Our stay was excellent value for money. Breakfast was lovely, clean room etc, kettle and teas provided. Staff were also very friendly and welcoming. Minor thing was that the halls could do with a lick of paint but the rooms themselves, and the bar etc was nice.

Staff were very friendly and hotel was located in a quiet place but the problem was my bed was so uncomfortable, the mattress had collapsed and needed turning or rotating asked twice but they did nothing, wasn’t bothered at all. So as of this I don’t sleep for very long and will never return as obviously they don’t listen to the guests and help them with the requests.

Genuinely dreadful, checked out after one night.
Bath had a dirty rim around it, cracks in the sink and the walls, what appeared to be bogies smeared on the wall by the sink.
No way to control the temperature in the room except a plastic fan, noisy and uncomfortable, key card worker only intermittently, shower leaked and sprayed across the room.
When I returned to my room the whole corridor stank of cannabis.
Genuinely one of the worst experiences I have ever had in a hotel, I would advise anyone to avoid this place. It looks like an open prison.

Lovely welcome after a tortuous 7 hour journey but a disappointing room. TV didn't work and bathroom fan was soooo noisy. Niall was quick to respond though and smoothed the way. Thank you.

The food at the hotel was lovely. We had an evening meal and breakfast. The restaurant staff were very friendly and very attentive.
The bar was adequately stocked, but I think they missed a trick. The hotel is pretty close to Penderyn distillery , yet stock nothing of their range. I for one would definitely have spent more at the bar if more Welsh or local beverages had been on offer. A black dragon cider would have been preferable to a bland Singha beer, or a penderyn single malt over whatever generic brand X whisky.
The only other issue was the shower in the room was very underpowered. Not sure if it's a water pressure issue, but there was no way to use it effectively without having the shower head in you hand & even then it was not great.
Overall, due to the lovely friendly team looking after us,.we would stay again.

The main areas of the hotel are good, clean, modern. The staff in the bar and restaurant were excellent, friendly.
I only ate dinner a couple of times, no breakfast or lunch, but the dinner menu was fine, good variety, good quality. Hotel prices obviously, although there are other places not far away as alternatives.
I don't know about other rooms but in my room the carpet was clearly way past the time it should have been steam cleaned - lots of staining. While some staining is inevitable due to repeated use, this was far beyond what should be acceptable.
The bathroom was ok for the most part but it suffered as many hotels do - water getting under the glass shower (over the bath) door. Consequently there was an area where water gathered and needed to be mopped up after each shower, so the floor looked grubby, although it didn't feel like that.
The hotel appears to have a lot of coach parties and business travelers, some of whom stay for weeks, so maybe they are allocated the better rooms.

Very convenient.

The hotel was very convenient for us when we needed to be nearby for an appointment early in the morning.
It seems a bit dated but the bed was comfortable. The signs directing to rooms were a bit confusing. There wasn't much tea and coffee provided but I'm sure we could have had more if we had time to ask. There wasn't much room to hang clothes but I guess it's not designed for a long stay.

Staff very helpful, particularly on reception.

Average, definitely not a 4 star hotel. 3 at best. The downstairs area around reception and restaurant was nice but the room needs some serious work done. Obviously hasn't been updated/renovated/maintained in quite some time. Carpet was filthy, chairs very dirty and the bathroom really needs to be re done. Bed was clean and comfy, shower warm, everything else needs work. Bit disappointing really.

Ok for one night or somewhere to sleep

We only stayed one night so the hotel was ok, it seems a little old and run down, and the sink in my room was blocked and drained away slowly. I did not report this until the morning of departure as it was too late by the time we used the sink in the bathroom.Staff were all very friendly.

Overpriced and outdated.

This is not somewhere I would recommend based on price. We paid £140 for 1 night, and were put in a dusty room. There was only 1 towel for 3 guests, the surfaces were all unclean with dust and finger marks. Pillows were extremely uncomfortable and none were provided for the single bed. No bath mat, 2 year old daughter fell over in there. Tea/coffee station hadn’t been replenished from last guests. Walls are paper thin. Had the room have been cheaper I wouldn’t mind as much, however it’s definitely overpriced.

We only stayed the one night as a stopover. The welcome from Summer on reception was cheerful and helpful, despite being late in the day. After a long journey the Welsh cakes were a nice treat. The bar was comfortable, but the furniture needs a clean. The menu was varied and the food freshly prepared. The bar staff were friendly and professional. Plenty of parking and quiet area.

No heating to our room, we are in our eighties and it was cold in the evening, no hot water in the morning only tepid so could not bath or shower. Pillows rock hard .
Was told at dinner the meat pie was chicken, never seen a chicken with red meat before [bacon] .

A few small details detract from nice hotel

Hotel room decor was just a little tired and the tea and coffee-making facilities in the room had not been re-stocked so we only had 1 teabag for 3 people when we arrived. Also the sachets of instant coffee provided are cheap and nasty. The bathroom sink was partially blocked-it was very slow to drain.

So got there. Put in a room that STANK of cannabis.

Phoned reception and got another room, it was fine.

The hotel was pretty worn, bad paintwork and generally substandard for the price.

The receptionist was nice and efficient. The night barman was good and acommodating. Service good but hotel bad.

Wouldnt stay again. Theres many other better options for comparable prices.

On way to and from rooms obviously people smoking in their rooms, the corridors stank. Also more cannabis smell on the way to my new room. Nod good.

After a long trip, the receptionist was very helpful and handed over some Welsh Cakes as a gift. We booked a meal at the restaurant for that evening without any hassle. The breakfast was lovely and plentiful. Will stay there again.

We had a lively stay here. The staff are so friendly and helpful. It's nice to have a chat with staff. We had a small issue with the booking , we had upgraded but the bookinghadn't gone through . It didn't matter though. The staff on reception were so apologetic but I said it wasn't their fault so no need to keep apologising. The room that we had was a classic room and the bed was amazing. It was so comfortable and very big. The shower was lovely and powerful and the toiletries were great, they smelled amazing. A beautiful stay, thank you

The hotel and staff were superb, our stay was hassle free and convenient, without any issues. The breakfast was superb and the hotel rooms are comfortable and well equipped.
Our one gripe, which was outside the hotel was the guests were reluctant to pick up their dogs mess in the field to the left of the hotel. Perhaps a sign reminding guests of their responsibilities and a possible fine might help. The field was full of dog waste, can't be pleasant in the summer for guests/children.

Average hotel. Room was ok but the bed was very small for two people. Walls were very thin making it a quite noisy. The breakfast was average. Packets of cereal, not much selection of fruits. Hot counter served dry shrivelled mushrooms and dry hard fried eggs. The staff were really nice and friendly.

A handy hotel for Morriston hospital

A very handy hotel for visiting Swansea or Morriston including the hospital, some 10 to 15 minutes drive away. Clean, reasonably comfortable, heating and hotwater problem was obvious during our stay. Good service, nice food and a large bar/ lounge on site . Free parking with some dog friendly rooms.

Good but not great

Staff service was fantastic, the rooms were good, however I was in a handicap room which wasn't a problem but due to the way the hotel is structured, again a good thing, the handicap room is closest to the reception area so at night and morning there was a relative constant footfall of guests passing the room, not being noisy but not being quiet either. potentially could do with additional soundproofing for this room.

If the menu for food is important to you then be aware that the menu on the web covers samples from across all the mercure hotels . Some items are not available in Swansea
The same is true of the bar stock. No alcohol free beers available. So much for encouraging no drink and driving prior to Christmas

The bathroom sink tap is stiff and squeaky. The fan sounds like it hasn't got long to live. There are stains on the bedroom carpet.
I had to request a blanket as the duvet was much too hot in the night. A blanket should be provided in rooms so that guests have the option to use whichever they prefer. As it was, I endured the first night poor quality sleep and was provided with a blanket for the second night.

On the positive side the beds are comfortable and Niall, the chap at the front desk was helpful and pleasant.

That said, I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone I know who was planning to visit Swansea. The remote location from the town centre is also a factor why I wouldn't endorse this hotel.

For what I was charged - £214 for two nights - I was expecting more.

My room was very tired (and limescale on tap and kettle). Also very thin walls with creaky floor outside my room. People kept walking across at odd hours eg 4am. I kept waking up. Further, housekeeping woke me up despite me checking out an hour later.

However, Corrin was served me for my beverage was absolutely brilliant; and very friendly.
