Unfortunately this property had the sargassum working against it, while we were there. We were looking forward to beach front property but the seaweed was bad.
However the staff did give us warning and offered to shuttle us to other beaches. I think if we visited at a different time of year it was have been wonderful.
The food was good, drinks were delicious and bartenders were AMAZING! The pool was clean and the perfect temp!
The room was not as advertised, but it was decent with a great AC and balcony. We did 3 stars because on the last night we found used hair ties under our pillows that were definitely not ours.

Property has such potential but unfortunately is not well maintained. Doors don’t shut/lock, everything was dirty & old, almost nothing was working or staffed properly to meet the bare minimum (espresso machines down, all events cancelled, menu was extremely limited, etc). The casino staff was moody. The seaweed was not manicured off the beach & stank as well as tarnished jewelry from the gasses it was putting off. For what this resort charges, this is highly unacceptable and very disappointing.

First of all, the staff was amazing even though some of them admitted they didn’t wanna be there however, this is a 27-year-old property that was renovated in 2022 and it looks like it poor craftsmanship rust everywhere from these salt air, high moisture in the rooms over 70%. Dehumidifiers run constantly and the moisture capture buckets fill up in 8 hours. Unfortunately caught the wrong time of the year with severe seaweed issues. The entire property smelled like sewage all day long Food is just OK. Only one day on Sunday of Saint Croix traditional food all in all I would get this property of 4. I don’t think I would stay if it were free. List of issues I encountered .

1. Was not greeted upon arrival
2. Golf cart was broken to go to fitness center - pickle ball -
3. No hot water
4. Short staffed - the servers we did have were super friendly and needed help to do their job.
5. Sargassum was TERRIBLE. Smell took over place . I understand the sargassum in the sea so that’s just this time of year / part of life right now in the Caribbean and all over the world.
6. Checked out 19 hours after arriving and moved to another place in town( Buccaneer) and absolutely love it here in ST. Croix.

My family did not get to attend our trip due to flight issues, not the fault of the resort. However, I have spent a week trying to get a hold of them between Expedia support and calling directly to get a refund. They simply refuse to address the issue and have been holding thousands of dollars hostage despite acknowledging we never checked in nor were we there. It should have been as simple as “we’re sorry you had travel issues, we will refund you through Expedia”

No comments on facility or amenities since we never actually got to see them.

This was falsely advertised by Expedia. No beach access. Only 1 available restaurant. Food was horrible. Staff was angry and mean to most guests. Room was only cleaned twice all week. No activities as advertised. No lobby bar. No gym. Smelled like rotten eggs and dead fish. And no transportation all taxis and very highly priced to go anywhere.

The room was certainly clean but I noticed the door on one side had rust to the point it was easy to open. Unfortunately, I came at a time the seaweed was bad and the air was pretty eggy, at no fault to the resort, nature is nature. Everyone was definitely friendly and accommodating. I wish there were more activities or excursions, but the resort is far from the beaten path. It was noticeable at times the \"island\" shortness, meaning not everything on the menu was always available. Lastly the room was remodeled and it was noticeable, things like the bathroom door still had the plastic protector laminate hardly removed, door ones not centered..painters tape, etc.
Now is this place 5 star, not really, but its definitely suited for those looking to disconnect ( although most guests were eyeballs deep on social media rather than enjoying the time), the alcohol flows freely as does the water, the sun is exceptional, and the weather was on point. Perfect for the alcohol fueled getaway some folks need or want.

Unfortunately, we were let down by Carina Bay Resort. First off, there was trash all over the property, front to back. So much so, my husband went and picked trash off the beach one evening. There are only 2 options as far as meals go, and the food was just ok. You can get food at the poolside bar after 11am, and the buffet is only open for breakfast and dinner. The lobby bar wasn't open, and the snacks in the \"coffee shop\" are premade muffins and cookies. When we were there, the espresso machine wasn't working either. Then to top things off, most of the staff acted like they would rather be anywhere other than there. No smiles, sometimes even being completely ignored. We do want to commend Louisa and Scott for being awesome. They were very attentive and nice. So, all in all, our stay at this \"resort\" was extremely disappointing. In one review someone said that if you've ever been to another all-inclusive resort, you will be very dissatisfied with Carina Bay. They were completely right.

This experience was NOTHING as it was advertised. To begin with while the site mentioned a natural occurring seaweed, the degree of this situation was over looked. The odor from heat baked dead seaweed can we compared to a rancid tuna fish can. It impacted EVERY portion of the stay. You could NOT use the beach at all, you couldnt really use the ocean view portion of the room do to the odor. There was trash piled in the seaweed as well [trash of things the resort served] not just random sea debris. There is 1 restaurant and it is buffet style that only gets filled at the beginning of the meal time. Running out of things is 100% expected, but to offer salads to order an says \"you ok if its only lettuce \". The grounds are over grown with no maintenance. Giant bags of linens and trash can be seen on the front portion of the resort daily for hours. Staff walks the halls, past piles of dishes and trash that guests set outside. When booking a resort, I expected small attention to detail special nice to do, there was just bare minimum in all experiences. The beach they take you to because there's is not able to be used was junk :/ casino was old an ratchet. Actually made you feel more like a bother then welcome paying guest. Truly the tipping point was return to the room after being at the beach and our room been left open, with the dead bolt engaged so the door could not close alllll day while we were gone. Maybe 20% of whats listed as amenities were actually very disappointed

If you traveled outside the U.S. to all inclusive resorts, this will not feel all inclusive. I came out of pocket to generally get around to one excursion and to and from the airport more than the cost of my stay. There are not really a whole lot of activities at the resort and it can still use quite a bit of development. No smoking signs were posted, not particularly enforced. One night they ran out of food.

Pros:
Friendly staff.
Clean rooms.
Good food.
Free shuttle to cleaner beach.

Cons:
Cost of taxis.
Far proximity to a lot of excursions.
Seaweed accumulates on shore.
Food access closes fairly early (10pm)
No gift/souvenir shop.

Had a very poor experience traveling as a group of 8. While we understand some things are outside the resort’s control, overall this was one of the most disappointing all-inclusive experiences we’ve had. The food was below average, and many items we ordered were either unavailable by 9 AM or equipment/services were broken.

The beach was unfortunately not accessible due to excessive seaweed, which we understand is not entirely the resort’s fault. However, the beach was not maintained or cleaned, and the buildup of seaweed created a very unpleasant odor that was noticeable immediately upon arriving at the resort.

The biggest disappointment was the lack of customer service. Aside from one staff member, the majority of interactions felt unwelcoming and unhelpful. Customer service can make or break a vacation experience, and unfortunately this resort fell very short. We left feeling frustrated and disappointed and would not return.

The staff was great & welcoming. Loved that every room has a beach view. The gym was great. Also loved the remote location, nothing within walking distance except for the casino, gym, tennis courts, and mini golf. The only down side was the abundance of seaweed on the beach, inches deep, which was never cleaned. The smell was so bad that it gave me a H/A at night. With no beach availability, by 3pm the hot tube was filthy from falling debris & sand.

This is my second time to Carina Bay. I really enjoy the resort, the rooms are a great size and were very clean. The only issues I had were with the main cheg, he had a bad attitude and was not serving food hot or good. The other chef she was amazing! The main transportation guy that the resort uses is very rude! I ended up finding outside transportation to use just so I wouldn't have to use him! Also, they need to keep track of their room mechanisms. The one to my room died and I was locked out of my room and they had to move me to another room. Other than that the rest of the staff was great, and the drinks were great as well.

Carina Bay was lovely. If you’re looking for a place to relax and enjoy, Carina Bay is it. The all inclusive resort served good food. If you don’t eat pork, breakfast will disappoint you. I went during the spring/summer months. The seaweed smelled awful. It almost ruined the entire experience. Winter months are better for staying at the resort because they don’t have winter and there is no seaweed.

Property is definitely dated, but they have put some work into soft renovating the rooms. Biggest let down was the food. Breakfast was fine, but lunch and dinner was really poor. Most things were overcooked, dry and bland. We also had an issue the first night with the AC unit not working, but that got fixed.

The best thing about this \"resort\" is the bar staff. They were great and made food that was good.
The room was comparable to a Motel 6. There was one restaurant and it was mediocre at best. A couple of nights, the food was edible while the remaining evenings, we just ate salads. The same restaurant does breakfast too and it was OK for breakfast. The girl at the front desk was rude and 2 members of our party of 10 were on the other end of the property. Apparently there was a room to move us to with the rest of the group, but the front desk didn't let us know.
The beach was average. The activity staff was available to help with kayaks, snorkels, or putt putt equipment. The pool was really clean and the only hot tub was hot, then cold as there were apparently issues with temperature control.
Overall, your trip is what you make it, so we enjoyed ourselves.

3rd time visiting and I can't wait to go back. The staff really make you feel welcome here. I don't mind the Italian restaurant is closed, I preferred the food at the buffet. The people working the breakfast and dinner shifts are the best! Carla, Devenica and more who I'm sorry I didn't get your names! Dinner was always so good. In the mornings I was always greeted with a \"good morning\" & bacon, eggs, fruits & more. The coffee shop next door always made my coffee perfectly in the morning! Mickey at the bar also made great lunch and Gregory, Albena (sp?) and Scott were always working hard to get everyone their drinks. Would probably be a good idea for bartenders to stop taking food orders so the cooks can catch up. Thank you to the cook who came in on their day off to make sure we all got a hot lunch! CB does have paddle boards and kayaks, I highly recommend getting out to see the reef. I've never been on a kayak and I can't swim, although I wanted to get out to see the reef and be surrounded by the Caribbean ocean, and Lalo made this happen! This was the highlight of my stay this time. I know Lalo was only doing his job, but this simple act left me with a wonderful memory!
Do not underestimate the Caribbean sun! Bring water shoes. Have slippers for your room and a pair for the deck. CB is located on the far eastern end of St Croix, looking south into the Caribbean. If you don't want to be isolated please rent a car or be ready to pay for taxis.

The property is run down. The breakfast selection was poor and the food was mediocre, nothing special. The staff was rude and not helpful in any way. The restaurants at the resort closed early and only had one cook so would get backed up and not take orders. We didn’t eat most days. They didn’t offer shuttles anywhere and we were told to take taxis for things as small as toothpaste. We didn’t have a phone in our room and room service was not available. The ac broke on day 3 and we placed the DND sign on the door and housekeeping still went inside our room and some of our valuables came up missing. The front desk didn’t know anything we asked and even when I pressed for information I was directed to look online for answers. Some of the staff allowed people they knew to bring guests in. One woman brought a group of special needs clients that she was watching for work. So the vibe of the resort shifted to more of an adult daycare facility. Also there is no water sports, only 4 kayaks. I could go on and on. This was a complete disaster. I would not recommend and will not be returning.

When we arrived, we were very disappointed as the main restaurant listed was closed. However, we quickly met the staff who were amazing. If it was not for the staff, the vacation would not have gone so well. The breakfast and food at the outdoor bar was very good. The dinner buffet was not good. The entertainment listed was a no show or not accurate. We had a jeep so could leave. Again the rooms were clean and the price was reasonable except for the inaccuracy of the description.

I chose this hotel to stay at during my stay in St. Croix and was kind of disappointed and wondering why most of the reviews were positive and missing information I’d love to have read when choosing my stay.
First off my hotel room was great, the inside of my room was very clean and spacious. The room was renovated and up to date, and had amenities which I loved.
The staff was nice over all.
I did not love the beach at this hotel. It was full of seaweed and the water looked brown almost. I stayed for a week and didn’t see one person in the water ever.
The hotel was quite boring over all so if you are looking for a fun setting, this is not the hotel for you. If you need a very laid back and mean very then maybe this is the place for you.
The most annoying part of entire stay was the wifi/cell service, it was not good most of the time and I could not get any calls or internet service at some points.
The food was OK but was lacking seasoning and there weren’t a lot of options at the restaurant but the snack bar was not bad.
Lastly the location is quite away from everything else so be sure to rent a jeep to get around as taxis can be expensive. It’s also great to explore the island with which is a must when visiting St. Croix.

This place is deceiving and the pictures make it into something it is not. It was all inclusive but that was just drinks and food. Breakfast and most of the food was always great but only if you come in the beginning when it is first put out. Come during the last hour and it is picked over and nothing else is put out and what is left is all there is. The resort or rather hotel because you have to have activities for a resort and at least a gift shop. There is absolutely nothing at this place and you have to make 3 hour reservation for a taxi tongo anywhere. The casino is a joke and only a block walk away but it is up a steep hill and after drinking not fun. I wouldn't ever stay here again and the island itself doesn't have much to offer. We should have gone to St. Thomas. Very disappointed with this trip. They have no watersports and you are trapped at the resort that has no souvenirs... they have nothing but free food and free bottom shelf bar. If you want hideout and not be seen and escape the world this is place because phone and internet is not the best either. If you do go there rent a car and I hope you know how to drive because they drive on the left and the speed limit the way people drive is just a suggestion and watch those potholes because they will take your vehicle out. Seriously don\"t waste your money unless all you want is a nice view and to sit in your hotel room because you can literally do that on any nice beach anywhere!

The pictures of this place are deceiving and the Casino is and a nice uphill walk that when you been drinking all day is horrible. There are no elevators in the hotel and if you would like to go somewhere once you figure out this place sucks you need to make a taxi reservation 3 hours in advanced and charge person not the entire party destination. The food is decent to down right outstanding some days and liquor is less than top shelf like no Patron but other brands plus the Island is pushjng Cruzan Rum. St. Thomas is the real place to go. I suggest gettimg a car if you are a real driver and can deal with driving on the left. Otherwise do not attempt to drive the roads poorly maintained and huge potholes and dangerous and winding roads that only people who can drive should be operating a vehicle. Also, people there have a problem communicating and directly answering questions. For instance when asking car agent why they where offering tire insurance, she never mentioned as I found out later they got crazy pothiles that will take a car out .

It was the worst all inclusive resort we’ve ever stayed at. The staff at the front desk was absolutely not helpful whatsoever!! It was almost like we were bothering them to ask for toilet paper, clean towels, etc., as our room was not serviced for days, leaving us with no toilet paper, clean towels or tissues. Front desk advised housekeeping was done for the day! Room was nice and big, but we had tiny little ants all over the place and couldn’t even enjoy it. Ran out of coffee in the room, saw housekeeping in the hallway and asked for some, she advised resort had run out of coffee for the coffee machines in the room and that there would be none for a few days. Website stated that there were 3 eating facilities, Italian, beach bar grill and buffet. Italian was closed permanently. Buffet was disgusting. One night it was tacos and nothing else. It is supposed to be open from 6-9, however if we went to dinner at 8 there was nothing left and when someone asked, the staff said “ well we close at 9”! The beach bar grill was ok, but just fast foods and very few items on the menu and we got sick of eating the same things for 7 days. The pool was filthy and there were little bugs swimming on the bottom of the pool. Hot tub was a COLD tub. The beach was very rocky, to the point you couldn’t go in it without hurting yourself and there was a ton of seaweed, which needed to be cleaned off the beach. Bartenders, Greg, Bethany, Luisa were awesome. Shout out for a job well done to Lalo!!!

The room was beautiful & extremely clean & the view was even better. Day 3 we noticed the staff didn’t seem super thrilled to be working/serving us. The staff at the bar outside by the pool and the girl in the cafe were excellent, however staff at the desk and in the restaurant weren’t too friendly. We also noticed day 3, they had told us they were expecting like 178 people at the resort and we definitely felt that because they ran out of food at dinner and for breakfast/lunch. Paying for all inclusive it was a real bummer. I also paid for a protection plan for my stay and when my flight got cancelled, they refused to refund me for the night we lost and then didn’t have space to accumulate us to extend our stay. Super bummed out all around, thank God the beauty outside outweighed all of this or our trip would have been ruined.

We had a very nice time. Located on a beautiful beach and has a very nice pool, anda hot tub. With a pool /beachside bar. It is a smaller place than most people I think imagine for an all inclusive, but it is a small island. And I found it charming, relaxing and absolutely perfect for us. Gregory makes the best pina coladas ever lol. And every single staff member was super friendly and accommodating. I like that they have a little coffee shop with some sweet treats where you can get a latte, cappuccino, or just a regular old coffee. There are pedalboards and kayaks you can take out in the ocean, which was super fun. As well as a little miniature Golf course, shuffleboard, giant Chess
And a casino. Plenty of loungers on the beach and by the pool. Every room has an ocean view patio with chairs. Waking up to see the sunsrise right from my room everyday was amazing. Most of the food at the buffet was pretty good.Some of it was great. All the bar food was yummy. I would definitely recommend getting a rental car if you can. We spent a lot of time at the resort, but we also spent a lot of time driving around to some of the beaches and shops. There is no public transportation and cabs are kind of expensive. But if you can't get one honestly, it is not a bad place to just hang out and not leave. I would definitely revisit.

The resort is short staffed and it was extremely difficult to get beach towels or anything from the activity center as they did not have any clean towels available or no one was staffed.
The food was average and the beach was not very nice.
The rooms were clean and nice except the floors made popping noises as you walked across them as it was laminate wood tiles snapped in place feather than having it glued down or tacked down.

ok so this my experience with this whole trip. Getting to the island and getting off the place on the tarmac was kind of different but followed up by the fact that it gave me 3rd world country vibes. Now to this All-Inclusive deal that was not cheap it's a like a trap to get you to come. These are the thing that they say are included that were not, Tuscany Ristorante Italiano, Entertainment, Concierge Service, Island Tours, it says 2 hot tubs and 2 pools there was only 1 of each, and the beach was pretty dirty. The staff didn't seem very helpful, and it was like I was bothering them anytime I had a question. The food really wasn't good also they said snacks and drinks are included I never seen them. I literally had to get a taxi to the store for drinks and snacks that costed $30 per person for one way than another $30 to get back. Not to mention the resort is the farthest thing away from anything 30-35mins anyway from everything. The casino was a sad place with maybe 100 slots and 2 tables plus they close at 1am. So, if you like to stay in your room and do nothing but drinking liquor these is the place for you. But if you like doing things and exploring this is not a good spot. overall, this was a disappointing trip

The Carina hotel and all inclusive, it had a casino not the biggest but enough to sustain the urge to go. Staff were very polite and respectful. The bar and grill bartenders were a great help when choosing drinks, the food was pretty good also.
I would say to rent a jeep so you can get arou d and explore as taxi can get expensive and not to dew are around.

We met amazing people. The location was secluded and wonderful. Clean and functional. If we needed something all we had to do was ask. Would 10/10 recommend.

Room was right on the ocean. Nobody was swimming on their beach because of seaweed. Main Italian restaurant was closed. They are understaffed. Buffet dinner was mediocre. The bartenders were great and the bar food was very good. The room looked brand new. Only half of the staff were friendly and smiled. (Beware of driving on the island - no shoulders, can’t see around corners because of vegetation.)

The one restaurant that was supposed to à la carte served a buffet all but one night. Buffet was (no joke) 5 kinds of pasta dishes and basic salad. Staff was great, the facility was nice and comfortable. Only issues we had was the restaurant/food/drink situation. Buffet was the only restaurant open all week. Their other restaurant was not open at all. Only option for lunch was the poolside bar. Had to wait over an hour sometimes for food with only one or two cooks for the resort. Drinks were good and staff did what they could. Asked for a glass of wine at dinner and was told no…...Had to go to the bar and get any alcoholic drinks yourself. Quite a few mornings there wasn’t much left on the breakfast buffet. When you go to an all inclusive for all you can eat/drink……..it’s disheartening when you show up and it is nothing like what was depicted on the website. Not worth the money spent. We spent way more time off of the resort unfortunately.

Bethany was by far the friendliest and most helpful employee we encountered during our stay. She truly made a positive impression. The view of the ocean from our room was absolutely wonderful, and the beach itself was clean and well maintained.
Unfortunately, we experienced several issues that made our stay disappointing—especially for an all-inclusive resort. The main restaurant was never open during our entire visit. We were able to eat at the buffet for breakfast and dinner when it was available, which still felt limited and if you missed the buffet window you were SOL. One day, after being out on excursions, we returned to the resort to find zero food options available. Room service was not offered, and the oceanside bar had closed its kitchen due to staffing issues. Since the resort is fairly remote, ordering outside food wasn’t practical.
After a full day of snorkeling and kayaking, we were understandably starving and ended up purchasing food from the casino. While the casino had its own issues, by that point we weren’t surprised given how things were operating at the resort.
Additionally, our room was not very clean upon arrival, which added to the frustration.
Overall, while the ocean views and a few staff members like Bethany were highlights, the lack of reliable food options and cleanliness issues made this stay fall far short of what we expect from an all-inclusive experience.

For already paying for that service and to only have the cheap buffet and a selection of 6 different kinds of bar food, disappointment is an understatement. Complete waste of money. The room was clean. We received clean towels daily and the food was good. I would have given it 5 stars and the reason I didn’t was there was supposed to be an Italian restaurant open, if you forgot a personal care item or wanted a snack it wasn’t available. No extra amenities other than the Waves restaurant which was buffet style and the Beach house that served pub food and drinks. The food was good. You really need a car or you can use the hotel shuttle because the place is secluded. We had a good time.

I enjoyed the property itself — the lobby is beautiful, the rooms are clean with private beachfront balconies, and the food and drinks (when available) were good. Some staff members, especially the chef, truly went out of their way to make things work with what they had, and I really appreciated their effort. It’s clear the team is doing their best despite limited resources.

However, there’s a lot of room for improvement. The resort appears severely understaffed, which impacts service, dining access, and overall experience. Long walks to rooms, broken beach chairs, limited food hours, menu items running out early, and long wait times at the bar were ongoing issues. For an all-inclusive, having restricted dining options and no consistent food availability throughout the day was disappointing. Internet and phone service were also unreliable, making remote work impossible.

Overall, it’s a beautiful property with strong potential, but it doesn’t currently deliver a true all-inclusive experience. With better staffing and improved consistency, it could be elevated significantly. As it stands, I’d rate it 2.9 out of 5 stars.

Spacious and clean, the basic oceanfront room offers a ringside seat to the lapping waves and warm breezes. The room is big with economy-level outfitting and is perfect for use as a jumping off point to explore the rest of St. Croix using a rental car. Renting a car is a MUST because the label \"all-inclusive resort\" is an underwhelming reality. Plan on eating out at local eateries as resort has a single breakfast buffet, a single poolside bar/grill, and a single evening dining option. Sunbathing on the beach, swimming in the single pool, kayaking and snorkeling are the extent of resort amenities. Using this as a beachfront hotel room with some \"bonus perks\" is better than expecting an all inclusive resort. Stay here. Rent a car. Make your own adventures. Don't rely on Divi Carina Bay Boutique to serve up your adventures.

Not what an “all inclusive resort” normally is when you don’t have any type of room service whatsoever ever. You shut down all food at 945pm and all drinks at 1030. So after basically 11pm you have no access to ANYTHING except the bottles of water in your room as the “resort” is 30 plus mins away from anything else. Oh and you can’t find a ride either for that matter. Staff members are very rude. I did enjoy Liz, Greg, Louisa, Scott, and the young lady that only works on Saturday and Sunday I cannot remember her name. Only good thing about the “resort”

Most of your staff is great. Housekeeping needs to be improved. We got our room missed one day, and our coffee, soda, cups were not replaced daily. My son's room never had the soda, club soda or robes. and we paid the same for our rooms.
