Hotel was short staffed at both bar and grill. We waited an average of 15-20 min to receive food and drinks once order was placed. Some waited longer while others received preferential treatment if they tipped well or were friends with staff.
Dinner choices were limited if you ate late. Only One washer in laundry room worked. Hotel was pleasant to look at but staffing improvements are much needed.

My family visited the resort for 4 nights for my birthday. The hotel lobby is nice. The bedroom was nice. Now for the price paid, l was expecting more.

Cons: The furniture and building are showing wear. Which is surprising because they said it was recently renovated. The pool has chipped paint at the bottom. The beach is rocky and full of seaweed at the shore. However, once you get past that the water is clear and beautiful.

They had only one restaurant open for dinner. Every night the restaurant ran out of food by 7:30 pm. They do have a bar that serves food from 11 am to 10:30 pm. However, the menu is limited and has only 2 sides, French fries and onion rings. They didn’t have onion rings. Overall the food was ok. The drinks were watered down or the mix for the drinks were.
This place has seen better days.

Pros: the staff was friendly but limited. They worked their tales off.

The amenities of activities for water sports were great. The paddle boarding and kayaking ended up being a great experience.

The pool went to 8ft which was nice.

No kids was nice.

The casino was probably my favorite and l don’t gamble. They served food and drinks as well, for a price. The entertainment was good.

Overall, it was a nice stay. Relaxing and a lot of potential if they can get it together.

One other thing, rent a car. Rent a car. Rent a car!! ❤️

The only positive I can give Carina Bay was the beach location and Scott the bartender.
Its a shame they claim this is an all inclusive resort. Food options are extremely limited. Very few choices for dinner, with some of the food not being refilled without having to ask staff. They make limited desserts, so get one early before they are gone. Most of my meals were hamburgers at the pool bar. Not what I expect from an all inclusive. They had advertised an Italian restaurant on site but it was never open during our stay.
We were there for 3 days before housekeeping came to empty garbage and change towels. They are definitely not handicap accessible. The only elevator is the service elevator which takes you to the kitchen and then through the dining room to get back outside. There are not access doors if you need them, so if you are unable to get out of your wheelchair, open the door and push it across the large threshold, unfortunately you will have to wait for whoever you are with to notice you are missing and hopefully they find you.
Those of you who have service dogs, their website states no dogs. There were at least 2 dogs on the property with their owners.
The property also mentions a gift shop. Rest assure there is none. I never saw a fire pit or tennis courts. There are also not 2 pools. They have 1 large pool and a small hot tub next to it. There was only one night with entertainment which consisted of a DJ and a few fire dancers.

Clean, most staff was amazing! All rooms there have private balconies overlooking the ocean which is very close! Beds are comfy and bathroom is updated. Food was decent, pool bar food was the best and available 11am-9:30pm. Drinks and bartenders were the best, they get to know you quickly and are very personable. Front desk was able to meet all our requests, anything you need go see them. Activities directors were lots of fun! They sit out by the pool from 10-5 with tye dye, bracelet making, painting, and will play bingo or trivia upon request. Pool is decent size, very clean and refreshing. Hot tub is big and not too hot for island life, a comfortable warm, especially at night. Casino across the street was great and never busy. They have longer food hours but you have to pay for food, the drinks and pretzels are free all the time. Ocean is perfect for swimming, yes there was seaweed but they had this cool tractor that picked it up off the beach every morning. Lots of cool rocks and shells to find all the time in shore. Bring goggles and you can see the floor of the ocean and find shells in the water too. Perfect sunrises! If you want to be away from party bars and shopping central, in a tranquil paradise to just chill and relax on island time, this is the perfect resort for you! Huge plus its adults only. There are taxis constantly running from the hotel to the many island tourist attractions its just a bit of a drive (30ish mins). We stayed a week at the end if Feb ‘26.

Overall the staff was great, especially the staff at the pool bar. We had no issues with the resort. The onsite dinner restaurant food was OK but nothing exciting but for the price we did not expect a 5 star restaurant. The pool side bar served food pretty much all day and the food there was excellent. It was just bar food but everything was very good. We did not rent a car. Taxis are expensive if you want to get around but our plan was to relax and enjoy the weather so we only left the resort once. It was a very relaxing vacation. If you want a lot of things to do, probably not the best place to go but if you want to relax, book it now.

The check in went very well. The lady that helped us was very nice and courteous. Room was clean and the staff did a good job during the week when we asked them to clean it.
The staff at the pool bar was FANTASTIC, friendly and helpful could not have asked for anything better. Drinks were very and the food was excellent. The dining rooms have a lot to work on. Food was cold or slightly warm and staff not very friendly. Some of the food was so salty you could not eat it. Thursday night at 12:10 AM we were woken up to automatic gun fire. Many of the guests heard but the was no response or explanation from the Management. There was no mistaking the sound.
People were very uneasy the next day. Something should have been communicated to the guests.

I fell going down the stairs because the hand rail oddly ends before the steps do. I have sent pictures and explanation to management days ago (day we left) and have not recieved a responce.
Everything was average. The beach was definitely not the focal point. The employes were hit or miss. Extremely rude bartender 2 days! Pretty sure she was let go but still it was obvious. Place could be better with a more appealing beach presence and lounger chairs. There were several rusted.
Room was decent. There was a peice nissing from our closet door. (We didnt ask for it to be fixed) The latch on the patio door was rusted and fell off several times (we secured it back, again without reporting). And there wer these little bugs around the sink and counter above the mini fridge. I mentioned that casually to one of the managers but didnt follow up. We just didt use that area. I asked for a first floor due to my disability and there were none available but they di show mw where the service elevatoe was. I'd rather just carefully use the stairs with haidrails.

Let me start by saying our stay was LOVELY and we heavily enjoyed ourselves! The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, the rooms were clean, and the VIP/honeymoon room package was adorable!

That being said - the seaweed prevented ocean access despite the resorts very best efforts to keep it cleared. The beaches were usable and kept cleared, but the water this time of year is just infested. The do try very hard though!

The food can become monotonous after a few days so definitely plan in some off resort days. The restaurant hours are weird for 4 of the 5 locations and the main bar/grill has a limited menu so the fried foods become a bit much after a while.
But the drinks are strong and we DEF got our moneys worth there!

All in all a lovely trip that we enjoyed!

The food was pretty bad and the resort is far from everything. You have to rent a car, because the taxis cost a fortune. St. Croix is great. This resort is awful.

One Star. The advertisements claim three restaurants but there is truly only one and it’s only open mon wed fri. We arrived late Fri so we weren’t permitted to dine there without a reservation. We left on Monday so we never ate there. The second “restaurant” is an outside bar that serves drinks wings quesadillas pizza and burgers. The third “restaurant” is a buffet of American food from frozen. It’s nearly impossible to get a taxi anywhere. There are very few excursions offered. Worst of all the first five feet of the ocean floor are lined with man-made rocks nearly impossible to walk on. We will NOT be returning and do NOT recommend.

We loved that it was adults only! The view from our room on the bottom floor was amazing! The beach was beautiful but I feel like it could have been cleaned up a little bit as far as sea weed and people that left things on the beach sadly. The pool was great and the people working there were very accommodating to anything we needed. I wished that there were more dining options. The dinner we had to make reservations for was amazing but it was very limited so in the week we were there were only able to eat dinner there once because of limited reservations. I feel they should have had more options because other than that it was the buffet or bar food which was good but not amazing! I loved how they had all top shelf alcohol too! Anything you wanted! I am used to all inclusive resorts included tips but here I felt you were expected to tip each time we ordered food or drink and that got expensive. I love to tip people at the end of my trip or as I go but this was a little much. Overall the experience was pretty good.

Some of the staff was unprofessional, most where not friendly or made us feel welcomed. The food was limited, only one good restaurant with very limited hours and reservations only. The beach area was covered in seaweed and many flies, no trash cans, no sun umbrellas... the hot tub was not working for days. Garbage was not collected from the walking area and made it unsafe to trip over garbage. We will not be returning to this location, the services and the pictures posted on their website is not the same. It is a very beautiful Island I hope they improve the staff and services and the place will be very inviting. Transportion with additional fees. We are not happy with our choice for selecting this location.

Our experience was a little below average. My wife and I were celebrating our 30 year wedding anniversary and were looking to have a great experience at Divi Carina Bay resort. One of the good things about the resort and traveling in October was that the resort was fairly empty with no crowds of people. It was a let down that there was no Caribbean cuisine to eat. They have an Italian restaurant on site but we really wanted to experience Caribbean cuisine. The bar and grill did serve Jamaican jerk wings.

Our room - where do I begin. Our room had a small kitchen area and I noticed on the very first day there were small mites or some sort of bugs crawling around the cabinets and sink. I didn’t pay it much attention because you expect there to be some minor insects since you’re in the Caribbean. Each day, the small bugs started multiplying. The day before checkout, I pulled the sheets back on the bed and discovered several bugs. My wife and I were probably sleeping with these things our entire trip. I called the front desk and the dispatched housekeeping. She came to our room with some bug spray. I asked her to look at the bed and she lifted the mattress and to our surprise, there was a yellow stain at the head of the mattress with bugs on it. They, of course, changed our room. I forgot to mention, that I killed a roach in our room also. Our new room was a little better but I noticed stains on the curtains and stains on the plumbing. I would not stay there again

The property has great potential however its not giving where I would return.Since the property is a but secluded there should be daily activities and entertainments on spot for guest. Dj keeps playing the same musi, no one introduce us to any activities near by ..Come didnt see anything pointing us to a conceirge that should be giving activities etc.
Tuscany restaurant I am sorry food was horrible my to spot was the bar even though it was the same food over and over it was excellent..Kat and Racheal and the bar they were amazing If I was ever coming back it would be because of them. Edmond the night manager has great customer service and try his best , continously checking on guest etc.. Also management should consider the need guest needs, I prefer to go cups and untensils so I shouldnt be told that the hotel is no longer using plastic cups...I pay money to stay there I miss my flight I didnt get any compensation for a day lost so I should be able to get what I want...Also please consider switching up the menu...

Sea grass was out of control. Had to take a taxi to the beach. Why did we have to do that if this is beach front property. They charge for all-inclusive but the beach is covered in stink molded seaweed. Which element the water activities like swimming, scuba diving, and kayaking. Once you leave the resort which it is a must to enjoy another beach 45 minutes away. Oh and no transportation to that beach. Taxi rides start at $25 per person with other people in the cab.

Had a fantastic stay here it was such a wonderful experience and staying at an all-inclusive was so convenient and they didn't skimp on food portions or alcohol. The staff was super nice and created a great experience. They even allowed us to stay at the facilities after checkout since our flight was not until 5pm. Only real complaint is that the beach always has seaweed washed up on shore in massive piles and we didn't feel comfortable swimming in the ocean (though it is labeled as safe) because of all the seaweed on shore and floating around in the water. Luckily they have a pool with plenty of lounge chairs which was nice.

Me and my wife had come here for our honeymoon and at first we had no idea what to expect. Upon arrival to the island, we were nervous that the surrounding area may not have met our expectations but let me say, this resort and island was a perfect spot for a honeymoon. Upon first impressions one might be upset with the age of the building which at times looks a bit older but, the resort made up for it with a super friendly staff and plenty of activities to do. Whether you’re looking for a quiet getaway to relax by the pool or beach or looking for an adventurous trip both options are open to you. And if you’re unsure with what you want, the resort has a table with someone there to help answer your questions. We will come back and tell our friends and family about it.

This was a nice laid back establishment. I’m from Brooklyn and this establishment isn’t a burden and doesn’t bother you on what you do. I went there with the expectation of that due to reviews. If you want a party spot this is not it. The food is amazing so all the reviews about food lied they don’t have a large variety of food on the property but it does the job. The drinks are great depending on who makes them the establishment is very clean and they take pride in keeping their beaches clean it’s very quiet all day: the staff is amazing. Clerk did an amazing job with the paint and sip held on my birthday may 14th thank you. Rachel makes THE BEST electric lemonade. Johnothan from front desk was very helpful. I went there to rest and relax and that I did. The food was ok and the wait times by the pool could be a little long but that’s no dealbreaker. The drinks aren’t strong but unlimited and the pool area was quite the party some days. The beach had a lot of seaweed but relaxing to chill out and drink. Some of the staff was amazing like Cole, Scott, Abena and Bethany to name a few. The room was modern but you can tell it was patch work. The atmosphere was a little run down but I still enjoyed myself. Grown ups and no children is definitely the way to go. Would I go back? Probably it had its ups. The reservation only Italian restaurant was ok no complaints. I just enjoyed being in the moment honestly. Spice up the property and this place could be a paradise for adults.

The food in the Italian restaurant onsite was excellent. However, the buffet food was not great. The buffet eating area was extremely hot. There were lots of leaks when it rained. The pool area was very small as well as the beach area. The nearby casino was hot, smelly and just not very clean.All in all I give it a 2.5-3 out of 5 rating.

Our group was looking for an all inclusive on the beach, where you didn’t need a passport, was easy to get to and was on the ocean. We were more than pleasantly surprised with this property! I read all the reviews before arriving and admittedly was a little nervous prior to our arrival. The absolute highlight of this property are the people that work here! Every single one of them was happy and engaging and did all they could to meet our needs! We were on a first name basis with most of them!!
The food, the drinks the rooms - all exceeded our expectations!
The rooms were clean and well appointed. The food was fantastic at the pool bar and restaurant and from what I was told the Italian restaurant was outstanding (I was sick and had to miss that meal ( only open a few days). The coffee shop was amazing! Bloody Mary’s and Mimosas as well as deli offerings.
And the drinks were strong and plentiful with top shelf liquor and beer.
This is a small adults only property, with one pool and gathering place (the pool and pool deck), you never had to fight for a chair around the pool -occasionally around the pool bar😂
The casino across the street was great we enjoyed the dealers and pit bosses, and by the 4th night they took all their money back-but were always welcoming and engaging!
The one complaint we had was there was no air conditioning or air flow in the main restaurant. It was very hot and felt bad for the staff! The feel like temp was over 100 each day.
We Will be back!

We had a great stay at the resort. Almost all of the staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was great! The breakfast buffet was great and the dinner buffet had a different theme daily. The poolside bar had great food and drinks, too. Our room was clean and was just off the beach with amazing views. The pool was clean, cool, and refreshing. Floaties were provided poolside. Would definitely recommend renting a vehicle to check out the sites and other beaches. A trip to Buck Island is a MUST! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the facility to anyone thinking about visiting St. Croix.

So much could be done to make this a great resort. Start with having an actual restaurant with fresh food available in the evenings. The dinner buffets were horrific. Wouldn’t feed most options to my dog. Half the staff were professional, helpful and kind. The other half - rude, in no hurry to help and should just be fired immediately.

If you are looking for a large resort with impeccably kept grounds, this is not for you. I was taken back a bit at first with unusable stairways and broken steps. There were weeds outside the bottom floor rooms and the pathway lights were filled with spiderwebs. BUT….. the staff was amazing! Bethany, Kenzie, Scott, Elyssa and Alyssa and all the servers were amazing! The food was all in all pretty good. The variety was not as large as most resorts but you could definitely find something you like. The drinks were amazing and plentiful. I soon forgot about the broken stairs and cobwebs! Rooms are adequate, small bathrooms. The good news is, with beautiful weather you aren’t in the rooms much! In the 9 days we were there, a new manager came and the weeds were disappearing. He was super accommodating and checked on everyone. I’m sure my concerns are already being rectified. The people we met there were amazing! Scott and I feel we made some life long friends. The smaller resort made it more intimate and friendly. The weather was amazing, we will return!

I can only assume the property and experience would have been excellent but unfortunately, after arriving in St. Thomas I was refused the right to board Cape Air to St. Croix bc I am paralyzed and in a wheelchair. This is a clear violation of the ADA as well as the Airline passenger's rights not to mention goes against Cape Air's policy of \"not discriminating against anyone on the basis or race, gender, or medical conditions\". I am now working with Expedia to obtain a refund for the resort as it was not my fault I could not check in but the fault of Cape Air.

My wife and I stayed a week and had the opportunity to get to all four corners of the island. It was worth getting a rental car. We feel fortunate to have \"blindly\" selected Divi Carina Bay for our stay. They boast the largest Casino on St. Croix and had several activities available daily. The food was good and had some variety. Drinks were generous. There was a little bit of seaweed on the beach but they made a point of cleaning it up daily. All in all a relaxing vacation. As for the rest of the Island: Christianstead has the best daily shopping. The Boardwalk is nice w/ a lot of history at the fort at the end. The purple Papaya is the biggest souvenir shop we found and plenty of waterfront drinks and dining. Fredrickstead is where the Cruise Ships come in. Second best shopping area. A little better when there's a ship at the pier. There's also another Fort in town. I'd recommend the Ruff Night Bar for a cold one. It's a hole in the wall that doubles as a dog rescue. The pier is only accessible to the public when the cruise ships are out, but there are a lot of tide pools nearby. Other P.o.I., Point Udal? the Eastern most point in the U.S. The Rain Forest was OK and the beer drinking pigs were fun, but the roads up there are pretty rough, and that's compared to pot holes every few hundred yards for the rest of the island. I'd pass on the Lighthouse in the Northwest corner, it's basically a one story warehouse, Gecko's, Deer, Pelicans, and ferret-like Mongoose a plenty. ENJOY

Everyone there is very friendly and helpful. Our room and the resort is very clean. There really isn't shopping at the resort but that's okay you can get a taxi, uber or rent a car . It's not far to shopping and it is a beautiful trip to the boardwalk.
Food is very good and plentiful.
It was a very memorable vacation.
I loved the beautiful sunrise and sunset from my balcony. Watching the fire dancers ( although I wish it lasted longer ) and listening to the DJs was really nice. My only complaint would be I wished my trip lasted longer.
What made my trip the best was the people working there , they are so friendly and helpful, they go out of their way to make sure you have a wonderful time.

The place is awesome for a relaxing vacation. Taxis are at a hefty price, so I recommend renting a car from the get go. Otherwise the resort is gorgeous. The drinks most of the days were great and the food was decent. We are live in NY so we are used to a top notch food but this was good as well.
Overall, the place seemed pretty affordable. Are tennis court, gym, kayak, billiards, and paddle board were great amenities as well!

Don’t believe the reviews I almost canceled my trip my sister and mother Inlaw did not book because of the reviews the resort is beautiful yes it’s seaweed on the beach but they use a truck in the mornings to remove it you can go in the ocean a lil Rocky before you go further in …now for the staff Tiffany at the bar was awesome ELIN who worked the bar and the dining area looked like she was being punished working there face always balled up and if she had to speak she whispered as if she didn’t want to respond lady that made the omelettes Tuesday and Wednesday morning I was there same thing never good morning looked like her and ELIN was related and in punishment I tipped every time just to see if the mood would change nope…last two days I had a break out on my arms and legs very itchy and you DEFINITELY need a car it’s far from everything entertainment at night was cool we rented a car and was out and about go to Hamilton the food is amazing slow service but great food .my room was modern and clean I walked right out my sliding door to beach and bar pool jacuzzi room 108 is close to everything menu is the same everyday but it was good for breakfast and pool bar a few things to order but was good the Tuscany restaurant wasn’t all that too me service was slow there as well food was not good I had steak my husband had the pasta we took it out but never ate all of it .Front desk Ladie the young one was very friendly and nice older lady not so much don’t listen to the reviews

The views are awesome! The renovated rooms are very nice. Staff are nice, very helpful.
Restaurant choices are minimal. I would like more restaurants on or in walking distance. Beach is not clean, LOTS of seaweed. The grounds where the Villas are needs lots of work. Enjoyed foods at the Wave restaurant and the grill. Gym is nice. I like that it's All Adult which is why I chose this resort.

Likes....excellent staff, clean rooms with updated furniture, the bar was well stocked and bartenders were knowledgeable on mixing drinks. Not alot of choices for food, but the food was good. Dislikes......not alot of food choices, the grounds on the beachside were terrible....no landscaping at all. Sargassum and the smell (but not the resorts fault).

Bad Experience!

This resort was not what I expected or what was mentioned during my booking. It was absolutely terrible... and the odor was unbearable!! I immediately became ill. All the seaweed on the beach pilled high as a 3ft wall was closed due to the horrific smell and erosion & pollution. I've never smelled or seen anything like this before, especially at a resort. I do not recommend this place for staying.

We found out upon arrival that the beach is full of seaweed practically year round. Most of the staff was nice but some were very rude. Nothing to do in this area, you need a rental car to get to anything. It smells horrible because of all the seaweed on the beach. Food was not too good , and nothing to eat past 10pm. I would not recommend this resort.

The Good: Staff was friendly and helpful. Coastline had beautiful views. Our room was nicely updated.

The Bad: Facility was not being maintained very well. Beach was littered with trash & seaweed. Didn’t see anyone clean around the pool area. Occasionally trash would blow into pool. Some pool jets and skimmers appeared to not be functioning so anything that blew into the pool stayed there. The main restaurant was only open 3 days a week (and only for dinner). In door dinning facilities had weak or non-functioning air conditioning. Food was mediocre. Breakfast was buffet style and trays were not refilled (but it did have omelettes to order). For the price we paid this should have been a 5 star experience.
