe up the road.

Great location and one member of staff, Raine, went beyond efficient and helpful when room wasn't to our liking! Rooms terribly small and poor ventilation options for room 1. Room 9 better by far but only v hot water shower, and when windows shut for security at night could t be reopened. Hats off to staff. Only small people should stay here.

This is a nice pub and the food was good. But our room was very small for two people, cramped, stuffy even with the window open, and inconvenient. The bathroom down the corridor needed attention - toilet seat almost falling off, and the shower control didn't work properly. We were in room 8, and users of the adjoining room 9 shared the outside door which they didn't keep locked although we had to use the hall to get to our bathroom.

Two conditioners and no shampoo. No hairdryer either! The bed was so bad and uneven that I fell out twice. What else do you need to know. For £100 plus breakfast I would expect more.

The property was in a great location and the staff excellent. The only downside was that we were not informed it was a shared entrance and at 01:30 a couple opened the door (making plenty of noise), this left us bewildered and on edge for the rest of the night.

The staff were terrible I am afraid. We returned from Glynebourne at 10.30pm and were pretty much told we were lucky to be allowed back into our rooms - and certainly weren’t allowed to have a drink in the bar. Very inhospitable and we couldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Just not fun! A chap who was also staying who had paid for breakfast (we had to leave too early the next day) had to leave before having his breakfast because they hadn’t opened the place up. Terrible!

Room small but ok. No opening window in the room. Breakfast was a big disappointment - apparently you need to tick a box if you want the ‘free’ breakfast. That was not told to us on arrival. The discussion with the barman about this was very uncomfortable and he offered no solution.

Everything was perfect, friendly, comfortable and charming. Our only conplaint was that the shower had not been cleaned there was the old shampoo packet still in the shower and the black mold in the shower unit. Inside the radiators there is a lot of old dust snd cobwebs. We would stay there again

On arrival we were informed that chef did not arrive until 8am so no breakfast until after that, clearly far too late for anyone going to work!
We were then informed that the bar would close at 9pm every evening! even for residents, nobody on site after that time at all.
Due to covid, no room cleaning, this is now being offered at most hotels, but was not an option here, no offer of replacements teas coffee etc or even toilet rolls, you had to go and ask.
Customer care not heard of here I am afraid you were the last consideration, he even informed me that the pub down the road would also be closed at 9 if not before, which was complete rubbish.

This is a beautiful old pub set in a very pretty East Sussex village - the sort you see in films of \"Olde England\", made complete by a fair on The Green! All the staff were so friendly and made us welcome, and the food was good, although the menu was rather limited. The room, in a converted barn(?) at the back was clean, spacious and well equipped with everything we needed. Although some of the rooms were on the ground floor, ours was at the top of a fire escape, which could have been a problem if we had been any older or infirm, but at least we felt secure, despite the noise coming from another guest room. Unfortunately we had to leave very early and missed the breakfast, which I am sure would have been exceptional, as was our very short but enjoyable stay. Would we come back? You bet!

The Bull at the Green is a lovely place to stay, we were booked for an evening meal on the Bluebell Railway which is close by. The accommodation was spotless, we stayed in a large double room and the room was spacious and well decorated. We ate lunch and breakfast in the pub and the service was outstanding. Would definitely recommend.

We wish we could have stayed longer, the large double room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. we ate in the pub, a varied menu, efficient friendly staff. The sun was shining in the morning before departure and we enjoyed a good breakfast outside overlooking the picturesque village green. A most enjoyable stay in the Sussex countryside.

Our reception at the Hotel was excellent and throughout our short stay nothing was too much trouble for a very friendly staff. Quality of room and facilities was good and a bit unusual - which added to the charm of the hotel, Meals were good and menu reasonably varied. According to hotels.com the room should have had a King size bed. The bed was a standard 4ft x 6in double. The mattress was very uncomfortable.
On leaving the hotel during the afternoon for an evening out I asked a member of staff if the outer door of the pilgrim rooms would be open when we returned later that night. He said it would be open. When we returned at about 11.15pm the outer door was locked and we were soaked waiting in the pouring rain for someone to unlock the door.
During the night we heard a buzzing noise and found an extremely large wasp in the room.
The room was dirty with piles of dust. The bathroom was extremely tired in appearance with a leaking shower hose and dripping hot water tap.
The cooked breakfast for an extra charge was dreadful. The sausage was undercooked. The bacon overcooked. The toast was 2 thick bloomer slices without any butter. Overall a very greasy breakfast.

Very nice pub b&B with good food, breakfast is ectra and you have to book a cooked breakfast the night befor. sleep disturbed at 5.30 am (both days i stayed) due to delivery vehicles slamming door and rattling trollies or casks. Surpised that the room as not made up after the first nights stay

Could feel the springs in the mattress. The room was freezing, when I complained they brought us some tiny 'blankets' and said they could get an engineer to come Monday...we checked out Sunday. The bathroom was so small the door hit the sink and you had to go in fully, close the door to get the shower. Shower was also freezing. Only two teabags, only two coffee sachets, four milks.
The menu at the pub was absolutely awful, the vegetarian selection none existent.
Don't use this hotel as a base as there are absolutely no taxi drivers that will go 'out of there area'. To do so (which was 6 miles down the road) would have cost us £60+!!!

Very basic and old room decor ,felt cold and damp ( no evidence of damp ) ,teeny weeny TV ,no socket accessible beside bed had to pull bed away from wall to plug in phone charger ,also extremely noisy with other guests coming and going ,for price paid not good value , breakfast started at 8 am would have been better starting at 7am for guests staying for business

The location of this hotel was good, and it is an attractive area. The check-in wasn't good as I was asked to pay, despite having paid in advance, and a manager had to be called when I produced the booking confirmation (who pointed out that the payment was showing on the system). The room was very small and had no opening windows, other than in the bathroom, so was hot and stuffy. The mattress was also very worn and uncomfortable. We ate in the pub one evening and whilst the meals were relatively expensive, the food was very good.

One night stay, nice spacious room with good array of hot drinks etc. With the pub offering food and drinks. Breakfast was continental and of good standard. Both evening and morning staff were all helpful and very welcoming.

First room bed broken. Luckily had a room spare but bathroom not at all nice. Black mould in places fan not working and being a wet room without a window each time you had a shower everything got soaked with condensation.
