The room was very clean but the fan in the bathroom did not work so there appeared to be mold on the vent. Housekeeping only came one time during our 5 night stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

2nd time to stay here in last 6 months. Rooms are clean, A/C and ceiling fans keep room cool. The bed is comfortable. It’s an older hotel that they are trying to update. Would/will stay there again. Also, for St Croix, the price is reasonable. Did not eat at restaurant so I can’t comment on that.

This was nothing like the photos and very disappointing. The room was moldy and dark. The safety latch on the door was broken and so was the lock. We put things in front of the door while we slept because it didn't feel safe there. There were several men wandering the property and we didn't know if they worked there or not. I opened the curtains to the patio in the morning to check the view and their was a guy sitting outside the window eating his breakfast. When we went for coffee and breakfast, the coffee machine was empty and by coffee machine I mean the Keurig at the serve yourself station at the restaurant. The breakfast was pretty bad too. The only good thing was the view but the beach was full of weeds and unusable. Stay far away. We left after the first day because it was that bad.

Staff was very nice. Coffee was hit or miss in the morning, sometimes we had coffee in the room and sometime we didn't, depended on if it was restocked by housekeeping. coffee in the restaurant was also hit or miss, one day it was ready at 6 am, the next it was 8:30a, the next not at all. Resot was built in the 60's and has not been updated in some time. construction was ongoing during our stay.

There was no breakfast scheduled. They did not offer an explanation. They hosted a prom on Saturday evening and the guests were basically ignored during the evening and morning after. The food was not appetizing!!
The rooms were clean, however, we realized that the sliding door would not lock. Maintenance came to take a look nonchalantly and left without a solution. There was no security latch on the front door as well. We packed up to leave and was offered another room. That room was freezing at 16C, and there was no way to adjust it. The internet was down most of the stay. Needless to say we clocked out around 9 o’clock instead of 11 o’clock. They were busy cleaning up from the previous night. No apology was given.

First you have to realize they had 2 hurricanes in 2017 that the island is still trying to recover from. Then you need to realize they run on island time, nothing happens quickly. Sit back and relax. Oh and they drive on the left. That one was a shocker to me.
All that being said it was a great vacation and I didn’t want to go home.

Buyer beware! This property has been portrayed as being in much better condition than it is being portrayed. Here are some Pros and Cons:
Pros: location is perfect, some of the best snorkeling, very relaxing by the water
Cons: the rooms are very outdated and in dis-repair, none of the locks were installed, the water was not drinkable from the tap, the food was tasty but plan on waiting a while for it. The local area does not seem safe.
Overall, you get what pay you for here.

Not bad rooms. Not great either. No cable so you must use your own apps which don't work properly from out of the country. They got our room wrong so we had to move the next day. The staff at the hotel do try and the cleaners are good. The restaurant is so bad that we had to go find other places to eat which was frustrating considering we booked here with plans to eat here based on reviews and their website which is misleading. There are homeless people harassing you while you eat and management don't care. They say \"it's a public beach\" but the drunks and drug addicts were falling on our table forcing us to leave. There were never any people in the restaurant which is a terrible sign. You have to wait an hour for food and they mess up simple orders. Also not friendly. Desk staff are not helpful and he office was cl9sed on chekout on a Saturday at 9:10am. Room was ok but had broken door handle and no security. We felt unsafe. Will not return.

We really enjoyed our stay in St Croix. However, I need to give my full transparent experience at The Palms. The view was my favorite part. But, you can’t enjoy the beach, it’s not an area that you can swim. There is seaweed and rocks throughout. There is a lot of construction going on and piles of wood laying around. It is far away from any kind of stores or places to eat. Be prepared to either rent a car or pay around $100/day for a taxi. The room was not cleaned daily. The garbage would be emptied, but bed not made.but, my biggest complaint would be that there were no TV channels available on the TV to watch. We had to rely on Netflix, which I suspect was someone else’s account that forgot to log out of it. Overall, we loved St Croix and the weather and view was perfect!! However, we will pick a different place to stay if we return.

The staff were very kind & helpful. The restaurant food was great but could improve their plating, speed, and availability of items (they were out of a lot). Room was huge! and bathroom was very spacious too. Microwave, fridge, and a small dining table.

Sliding glass door takes you out to your covered patio with two loungers that you can move out to the beach area if you like.

The sea was rough while I was there, so I am not sure if the area is a good place for swimming, but the sand was PINK and the water was crystal clear! Lots of beautiful beaches on the island for snorkeling and swimming, so rent a car for sure! Don't miss the Moko Jumbies performances at the on-site restaurant!

Overall, I had a beautiful stay at this property! Can't wait to return!

The young lady that cleaned our room was excellent!! The ladies at the front desk were excellent!!! The value staying here is excellent. The food, if you can get some is excellent!!! The reason I said if you can get some is because the service at the bar and restaurant is atrocious. I understand island time. But being completely ignored is unacceptable. My wife and I sat at the bar for thirty minutes while three people working there just talked to each other and never once asked if we would like a drink or something to eat. The first night we ate there it took forever to get service, drinks or food. The meal was excellent though. So we tried again and that is when we sat for 30 minutes. We left and went to a restaurant. We didn’t eat at the resort again. I would absolutely recommend staying here. Just plan on eating out.

Our accomodations surpassed my expectations. We stayed in one of the bungalows. The beds were very comfortable, the bungalow was spacious, the kitchen was well stocked with dishes, cups, silverware, etc. Every meal was excellent. The fettucine alfredo, the veggie stir fry, the onion rings were excellent. Large portions, and the wait time was not long. The drinks were generously large, and the bar prices much better than other hotels. Will definitely stay again!

The Palms is really missing any refinement. The pool dirty, shower that was pointed towards the shower curtain, beach unusable, and only one cleaning for a week. The rooms were sloppy painted and never cleaned UNDER anything. Check the vanities.

The staff was nice though. The place just needs an investor to improve it.

The best part was the chef. Outstanding food. The bartenders were great too.

While the ocean was visible from my room and the beach was right outside my door, this is apparently the “rough” sea section of the island. You can’t really do more than tread water as there are signs warning of the riptide. It also rains A LOT! Upon arriving at my hotel room, I found dirty wet towels on the floor of my shower. And while I was grateful for the onsite restaurant as taxis are impossible to get and extremely expensive and I was too afraid to drive my rental car on the left side of the road and there’s NOTHING within walking distance, the food was disgusting and if the service had been any slower, time would have moved backwards. Overall, my visit to St. Croix and this hotel in particular was awful. On top of everything, the TV in my room didn’t work and I couldn’t call the “front desk” - there was none! - because there was no phone in my room. Just a horrendous experience overall.

The room was supposed to be a king but it was a queen and a very high bed and I am very short. The lamps had one bulb that worked, they were very sticky or rusty shades were disgusting and curtains had big stains and floor needed a good cleaning after a recent paint job. Wires open and exposed on what used to be a keypad and outdoor balcony fixture. The mattress and bed frames and dresser and nightstands looked new. We had one pillow on our bed, they did rectify that quickly. The shower was good and bed new, that’s the only reason we stayed in that room. The beach view was beautiful. The management is definitely slacking or ownership. Food and drink service was a terribly long wait. Sometimes you could wait 2 hours for breakfast, and minimal guests to be served. They are doing construction there, putting a spa in but seriously the rooms and service are needed more than a spa. They cannot maintain the services they offer now, how will they manage a spa?

The place is dilapidated and falling apart. In the front bathrooms for instance, three by of the stalled are out of order. It might have been nice in days past but not now. I have a long list of broken things. Unsafe as well. Our sliding porch door had no lock. Must’ve fallen off. The safe didn’t work and they couldn’t/wouldn’t fix it. Don’t eat there or you will grow old waiting for food. I ate slow and was still done before my wife’s meal came out. Horrible. Friendly staff but that’s about it.

The staff was very nice, specially Shaminque Patricia Acevedo. The cleaning crew service was great. We got an upgrade from Ocean view to Ocean Front. We decide to stay for 5 days. This hotel is a paradise and i will say it’s probably the best hotel in the area. Great amenities, Karaoke, show and live music Sunday morning. I’d just love it. Will be back.

While the staff were polite and friendly the first room we were in was infested with roaches. The microwave, fridge, counter tops, bed all had roaches. Dirty socks on porch that were not ours, shaving blade cover in shower benc. The office was closed when we tried to call and have the room changed. When we complained the following morning we were then reassigned a room with mold on the walls, floor and behind the bed. The bed was sunk-in and very uncomfortable, the air conditioning did not work and was not fixed although we called the office and voiced our concerns to staff from the minute we were placed in unit. The TV’s did not work and when we inquired we were finally told the internet was not working. We had to avoid the unit the majority of our stay and it was so unbearable that we left a night early in complete discuss to find a place at 11 pm at night. The stay ruined my husband’s birthday stay and has made me weary of Expedias judgement on partners.

The hole place is run down, they are working on it but you have to take into consideration the Hurricanes and weather this place has seen over the years, but for the price the Beach and views are awesome! The snorkeling is awesome as well but wear shoes in the surf (sea urchins). The staff was great and very helpful. I would stay here again but remember to bring a few snacks and drinks with you because there are know stores close or in walking distance.

WiFi never worked in the room so no TV service. Told the whole building was out. For my entire five day stay. Asked twice to refill shower dispensers. Never happened. Asked twice for inside and outside bulbs to be replaced. Never happened. Beautiful location on the beach but outdated old rooms. They are big though. Saturday night show was told there’d be fire dancers. Nope. Just other traditional dancers on stilts but was looking forward to the other. $45 for the buffet and show that night is questionable bc the food was not that good. Menu items are often out of stock and I didn’t know until I’d order something. Slow service but this is typical on this island. Very friendly people but customer service and maintenance can improve.

We arrived at the hotel Friday around 4:30 and was told our room was ready. When we got to the room, the bed had not been made and the room was not ready.
They told us to wait so we went to the bar and waited over an hour for them to get us a new room. # 13
That room was okay but not clean. Hair on the floors and in the bathroom. The refrigerator door would not stay shut, which dripped puddles of water on the floor making it slippery.
We stayed in the room on Friday and Saturday night. Sunday morning I woke up and noticed some crumbs and droppings on my clothes on top of the dresser. It appeared we had a visitor in our room who ate some crackers. Did not look like mouse droppings and only ate crackers from an open package. I reported it to the hotel stuff and they said they would send maintenance up to check it out.
No one came to our room while we were there and we headed out for several hours. When we returned the door of our room was wide open. Not just unlocked, wide open.
We looked over the room to make sure our belongings were still there. And they were.
This was Super Bowl Sunday, so we went out to have dinner and watched the game. We returned to our room around halftime, expecting to watch the rest of the game. As soon as we entered the room I noticed that there were rodent droppings on the table. I then saw a brown streak, run across the room and into the bathroom. I close the door of the bathroom and we went down to find the manager.

Staff were very rude. The grounds were under construction. Got woke up at 7am every morning with banging noise. We were supposed to be in a down stairs room. Got put in an upstairs room. I fell going up the stairs the first trip. Stairs are unsafe. No blow dryer in room. Got brought one that did not work. They had to bring 3 microwaves in before we got one that worked. The rooms were not very clean. I could go on and one. Was one of the worst stays!!!
