drunks banging on door at 3 in morning scared us

parking small,,,bar and restaurant closed not open ,area rough,,rooms great though....nice and quite on back room apart from trains,got air fan great.....but we had a 3am wake up from some drunk girl looking for her mate ,scared us to death at 3 am,and if i didnt have the chain on door they would have been in room,as door person used key to open,,,i think it was room next door ,wife wanted to leave after breakfast,women apologized at breakfast ,,just so bad scary could not sleep after that....

Good and not so good.

This place is great on the inside but the outside is terrible.
There is just no kerb appeal. the whole of the exterior needs attention. If I was a passer by looking for a place, I probably would not give it a second look. It is only because of the internet and being able to see reviews and the interior that made it a choice. The parking is a rough area next to the hotel and limited to 6 cars at the most. However there is on street parking nearby between 6pm and 8am.
Bed very comfortable and size room is great. The indian restaurant is great. Breakfast is a little limited but adequate if you do not expect too much choice.
Overall I would still give it an 8 out of 10

It was very noisy and there were young people outside shouting, playing loud music from their cars and fights were breaking out from the bars and pubs around us of which we didn’t know were around us.x
The receptionist was quite abrupt and rude when we checked in and the next day when we went to breakfast she was there to check us in for breakfast and had the same attitude.
Parking was ridiculous! It was a tiny triangle of concrete next to the hot that could fit about 3 cars.
The best thing about our stay was the breakfast.

Great hotel but be aware of the lift

Lovely hotel, great rooms, good staff, have stayed many times. I feel that i need to mention the lift it is old, slow and doesn’t work effectively. I was on the 3rd floor and could not get the lift to stop there, i would press the correct button and it would only go to 1st or 2nd floors and I'd walk up the stairs to get to my room, for people with mobility issues this could be a problem. I spoke to a couple who told me that they got stuck in it for a short period of time. It is a fantastic hotel and i will stay again but bare the lift in mind.

I found the hotel, very lapse and not up to date. Paint peeling, wood laminate separating, had to mend the shower hose/ head with elastic bands to be able to use it. Restaurant not open although stating on booking it was!
Breakfast was small, greasy and un edible. Although coffee and toast was good. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!!

BEING WOKEN UP AT 11PM TO BE TOLD TO LEAVE AND PACK BECAUSE WE HAD SOMEONE ELSES ROOM .AFTER 3 MORE ATTEMPTS TO GET US OUT WE WERE TOLD WE COULD STAY BUT WE WERE SO UPSET WE COULNT WAIT TO LEAVE THE NEXT MORNING AFTER NOT SLEEPING IN CASE SOMEONE ELSE TOLD US WE HAD TO GO. THE KEY TO OUR ROOM WAS GIVEN TO SOME ONE ELSE AND THE ONLY THING THAR STOPPED THEM HAVING ACCESS TO OUR ROOM WAS THE SAFETY CHAIN ON THE DOOR BREAKFAST THE FOLLOWING MORNING WAS AWFUL NO VEGGIE OPTIONS AND WHAT WE HAD WAS SO MEAGRE JUST AWFUL THE STAFF IN THE DINING ROOM JUST COULDNT BE BOTHERED TO HELP US WITH DRINKS . WE WILL NEVER ADVISE ANYONE TO GO TO THAT HOTEL JUST A TRULY TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE NO APOLOGY OR COMPENSATION OFFERED FOR OUR TRAUMATIC EXPERIENCE.

The rooms are beautiful clean modern well decorated and fresh.
The breakfast is a complete letdown from the coffee machine to the cereal choices to the toaster. The cooked breakfast was cooked well but the choice of sausage was dreadful, clearly the value range. If I’d stayed more than one night I’d have gone out for breakfast and coffee. Oh and the tv didn’t work correctly.
I’d stay again for the room and the value but go out for brekkie.

Bit of a joke, leak from the ceiling, no one to report it to & costs £20 extra for just one hour late check out when the cleaners hadn’t got there anyway. Hotels.com curlier service shocking, 2 hours on the phone with no answers so don’t think I’ll bother with either again.

The hotel was excellent but an especial thanks must go to the vary friendly and helpful staff. Maisy, the receptionist was charming. Her relief - I regret I cannot remember his name, also really pleasant. I had a tight schedule, needing to get to a school 10 minutes drive away, for 07.30. Breakfast started at 07.00. Not intending to stay, I popped in for a coffee at 07.00. Staff insisted in providing a cooked breakfast very quickly which they did. Pat on the back, please, to the owners/manager.

Beautiful hotel once inside, but the outside area was disappointing. The area looks like its in the middle of a rejuvenation so hopefully that will add to the hotels appearance.the rooms were comfortable we had a suite, which was comfortable and clean. During the night we were woken up by cars revving their engines up the street.

This is a lovely hotel and the staff were all amazing from check in to check out. The restaurant is a curry house basically but the quality is excellent.
I stayed on a Saturday night and was facing onto the Main Street. The locals kept me entertained with their night out but as I had an early start it was not ideal.
The room was clean, facilities were good and everything worked.
A good choice.

We enjoyed our stay and the curry we ate was excellent. We were given free parking as our car had bikes inside which was really helpful, keeping the bikes and the car safe. Unfortunately the waitress/bar person on the Monday night was obviously very new so not very helpful. The breakfast was poor, no boiled eggs (!!) and the poached egg was over cooked and only one egg. Portion size of my partner’s full English was very small. A shame as the hotel itself was very nice. Our aircon didn’t work but we were given a fan which was good.

A hidden gem Hotel

Nice hotel located a short walk from Neath Station and car parking.
Hotel from the outside doesn’t look anything special however the inside is well finished and modern.
Room very good and spacious with modern decor finish. Option in room for shower or bath always a good choice.
Breakfast included in booking which again a good option. We ordered the Full English , both the Vegetarian and normal , and it was all cooked to order and served piping hot and well presented.
Dinner option within the hotel is an Indian restaurant which we used for ease. Again food was good and the restaurant decor very contemporary modern.
All the staff in both the hotel and restaurant very friendly and helped with all our needs.
All in all a very good hotel and great value for money , in a great location for accessibility to the larger cities within a short train journey.

Positives - staff were friendly and the room was comfortable and spacious. Had an excellent indian meal in the adjoining restaurant and a very good full breakfast.
Overall excellent value for money
Negatives - only 5 parking spaces, tiles in bathroom were damaged and door wouldn't shut (some minor repairs required). Food left in fridge and rubbish in bin from previous occupant but this was quickly dealt with once reported.
In summary apart from the parking I am sure the negatives can be rectified quite easily I would definately stay here again if visiting Neath

This hotel and restaurant could be fantastic but it has been neglected which is such a shame. The outside needs to just be cleaned up.. the sign.. the entrance. The carpets just need a good clean and little things like missing toilet roll holder, etc. unfortunately after putting the kettle on we noticed major mould floating around in the kettle and on the filter. Restaurant just need to up their service and it could be full. Just needs that but if love and care.

Receptionist was lovely... We got out in a room with a shower over the bath, which my disabled partner couldn't use. We specifically picked a room on hotels. Com that said shower and bath seperate. They had no issue moving us and it was done quickly. However 2 hours later when I get a notification from the bank saying I had been charged £62 for breakfast and a rooms change I was not impressed. 1. Noone told us I would be charged for the room change although it wasn't our fault in the first place. 2. The breakfast was NOT worth £12.95pp. Don't bother getting out of bed.
3. Hotels.com supposedly automatically charged me and there was nothing they could Do.

Not the comfiest and the noise level outside is unbelievable.

Not worth it!

Really pour service. Parking for 5 cars so when arrived was tricky to find place to park and then had to move the car in the morning but no paid parking in a close distance. The room had nice touches but really cheaply made, things around the room were broken. The restaurant food was tasty but they had not many choices of drinks and the staff was inexperienced and took me awhile to order drinks. The breakfast was absolute disappointment. Good think they allowed me to pay in the morning for it as I was going to want a refund otherwise. Breakfast was continental buffet from 7-9. I booked a table for close to 9. When I got there there was barely anything on the table - juice jug was empty, only a couple of ham and cheese, 1 croissant and the bread looked so dry and old. I’ve asked if they are going to take more out and I was told that this is it! I just walked away.

Was first time in wales and is located by the train station and all amenities. Room service was lovely too staff was very friendly and room very spacious. I was situated in the rear of the hotel and you do get the noise of trains passing but i live in a flight path so it didnt bother me all too much if anything it made me feel more relaxed lol.

Very friendly staff, contact number at reception if you needed help with anything they answerd quickly. Upgraded our room free of charge as it was a special occasion. Clean and comfortable.

Constructive criticism:
- floor in the bathroom needs to be re cemented between the tiles as it was full of gaps.
- heatinf system needs to be checked as we put it up to 28⁰ to get the room warm but i was cold at all times and no heat was coming out of the vents.

This is a hotel that although wasnt what we would have chosen had we known where it was and what it was like...the staff on reception were friendly and the room had what we needed for 1 night. We have had a street side room, which was very noisy throughout the Saturday night due street noise. Not a lot the hotel owners can about this other than fit soundproof double glazing.

We were very happy with our stay here. The room was spacious and comfortable had everything we needed, including an ensuite bathroom, a mini fridge, and a kettle with some tea and coffee provided. There was also adequate parking. The whole hotel and the room were very clean, and had a pleasant smell. The hotel also uses contact-free smart keys which were easy to use once we set up the app. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The onsite Indian restaurant was also really good. I'd definitely recommend a stay here!

Interni un po' datati sapone mancante, all'interno c'era qualcosa che sapeva più di detersivo per piatti che di sapone, porta sapone arrugginito, in compenso lo staff della reception è stato gentilissimo

Parking very tight, if a light sleeper front rooms can be noisy as there is a takeaway opposite that is really busy with clubbers.

Nice big room. Restaurant was closed on Sunday evening and although breakfast said it started at 7am when we arrived then it was not set up

Short Break at The Bluebell

A comfortable room and a helpful receptionist. We have stayed here before and it is much quieter at the back of the hotel. Just down from the hotel, there are overflowing rubbish bins which are disgusting and spoil the look of the area...this really needs sorting! It’s a shame that a continental breakfast is not included in the price.
