Pleasant stay room was nice with a nice pub next door with nice food

We were able to park on the drive of the cottage, there was only room for one car so I think parking would be a struggle in high season.
We were shown to our room which was pretty, cottage like, vintage and clean. The window was behind the bed so I can’t speak of the views.
We had the only en-suite room, which had a bubble bath with a shower on the tap.
There was a tray in the room with coffee and tea bags, a small jug of milk and a bottle of tap water.
The mattress was comfortable and the pillows soft
Reviews I had read prior to booking mentioned the breakfasts, there were photographs of the breakfasts, so I felt sure I had booked a bed and breakfast.
There were no breakfasts on offer.
I believe Russell and Jackie lived downstairs, but there were 5/6 closed doors downstairs so when we chose to leave the next day we were unsure where to find them so unfortunately had to leave without saying goodbye.

Being only around 50 metres away from Two pubs we were spoilt for choice with both offering a fine and wide variety of food and drinks choices.
Jackie and Russell were excellent hosts and nothing was too much trouble, from giving us all the information we needed about the local area, to giving us extra towels to take to the beach.
If there was one criticism, it was that the wifi in the property, certainly in our room was either non- existant or so weak we were unable to watch tv. There was no terestial channels and access to the other channes via the internet and wifi such as bbc iplayer, prime, youtube etc was not possible..
We brought this to their attention and I'm sure, being the hosts they are this will be addressed quickly.
Would we stay there again? Of course, Would we recommend it to others? We already have..

I had a lovely stay. The room was clean, well furnished and the bed was very comfortable. Though there were 2 pubs less than 100 yards away, it was very quiet. Both pubs also served great food, which was very convenient after a day of sightseeing.

Lovely cottage rooms with all you need, Jackie is a great host and very welcoming. The cottage is 2 doors away from a good pub and the food was reasonably priced and delicious, The Joiners Arms. Theres another pub about 25 metres away called The Valley Hotel, which looks good but we never tried it.

Check in was easy, greeted by the host who showed me to the room. On the listing it stated a TV, with netflix, but there was no TV.
The room, however, like the entire home, was immaculate and the room cleaned even though I was only there two nights.
The listing doesn't clearly state it's a shared bathroom, this wasn't an issue for me as there didn't seem to be any other guests.
The shower needs maintenance as to reach any usable temperature to shower, you have to play with the dials like some sort of safecracker. It took me about 10 minutes switching between boiling hot and cold to get a good temperature.
There are two pubs next door. The noise is crazy on a sunny weekend, bring some earplugs.
You are basically staying in someone's cosy home, arrived back on Sunday to the host cooking Sunday lunch and greeted by a dog who ran up to me barking and howling, harmless enough, but they would bark at any hour when someone came in, there is no mention of dogs present, unfortunately I have an allergy to some dog hair types and this could be an issue for some other guests if they are unaware or nervous around dogs.
I just feel the listing needs a lot of updating and more clarity about what's on offer. I have three airbnb properties and update weekly.

Lovely stay in Bishopston. Comfortable, very clean, welcoming and well situated for exploring the Gower Peninsula. The hosts were very friendly, helpful and hard working offering good advice on where to eat and visit in the area. They also very kindly supplied me with fresh milk twice a day for tea and even recommended a local garage to take my car to who looked at it free of charge. A really nice trip to the Gower

Jackie is a wonderful host. Friendly helpful and warm. The room was very pleasant and clean. Tea and coffee making available. A mini fridge would be useful to keep water and milk cool. Bishopston is a great base for a solo traveller. A Co op is nearby and the local pub is a few doors down for food and drinks. I found people to be friendly and helpful. The pub is just a few doors away and closes at 11pm. I stayed during a hot spell of sunny weather which meant the outside was busy. But it quietened down soon enough after closing. This may be a consideration for those who like an early night and are light sleepers. Overall I was very happy with my stay.

Nothing quite right about this property, very poor lighting, especially bedside. Next to a noisy pub which made parking difficult, nowhere nearby to get breakfast, not much wardrobe space as used for someone else's storage. Tea cups but no teapot, so forever heating kettle. Bathroom and shower ok, but no separate toilet and it was shared by 3 rooms.

The accommodation exceeded expectations. We liked its location next to a very friendly pub and not having to use the car, being able to walk to the coastal footpaths. I stayed at Myrtle Cottage overnight before a half marathon in Gower the following morning. After a rather long drive from Bristol I was in need of a friendly face and hospitality and I was in good hands with Jackie. She made me feel very welcome and looked after, and made me a cooked breakfast early in the morning, which set me up perfectly for the day. The room was wonderful, warm and cosy, very clean, with a great en-suite bathroom.
The local pub on the corner was brilliant (thanks to Jackie for the tips on where to go), serving excellent food, and afterwards I logged on to the B&B wifi to soak up some pre-race netflix.

We had a lovely stay at Myrtle Cottage. Jackie and Russell were warm and welcoming and communicated with us before our trip asking us our arrival time and advising us of the continental breakfast provided. The room was spotless and tea/coffee facilities were provided and a cold bottle of water left outside our room on our return at night. The breakfast next day was made special by the provision of homemade jams made by Jackie. We had toast/ croissants/pain au chocolate: cereal/fruit and Jackie offered to cook us fresh scrambled egg on toast with tomato! She even put out some homemade walnut cake. The only downside was the parking accessibility. It is down an unmade road and there is only room for one car in the drive and limited parking outside with large stones to navigate! Otherwise a wonderful stay and a jacuzzi bath to boot! Fabulous! We would recommend without hesitation! Lovely, lovely couple!

Lovely warm welcome on arrival and shown all facilities ta the property. It was a last minute booking on this occasion, so did not have time to look around the area.
