It was our second time visiting. It is very quiet which is very nice of you are retreating from the hustle and bustle of life. The shops are nice all within walking distance. The staff was nice for the most part.

The room was spacious. The view was great - you could see the sea from the bed. I really liked the location - very walkable and convenient to everything. I also liked the sun deck.

But apparently, do NOT pick room 205, or ask to change if you are assigned room 205. When I mentioned the crazy loud bass and music until 2:15 a.m. Sunday morning, the front desk clerk chastised me, saying, \"Most guests ask to be away from the bar.\" Huh?! How would I ever guess that this was a thing. SO - note to future guests of the King Christian - ask NOT to get room 205 if you want to actually sleep and not leave your room in your pjs at 2:20 a.m. to ask them to turn it down

The room we had was nothing like the pictures. We got a 3rd floor walkup (!!!!) in the rear building reached through a dirt alley and multiple steps up and down. View from the sliding doors was an alley. our the front door was a dilapidated building.
Would have been nice if the front desk notified us of the many steps, 3rd floor placement, and lack of an elevator, and asked if we needed help with our bags!

Due to a flight cancellation, I extended my stay here. The experience worsened. After the 3 AM flood, I was moved to a room as an \"upgrade.\" It had two twin beds pushed together, creating an uncomfortable sleep surface. I found cigarette butts under furniture, and the towels were worn with holes. My key repeatedly failed, forcing trips to the front desk.
The only positive was one apologetic desk agent. Management remained completely unreachable throughout my ordeal and I’m still waiting for the promised refund. The inconsistency in service and room conditions are unacceptable. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a basic, functional, and respectful accommodation.

My stay at King Christian Hotel began with zero information at check-in regarding hotel amenities or the benefit of the Hotel on the Cay. The first room had a completely broken AC unit. I was moved to a second room where the AC's severe condensation created a mold-like stain on the ceiling, contradicting the \"newly upgraded\" claims. The room conditions were poor. The low point occurred at 3 AM when a burst pipe flooded the hallway. The cleanup was incredibly loud, destroying any chance of sleep. The maintenance staff's attitude was sarcastic and dismissive; when I inquired about the noise, one employee (white, long hair) was rude. By 7AM, I had no water at all. Despite multiple attempts via call and text, the hotel manager never responded to my complaints. This experience, marked by neglect and poor maintenance, was utterly unacceptable and not worth any star. This hotel is severely mismanaged. The physical property is poorly maintained, and there is a profound lack of training in basic customer service and empathy for guests. The experience was deplorable from start to finish. The few courteous staff members are undermined by a culture of indifference and a management team that is completely unreachable.

Delightful visit! Came for work, but hope to return for fun. Wonderful vibe - old school, relaxed, hip, with a scenic location, fabulous adult pool, and friendly crew. Morning breakfast options (and outstanding coffee the way [any]one likes it), outrageous ice cream, and a fun and friendly bar (not necessarily in that order:)) all within the footprint of the beautifully restored property. A great reason in and of itself to return to STX ASAP! (Tried affiliate properly Waves too… this hotelier knows what he’s doing!! All good!)

King Christian Hotel was in a perfect location to walk to nearby restaurants, shops, and activities. The view from our balcony and from the public deck was beautiful! The cleaning staff were friendly and Julanna, at the front desk, was amazing to work with to solve a small hiccup. Some front desk staff were not as welcoming. We would definitely return to King Christian and would recommend it highly to other guests! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The daily cleaning was very very late so we had to keep asking for fresh towels and then wait 2 hours for them to come. The bathroom really needs a mirror and the shower wall was too short so the floor was constantly a puddle.

The room was a nice size and very clean but a very basic room with no real amenities. I didn't care for having to go up and down the stairs to get to the room. The check in staff did not come off as friendly or welcoming. This hotel sits on the boardwalk which is mainly dedicated for tourism. There is plenty of food options, bars, and shopping here. You can take the ferry and go across to the beach for free if you're a guest. It was a relaxing stay and I felt safe but I probably wouldn't stay here again.

Older property in a historic area but nice, clean, comfortable, on the boardwalk walk and walking distance from restaurant and bars. Its also righr in from of the water front ocean overlooking the ocean and there's a beach accross on hotel cay which also has a resturant and bar. You will need to take the boat taxi, a 2 minute ride. I would recommend this area and hotel. Staff was prompt and attentive.

This is a beautiful property. The grounds are immaculate and the staff were very friendly. This is our second time staying in this hotel. We love the convenience to restaurants and shops. The elevator was not working when we arrived, and our room was on the third floor. This caused us some anxiety because we are mature individuals. I’ve had two knee replacements so the elevator not working presented a challenge for me.

So I love the room and I love the property. The only thing I have to complain about was the resort fees that they did not disclose to me and I asked them. Would they be any additional fees a week before my trip? They said no then as I was checking in, I asked them would there be any additional fees or resort fees and they said no that it was only gonna be $125 for parking After I checked out they charge my car $325 unexpectedly and did not disclose this information beforehand when I ask them twice

We recently spent 7 days at the King Christian Hotel and had a truly fantastic experience. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the cleanliness of the hotel and the friendly, attentive service from the staff. Every corner of the property was well maintained, and it was clear that a lot of care goes into making guests feel welcome. One of the highlights was the location, being right on the boardwalk made it easy to enjoy morning strolls by the water and take in the beautiful views. There were also plenty of great food spots and shops just steps away, which made exploring the area super convenient and fun.

The hotel itself had a relaxed, inviting vibe and provided everything we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The only minor downside was the size of the parking lot, it was a bit tight and could be challenging at times, especially during busier hours. Overall, though, our experience at King Christian Hotel was exceptional, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!

The breakfast spot on the first floor, Caroline's was amazing... and the coffee spot. VI Coffee Roasters on the corner of the building was really exceptionally good! Had a great stay at the King Christian in large part due to their renovations and upgrades and also just the GREAT staff!

I love this hotel! The location right on the boardwalk in Christiansted harbor, the pool, the staff, the restaurants and bars on site, and the room decor were fantastic. I was not in the main part of the hotel but was instead in an annex that used to be a different hotel. I didn’t realize this until check-in, and it might have bothered me if I didn’t know the town and feel comfortable walking half a block away by myself, but in my case it didn’t matter. It would have been really bad if I was handicapped though, because the annex has no elevator. The room I got had a problem with the toilet not flushing properly, so I was moved to a different room that was just as nice. This was a slight inconvenience, but not a huge deal. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends.
