From the outset the reception was chaotic with lots of noisey people. I had to queue for self check-in. I queried why there was a £5 car parking charge when this hadn't been pointed out prior to my booking. I asked why this was and he said because I booked with Expedia. So be careful.
The hotel was tired and not worth the money.

Average stay , breakfast was cleared at 9 am, most hotels clear around 9:30. Your reception staff should make guests aware of this.

Good hotel. Stayed for football. a couple of miles to the ground. Arrived at 12:20. Couldn't check in. No rooms until just after 14:00. Given check out is 11:00 I found this rather irritating. I stay at a lot of other hotels and usually they can find a room. Apart from that, a good stay. I used the bar and had lunch there which was good value for money. I didn't have breakfast there. The room, 5th floor (BTW... the list was out of order so travel light!) was very comfortable.

Club room was great. Comfortable bed, good view of the port, great shower and great smart TV. Coffee machine was a nice touch and the Gym and pool package was good. Not so good was the lift not working although the staff were taking people up in the staff lift if needed. I was on the 5th floor though! The restaurant was slow, and screaming kids that the parents couldn't control! Food was good but 35 minute wait! Changing rooms were being refurbished so I was warned against using them as not secure.

Room cleaning.

Very disappointed with in house attendance. Room was not visited daily to make up bed, or wash crockery, or change towels. Informed when booking in, if we required anything done in the room, to hang label outside door. We did this and the towels were replaced, crockery was not washed, and the lights left on, when reason given for not changing towels etc was energy saving, they left lights on. The bed was left untidy also.

Placed in a room next to gym where music was playing so loudly you could hear every beat. No solution offered by staff. Went in until around 9pm and then again from 7am. Bathroom was dirty. Have stayed before but never experienced this.

Room doors are exceptionally noisy when they close. I could hear every door shutting with a bang and this kept me away most nights. Disappointed that parking and pool use hasn't included. Never encountered this before.

I have raised a complaint which has not been dealt with, there was fecal matter in the carpet of the disabled room I booked, a used earbuds and a ball of hair by the bed too. Facilities and staff were lovely however.

Amazing stay everyone so friendly we always keep going back .
Full use of facilities ! Pool and spa areas were so clean. Room was perfect. Although need bigger coffee cups 😄 and couldn't find drinking water or bottle water to buy.
Was a lot of confusion due to booking club room with Expedia check in they say have free breakfast and then get to breakfast in morning ...... £25 for two because you didn't book directly through village was a bit annoying because we'd already eaten it.
Won't stop us revisiting though just won't boo

There were a few things I could mention about my stay, but the main one that really stood out was the cost of a children’s jacket potato with beans. I genuinely wish I could include a picture of what they served—it’s hard to believe they charged £10 for it. Absolutely ludicrous. And before anyone reading this says, “Just pick something else,” this was an allergy-directed meal. It wasn’t about being picky—it was about safety.

To make things worse, the air conditioning actually made the room hotter. It ended up being a rough night’s sleep, which definitely affected the overall experience.

Brilliant stay, staff accommodation. Breakfast not very organised, no cups, milk etc. Nothing topped up or checked regularly. We had to keep asking for things but staff didn't acknowledge with a smile would just walk off and get what was needed. Not what you expect from a hotel of this standard.
Overall would stay again but unsure if we would book breakfast!

I stay in many Village hotels, unfortunately I was informed by the staff that the housekeeping only starts at 5pm! I found this very odd as that's when the majority of guests will be returning, I returned back at 3.30 and had to go back to reception to replenish my towels, tea and coffee and get someone to empty the bin, even with the door card on they still seem to think its fine to leave all rooms until 5pm which I find very strange.

Two night stay. Room was large and clean. For some reason they supplied us with 2 bath towels and ond hand towel. Not normal policy apparently when my husband queried on departure. Bar food was tasty, we didn't use the restaurant. Plenty of parking although you pay extra. I would return.

The door to room 328 is not fitted correctly, when ever someone opens another door near on the corridor (especially the fire exit door), it shakes and rattles like someone is trying to force themselves in. This woke and frightened my young daughter several times through the night. I would not stay again for this reason.

Also if I had known the pool / gym were open to the public and not just hotel residence, I would not have booked the hotel, it was far too busy.

The ladies on reception were very nice and helpful.

Nice hotel but could do better.

My room was clean but a little soulless, no glasses for drinks, no where to hang used towels in the showeroom.
I was a guest at a formal dinner at the hotel, which was ok, but were afforded little time after it to socialise with friends when we were first asked to vacate the function room and its bar, to the main bar on the ground floor, which also promptly closed, and were ushered into the foyer area bringing a dissapointiearly end to the evening.

Winners The Staff - Losers Everything else

The only winner here is the staff who were friendly on check in and very good in the “Pub” while serving food.

The room on the 3rd floor I opened and was met with a “damp” smell but put this down to the room being closed up and potentially a damp bathroom - dropped my gear and went for some food. Returned about 90 minutes later and the damp smell had not dispersed so I opened the window and let the air blow through. By around 9.30pm it was getting particulate chilly so I closed the window and the smell immediately returned - I turned on the heating which immediately shut down on start up - turned to the AC setting which blew but the damp smell became unbearable and it had to be turned off. Reported to reception who advised they couldn’t do anything about it. Went back to the room and the smell was awful. Opened the window and went to sleep in my jumper and coat. Woke up at around 4am frozen solid - on checkout I was asked if everything was okay - I advised my issues and was responded to with a very cheery “sorry about that”. Honestly for the room charge of £140 plus it was a shambles - Village Hotels are off my list

Usual hotel niggles that just annoy

Heating in the room didn't work, needed a portable fan heater which I asked for. Aircon kept thinking it had reached 23c but was more like 18c which just wasn't warm enough. Internet access was so slow it was almost unusable, I couldn't watch any YouTube videos and websites were slow to load. It started working better very late on when I assume most people were sleeping (past 11pm) and demand was lower. Average experience overall. Staff were friendly though and breakfast was ok.
