Check in was fine. Pleasant friendly staff. Had to move rooms 3 times due to various issues. Very small bed. Poor lighting. No hot water in shower. Disappointing for a newly refurbished hotel

Probably the nicest place ive ever stayed. Old world charm and immaculate modern room. The people were warm, helpful and efficient. If you get the chance, spend a night or two thete.

The property is currently under renovation so facilities were limited. Pictures on Expedia did not reflect true situation. If you dont mind staying on a working site then ok. No dining facilities whilst we were there.

although improvements were going on - things like pallets and rubbish in reception and surrounding areas were not good. The room - hot water tap was loose so you had to hold to turn water on and off - sink plug didn't fit - shower hose black and rusty also sealant around bath black. Toiletries only for one person. Accept improvements were being made to a very tired building to pay £130 was very high - £90 would be a fare price. Infact I think Marstons should close it while the work is done.

Modern place on a main street, but not real near the ocean. Nice place to spend a night, We were there Sunday night and the restaurant was closed, but there was reasonable food about a third of a mile away (also an ALDIs). Bakery for breakfast located across the street. The hotel’s parking lot was convenient, but if the hotel was closed probably somewhat limited.

When I arrived, there was no heating on in the room and it was quite chilly. I had a word with reception and it was soon resolved. Someone came to the rescue! Comfortable, quiet and pleasant all night.
Very friendly and helpful at the Thomas Arms. I will be returning when on my regular visits to Llanelli. Thanks.

Staff are very friendly, helpful and pleasant.
This hotel is convenient for my work as I live 50 miles away from my studios and travelling can be difficult in bad weather.
I will be using every time I stay in Llanelli. Cannot fault.

I booked during a stressful moment and when we arrived was told the booking was for the following week but the manager so kindly changed it to there and then. We stayed here twice within a few weeks and the first booking we had a charming original room. The second booking we had a smaller room, adequate, but not as charming. Still, a good sleep was had. Great staff, a busy venue for events and the restaurant and pub. Very walkable to shops at town centre.

Overall the room was clean and tidy, although very warm. Friendly staff but limited, the evening was adequate, but no one on hand for breakfast 😕. We were told 8am, waited until 8.25 and no one opened up. We left as we had a funeral in the morning so picked up a sauage roll. The outside area for a cigerette was very untidy, no ashtrays, cigerette buts everywhere 😒

My stay at the Thomas Arms was far from satisfactory given the unclean state of the entire hotel including stains to most of the hotel’s carpets together with road noise from the main thoroughfare right outside the room window.

Thought that the team at the hotel were very disinterested in the job and certainly not going the extra mile towards their guests.

The hotel is tired and worn out.

Located on the edge of the town centre with easy access to restaurants bars and shopping together with public transport this would be a convenient place to stay.

Could be so much better with very little effort.

Average at best - sadly in Llanelli!

The Thomas Arms is worn and in time for a good freshening up. The restaurant was fine, but the area around the hotel, and all of downtown Llanelli is not pretty, full of vagrants. We decided not to go out at night, walking around, we didn't feel safe.
That's not the hotels fault, but unless you are happy locked into a mediocre pub/hotel, go some where else.

TV didn’t work, poor state of decor, our room was above the bar and the jukebox was left on all night, after lake of use the juke box plays the odd song, so we had quite a few times being woken up!

Room was clean as was hotel just a bit untidy in areas, and in need of some touch in decor.

Food and drink in restaurant was lovely and great value

I love to see positive feedback in any review but I am afraid I can say nothing positive about this establishment. My wife and I walked into the room and were hit by the heat, the window was open but it could only be opened about two inches, I get for safety reasons but no other means to cool the room. When we went to bed it was still so hot that we had to lay with no cover and little clothing a constant humming and intermittent louder humming (from bathroom extractors) kept us awake. During my broken light sleep at almost 1am our door was unlocked and opened and a voice said \"somebodies already in this one\" door banging in the corridor and bedrooms continued for a future 45mins or so. I have travelled the country extensively working and staying in hundreds of hotels of all types and can honestly say this is one of the worst. On checking out the young man on reception looked at me very sheepishly and said nothing!!

I picked this hotel from the feedback on Hotels.com where is was rated 8/10. I have no idea how it has been rated slow highly, Brains really need to take a look at this site and put some money into decorating it at least. The staff where doing their best losing to be honest. Wouldn't recommend this hotel, over priced and very noisy outside next to busy roads. Owners take note.

A charming building from the outside, but in an unprepossessing position at a road junction.
However, we were warmly welcomed, and checkin was fast and efficient. Our family room was of a very good size; clean and well provisioned. We ALL had a really good, comfortable nights sleep. A real gem of a place…and the staff were super friendly..

Clean and comfortable stay

Ladies on a cycling trip. We had a lovely stay at the Thomas Arms Hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable. The evening meals were fabulous after a busy journey. Would recommend this hotel. The staff kindly arranged to lock away our bikes securely overnight which was appreciated.

I had a twin room with my son. We had an evening meal in the restaurant, which was very nice and good value for money. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. The room itself was very clean and comfortable, just what I’d expect for the price paid. However the room was far too hot which made it uncomfortable. The weather was not overly hot outside to account for this. We had to open the windows and have the fan supplied in the room on all night to even attempt to be comfortable. It is a real shame as this is the only negative but it did impede on our sleep

Lovely Hotel

We arrived on the Sunday, and check-in was smooth and very friendly with Caroline the owner. Our room was very clean and comfortable. On the evening we dined in the Thomas Arms with our daughter and Children who joined us for the meal. Choice and quality of food was excellent as was the service. Breakfast the next morning, equally as good.

Needed a last minute bed and breakfast, and the Thomas Arms was one of the most reasonably priced. Clean room, nice bathroom and good sized room too. Breakfast was very enjoyable too!

Large comfortable double bed. TV in room but poor reception so unable to view for short time spent in room waiting go out for the evening. Double glazed window inadequate to supress traffic noise from main road. Sweet wrapper on first floor hallway to bedrooms at check in at 4pm still there on departure the following day at 9.30. Good breakfast with choice of cereals and full breakfast. Coffee disappointing being sharp and watery. Pleasant staff.

Comfortable and Relaxing

I enjoyed this hotel. It was quiet and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Llanelli is a lovely place and the beach is a 10 minute walk away.
I was here on business and will stay again.
Alison and Becca were chatty at breakfast, they were friendly and welcoming.

Staff very helpful BUT ordered sirloin medium got a rump over cooked and tough. Complained was told it was a sirloin ,chef had taken it out of bag containing sirloins. Terrible noise from boiler room next to me room [no 6] . Told staff on duty who told it was the hot water pump, and could not turn it off because it supplied whole hotel with hot water. Spoke to manager [Chris] , told her I was not going to stay in that room and asked for transfer to another room, told there were no other rooms available. Then said I would be leaving. Chris very sympathetic offered credit for my stay and booked me into another hotel. Must say first impressions were good, it looked clean and staff very cheerful, Chris especially, but something must be done about the pump room and room 6
