The photos are AI-generated and completely fabricate, nothing like the real room. The space looked entirely different from what was advertised. There were no blankets and no bedside tables, and the room had a strong smell of bleach.
Be aware of this scam; we were left without proper accommodation, and getting a refund was impossible.

The emphasis here should be on the HOSTEL in the name. For for a youth hostel it was pleasant. I had 2 twin rooms with baths. You could hear everything through the thin walls and, since it was May, with windows open (no A/C) we also heard everything in the hostel's outside courtyard bar. The staff were lovely, extra points there, but the photos on the booking site are the very nicest angles and don't reflect the overall state, which for a hostel is pretty good, but not very good for a hotel.

okay hotel

the shower didn't have a door so I you made the shower go too hard it leaked all over the floor,the bed was nice though. the door was a little hard to unlock, but there was a bar which was a nice addition. Staff were nice though, though for entertainment there was no t.v, and the toilet didn't have a button, it was just a stick that you had to painfully pushdown. Overall it wasn't that bad, but there are way better places near by.

This is an affordable option for families and individuals looking for a great location and safe accommodations in an area that is walkable to sight seeing and metro stops. We rented the family suite which was perfect for us and had just what we needed for cooking and comfort and layout. The hostel common areas are well managed and clean. There’s a lovely breakfast offered and lounge areas and the staff is very friendly and competent. Our personal apartment had some things that were not working properly (oven and fridge) and it had not been thoroughly cleaned prior to our arrival. There was some mustiness and mold evident in the kitchen and bathroom that we were able to address ourselves for a comfortable stay.

Very well located, walkable to tourists attractions. Super friendly staff, big kuddos to Joam (Juan) -very courteous, helpful & friendly. Very modern looking bathroom. Good pressure of water in the shower. Breakfast not very abundant. Recommendation to have coins available for laundry. Another set of washer/dryer would be helpful. One doesnt seem enough for such a big hostal. A/C needed. We had to sleep with the window open because it was a bit warm (May). Nonetheless, would stay there again!

Lowcost hostal diaster.

This is a low cost hostal, that is close to the airports but not easily accessible to all the tourist attractions. The rooms DO NOT look like they in the pictures, and if you travel in the summer there is no fan per room. I stayed in one of the 4 bedroom rooms, and even though it was a big room, it was extremely hot. If you are claustrophobic you should use the the stairs and not the elevator as its a ancient one that gets stuck between floors. My fiance and i were stuck for 15 min until someone showed up, who advised us to press the 6th floor button and force the doors open.

Great location and close to a lot of transport links.
Overall did not compare to the hostels I've stayed in around Europe. Not much is done to create a sense of community/ help others meet new friends. Apart from speaking to people in your own room, there wasn't much on in the actual hostel for all to join. There was a pub crawl which I didn't attend and I did the free walking tour which was organised by an external company and no one from the hostel attended.
Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Had a very noisy person in our room which meant 2 nights of hardly any sleep.

After reading the reviews on this place - and thinking about the price - I thought it was going to be more 'suite' than 'hostel'. In reality, it was just a low-end hostel.

You would think that with a check-in of 4:00 and a check out of 11:00, they would be doing a lot of cleaning. But though we were there for four nights (and had a private room), nobody came to replace towels, sheets, etc. Furthermore, the shared bathroom (which we used because our private bathroom had a sliding door that didn't fully close shut) didn't have toilet paper for three days.

The location was OK, not great. The breakfast was very basic, but passable. The room and the bed were clean, but the shared spaces didn't feel that clean. The staff were, for the most part, friendly and helpful.

So, it served its purpose, but I definitely would not stay here again for the 'not that low' price. Nor would I recommend it to anybody else.

It has a great location : just a 5 minute walk to M. de Pombal plaza where you can access buses, metro and tours. The staff (reception, cleaning, kitchen) do an amazing job. Premises are spotlessly clean. They offer an optional breakfast for only 2 euros (it’s the best deal in Lisbon). I’ve already recommended it to a friend. Would definitely return.

Clean and convenient hostel for budget travelers

It is good for budget travelers who only need a place to sleep while out all day enjoying the city. The room was spacious and clean. My only minor concern was there was only one working shower room on my floor and every time I had to use it during normal hours, it was always occupied, but guests were allowed to use the shower one floor below and I did my shower after 12 midnight when everyone was sleeping. Also, some guests were not mindful to close the elevator metal sliding door, so guests who needed to go to their rooms on the higher floors had to climb the stairs. Other than those two issues, everything about my stay was good.

We only stayed one night in Lisbon but Castilho 63 proved to be exactly what we needed. Given its excellent central location we were able to pack a lot of sightseeing into our limited time in the city. The front desk attendant was also extremely helpful and stowed our bags for us after check out while we killed time before our flight. Thanks so much for a short and sweet stay!

It’s terrible!!! This is not acceptable for any hotel!!! It’s like to have party in your room when you sleep at 11 pm! It was so loudly and noisy half of night! And person in charge just tell me that it’s ok and didn’t do anything!!! I hear everything at the terrace and toilet due to the room window to terrace and closed door from room to public toilet! I had reservation for 3 nights and Didn’t enjoy it at all

My wife and I stayed at Castilho63 for 6 nights. The bedroom was as pictured. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were much too small and thin. The bedroom window opened into a common courtyard which was often noisy into the late evenings. Music often blared through the window from below. The shared toilet and showers were down the corridor from the bedroom, and were clean and normally available. There was plenty of hot water in the showers. Only issue was the toilet paper often ran out and was not replenished until the next day. The major drawback of the overall experience was breakfast. It was a carbohydrate extravaganza (bread, cakes, cookies, muffins, and cereals) accompanied by yogurt, slices of cheese and ham, and occasionally fruit slices. Juice and coffee were provided as well. All tasted fine. However, the food and drink were placed for self-service on two small tables in a very small room. It was interesting to watch the emotions and politics as a dozen hungry patrons jostled for access to the food. Once you got your food, you sat at small picnic/camp tables with folding chairs either next to the food tables (among the jostling patrons) or outside in the common courtyard (where you hoped it wasn't raining). The overall experience could be improved ten-fold by paying greater attention to the way in which breakfast is served. One bright note is that Castilho63 is located next to an amazing Italian restaurant. We ate there several nights. Make sure to try it out!

Great place to stay, rooms were clean and comfortable. The location wasn't too far from the main attractions and sites. We easily could get where we wanted within 30 minutes of walking. Plus the metro is only a 5 minute walk down the road. There are food options nearby, as well as a supermarket. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was great, we had no idea it was included until we arrived. There was coffee, juice, bread, toast, cereal, ham, cheese, fruit, muffins, cookies etc. It was a great little spread. We will stay here again next time we visit Lisbon.

this is s basic little hotel a little bare bone...BUT.... great location and very clean. We loved walking to the city center...Plus the boys that run the hotel are awesome. They will do anything for you.. Super helpful and give great tips on dining and the sites.. Breaky was pretty good. We would stay again... Oh yes.. beside the hotel is a little café called Garage. ... really good food.

Clean, Comfortable, Well placed Budget stay

Arriving too late in Lisbon to get the train home we chose to stay at Castilho 63 and what a good choice. Its not a 5 star establishment but it is a safe clean and comfortable place to stay in the centre of Lisbon. The place was easy to find a shortish walk from the metro at Marques de Pombale. We opted for a room with private bathroom facilities and it was large with all the necessary equipment. There is a communal kitchen and large games/living room which we did not use. There is also an outdoor terrace,We did use the kitchen and it had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable so I had a good night's sleep. The next morning I opted to use the communal bathroom as this had a shower with jets. We were invitied to the breakfast room where breakfast is served between 9 and 11 am. There was a good continental breakfast which was frequently replenished. We later met Ines who is charm personified. She was very helpful and gave us a map and some suggestions for lunch even to phoning one restaurant for us to see if they were open on Easter Sunday. She printed off directions for the other choice and that was a real treat. Although we are used to more luxurious places to stay I would recommend this place if you are on a budget or if you are looking for a clean comfortable well placed stay. We will definitely make this our choice of stay when we go to Lisbon.

A happy return to Castilho 63

This was my second stay which was as good as the first. The staff were very helpful. Be prepared for the separate showers and toilets. Not en suite but they were very clean and close by. Great value.

Good value. A turn on the 19th/20th century 6 story building with lift just to the north of the old town, Separate toilets and showers but ample provision and nearby. Free breakfast. Indoor and outside patio lounge areas. Good free wifi. Italian restaurant next door. Fridge space to store food and drink. Good English spoken. Would stay again.

The room was great, the personnel were great and it has a lot of commune areas to cook and chill around. It also gives the opportunity to store your luggage before checking in and after checking out, which makes visiting the city much easier. The only problem was that the walls are very thin and you hear everything that happens everywhere. All in all it was a great experience!

Das Zimmer sah überhaupt nicht aus, wie auf den Fotos bei der Buchung. Es war sehr viel kleiner und mit sehr einfachen und zum Teil sehr abgenutzten Möbeln ausgestattet. Das Badezimmerfenster konnte nicht geöffnet werden. Durch die Lage des Zimmers direkt neben den Gemeinschaftsbädern war es fast die ganze Zeit laut. Auch um Mitternacht haben Personen geduscht oder sich die Haare geföhnt, was durch die nicht vorhandene Geräuschisolierung alles im Zimmer gehört wurde. Das Frühstuck könnte eigentlich nicht so betitelt werden. Es gab eine Sorte Brot und wahlweise 1 Sorte Käse und 1 Sorte Schinken.

Der einzige positive Aspekt war das Personal. Alle Mitarbeiter waren überaus freundlich und haben uns tolle Tipps für Aktivitäten und Restaurants gegeben!

Todos os pontos das características do anúncio tem um porém.
*Estacionamento: Muito difícil, nunca tem vaga usando parquímetro e o estacionamento pago e perto custa 25 euros a diária.
**Elevador: Cabe 1 pessoa e 2 malas, ou 2 pessoas, em 2 horas que estive lá tive que esperar 3 vezes para usar.
*Recepção: Atendimento normal, mas havia uma janela que dava para uma área aberta onde tinham várias pessoas fumando e o cheiro era bem forte.
***O quarto: Havia sido pintado recentemente e o cheiro da tinta era insuportável, sem aquecimento e a janela tinha que ficar aberta pelo cheiro.
***O banheiro: A porta não fechava e tinha um espelho em frente ao vaso e chuveiro que refletia na janela que dava para o prédio da frente.
****Resumo: Fiz reserva para 4 dias, mas não ficamos nem 3 horas e não me reembolsaram nada.
Tirando esse lugar Portugal foi muito bom, mas deixo aqui essa avaliação para que outros não passem por isso.

Péssimo local,é uma hospedagem que serve a jovens sem recursos apenas,café da manhã sofrível e regulado,não se realiza limpeza nos quartos elevador não supre a demanda,nunca mais devo ir,não é opção

Hotel com pouco confirto, sem refrigeração, num dia de extremo calor em Lisboa. A porta do quarto é para funcionar com senha que nunca funcionou a contento. Foi trocada várias vezes e sempre deu problema. O elevador e muito pequeno e mal cabia dois passageiros com 2 malas
