This is a great hotel to stay at. The bar had all the drinks I needed, and the kitchen also had great food. The staff were respectable and very helpful. It was family oriented, even though I didn't have a family. All around it was a great stay 5 stars.

It was freezing in the rooms I asked if the can turn up the heat because you can’t do it from the rooms ant it was still cold. We went to go to the pool and couldn’t get in I had to call the front desk and they had to let us in and out when done. We went to the rooms to take a shower and neither room the water wouldn’t get hot we ran it about 20 minutes and it was still cold. I called the front desk about nine times to report the problem and nobody answered so finally I went down there and it still took awhile to get someone. I told them I wanted to leave and wanted my money back.

On site free parking, friendly service. Basic rooms nothing fancy but pretty clean and the price is right. Perfect if coming to the area for a show at Lorain Palace or Black River Landing easy walk to both. A few decent bars near by , Speak of the Devil for drinks, Brass & Bronze has good food and decent selection of cocktails, and Scorchers is a neighborhood soorts bar to grab a beer or \"bar food\"

Overall a very nice no frills stay. Parking was available right at the hotel. Our room was just a little beat up. It had several cosmetic issues. There weren't really any extras with the stay, but we didn't need much other than a place to sleep. Our view happened to be directly into another room, so that wasn't really the ideal.

My daughter and I were in town for a fishing charter and had a wonderful stay at the Ariel. The hotel staff was very friendly and the food we had at the restaurant was really good as well. Our room was much bigger than I was expecting and the hotel had a very “grand” atmosphere when we walked in…chandelier lighting, very spacious etc. The location couldn’t have been any better for us as our charter destination was only minutes away but seemed to be within a few minutes walk from a lot of different places (restaurants, shopping etc.) I already told my wife if we ever make it back as a family we’re definitely staying here again!

The kids really enjoyed the pool, especially since they had it to themselves. We were disappointed the restaurant wasn’t open for breakfast but had menus out the night before.

The biggest issue was the HVAC system in our room. It was “stuck” at 60 degrees and wouldn’t warm up. In the middle of the night I went to the desk and the clerk tried to reset it, but that did not work. I didn’t want move rooms because the rest of the family was bundled up and sleeping and our stuff was all unpacked in the room. It was even more frustrating in the morning when checking out I called the clerk to tell them and it seemed like it was a known issue that hadn’t been fixed. So basically we were given a problematic room when others were available.

We arrived and staff was not helpful-and not often at the desk to ask for help. We found dirty black womans underwear at 11 am on the lobby sofa-staff had not seen it. On the last morning while packing up the car we found vomit right outside the front door. For that much money, highly disappointed and wouldn’t recommend. Very dirty and lack of care from staff.

The room was a decent size and very clean. I asked if I could see it first and was told I couldn't but I could change rooms later if needed. It worked out. The lobby is pretty. There is a restaurant in the lobby. There's a bar downstairs. We were here on a Wednesday night so it was quiet. The bed was comfortable. Love the area next to the lake/ river with a beautiful park nearby called Lakeview. The pool was warm. I was told the hot tub was under reconstruction but it literally is gone... there's just a floor there now. Staff was polite. Not overly friendly but nice. I gave it an okay because there seemed to be some disorganization. Being told the hot tub had been under construction. The pool door was locked so we had to upstairs and ask about it. Not any big issue.Elevators work fine but one is closed.

This was an ok stay. I wouldn't go back for an extended stay. We were passing thru and stayed 1 night and that was enough! It took a long time for someone to even show up to the desk. They had a phone out that said to call for service, we did that with no answer. Finally we got checked in and then we left to find some food, it looked like there was a restaurant at the hotel but it didn't look open. No one was around to inquire about it. The shower was stained and visibly dirty, like a drink had been thrown in the shower and never cleaned up. No hands soap and no extra toilet paper. The mattress was pretty lumpy and old. I don't recommend

The hotel was definitely a good place to stay. My only recommendation would be having a parking garage that's multi-floored but not having access to the building from the ground floor. Otherwise known as the basement makes it very difficult when you have to park downstairs when the parking lot is full, especially during busy weekends like 4th of July and rocking on the river weekends and then have to walk around and up the ramp to get into the hotel. You should definitely have a key access for guests in the basement lot.

We had a short stay here over a holiday weekend. Check-in was fine. The subsequent stay was less than satisfactory. Both elevators were out of service. Night staff at the desk told us to take the stairs to our floor. There were no doors in the stairwell to access the floors, it went directly to the top floor. The desk staff argued with me that the stairs accessed the floors - when I asked if she had ever been up the stairs I was told “I don’t go up stairs”. My husband who uses a cane was forced to climb several flights of stairs unnecessarily. At no point did she ever offer any assistance in getting to our floor beyond vaguely pointing across the lobby to another set of stairs. The following day when we returned to our room neither of the electronic keys worked so we had to return to the lobby to have them re-issued. I do not think we would stay here again.

We stayed in a double room with 2 queen beds for 2 nights on the third floor with lake view.
The room had not been cleaned super well, you could see hairs and dust in the corners and on the floor. We had 2 large bath towels for 2 adults and 2 kids.
The room was noisy as it was right next to a bigger street with lots of traffic during the day. The windows were not keeping the noise out.
The pool was warm, which we loved and we had it to ourselves.
As for the breakfast, we cannot recommend it. Coffee was watery, no milk, just cream. The scrambled eggs tasted very strange. Would not return to eat here.
Thankfully, the hotel is close to other coffee shops and a few restaurants, so there are alternatives.

It was an ok stay - nothing great but nothing bad. We were attending an event in the hotel so it was the convenience that was most important. It was clean but our room could have used a coat of fresh paint - lots of scuffs on the walls. We had a room overlooking one of the streets and it could get a bit noisy. There was no included breakfast and the restaurant in the hotel didn’t open until mid morning which was too late for us and a disappointment.

It’s a motel 6 on steroids. Said they offered breakfast but it was a bagel and piece of fruit in a ziplock bag. Room was ok at best. We picked specifically for the pool so kids would have something to do. They closed it while we were there saying it was down for maintenance. And DO NOT COME AFTER HOURS! 20 minutes at the door ringing front desk to let us in. He came out sleeping looking as hell! Won’t stay again. The rate was crazy high for subpar accommodationsz

The Ariel Broadway Hotel is a jewel of a place, carefully renovated to bring modern conveniences into the luxury of an older, stylish hotel.

Our room was a suite and boasted many amenities: small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, desk, several TVs, an upgraded bath room with walk-in shower, and nicely comfortable bed and sofa. The view was nice, though further back from the lake than I expected. The blackout curtains worked amazingly.
There is a busy road just outside the hotel that did not disturb my sleep at all.

The pool area was locked, but we did not ask the staff about it. They had a large restaurant/game room that looked like it could be very entertaining, too. (we were tired from our drive)

There are a lot of closed businesses in the hotel and in the downtown section near the hotel. We did not feel unsafe, but rather sad. Hopefully that is because we visited off season!

In our room, there was a lovely coffee table book regarding the national registry of retro hotels. I found our experience at the Ariel Broadway Hotel delightful and will be looking for more of these gems in the future.

Its gone down hill.

We switched rooms 3 times because of bad HVAC and a room that hadn't been cleaned since the previous guest. The girl at the front desk was more than accommodating and she eventually got us a room that was satisfactory. My complaint is with the manager the next morning. When I brought these issues to her attention, she shrugged and couldn't have cared less. I used to love this hotel and I've stayed her a few times before. I wouldn't stay again in the future.

Hotel bedrooms were clean. Property seems in an abandoned state outside the rooms. First floor has a completely abandoned large restaurant in plain view and probably not used for a long time.* months and maybe years.
The price was relatively high but we booked the room there because of good reviews online and supposedly it has a gym and a pool. Both the gym and the pool are out of use and the room price and the website weren't adjusted although those amenities are likely never available or in function.

Great place. Brought back memories when it was the Renaissance hotel back in the days. Pool is extremely small but it’s downtown Lorain in the summer your right next to the concerts Rocking on the river !
