Over priced and highly over rated. I checked out after one night because I found it to generally be a dump. I expected a luxury hotel paying over $650 per day which included more than $150 in extra fees. I was given room 223 and it was hideous. The king bed was old and sat on 1980s ceramic tile with dirty grout. There was no place or table to put the luggage so I had to use the floor which make it tight on the sides of the bed. A small old TV was mounted above the coffee bar. The one chair in the room had a stained cushion and the wood frame was worn. It should have been in the trash. The bathroom had a bathtub with worn enamel and a cheap shower curtain. The room faced an OLD pool with OLD buildings. Tried to eat at the main restaurant and ordered a $28 hamburger. I could not taste any beef but only this weird seasoning. It was disgusting so I sent it back and got nothing because the only other thing that looked interesting was a $68 ribeye. A SMALL, like 6 oz. margarita with ice cost $25. Went to see a room at the DIVI and left the next morning. My room and the resort looked nothing like the pics advertised. They charged me an extra day, $659, for the early check out which I plan to dispute. Hope the next screen allows pics.

Very steep hill from oceanfront room (Mermaid beach) to big house where terrace restaurant is. I could not walk up there due to back issues, but staff would pick me up in shuttle van. Beautiful property. More choices for dining would have been good- only one restaurant open for dinner each night.

The Buccaneer is a top notch resort with friendly staff, excellent food and drinks, beautiful beaches and golf course. We couldn’t get enough of swimming around in gentle surf of Mermaid Beach. We didn’t want to leave so we extended our checkout for a reasonable fee. We would definitely go back.

Our first room had a rain water leak and we needed to be moved to another room which was not as nice. We asked for a different room that was oceanfront like the first one and the resort was able to finally accommodate us. We asked for a microwave which was never delivered. However, overall a beautiful resort with pleasant staff and a delicious complimentary breakfast.

The Buccaneer is the absolute best place to stay in the Virgin Islands. Fantastic rooms, spectacular ocean views, pristine beaches, it has it all. And to top it off, a staff that makes you feel like you’re part of the family. Can’t wait to plan our next trip to St Croix.

Everything was clean and nice. The ocean view rooms were recently upgraded and are exceptional. Staff were kind and helpful. Most encouraged staying on the property rather than exploring the island. Unless you have a rental, the air port will charge $50+ for transportation and 5 dollar per bag. However an airport employee gave me a business card for st croixs uber app which is on the App Store called “VI-Hail” so instead of paying 50+ I paid 37$ not including an optional tip which you can do through the app. I constantly told staff the phone in my room did not work so I had to use my personal phone to call the front desk to get transportation around the resort. Upon check out I received a bill of 68$ for an alleged drink I had paid for via card and four dollars in which was a donation. I quickly cleared this up and did not pay for a donation. I’m not opposed to donating but I much rather you ask than to have it charged twice on a bill without being informed. The front desk told me it was $70 to go to the airport during check out. I declined and used the VI-hail app. It was only $30. The front desk receptionist did not like this. I found that although everyone is mostly friendly they are against you spending money and time off the resort and with locals. However it was a beautiful stay. The food was great and the island was friendly and breath taking.

The Bucaneer resort and staff never disappoint. The place is beautiful and clean, and the staff is over-the-top friendly, nice, and accommodating. I cant stress enough how wonderful every worker on that property treats all of tge guests. Highly recommend vacationing at the resort if at all possible!

The price is way too much for what they offer. The toilets are the weirdest small toilet I have ever seen in a hotel. We love St. Croix, we booked here for 1 night after our flight was cancelled, abd thought it would be an upscale treat. It was not.

I wanted to love the resort, but it missed the mark in many ways. Deferred maintenance, cold breakfasts, restaurants with repeating menus that were mediocre. Rocks and ants even made the beach less than desirable. Golf course was in poor shape.

We had a nice big hotel room with a great view of the ocean, the restaurant food was excellent and the staff was great. The hotel connected us with the park service and we had a chance to volunteer for a “turtle count” on Buck Island (seeing the turtle hatchlings was an unforgettable experience). Mermaid beach was the. Beast of the 3 beaches they advertise. We were concerned about reports of Sargassum seaweed on the beaches but almost none was on Mermaid Beach (some of thr south beaches were covered). We would visit the hotel again.

Resort is beautiful, everyone is welcoming and very friendly. If you have difficulty walking the resort has steep hills and one really needs a car rental. Guests may call for the resort shuttle, but we felt captive and spent a lot on tips for the drivers. Breakfast buffet was good but not hot. Limited choices for lunch and dinner. Other than these, it was a relaxing time.

The property itself was nice. There’s not much around it to do so I did like the private beaches right on the grounds. You will have to walk far but can get a ride. There was nice bar that sold food and drinks right on the beach. The other beach area had games and too many people. It was nice to have a choice.

Limited on dining areas. I believe as far as nice sit down restaurants, there were only 2. The one attached inside the hotel is where we ate. Beautiful view but no enclosure so it was warm. Not sure I liked that. But the food was really good. It took a long time to get our dinner but it was delicious once it came. I had the lam chops. They were delicious.

Our room had a balcony and I liked that. A fridge and cold water available. Nice bathroom and shower accommodations. Large sink area.

The turn-off although minimal is your handed this 4 or 5 page pamphlet to read as you come in. It tells u everything you need to know but waaaay to much reading when you’re on vacation. It has important info so you really should read it. The hotel was about 30 min from the airport . It was nice the hotel offered ride service. Not free but not expensive either. It was clean and seemed safe. Id go back.

Property is beautiful. There is a bit of construction on the property. It’s not inhibit our stay, but could if you were closer to the construction areas. Service at all of the restaurants was exceptionally slow. It took over 20min one even to just get water (the glass you normally get when seated) delivered to our table. It took 2hours to eat.

The restaurant schedule is also specific by day and we found that inconvenient.

Fabulous unexpected treasure of a hotel. We stayed in the main hotel which was perfect for us as it was close to bar and restaurant. There were shuttles to take you to the beach or it was just a short downhill walk. Good in the restaurants was excellent and the complimentary breakfast was delicious

I didn't like it at all. It was like an old folks home. Extremely boring, bar opens at 11a, no entertainment at the pool or beach. Breakfast was meh. Door locks to our 3 rooms all had continuous issues. Taxi's are slow and ridiculously expensive. The island itself is pretty dead, seems like mostly for 70+ retired people. Although my mom (73) was bored too! They only cater to folks there for weddings. NEVER RETURNING!

The Buccaneer overdelivered in every way. From the moment I arrived, the service felt personal,not robotic or rehearsed, but real. Breakfast was included with our stay, and let me tell you, it wasn't your standard hotel buffet. Every morning brought something new and thoughtfully prepared,full-service, flavorful, and far from repetitive. They managed to surprise us daily, and as a self-proclaimed foodie, I never had a bad bite on this property.

Both beachside restaurants? Legit. Whether it was fresh-caught fish or a tropical cocktail crafted like art, the meals matched the views,elevated but unpretentious. Cleanliness? Impeccable. Housekeeping went beyond the basics without ever being intrusive.

What really sets this place apart, though, are the people. The drivers who shuttled us around were beyond friendly,they felt like locals who genuinely wanted you to fall in love with their island. Empress at the front desk? Deserves a raise and her own fan club. She’s attentive, kind, and has a calm command of everything happening on the property.

The beaches are exactly what you imagine when you book a Caribbean trip: pristine, peaceful, and never overcrowded. The entire resort is kept in top shape,grounds, rooms, pools, everything. And one underrated detail: they’ve got a taxi line ready to take you anywhere on the island, 24/7. Whether I was heading out for dinner in Christiansted or coming back from an adventure, I felt totally covered and safe, which made exploring the island.

Overall the stuff was friendly. The hotel and Beach were beautiful. We received a free upgrade upon arrival and the food was delicious. The two pieces of feedback I have are 1. We had to wait at least an hour for our food every time we ordered which can be hard when you have kids who are hungry and ordered butter pasta and 2. You can tell the rooms were a hit by a hurricane or just wear and tear. Some of the rooms were newer. That's the ones we stayed in were a little bit older and had little issues

The Buccaneer Resort offers pleasant accommodations but is considerably overpriced for the level of service provided. For a nightly rate exceeding $700, I would expect thorough housekeeping, including daily sheet changes and proper bathroom cleaning, rather than just towel replacements and bed-making. Throughout our stay, we frequently had to request basic amenities that were not replenished. Additionally, my wife experienced severe food poisoning after dining at the onsite Terrace Restaurant. Despite multiple discussions with hotel staff regarding this incident, no satisfactory action was taken. Overall, our experience at the hotel was highly disappointing.
