We always stay at Green Court Residence whenever we visit Shanghai and are always satisfied.
We choose this property for its location, complimentary washing machines and dryers at laundry room even if some types of rooms do not have washing machine.
Reception staffs are able to speak English and hotel staffs are friendly.

This was my second time when I stayed at the place August 25. This time, the apartment was boat as good as the first time. Certainly need to pay more attention on cleaning. Clearly a lot of mold on the sink in the bathroom, and many places, the sink in the kitchen, the wardrobe in the bedroom have very bad smell. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

A very good choice

We booked 2 rooms, one with twin beds and one family room. Both rooms are roomy and comfortable with all necessary facilities provided. We particularly liked the washing machine as we stayed 4 nights and were able to get our laundry done. The hotel is located in a very convenient location, close to all the famous sight seeing areas. We could walk to all of them. And if you don't like walking, the subway station is close by.

This hotel located at a very convenient location, 10 mins walk from MTR, and attractions. Hotel is a bit old but the facilities are acceptable, service is excellent, provide coffee and snacks 24/7, we really appreciate the service from the hotel staff, they are all very friendly and helpful, and professional. Washing machine in my room has a small leak into the drum, but works fine once you clear that.
Rooms are clean, well equipped but a bit dated. It was half the price of the Marriott next door, so a great choice for my 2 week stay.

Great location, and well maintained property but its getting old. They need to change the carpets and make it bright. The decor is old too but definitely worth staying. The facilities are great and the rooms are very spacious.

The problem is that the Air conditioning is centrally controlled so if the hotel decides its cold outside, the only option is heat. If you are hot, you have no other option but to turn the AC off and open the windows. The other problem is that sometimes a smoker smoking in their room may spread the smoke into your room through the vents. So, not really good if you have problems with cigarette smoke.

I think it’s overall a good property to stay. They are a bit aged but their room sizes are big. Their washing machines were of good use, they had all amenities needed for a long stay. They were also very helpful. I spoke no Mandarin but the people in the lobby could speak English mostly; and those who didn’t were also very helpful.

Overall it was a good stay.

One suggestion is that they need to install smoke detectors in rooms. If someone smokes in their room, the cigarette smoke can go through the air conditioning vents into other rooms. I stayed there for 10 days ish and towards the last few days there were days where I had to keep the AC turned off because it smelt of strong cigarettes in the room.

My one bedroom unit is very spacious. I was solo but I think it's ok for a family of 3 or even 4. 1 bedroom, 1 big living room and the kitchen area. The unit has all necessities you may need for a comfortable stay. The washer dryer worked well and was even provided with detergent. Bathroom was in old-fashioned style but updated modern amenities and high-end toilet. Nice and neat. The staff were kind and sweet. Great location, just 1 street away from a street with many dumpling stores (including 1 highly rated online). There's a small draft beer bar next door with some mean beers and the staff are fun, too. Highly recommended.

The unit we booked was a 1 bedroom executive therefore the space available for the two of us is excellent. Plus having daily housekeeping is wonderful. Gosh, what a disappointment.
When we checked in we were passed around to different people, ignored while others pushed in and eventually got checked in to a room that was substandard to the one we booked.
When we enquired as to moving rooms we were told there were none available.
We specifically booked this hotel as it had a washing machine in the room and we were tight on time with one night in Shanghai, yet there was no washing machine in the room. So we had to waste time waiting in the laundry room for washing to finish so we could collect it before leaving.

The room was much smaller than the pictures with no space, one chair at the table, even though it was booked for two people. We didn’t want to eat on the bed so had to go out, completely removing the requirement for a kitchen, again, another reason we booked here.

The only positive is the location, which is excellent.
Otherwise, the staff are chaotic, the rooms are not as described, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The property is just minutes away from Nanjing Road pedestrian mall, People’s Square subway station, and Dashijie or Great World. There are dozens of restaurants in walking distance and you can have so many choices for meals. The People’ Square station has three subway lines including Line 1, Line 2 and Line 8. At the ground level, there are at least a dozen of bus lines in the walking distance that connect you to every direction of the city. The hotel is a bit noisy considering it is at the corner of Beijing Road and Xizang Road interaction, two major avenues of downtown Shanghai. But if you ask for a room in a higher level, you won’t be bothered much of the traffic noise. The room is very clean and spacious. There is a small kitchen with a refrigerator, an cook top，and a set of cooking ware and dining ware for two people. I lived in a studio room and it didn’t have a washer and dryer combo, but I could still go down to a laundry room to do the laundry and pretty much didn’t have to wait for an empty unit. The staff were very nice and represented to the requests quickly. Overall, it is a very good place to stay in downtown Shanghai and I highly recommend it.

The reasons I didn’t give the full five stars are you can‘t control the A/C temperature in the room and it’s too warm in the bedroom. I enjoyed this place so much that I booked an additional night at the Green Court Residence on the last night of my trip. I stayed in two different rooms, and each room was relaxing and spacious. I enjoyed all the cabinet space, the kitchens in both rooms, the vanity mirror, and the overall design of the rooms. The hotel is in walking distance to the Bund and Nanjing Road, and I felt safe to walk around the area. There are also plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, and convenience stores right around the corner. I will definitely stay here again.
