Upon arriving there was no staff available to check me in, I was also charged extra outside of my Expedia charge, excluding my extra request. This property is an extended stay hotel not like the other Sonesta properties. Room was dirty, inside the closet was dusty, the bathroom and couch smelled like urine. I couldn’t sit on it without a cover on it. The Wi-Fi & TV was also unavailable for an entire day, I tried calling the number for help & no one answered. Overall not a good property , I was extremely misled by the photos of the rooms.

The room door was jammed. I couldn’t even stay here because I didn’t feel comfortable knowing the door wouldn’t lock. And the tv is very outdated. When I turned the tv on it said no connection. Will not be coming back here again. However they did offer me a full refund and I’m grateful.

Reservations made about a week prior. Have been here about every 6 months since 2023 for my daughter's appointment (sometimes sooner if we are picking up a new brace) because we like the location. Jan15 was a major snow/ice storm that affected Buffalo to Westlake so our 5 1/2 hr trip turned into over 8 hrs. I recieved a call at 9:14 pm from a number that came up as Residence Inn by Marriott asking if I wanted to keep my room, if not they understand because the roads were bad and could cancel my room and let expedia know I wasn't charged. I thought I booked the wrong hotel because of number so I told them to cancel. I went in to book again (way more expensive) to make sure we had somewhere to stay. After booking I realized that the original booking was correct, since I was only 10 minutes away I asked the lady at the check-in if I could have my original booking back. She told me I could and I got upgraded for the same price. We settled into our room (which lacked garbage cans, dirty floors, and a messy couch), we found a place to eat and then went to bed. When I realized I was charged for both rooms I called the hotel, Jessica said she had distinctly remembered me from checking in and had to upgrage me to fit \"all my kids\" and set off the fire alarm which is why I had to pay for both rooms and why they denied the refund when requested by expedia. She said it was all documented in the notes of my stay, only stopping to ask what car I drove.Time to find a new place.

Jess called me at 3:40pm saying the room I booked was not available and was unable to provide another room with handicap accessibility. She suggested going to a location over 20 minutes away and I said I need something closer. Jess (asst manager) assured me I would not be charged. I was charged and now have to go through hoops for refund. We’ve stayed at this location before no issues never again.

We travel a lot & will always look for a Sonesta from now on. I’ll be honest, we weren’t thinking ahead for Thanksgiving. We booked 2 rooms
for 6 people. On our way in, the receptionist called & offered us an upgrade to a suite. So we we had a kitchen & were able to make a Thanksgiving dinner together. It was a great day off- we did our laundry & it was so comfy. Thank you so much for your kindness!

Fully equipped kitchen, clean room, adequate parking, good in room amenities, great location by alot of restaurants and shopping.

My issue was the first room I was assigned reeked heavily of cigarette smoke, even with the window open.

The staff was friendly, responsive, apologetic and accommodating. They quickly moved me to a fresh room closer to the front of the building. Overall, a good experience for one night. I would stay here again.

Room was not as advertised, they do not have ANY working fire places. All have been removed. That was a MAJOR reason for the rental. The room did not feel clean, and upon entering the room I immediately find 3 foot bright blue suitcase filled with someone's belongings from before my stay. Did not even sleep in the bed slept on the couch. Would not recommend a stay here.

So angry and want my money back. not as advertised. for one thing, I was allowed to book the room after the front desk apparently closed. so my poor niece and her baby had to keep calling to get someone to come down. then the baby got locked in the room alone, because the key stopped working and the door closed and she couldnt' get in to the room and had to keep calling the front desk. there was no pack n play for the baby. so not family friendly. and there was NO buffet breakfast as advertised. this is a terrible way to arrive after 11 hours driving with a special needs child. awful.

We were not expecting a 5 star hotel but when we walked in the room, it smelled pot too much and the room itself did not look great. My wife started getting headaches right away. We left right away and notified the staff that we going somewhere else. Staff was nice and they said we won’t be charged and that a refund will be issued. I would not go back.

The property was like putting lipstick on a pig. Some updates to countertops and furniture, but the carpet was shot and full of stains. Additionally there were holes in the closet door as well as in the shower ceiling on the lower level bathroom. No toilet paper holder and we found things that weren’t cleaned like a half drank Coke in the fridge. There was also a strong horrible smell as soon as we entered the unit that smelt like a mix between smoke and mildew. We were so tired from traveling that we bought fabreeze air freshener spray to deal with it for our one night there. We left early before the sun rose to get out of there. Not sure why there was a $250 deposit hold for a place like this. Spend a little more money and stay somewhere else.

The Property is in serious need of refurbishment. I booked months ago, looked ok based on the images used. However on arrival it was a different story,we waited ages before anyone arrived at the desk to check us in. The stairs to the room were rotten, timbers needed replaced and painted. The room was not well equipped no glasses, cutlery, plates. No kettle to boil water.
Cleanliness was another issue, windows dirty. Kitchen not clean either. Room had very bad smell.
Door onto balcony lock was broken so could not be secured.
Had to ask for towels a number of times and had to wait each time for ages at reception for anyone to turn up.
Only two pillows on bed asked for another, after swearing male member of staff handed me a plastic bag with a pillow inside, no pillow cover. His attitude was awful, you do not swear at customers. Bins in grounds not emptied, watched raccoons pull food from bins.
Swimming pool was out of use and looked like it had been for a long time, very disappointing in the middle of summer
Would not recommend this property.

We stayed the end of June and there was no water in the pool, there was no breakfast as advertised in the photos, there was coffee in the room and lobby but no coffee pots to brew it. This was just an overnight stay on our way to our destination so it served its purpose but with children we prefer a stay with a pool.

The girl at the front desk was polite. There was a gentleman I assumed worked there carrying on about cussing someone out that was staying there and obnoxious about the pool. There was bugs everywhere and blood and feces in the bathroom and blood on a curtain in one spot. The locks looked like they had been broken before and the tv would shut on and off. Okay so firstly there aren’t many hotels that have basically townhomes available so space wise this is a gem. However space is really the only thing this hotel has going for it.

Our 3 bed room came on two floors, makes sense space wise. But no elevators so if you have a wheelchair or are unable to walk upstairs this is not the place for you. As soon as we walked in the smell of weed hit. Honestly I get it, it’s a hotel but then we saw the stains on the carpet and burn holes on the PLASTIC couch. Wow that was uncomfortable.

The living room had a tv, along with one in the room with the 2 full beds, and the king upstairs, but NO REMOTES. Front desk was able to provide me with one remote, no big deal. After an outing we came back and my goodness the weed smell was now stronger than ever. I called about it, not really much help there. My assumption is the neighbor downstairs or next door smoked in the bathroom and the vent came right up to our room.

Our third morning we were greeted with with the smoke alarm going off, without a reason. Nobody was using any appliances. It went off for about a minutes before stopping on its own. I called the front desk and the stated “maintenance isn’t here on Saturday. The manager is home.” I asked them to have the manager to call me. Ofcourse no such call came through.

There is no turndown service, I get it, it’s not that kind of hotel. Trash wise, you have to take it over to the dumpster on your own.

My absolute favorite location to stay. The employees here are absolutely amazing and I would highly recommended this place to anyone looking for a nice comfortable hotel with great staff. I’m actually thinking about applying for a position here just because I grew so close to this location and I can see myself working here and being apart of the team. Thanks sonesta westlake. Me and my children are grateful for the kindness and cleanliness and just overall great atmosphere you all have. Losing my house was devastating but having a short term home for my children here has been a blessing.

The property was ok. When we arrived the guy told us that our room wasn’t available due to pipe damage. My husband and never received any information or email we drove 3 hours to stay at this hotel.
He told us that we had to contact Expedia to accommodate us with another place . Also that we should have received an email from Expedia due to pipe damage. None of this happen. Thank goodness I booked through Expedia they took care of the issue . But this Hotel should be responsible for not reaching out.

We booked our room through Expedia. Don’t fall for the same trap if prompted to pay additional fees for breakfast. We did, only to find out the hotel hasn’t offered breakfast since 2019. Our stay at the hotel otherwise was fine. The room was clean, but showed its age. There were pet stains in a few places on the carpet and some big splash stains on the curtains. For the price, we weren’t expecting a five star hotel so it was just fine and convenient for what we were doing in Cleveland.

Terrible experience! We are not high-maintenance people and never changed a room but this hotel room smelled awful like it hadn’t been cleaned in days. We found dirt and hair in the bathroom/sink. The linens looked suspecious. We arrived at night planning to stay 4 nights but left the hotel first thing in the morning. The staff were not very helpful despite offering to change the room but we did not trust the hotel anymore after chatting with them. When we asked for a refund for the rest of the duration, they refused and didn't even offer partial refund any kind of compensation. Definitely would not recommend staying there!

Overall this was a very good stay. The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable and the kitchen was a plus. although we kept hearing a beep coming from somewhere and couldn't find it until check the dishwasher and had to reset it to stop the noise. We also comeback from and event downtown and could smell gas when we walking in the room. We told the person upfront about it and they said they would send Maintenance but they never arrived. Other than that very good stay. Not to far from Stadium, Downtown and close to crooker park!

Stayed here as a stop over on our way to Buffalo. Location was great (off the highway and close to eating options). Room was large and although it was a suite, it didn’t have any cups for the in room coffee maker (or any cups, plates, etc). Door was difficult to open and another guest said it was because it was “kicked in” by someone (which was unsettling). We eventually got in the room and it locked ok. Would stay again because of the location.

We had to switch rooms because the first the toilet was clogged and the key card would not work. After changing rooms still had issues with the key card not working much of the time. We had to ask for more towels-not enough for people booked. There was no housekeeping service. Had to take out the trash and make beds ourselves. When more towels needed had to take back the dirty ones to get clean. We needed the sofa bed but had to call for linen and make it ourselves. Had to ask for another pillow. All pillows were extremely flat.
