I stayed here for one night before my flight back to Canada and everything was as expected. My balcony was huge with an incredible view, which was the highlight of the room. It was very nice to have such a spectacular view to remember my last day in Lisbon. The staff was super nice also.

This is only the second time in my life, and across multiple countries, that I have truly regretted having to leave a hotel stay. From the moment we walking in the lobby, to the moment we left, there was something special about SANA Rex Hotel, Lisbon. The reception was above and beyond as the staff speak multiple languages and are ready and willing to help you into your room or even upgrade if possible! The room itself was quiet, clean, and had everything you might need. The bathroom even had marble in it! The hotel, like Lisbon itself is seasoned, cosmopolitan, and very regal. It combines modern technology (the SANA App) with time-honored personalized service the Hospitality Industry every where should strive to match! Location? You are adjacent to Edward IV park, which offers a stunning view down to the water and beautiful walk, all the way down to the major town square, also on the water. If you need busses or Uber/Taxi, literally right outside and in front of the hotel is all you could need! However, hands down our favorite part of the hotel stay was the dining and top notch service put on by Ricardo and his associate Ms. Davis. You WILL be impressed by the kingly setting and offerings of the dining area, especially for breakfast. Do yourself a favor and book a stay at SANA Rex Lisbon :) I WILL be back!

The room was fine. The location wasn’t really near things a tourist would go to. The rating most of all was due to the staff being very unwelcoming and unfriendly. Reception and the restaurant staff hardly made eye contact. Not a smile among them. The bar guys were the exception. Very nice.

Pleasantly surprised!

Our flight landed in Lisbon early in the morning and we arrived at the hotel at 10am. The gentleman at the reception desk checked us in early without any additional charges. We were upgraded to a suite room which was great. The hotel is nice and clean with no weird smells. Beds are clean and comfortable. The breakfast is great and has a big selection of food. Staff are hospitable and friendly. I would stay here again and recommend Sana Rex.

A short stopover in Lisbon

The room was great, and overlooked the park; I had been concerned about road noise, but actually it was fine. The room was clean and well presented, and the facilities were good. Staff were all very helpful. Breakfast was excellent. All in all, very happy and would recommend.

Room is not spatious. There is only one elevator for the whole hotel, so there can be problem esp. in the morning when everybody wants to use it. Breakfast is very rich with a lot of food, so everyone can really have good breakfast. Location is excellent.

Everyone was very gracious and friendly. The lobby bar looked nice. Location is convenient.

Only complaint…was the pillar in the middle of my room it was approximately 2x3 and as the room was not large to start with it was quite inconvenient to move around. I was only there one night and didn’t spend much time in the room so for the price it was fine.

Good value for money, next to the main park, a short walk (5 minute) to the street markets (but longer to the river: a 30 minute walk).
Breakfast very good.
Most staff very helpful and pleasant but a couple have had personality bypasses and hadn't redone the PR course!
Despite what other reviews said the lift was fine.

Room was clean and comfortable, but there were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room or the common area, only via the bar or room service. This would be a welcome addition. I stayed here for 8 nights in April 2019. It was constructed when the hallways were still very narrow, but everything is modern and updated. The staff was excellent, and there is a great breakfast every morning that includes everything you could want. I will definitely be back. The location is very central. It is quite and safe.

Sana Rex Hotel & Lisbon

The hotel is fairly close to the city centre, and to a nearby Metro underground station, making getting about very convenient. Overall the city has many great things to see, but it does suffer from lack of signs to things, so you need a map of the city, before you do anything. It was a pleasure visiting Lisbon.

The hotel was away from the historical centre, but had good transport links including buses and the metro. It was close to the hop-on-hop-off buses at the place where you could swap from one line to another. Opposite the hotel there was a park and the covered greenhouse which was worth a visit. The buffet breakfast offered a good range of food and drink and was in what looked to be an old part of the hotel - possibly an old building which was there previously. The AC in my room worked very well, the outside temperature during my stay was 42C. There was a fridge in the room and a good bathroom with a bath though no plug (I carry a universal one). The room was cleaned every day. There was a bar, but I didn't use it. The hotel staff were helpful, I often asked for suggestions on where to go in Lisbon and how to get there. There were cafes and restaurants nearby and El Corte Ingles was within walking distance.

did not get the room we expected. The Front Desk staff were rude. We were moved once and ended up with a room with a 3x2 ft support column in the middle of the room. The bathroom was smaller than my house closet. For 200 CDN$$ per night we were expecting quality for our money. We were disappointed greatly.

In a quieter part of the city

Hotel was ok but the rooms were not ready when we arrived around 6:00pm which was disappointing. We booked two rooms for the family and requested rooms close by but one room was on 1st floor and the other on the 7th floor. We had to take a taxi to the main sites because the hotel is a little out of the central sites but fortunately taxi fares were reasonably priced.

As a single person, I was allocated a poky room with a poor view of the hotel backside.
The breakfast was just about edible, there is scope for improvement .
The staff were satisfactorily friendly and helpful, but have experienced a lot better.
Biggest issue hotel is situated 2/3rds up a sloping hill, which can be very arduous after sightseeing all day.
Positive is the location is up the road from main city centre roundabout where all transport including sight seeing busses can be accessed.

A very enjoyable stay in the very pleasant city of Lisbon. Our first visit and we were not disappointed.
The hotel was excellent value for money and overlooked one of the main parks in Lisbon. The staff were very friendly and the journey from the airport to the hotel wasn't to difficult by tube.
However the hotel was on the outskirts , meaning a fair bit of walking was required to reach the main attractions in the city.
Lots to see and do in the city - although if you want a chilled out holiday there were plenty of restaurants that served good wine and food.

Our room was small but very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the view from the balcony is incredible! I read that the elevator was slow, but we did not have to wait that much for it. The breakfast was good. The location is great, near the metro station Marques de Pombal, just cross the park and you are there in less than 10 min walk. The only thing we would have like is a small plastic table on the balcony.

Our experience was very good as always. Every time my wife and I go to Portugal we stay at Sana Rex. The staff is very professional but I have to say that mister Joao Grande goes out of his way to help us. Dealing with mr. Grande is like talking to a long time friend. Can't wait to go back!

The room didn't look anything like the photos. It was incredibly small, there was barely space between the bed and the other wall. The furniture was very old. The bathroom doornub was a bit busted. The aircon was on the wall opposote the bed so it was blowing directly in your face. The breakfast was ok but there wasn't much to choose from. The location was th

Out stay was generally good, but at the moment of departure we were extremely frustrated because night desk clerk did not wake us up in proper way at 5:30AM as I ask this person when came back in hotel in the previous evening. As I have seen, the clerk even made written note in the journal. For my understanding i was unbeilivable mistake of the clerk or very cruel his/her mulfunction in professional hotel business. So,we left hotel at 7:00AM instead 6:00AM, as was planned, and unfortunately we were late to our flight. Today we must arrive to Seville in Spain as yearly as possible, where we booked and paid for rental car and hotel. To continue our trip from Portugal, which we waited almost for one year, we booked yearly TAP flight. Instead to have fun and joy of our trip we became extremely nervious and must buy new two air tickets for evening TAP flight to Seville and spent more 348 euros, as we both retired persons did not plan. As the final result we arrived too late to Seville and lost our free parking for rental car.
