Centrally located but very dated, needs a damn good spruce up. No receipts available from the bar, had a post it note with the charges written on. Breakfast was a good choice, the staff are all very good.

Room was the worst I have ever stayed in , , cobwebs , along with the spiders in corner , bird droppings on window , stains on carpets & chairs , the furniture was worn and scratched , carpet a tripping hazard as all uneven , & not just in the room , the list goes on . I didn’t even use the tea and coffee in the room as the state of the room put me off using the kettle. I would’ve asked to be moved , but was only staying for 1 night , and judging by the corridors and stairways and the rest of the hotel , including the dining areas , a different room would’ve probably been just as bad.

Really friendly staff, really nice budget hotel, not sure how it’s rated 4 stars as it’s a bit more dated than a premier in. I wouldn’t let it stop you staying, location is excellent so is the room size and the beds were really comfortable. Just they really need to hoover the rooms and replace some bits! All in all would still stay again for a budget trip.

Couldn’t book in when room which was available as we didn’t pay for extra money to book in before 3. Couldn’t keep our luggage before book in - as the staff had to deal with ‘so many book outs’ at 2pm ?? Staff on this shift were not helpful as our previous visits. Absolutely poor , even checked out early when paid for the second night .

The hotel is solid, not a bad stay and the bed was quite comfortable. The property is quite run down though, with ripped / broken carpet, no fridges, and the rooms and hallways have likely not seen renovations for quite some time. Staff were very nice though.

Tired and dated hotel. Biggest concern was our room had a door linked to the next room which was not safe. The lock on our side did not engage properly and could have been pushed open with very little force from the room next door. In the middle of the night about 2am I was wakened by the person in the adjoining room opening their door and I thought they were trying to get into our room. As a result I did not sleep well. I reported this at reception before we left so I hope the matter is resolved.

Breakfast great, rooms and hotel in general very tired, but we think it’s being done up as scaffolding all round.
Staff efficient and pleasant, food sparse, only pizza for dinner available, so we ate out. Convenient location near shops and waterfront just a walk away, easy access to the gower.

The pictures online are nothing like the hotel when you get there the hotel needs a makeover. It says that it has two restaurants but in fact, the breakfast is only open till 10:30 in the morning and the brasserie was only open 2 times and I stayed a full week. It atates that it has a gym which it does not and hasn’t been working for years. The rooms are very dingy stuff caked and stuck on the walls.

The carpet, the wood flooring, the tile all is just very old and not well kept. One of the lightbulbs in my room was out which seems like the maid Service should catch.

When people asked where I was staying the Uber drivers and or Restaurant folks they all were like oh how is the Hotel because I hear it is not very good and is very run down.

I was lucky. I did have a small refrigerator in my room, which worked well for the week. The air-conditioning wouldn’t go lower than 26 Celsius, I was hot every night.

I did choose the hotel partially because of the location but partially because the pictures did look like it was going to be a decent looking hotel. I typically stay at The Grand, but it wasn’t available for two of my nights. If I went back, I would not stay in that hotel again.

The 2 female receptionists were warm friendly welcoming and professional and the hostess at breakfast was so very helpful smiley and thorough. Yes the decor is old fashioned tired but the hotel is clean and the rooms are spacious the bed was very comfortable and the location is perfect with cheaper onsite parking.

I've stayed at the hotel previously, but not for years. Unfortunately the hotel has not had any money spent on it and it is in need of a refresh. Whilst the staff were lovely, the room itself was tired and very cold, I did not have a comfortable night's sleep at all.

This hotel houses asylum seekers and vulnerable adults as part of a contract with local council. I arrived with no cars in carpark. Kitchen and bar closed. Single young men walking around the inside and grounds with no purpose. After questioning reception they admitted the above. If I had know I wouldn’t have stayed. They took that choice away from me and left ME vulnerable as a paying customer.

Main doors adjar when asked why this was as my partner is partially sighted and had to walk side ways through them

By the reception, I could guess it was an old hotel. Only one lift, with a capacity for 3 people without luggage, was working. The room was disgusting. The bedsheet was dirty, the carpet full of holes. Went to the reception to complain and get a new bedsheet. They brought two new ones, and when I changed, I noticed the mattress was actually a kind of two-seater sofa, and it was wet. When I went to check the other bed, the bedsheet was also dirty. The 3rd bed my friend slept in was awful and she had to sleep sat on the bed. The heater didn't work properly either. The worst stay we have ever had in my entire life.

I booked this trip so my daughter could visit Swansea university with her cousin. I booked breakfast but the hotel told them I hadn't (have had this problem before with Hotels.com).
They're only 18 so didn't want to complain but they said the TV didn't work and the toilet didn't flush properly either.

This hotel has 5 star staff but 2 star facilities. The reception looks good when you arrive. However - when you get to the rooms , they are substandard old and dated. The shower wafer did not even achieve the standard temperature.
Breakfast was horrible.
Cheep food the tasted nasty.
There were so many signs that the owners do not spend any money on maintenance or providing a good service.
The last point I found funny.
They play Spotify music over breakfast - but even this is the free version of Spotify with adverts.
Oh and parking is a cramped bin yard.
Honestly - best avoided

The most wonderful smiley welcome for breakfast in the piano room. The lady was very helpful and busy replenishing items. That lady deserves a pay rise for all her hard work.

Cleanliness wasn’t the best, don’t think the carpet has been hoovered or cleaned in a while, bits everywhere especially down the side of the bed. And stains in front of the sofa

Couldnt really open my windows as there was some kind of air ducting outside making noise all through the night so not the greatest sleep due to the warmth of the room and noise from outside.

The room did look quiet nice and looked like it’s had had a lick of paint and bathroom refurbed which was nice.

Least i got the correct room id booked this time.

The staff at the hotel where very welcoming, the room was big and spacious however a little dated, the bed was super comfy this was a surprise for me.
Carnt get over having a separate room with a sofa however the sofa was in the bedroom so really a bit os a useless room, the lift said it would carry 3 people but kept saying it was overloaded if 3 got in, the breakfast was very basic the sausages where disgusting to the extent i dont think could eat one ever again,, the bistro the waiter took ages to get my husband's drink he ordered ( at least half hour) then the pizza i ordered was out of stock so had to wait even longer after i changed my order, that was not a good experience,.
Would i stay here again if i was in the area yes i would as it was quiet and local to all the shops

Unser Zimmer war sauber, aber in einem sehr abgewohnten Zustand. Der Teppich war schmutzig, abgetreten und schlug Wellen. Einer der beiden Fahrstühle war außer Betrieb, scheinbar schon länger; der andere war winzig, alt und sehr langsam. Der Frühstücksraum bot einen trostlosen Anblick, das Frühstück war mangelhaft und seinen Preis nicht wert. Die Kaffeemaschine war defekt, als Alternative wurde auf die Beutel mit Instantkaffee verwiesen. Am zweiten Morgen gab es Kaffee aus einer Thermoskanne - leider ungenießbar.
Die unmittelbare Umgebung des Hotels war schrecklich, große Baustellen, viele leerstehende Geschäfte und die noch offenen Geschäfte nicht unser Geschmack.

The condition of the room is very poor and dilapidated, the furniture must be 50 yrs old and the chair was threadbare to such an extent you wouldn't want to sit on it. Added to this they wanted £10 a night for parking which wasn't mentioned in the booking. Totally disappointed with the hotel, the front desk staff were okay and entrance gave the impression it was of a much higher level. Also our window had scaffolding in front of it. The management should be ashamed of putting guests in such a poor room and charging these rates. Years ago the Dragon was seen as the hotel to stay at, sadly its the opposite !!
