We read some pretty bad reviews. I have no idea what they were talking about. We loved the staff, the food was great, the bartenders went out of their way to give you a fun and engaging experience. We met amazing people. The location was secluded and wonderful. Clean and functional. If we needed something all we had to do was ask. Would 10/10 recommend.

Ocean view, seaweed kept us from snorkeling. A lot of staff don't smile which was weird i thought. Food was great. Shout out to Johnna Willi, best chicken soup i have ever had in my life !! Thanks Johnna. Wish the hot tub was hotter. Most of bar staff are great !

Room was right on the ocean. Nobody was swimming on their beach because of seaweed. Main Italian restaurant was closed. They are understaffed. Buffet dinner was mediocre. The bartenders were great and the bar food was very good. The room looked brand new. Only half of the staff were friendly and smiled. (Beware of driving on the island - no shoulders, can’t see around corners because of vegetation.)

The one restaurant that was supposed to à la carte served a buffet all but one night. Buffet was (no joke) 5 kinds of pasta dishes and basic salad. Staff acted as if I was interrupting them anytime I asked for something. They had no clean towels for 3 of 4 days. Bar staff was nice and bar was only decent food.

Staff was great, the facility was nice and comfortable. Only issues we had was the restaurant/food/drink situation. Buffet was the only restaurant open all week. Their other restaurant was not open at all. Only option for lunch was the poolside bar. Had to wait over an hour sometimes for food with only one or two cooks for the resort. Drinks were good and staff did what they could. Asked for a glass of wine at dinner and was told no…...Had to go to the bar and get any alcoholic drinks yourself. Quite a few mornings there wasn’t much left on the breakfast buffet. When you go to an all inclusive for all you can eat/drink……..it’s disheartening when you show up and it is nothing like what was depicted on the website. Not worth the money spent. We spent way more time off of the resort unfortunately.

Bethany was by far the friendliest and most helpful employee we encountered during our stay. She truly made a positive impression. The view of the ocean from our room was absolutely wonderful, and the beach itself was clean and well maintained.
Unfortunately, we experienced several issues that made our stay disappointing—especially for an all-inclusive resort. The main restaurant was never open during our entire visit. We were able to eat at the buffet for breakfast and dinner when it was available, which still felt limited and if you missed the buffet window you were SOL. One day, after being out on excursions, we returned to the resort to find zero food options available. Room service was not offered, and the oceanside bar had closed its kitchen due to staffing issues. Since the resort is fairly remote, ordering outside food wasn’t practical.
After a full day of snorkeling and kayaking, we were understandably starving and ended up purchasing food from the casino. While the casino had its own issues, by that point we weren’t surprised given how things were operating at the resort.
Additionally, our room was not very clean upon arrival, which added to the frustration.
Overall, while the ocean views and a few staff members like Bethany were highlights, the lack of reliable food options and cleanliness issues made this stay fall far short of what we expect from an all-inclusive experience.

The restaurant was not open ONCE in the 4 days I was there. For already paying for that service and to only have the cheap buffet and a selection of 6 different kinds of bar food, disappointment is an understatement. Complete waste of money. We had to pay for a taxi to go into town if we wanted something other than bar food. Oh and you had to ask for dessert! We had to ask to have food that we already paid for!

The room was clean. We received clean towels daily and the food was good. I would have given it 5 stars and the reason I didn’t was there was supposed to be an Italian restaurant open, if you forgot a personal care item or wanted a snack it wasn’t available. No extra amenities other than the Waves restaurant which was buffet style and the Beach house that served pub food and drinks. The food was good. You really need a car or you can use the hotel shuttle because the place is secluded. We had a good time.

The staff were a little rude but they are overworked so that could be part of it. I probably wouldn't go back there but if you like to be secluded it is a great place because the closest places to visit are about 25 minutes to an hour away.

I enjoyed the property itself — the lobby is beautiful, the rooms are clean with private beachfront balconies, and the food and drinks (when available) were good. Some staff members, especially the chef, truly went out of their way to make things work with what they had, and I really appreciated their effort. It’s clear the team is doing their best despite limited resources.

However, there’s a lot of room for improvement. The resort appears severely understaffed, which impacts service, dining access, and overall experience. Long walks to rooms, broken beach chairs, limited food hours, menu items running out early, and long wait times at the bar were ongoing issues. For an all-inclusive, having restricted dining options and no consistent food availability throughout the day was disappointing. Internet and phone service were also unreliable, making remote work impossible.

Overall, it’s a beautiful property with strong potential, but it doesn’t currently deliver a true all-inclusive experience. With better staffing and improved consistency, it could be elevated significantly. As it stands, I’d rate it 2.9 out of 5 stars.

Spacious and clean, the basic oceanfront room offers a ringside seat to the lapping waves and warm breezes. The room is big with economy-level outfitting and is perfect for use as a jumping off point to explore the rest of St. Croix using a rental car. Renting a car is a MUST because the label \"all-inclusive resort\" is an underwhelming reality. Plan on eating out at local eateries as resort has a single breakfast buffet, a single poolside bar/grill, and a single evening dining option. Sunbathing on the beach, swimming in the single pool, kayaking and snorkeling are the extent of resort amenities. Using this as a beachfront hotel room with some \"bonus perks\" is better than expecting an all inclusive resort. Stay here. Rent a car. Make your own adventures. Don't rely on Divi Carina Bay Boutique to serve up your adventures.

Not what an “all inclusive resort” normally is when you don’t have any type of room service whatsoever ever. You shut down all food at 945pm and all drinks at 1030. So after basically 11pm you have no access to ANYTHING except the bottles of water in your room as the “resort” is 30 plus mins away from anything else. Oh and you can’t find a ride either for that matter. Staff members are very rude. I did enjoy Liz, Greg, Louisa, Scott, and the young lady that only works on Saturday and Sunday I cannot remember her name. Only good thing about the “resort”

The room was set on 60 degrees, only people accustomed to negative degrees would find that comfortable. I was too cold to change into my pajamas. The room smelled like sewage. There are very few activities and it's not close to anything. It's expensive paying for taxis to get back and forth. I got the best taxi driver on the island, but I was just lucky. I wouldn't return.

This was a great stay the staff was wonderful from the front desk to the outdoor bar everything was great. My spouse and I came for my birthday it was quiet, peaceful versus our house with 10 plus people. The room was clean and very nice, the amenities were also fun could have had jet skis and a little club for us but other than that it was the greatest experience ever. The restaurant served great food and wine was the chefs kiss.. And let us not forget the exemplary taxi services from Francis and Steve…We will most definitely be coming back again

We had a group of 25, all booked separately , they messed up most of our rooms , didn’t put us on beachfront rooms that we requested. We also booked 5 months in advance. The website shows and advertises Two pools , one with cabanas , they only have ONE pool and the other with cabanas have been closed for two years but the pictures still remain online. Four days before our stay we were informed all hot tubs are closed , no reason why. On the second night all of the 5 stalls on the women’s pool
Bathroom flooded and were closed down the remainder of the week. With only two bathrooms to use in the lobby. ALL cab prices are $30 a person one way , so get ready to spend some money of leaving the resort. To see this place get an 8 star is laughable. So sad to celebrate a friends 50th here . Would NOT return or recommend

The room was clean except for some stuff was left in the sink. The first room we got there was a big chunk missing out of the door, and the back door didnt want to open, so they put us in another room. The doors opened and were fine but there was some bugs, or gross stuff left in the sink. Most of the staff were curtious but some of them were super rude. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant the first night and it wasnt very good nor was it enough food, so my husband ordered a cheeseburger from the bar and was not impressed, so we explored the island and ate out for most of our trip. The ocean was great, the pools and hot tub were all excellent. We just didnt use this hotel for the all inclusive that it should have been. We never used the casino or the other activities at this hotel so we dont have a review on all of that.

2025 Thanksgiving week was quiet, the hotel room was average, clean, and the shower and bed wer amazing. We slept great. The view is amazing, very windy this time of year.
The pool was chilly. Hot tub worked fine. The hotel was changing cable providers, TV got 5 channels for the whole week, IT had to help a few times to get them to work. FYI, Thanksgiving Football. :( Since they have limited guests, having a buffet for meals didnt prove cost effective, so limited choices each night for an all inclusive. :( The hotel is still undergoing some renovations and changes. :( The 2nd pool and putt putt was not available. Im not a gambler, but the casio was packed and people seemed happy, our driver won big last week. No TV's or football in the casino. The hotel staff was great and accomdating. Always starting the conversation with Im sorry. The pool side bar and grill staff made the trip amaizing for us. Thank you SCOTT and NATI.

My stay at carina bay was everything i could have asked for the staff was the most amazing part the hospitality here never lacked and i will definitely be making a point to come back. The food was amazing though we were limited to one restaurant the menu was changed every night and the options were great they have a wide variety of wine and a full bar. The ocean front view was beautiful & my room was very comfortable the only reason im giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the wifi & power were on and off throughout my stay so it was a little inconvenient when time to contact my driver because you don't get signal on the resort so you rely on wifi other than that i had an amazing stay and i want to give a specific shoutout to Elisha, Jason & Scott for making my stay so wonderful there were so many more names i wish i could remember Thank you guys again & see you soon !!

This was an all-inclusive. The one and only restaurant (dining room) was closed due to no air conditioning. Dinner was served on the breakfast room as a buffet style. Note there was no A/C in this room, only fans and open doors. Rooms were poorly cleaned. Made bed and new towels. Room was cleaned. The In room fridge was stocked on day one and never replenished during our stay, as well as the coffee pods.
There should be some type of refund

We absolutely LOVE Louisa and Mandy. We remember Mandy from last year and we love her, too, but Louisa was absolutely the star of this trip. She suggested amazing drinks, made them perfectly according to how we liked them, was sweet and absolutely looked like she loves what she does. We got excited every time we saw her AND Mandy. Louisa just worked almost every day we were there and unfortunately, Mandy was only there one of the nights before we left. We came back to Divi because we loved the food, drinks and STAFF! They made our trip memorable and so much more enjoyable than it already was. Those two feel like family and we can’t wait to see them again!

Definitely rent a car and be prepared to travel the island. Best part was seeing the whole island and eating at different restaurants.

Enjoyed my trip for the most part. Nothing bad to say. Just had to remind the staff that I paid for a VIP package at a certain time. I expected a little bit more from the package but overall not bad. The seaweed smell is overbearing but the hotel itself is good. Dining options were good. Natifah and Louisa were amazing bartenders. Finding a cab in that area was a task (and pricey) and some of the cab drivers are shady. But love this resort and would recommend to a friend and would come back

Enjoyed my stay in St Croix, the food was limited and wish that Expedia and hotel were more transparent about the beach being closed. It is not the resort fault for sargassum but don’t call yourself a beach resort if there is no beach. The staff if friendly. Food options very limited which for the money we paid is a negative. Housekeeping was non existent 2 days put sign in door to clean and room went uncleaned. The gym was probably the best feature of the stay. Would not recommend the Divi to anyone else. If we had not rented a car for the week and like to travel around the vacation would have been a disaster. Expedia and Divi please do better in advertising this resort.

St. Croix is a beautiful island. Lots of great snorkeling! The hotel was not a highlight for our trip. The buffet restaurant is very limited and the food is comparable to a school cafeteria. Out at the poolside bar, we had two amazing bartenders (Kevin and Scott, I believe) who were fun and made pretty much whatever we wanted. In the evening, the bartenders were rude and would not make frozen drinks. One bartender literally told us he would only make two drinks for us because he hated making frozen ones. One night, we could not get service because the two bartenders were flirting with a group of young girls and taking shots with them. The cooks at the pool-side grill were awesome! We mostly ate fries and wings the entire time we were there.

The last two days we were there, we did not have hot water and it was so cold, we couldn’t take showers. The Italian restaurant closed without warning on our last night. We were very disappointed.

The site warns you about the seaweed and events changing without notice, but getting there, it was worse than I imagined. They offered to drive us to a more swimmable beach. We went and they left after one hour because a few of the couples were hungry and bored. So we had to leave, too. Several events were cancelled and weren’t even announced.

We had fun on the island but this resort was disappointing.

Most of the staff were excellent. There were a few with a bad attitude. The food was NOT great except for the breakfast. It was really good, especially the omelette station. Lunch was the same fried bar food everyday. The AC in the restaurant was out so we were only able to eat the good dinner food one night. The rest of the time, it was soggy buffet food. The beach was covered in red dying algae that smelled like sulfur. The rooms need a remodel/update. The beds were good. The nightly entertainment was loud. Made it difficult to just sit & enjoy the evening ocean view. The Hottub was not hot. It’s a long way from the airport & it costs $25 per person & $15 per bag to get there. They should have a free shuttle service.

Couldn't go in the ocean because of extensive seaweed and bad odor. We went all inclusive and ocean view, the view was nice but all inclusive sucked, the one and only restaurant was closed since 2024 and we had to eat at the buffet every single day and night, which wasn't great and then they had trouble with air conditioning. Elizabeth Kelly was supposed to put us on first floor because of health problems, well needless to say it wasn't possible so we ended up on the third floor. This is not an all-inclusive resort! There is nothing to do, you have to pay ridiculous amounts of money to go to other places just to participate in any kind of activity. The beach resort DOES NOT have a beach that can be utilized. The smell is horrible. Variety of food choices was too small to be considered for a vacation stay. Overall, very disappointing for the amount of money being spent.

Food and drinks was 10/10. Staff was friendly. Wasn’t able to use the beach at the hotel. Nothing is walking distance but they do provide taxi services with extra charge to other beaches or ferry shuttles. Room was nice and clean. Power went out for about two hours; believe due to wind. Overall enjoyed the trip. Would book with other Divi resorts!

Disappointing Service & False Promises at an All-Inclusive resort
The staff’s hospitality is surface level friendly until you actually need something. Then, they become dismissive, unhelpful, and often outright hostile, as if guests are an inconvenience rather than the reason the resort exists.
Unprofessional & Unhygienic Service
Louisa, the pool bartender, was a standout disappointment consistently rude, visibly miserable, and shockingly unprofessional. Watching her handle limes with her bare hands (long nails included) was appalling. Is a basic lime squeezer too much to ask for at an all-inclusive resort?
Incompetence & Misinformation
- The front desk insisted the bar closed at 11 PM, yet it shut down at 10:30 PM every night without exception.
- Our package promised water sports, yet nothing was available upon arrival. No alternatives were offered, even though seaweed made the beach unusable.
- We were told the pool opened at 6 AM, but staff failed to mention no entry was allowed until 10 AM due to maintenance.
Half-Hearted Service & Lack of Effort
At the coffee bar, we ordered an iced cappuccino only to receive a hot one. Instead of remaking it properly (with frothed milk), the barista poured the hot drink over ice and called it fixed. Should we really have to beg three times for a simple order to be correct?

The property states it’s all inclusive but u are limited to food and supplies. They do not have vegan options. We were not able to go onto the beach due to all of the seaweed and the smell was horrible. The property is an adult only resort and they do not have any party areas or things for adults to do. The resort is not informational with offsite excursions and you will have to ask staff about certain things to do. We were not able to use the onsite water activities due to the seaweed. We loved Farrah and the staff. Management needs to come up with better ideas to make the resort more welcoming and fun

My ride to the resort was crazy as I was over charged. The price was set for 28 but was charged 55. The driver was driving extremely fast for the curvy roads of st. Croix. To avoid this please use the resort driver from the resort. You can call and arrange this in advance… I wish I had known. Once I got to the resort, I was given a third floor room even though I called previously called and asked for a second floor because of mobility issues. There is limited access to a staff elevator. The room on the third floor was occupied… someone’s belongings were still in the room. It was another 90 minutes before I could get into a room on the second floor. The room was beautiful and I was given a complimentary bottle of wine. The dining hall was excessively hot to point where you did not want to eat. So mealtime for me was less than 10 to 15 minutes so I wouldn’t over heat. Other than those things, the area was beautiful. The ocean view was beautiful. We could not enter the water due to the brown algae bloom. The casino was ok, but a little outdated. The saving grace for this trip was the tours with Farah and the rides with Mr. Frances (the taxi driver for the resort). Their perspectives of St. Croix and interactions with me makes me want to come back. However, I will be staying some place else.

Disappointing Stay – More Like a Motel Than a Resort (1–2 Stars)

If you’re expecting a traditional all-inclusive resort experience, this is not the place. Our overall stay was deeply underwhelming and I would give this “resort” a 1–2 star rating at best. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this was a small, very basic property — more reminiscent of a roadside motel than a tropical resort.

First Impressions

The layout and scale of the property immediately give away its limitations. It’s compact, lacking atmosphere, and feels more like a senior center retreat than a vacation destination. Staffing is minimal, and there’s an overall absence of energy and hospitality.

Food & Beverage Options

This is where the resort fails the most in delivering on the “all-inclusive” promise.

Buffet: Breakfast and dinner are served buffet-style, with no variety — the same limited options every day.

Restaurants: The one Italian restaurant onsite was closed due to an “air conditioning issue,” with no alternative offered.

Pool Bar: The only bar is by the pool, which also serves some grilled items, but it’s chronically understaffed despite the resort being nearly empty (~20 guests max).

Coffee Shop: Only open in the morning and closes at 11am — not ideal if you're hoping for an afternoon pick-me-up.

Resort Beach

This was one of the biggest letdowns.

Unusable in Summer: The beach was completely inaccessible due to thick seaweed buildup. The smell of seaweed/sewage was strong throughout
