We had an ant issue in our room. I sent a text message, cause that’s how you communicate with the front desk staff. The guy sprayed something, whatever he done. It only last a few minutes. They came back. I sent another one & I also ask to speak to a supervisor. No one never call me nor came to our room to speak to us. I went on our last night of saying. Spoke to a lady at the desk told her what had happened. She said when she came on Shift, she saw a message and asked them that they take care of it. She did say I can give you another role. I told her this is our last night I was not about to pack all that stuff up just for one night. She was the only one that tried to accommodate us so the day I got ready to check out I spoke to the lady at the front desk and I explained to her I was very upset. We had came in town for my father-in-law‘s funeral and this is not our first time staying at this place, but it was the first time we experience service like this. I still asked for a call back. it’s been two weeks since I’ve been back for my trip and no call. No email no nothing about this day.we paid too much money to be treated like this. And yes I’m was very disappointed

This place was incredible! Location was better than expected. I don’t know why they don’t inform you that there is a water taxi(small boat) that is free that is right out front of the hotel that takes you across to a private beach at water on the cay. The water taxi runs until after dark and it’s free to all King Christian guests. You get your own private little island beach and a bar and restaurant and the water taxi ride is literal 90 seconds. You can see the private island beach right in front of the hotel. If you are an athlete you could probably throw a football from st croix to there! lol Thisnpoacenisnright on the boardwalk there isn’t least 29 places to eat and drink and watch games within a 2 min walk on just the boardwalk. Out side of there we felt like the food was hit or miss. This place is 5 min drive to buccaneer GC and 25 min to carabola GC. Buccaneer is worth it to just play 9 one day and then the second 9 the next day. You can also grab lunch there while you golf which I do recommend. The best restaurant on the entire island would HAVE to be Rythyms at rainbow beach. Best taco fresh catch and drinks. The fresh wahoo fish tacos were the stand out but the mahi and wings were incredible. Don’t miss out on this place!

I had a wonderful stay in St. Croix. The hotel room was clean, spacious, and had an amazing ocean view that made every morning feel relaxing. The bed was comfortable, and the room stayed cool even during the warmer afternoons. The air conditioning went out for 1 day due to an old system when one room turns it off it shuts down all the rooms but i am not a big fan of air conditioning so I was fine. We opened the balcony door which there was a wonderful breeze that entered the room.

The staff was friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with recommendations for beaches and local restaurants. I also loved how close the hotel was to the waterfront and nearby attractions. The hotel was better than i expected and was on the boardwalk.

Overall, this was a peaceful and enjoyable experience, and I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to St. Croix.

We enjoyed our stay the hotel was very nice but there is one thing they need to address. If one room sets their thermostat to dry heat it turns off the air conditioning to the entire floor. This happened twice not a huge problem but a little annoying other than that the hotel was very comfortable clean and in a great location.

I really feel the property was nicely maintained. when it came to the customer service part, the front desk seemed very rude not inviting to the people coming into the resort. I came in very friendly excited for my trip, but the atmosphere around at the time really let me down. But the restaurant on the other hand at the resort was very welcoming and inviting.

Decor and location are excellent but the mattress was horrible it was sunk in and old I have never slept on a hotel mattress that worn it caused back pain for both me and my husband, there was a musty odor to the room that lingered and there was a open hatch near the sink that I was nervous a bug or anything could have crawled out
I would stay again because of the location and restaurants but would need to check the mattress

The room I stayed in was so tiny. I have never stayed in such a small hotel room before. There was no dresser and hardly any space to spread your things out. There was no way to block the light coming through the windows, even with the window coverings. It was noisy because the side gate was heavy and slammed when it closed, in addition to hearing everything else going on in the hotel. The staff was nice enough.

Bartenders are on 100! We had a beautiful view of the Harbor and enjoyed the free water taxi to enjoy the beach at Hotel on the Cay. Will definitely come back again

The air-conditioning situation is a major situation. It's already hot out and to come back to your room and it's stuffy and warm just doesn't cut it. There is no type of maintenance person to fix these things. Although the staff is excellent I want to be comfortable and accommodated for what I paid for.

On the Boardwalk / waterfront in Christiansted, next to the National Park Historic Site. Ideal for visiting St Croix for National Park sites. The staff were great, rooms large and quiet. Car park is not paved and in between two building. This hotel DOES NOT have elevators in the new building.

Horrible staff. They act as if they’re doing you a favor for your stay. They do not greet guest and often curse in front of and at guest. I will never return if it was the last and only resort on St. Croix. Spend your money where you’re greeted and not cursed at.

Our stay at The king Christian hotel was awesome. It was beautiful there & the staff that checked us in were kind and courteous but the staff that relieved that staff were the complete opposite. We arrived Thursday after 6 & the last and male front desk were a delight but the ones that worked the next day in the morning had horrible attitudes.

This is THE hotel to stay in in St. Croix. It is right by the ferry to the island that has Christiansted's beach facing the harbor, so it's super easy to get to the island beach. The hotel owns the ferry, so hotel goers get to ride the roughly one-minute boat ride for free. The hotel is recently renovated and gorgeous. I especially loved the pool and the peacock room, both of which are just beautiful. We stayed in one of the alleyway rooms, which are the hotel's most basic. They have a very nice layout but I was hoping for a fancier room. On the last night, the hotel kindly gave my son and I an amazing, free upgrade to one of their nicest rooms, with a private balcony overlooking all of the boats and the island, kindly facilitated by Ms. Janeta. Their cleaning staff was especially kind, especially once my friend left and I was traveling alone with my infant son. I love the hotel and St. Croix so much that I entended our stay. The bellhops carried all of our things during our three room changes. Shoutout to their bellhop Jeff. Ms. Anne on the cleaning staff was also especially kind to us. At the front desk Shanequa was very nice to us. The 3 PM check-in can be slow and feel slightly chaotic at times, but it is worth is. The hotel's restaurant, Prime Harbour, is overpriced but good. I got the surf n' turf which was the most expensive in the area but they give you an extremely generous portion of lobster. Virgin Coffee Roasters is located at the foot of the hotel and is good.

There was no water. When I mean no water, i started choking and my husband left to buy water from a bar to help fully clear my throat. They had NOTHING downstairs. The restaurant also had a homeless guy that was comfy asking for money during dinner. No security. Nice ferry to the private island and kind front desk. WILL NOT return but it was ok.

I had a wonderful stay at King Christian Hotel! The AC worked perfectly the entire time, which made coming back to the room after being out in the sun so refreshing. The location is truly prime—everything is within walking distance, and we loved taking morning strolls up and down the streets, soaking in the beauty of the area.

One of my favorite little highlights was the nearby ice cream shop—absolutely amazing! I tried the soursop flavor and it was so good, definitely a must-try. Most importantly, I felt very safe throughout my stay, which made the whole experience even more relaxing and enjoyable.

I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the island!

I would have given the hotel a five star rating except for one night when the people next door to us in room 202 played music from midnight to 5 am. I tried knocking and then I texted the front desk several times and got no response either way. I told the front desk the next morning but they weren't very responsive to my ordeal. It is what it is. Other than that, the 3 night stay was very nice.

I genuinely don’t understand how this hotel manages to stay in business. From the moment I checked in, it was clear that this place is long overdue for a complete overhaul—starting with the room bathrooms, which were an absolute disaster. Poor water pressure, inconsistent drainage, flushing that looked like they hadn’t been updated (or properly maintained) in decades made even the simplest routines frustrating.

The rooms themselves felt stuck in another era—and not in a charming, vintage way. Everything was dated, worn, and tired, giving off the impression that upkeep is the last thing on management’s priority list. It’s one thing to have an older property, but it’s another to neglect it entirely.

What truly made the experience worse, though, was the staff. Most of the cleaning and maintenance crew were not only unprofessional but outright rude and intrusive. It felt like there was zero respect for privacy, and interactions were consistently uncomfortable. We had a flooded bathroom with a poorly draining shower and the maintenance crew asked us what we did to it vs. acknowledging that the bathroom was broken from the get go. The only exception was one older, white-haired staff member who was kind, respectful, and seemed to actually care—unfortunately, they were the lone bright spot in an otherwise unpleasant stay.

Overall, this was a disappointing and frustrating experience from start to finish. I would strongly advise anyone to just go to another island!

Housekeeping went in my room on my birthday and stole my items. Brand new shoes, a brand new tripod for my phone and my credit card. Front desk said they would check the cameras but I haven’t heard anything from them since if you go here please do not get housekeeping until you leave they will rob you then act like nothing is wrong.

The room was spacious. The view was great - you could see the sea from the bed. I really liked the location - very walkable and convenient to everything. I also liked the sun deck.

But apparently, do NOT pick room 205, or ask to change if you are assigned room 205. When I mentioned the crazy loud bass and music until 2:15 a.m. Sunday morning, the front desk clerk chastised me, saying, \"Most guests ask to be away from the bar.\" Huh?! How would I ever guess that this was a thing. SO - note to future guests of the King Christian - ask NOT to get room 205 if you want to actually sleep and not leave your room in your pjs at 2:20 a.m. to ask them to turn it down

The room we had was nothing like the pictures. We got a 3rd floor walkup (!!!!) in the rear building reached through a dirt alley and multiple steps up and down. View from the sliding doors was an alley. our the front door was a dilapidated building.
Would have been nice if the front desk notified us of the many steps, 3rd floor placement, and lack of an elevator, and asked if we needed help with our bags!

Due to a flight cancellation, I extended my stay here. The experience worsened. After the 3 AM flood, I was moved to a room as an \"upgrade.\" It had two twin beds pushed together, creating an uncomfortable sleep surface. I found cigarette butts under furniture, and the towels were worn with holes. My key repeatedly failed, forcing trips to the front desk.
The only positive was one apologetic desk agent. Management remained completely unreachable throughout my ordeal and I’m still waiting for the promised refund. The inconsistency in service and room conditions are unacceptable. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a basic, functional, and respectful accommodation.

My stay at King Christian Hotel began with zero information at check-in regarding hotel amenities or the benefit of the Hotel on the Cay. The first room had a completely broken AC unit. I was moved to a second room where the AC's severe condensation created a mold-like stain on the ceiling, contradicting the \"newly upgraded\" claims. The room conditions were poor. The low point occurred at 3 AM when a burst pipe flooded the hallway. The cleanup was incredibly loud, destroying any chance of sleep. The maintenance staff's attitude was sarcastic and dismissive; when I inquired about the noise, one employee (white, long hair) was rude. By 7AM, I had no water at all. Despite multiple attempts via call and text, the hotel manager never responded to my complaints. This experience, marked by neglect and poor maintenance, was utterly unacceptable and not worth any star. This hotel is severely mismanaged. The physical property is poorly maintained, and there is a profound lack of training in basic customer service and empathy for guests. The experience was deplorable from start to finish. The few courteous staff members are undermined by a culture of indifference and a management team that is completely unreachable.

Delightful visit! Came for work, but hope to return for fun. Wonderful vibe - old school, relaxed, hip, with a scenic location, fabulous adult pool, and friendly crew. Morning breakfast options (and outstanding coffee the way [any]one likes it), outrageous ice cream, and a fun and friendly bar (not necessarily in that order:)) all within the footprint of the beautifully restored property. A great reason in and of itself to return to STX ASAP! (Tried affiliate properly Waves too… this hotelier knows what he’s doing!! All good!)

King Christian Hotel was in a perfect location to walk to nearby restaurants, shops, and activities. The view from our balcony and from the public deck was beautiful! The cleaning staff were friendly and Julanna, at the front desk, was amazing to work with to solve a small hiccup. Some front desk staff were not as welcoming. We would definitely return to King Christian and would recommend it highly to other guests! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The daily cleaning was very very late so we had to keep asking for fresh towels and then wait 2 hours for them to come. The bathroom really needs a mirror and the shower wall was too short so the floor was constantly a puddle.

We enjoyed our time there immensely. The staff were accommodating and responsive!
Ernest and Yadira and the maintenance manager were terrific to work with setting up for our event.
