Very relaxing hotel with great ambiance being surrounded by many period features. Our room at the top was very clean and tidy and worked very well. The breakfast was great with plenty of fruit, fresh orange juice and includes a cooked breakfast if you wanted. The gentleman looking after the breakfast supply was very attentive, thanks. The check in was easy and explained the special parking and where our room was very well. The Markt was only around 8-10 minutes walk at the most via the fish market. Thank you.

The staff was friendly. I enjoyed my room. They have screens on their windows to protect from mosquitoes and bugs!!!!! Which really made my life easier and I have noticed that a lot of hotels don’t do this. I would come back just for this comfort! 💖

As a pet friendly hotel, I was nervous about staying here, but they went out of their way to make efforts to make sure I got an allergy free room. We were given a room upgrade, it was very peaceful looking out onto the courtyard. The room was very comfortable with a large bathroom and massive bed!
The hotel was perfect for walking into the main city area. The staff were very helpful.
My only minor criticism was the breakfast didn't open until 0800hrs and i needed an early start for business so we did not sample the breakfast. My fault really for not checking first. If we visit Bruges again we will definitely look to book this hotel

When I alerted the staff that my husband had some issues which made stairs difficult - they moved us to a ground floor room. It was deeply appreciated. And Jan Brito is a building and gardens with great personality.

The location is great for convenient access to sights, a parking garage, and a grocery store. The staff could have made our check-in process better by being more friendly, but perhaps they had a bad morning. The courtyard could use some TLC, but it was so cool to stay in such an old building so I understand. The hotel was great with communication both before and after our arrival and provided a discount card which saved us some Euros. Thanks! 😊

The hotel is in an old manor, it is completely refurbished inside but kept some detailing that make it a fantastic and unique hotel. We absolutely loved it, the location is also perfect. We could walk everywhere we wanted and needed. The only thing was the parking, it is not on site, it is only a minute drive but you have to put the car in an elevator to get to your parking spot so that was a bit annoying but not the end of the world.

The Jan Brito is probably one of the most unique and beautiful hotels my family and I have stayed at anywhere in the world. We loved the history of the building (just watch your head on the exposed wooden beams in the room)! The staff was kind and helpful and the location is absolutely perfect for all the beautiful sights in Bruges. We couldn't have asked for a better situation. Really.

Loved this hotel! I walked from the train station and it was about 25 minutes. The location is walkable and convenient to the whole city. Helpful staff, loved my single room on the top floor with its exposed beams. Would definitely stay again.

It was a typical European hotel. Two single beds in a room, but had all the amenities you would need. It was a seven minute walk to the main Square where you would find all the restaurants, Café and bars you would want. My only complaint was the extra hour they added to my bill at the end of my stay. I asked for a later check out, but was 15 minutes late and was charged even though there was nobody going into my room.

We stayed in one of the family suites... top floor. They are set up like a loft and our (young) teenage kids loved it. The view from the top floor window is pretty cool ad well. Great value for money, grocery store and parking are basically around the corner. We would absolutely return. Only downside... beds are very, very firm, in case that matters!

We had a pleasant experience here. The staff were wonderful. The hotel was comfortable and mostly clean. It is a bit worn out and needs some basic work. For example the shower door seal was broken, the shower head had a small crack, the walls on the staircase had visible cracks, etc. However, despite that, it was a very charming hotel with a nice courtyard and a nice little bar are where we could relax after the day and plan the next one. Would stay here again.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful, if I could, I would give it 11/10. It's situated at a quiet street 2 minutes walk from the historic city centre, close to a nice little park, shops, restaurants and everything you may need. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and I even found a little card and a gift on my bed on my birthday!! Breakfast is quite comprehensive with both cold and warm items to choose from, and a variety of hot and cold drinks. The bathroom has a full toiletry set which is replenished daily, and includes a shower gel, shampoo, soap bar, hair cap, sewing kit and a shoe polish sponge. Towels are changed daily. The rooms have mini bars filled with a variety of beverages. There's a little garden with a fountain, and a small gym and dry and wet sauna rooms (fabulous after a long day of walking in the cold!!). I recommended this hotel already to everyone I know, and I hope some strangers will read this and also be encouraged. AND also, they are dog friendly!!

We stayed at this hotel 1 night for our Brugge visit, myself and my 2 adult sons. The hotel is conveniently located on a quiet street, still walking distance to town. Very nice bar/tea area on the first floor, we stayed in the family loft room on the 4th floor. The room was cold when we arrived, I guess no one was staying there prior, but we turned the radiators on and it warmed up by night. We asked for extra blankets but the hotel said that was not possible but did bring us an extra portable heater, we appreciated that.

I liked that the hotel had ‘personality’ but it needs an upgrade. We were in a stuffy dark room that needed a serious deep clean. The staff were lovely and polite. Breakfast was basic. The best thing about the hotel was location. A ten minute walk to the swiare and the ability to take different canal routes. Also a 20 minute walk to the station.

The hotel was in the most ideal location ,very close to the main markets and the canal. The bedroom at the front, was noisy over the road, but my bedroom overlooking the garden was delightful. The bathroom towels could have been better quality and larger for a four star hotel.

My sisters room on the first floor was cleaned and tidied beautifully, but my room on the second floor, had the bed straightened, but the cover was left folded down and the cushions were left where I'd put them the night before. The bathroom had new towels though, so that was nice.

Good location near centre in quiet street. Parking nearby. Nice breakfast room and lounge. decent breakfast. Bathroom relatively modern. Our \"attic\" room was comfortable, but with only 2 very small windows, rather dark. Very annoying wardrobe position right in front of bathroom door. Garden needed some attention and Spa had to be booked, so never got used! Not quite up to its own glowing description and seemed expensive.

This was a wonderful small hotel near the heart of Bruges, but not in the middle of the crowds. Parking is available at a nearby underground lot at very reasonable rates, so we were able to park our car for our entire visit and walk everywhere we wanted to go. The rooms are furnished with antiques and were comfortable and air conditioned, which helped during the warm spell while we were there.

Excellent hotel with well appointed rooms. The staff are friendly, professional and courteous. Customer service is excellent. It is situated within easy walking distance of the main square and many fantastic bars and restaurants as well as the tourist attractions.

Classic 'Old Style' Hotel
This is a classic 'old style' hotel with large rooms. In fact the bathroom to our room was the largest we have ever been offered - larger than most bedrooms! All well furnished with a bath and large separate shower cubicle. Modern toilet and wash basin. Overall room a little dark despite large windows due to it's position close to the centre of Brugges and the narrow streets. Staff very friendly and helpful. Lovely secluded garden to sit out in if the weather is warm - a definite bonus. Breakfast whilst a typical continental one - did offer bacon, scrambled eggs and baked beans! Parking is in a public underground park about 50 metres away and very easy to access. Overall our experience at this hotel was very positive and we would recommend to anyone.

Lovely little hotel with character.
Hotel is in a great position close to the centre. Rooms are very small but was adequate for the two of us. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Would recomend this hotel.

We have stayed at Jan Brito on at least three occasions over the past six years. On this occasion we were very disappointed to see how it had deteriorated. The staff work hard but clearly they are expected to cover duties other than their assigned ones which results in problems. For example the Reception staff have to leave their desks often to store and release luggage, they also have to go to guest rooms endeavour to solve technical problems. When the lift stopped working because of a faulty door catch the duty Receptionist had to leave her desk for at least fifteen minutes to try and rectify the problem. All of these issues left the main desk unattended.
During our seven night stay our television was out of action for six days even though we reported the problem several times each day. For two of these days snow apparently covered the satellite dish and caused the problem but on the other four days we were given no reason or solution despite the efforts of the duty Receptionists who had to leave their desk to try and find a solution to the problem.
The general cleanliness was certainly below standard- there were large cobwebs in the high beamed ceilings area of our room. Our cleaner seemed to be working hard but obviously she didn't have the necessary equipment to resolve this. There were also cobwebs along the main passageway to Reception just above floor level. There were loose door handles and broken garden lights. Sadly we will not be returning.

I stayed here with my husband for 2 nights for a quick city break. The staff are very nice and speak excellent English. The hotel itself was in a great central location, but it was a bit tired in the rooms. They were nice enough and were absolutely fine for 2 nights, but I typically prefer a more modern room. I had purchased this hotel over others for the free use of the spa, but was disappointed to find out that you had to book in advance to use the spa as it turned out you had private use of the sauna, steam room and gym per hour. Although it was nice to have it all to yourself, it did limit you as to when you could actually use it.

We chose this lovely hotel after reading people's reviews (and not being able to choose out of the dozens on offer!). The price was really good for two nights, and other people had recommended it, so we went for it - and were very glad that we did.
A roaring fire welcomed us in the cosy reception area, where a very polite young lady talked us through what they had on offer. Our room was small but very quaint, with a soaring beamed ceiling - really lovely and unusual. My only slight moan would be that the walls are rather thin, and we were woken up by some noisy neighbours at 2am!
Breakfast was served in a stunning Regency-style room with views over the garden - a real show-stopper.
Overall, an excellent choice - very close to the centre, and with real character.

Historical cozy spot!
Perfect spot for a short getaway to Bruges. Just off the main drag and extremely cozy. Excellent staff, too - very helpful, polite, and accommodating. Rooms are a bit small, but comes with the territory of such a historical space – and city! Would definitely stay again.
