Everything was great lots of charm and perfect location. Did have an issue with room temperature for th first night as someone set the central thermostat (not located in the room) to 17 deg c but we got it resolved the next morning. Completely self check in and out with codes and cameras involved so that was really good as well.

Great location in Old Quebec! Comfortable, clean room and very nice and communicative staff. The hotel is also very quiet. The decor is sort of Victorian/Edwardian (?) antiques maybe?

There was a Nespresso machine and coffee pods in the room, in the which was lovely. If there is a vending machine in the building for snacks, I did not see it anywhere.

Things to know: no USB ports anywhere— bring all your chargers. Parking is scarce. We parked about 2 blocks away on the street.

We had an issue with our room’s door keypad & got locked out the first night. It was resolved within 20-30 minutes.

We were up for a quick getaway, and all in all we were happy with our accommodations.

The room was not ready for the early check in that I asked for. After 38 hours with no sleep, exhausted on arrival.

No water pressure for bath when I got back to the hotel with frostbitten feet the first night. Appreciated it being fixed for the second night.
Unable to get into my room on the second day there. Needed new code. Appreciated kindness of staff in getting me into my room.

Our stay was just great. I read about the self check out in advance, so I knew what to expect. When we got to the room the code I had gotten by email didn’t work, so I called the customer service number and they answered immediately, gave me the new code and problem solved so quick and they were always friendly. When I needed something I texted and they answered always fast, more than when you are in a hotel with front desk personnel. The room was clean and nice.

The room lost power overnight after a circuit tripped. There was no heat, and an electric space heater was provided before our arrival, which likely contributed to the power outage. After the outage started, we were left in the cold. In addition, there was no hot water. After speaking with other guests in the same section of the building, it was clear that issues with heating and hot water were widespread and not isolated to our room. Compounding the situation, there was no staff on site; all communication was handled virtually via text. When we requested assistance for the power outage, we were informed that it would take hours before anyone could attend. We communicated at 6:30 AM the issue through the text and when we checked out of the room at 10:45 AM, the room was still with no power. Very bad experience overall.

The hotel and rooms are stunning. However, the heater was broken in our room (during a night of -20 degrees celcius outside). We contacted the number provided, and we were told to simply turn on the heat using the nobs. After trying the nobs multiple times for about 2 hours, we contacted the staff again to let them know we still had no heat. They told us to look for a radiator on the property (which wasn't there) and that they would try to increase the internal heating. Nothing changed after that second conversation, and we essentially had to sleep in cold with all our clothes on. Quite disappointed in the lack of care or help for the customers. It's not acceptable to let us sleep in those conditions.

Even though this hotel is in a good location for experiencing Old Quebec City, I will unfortunately have to give them 1 star for their customer service alone. When I checked into the hotel I was informed that I should be leaving my snow boots by the front door in the community shoe cubby, as to not track snow/water onto the carpet and wood flooring. There was a code lock on the front door, so I thought that my shoes would be safe. Sadly, the morning we had to leave for the airport (around 3 am), they were not where I had left them less than 12 hours prior. I texted the hotel about the situation and they responded that morning that they would look into the security footage. After a day or two of me checking in for updates, I was informed that they didn't see any footage of anyone taking the shoes, so there was nothing they could do. When I asked them for some kind of compensation they doubled down, and then never responded to my last message stating that I would unfortunately have to leave a bad review. These were not cheap boots that were stolen, and because of this I had to wear my only other shoes to the airport (which were high heels), leaving my feet cold and uncomfortable.
I will also add that the hotel is obviously very old, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but prepare yourself for some older fixtures/appliances with some wear and tear. The walls are also extremely thin, so you can hear anyone in the hallway, on the staircase, and sometimes even on the floor above.

We stayed at Hôtel Le Clos Saint-Louis for five nights and overall had a pleasant stay, keeping in mind that this is a 3-star hotel.
The location is excellent, situated inside the walls of Old Québec and within easy walking distance of restaurants, shops, and major attractions.
This is a self check-in property with no staff on site. Access codes and room details are sent by text the day before arrival. While there is no on-site staff, responses to calls and texts were quick and helpful.
We stayed in Room 18 on the main floor. Despite this, the room was quiet, clean, and quite spacious. It could benefit from a small table and chairs, as there is plenty of room for them. The main drawback was the view of the back parking lot for the duration of the stay. The in-room Nespresso machine was very loud and may be nearing the end of its life.
The bathroom had a few issues: weak shower pressure, a non-functioning handheld wand, flickering light switches, and a bathroom fan that took several minutes to start.
The main sitting room fireplace had no instructions posted. When we called to ask, we were told it was not operational, which did not appear to be accurate.
A shared kitchen in the basement offers extra coffee pods, fridge, ice, toaster, microwave, and dishes. Housekeeping is provided every second day, and onsite parking is limited. A late check-out was available at an additional cost of $46.
A small seasonal note: the Christmas tree was nicely done, but more decorating elsewhere

No receptionist. Online check in was confusing and takes away from the experience. Cleaning crew do not dress professionally. They look like a bunch of homeless people who got in the hotel! There is no elevator for disabled people snd the stairs are very steep and narrow. No one to help with carrying luggage up to the 3rd or 4th floors. This hotel is not suitable for elderly people!

We've actually stayed once before at the Hotel Le Clos Saint-Louis in 2021. In fact, my now husband proposed to me in the room he had booked. It was charming and clean, with a brand new bathroom.

This stay however was not at all the same. The room we had booked was run down and old, the dining set had a very dirty chair and crumbs all over the floor. The bathroom was old and run down. We really wanted to shower after the train and we opted not to because the shower bath combination did not look good. The room was also freezing. I had requested extra blankets because I know I get cold easily. They did not supply them and there was no one at the front desk at our arrival. We barely slept as it was so cold.

This experience disappointed us, as we thought we could return here when we came back to Quebec City as a fond memory of our engagement. Unfortunately, we will not be returning based on the quality of our stay,

The location of this hotel is perfect, truly you couldn't ask for a better location and price. It is right in the middle of Old Quebec. My mom and I had a great stay, the staff was super helpful and friendly. You do have to reserve parking and we were a little confused where the parking was. However, the staff helped us immediately, which we were very grateful for. The room was lovely, the only downsize is the rooms are not sound proof. For us this wasn't an issue but if you are a light sleeper, you might want to keep this in mind.

J’ai passé un très bon séjour à l’Hôtel Le Clos Saint-Louis. L’arrivée et le départ étaient simples et rapides grâce au système de serrures à clavier, et l’endroit a énormément de charme. On a vraiment l’impression de séjourner dans une maison patrimoniale ou chez de vieux proches — chaleureux, calme et rempli de caractère.

La suite offrait d’excellentes commodités : machine Nespresso, bouilloire, télévision, baignoire massage, Wi-Fi gratuit et tous les essentiels de l’hôtel comme les serviettes, les draps et les produits de toilette. Tout était bien entretenu et les appareils étaient modernes.

Quelques petits points à améliorer : un peu de poussière sur certains meubles et coins de tapis (typique des maisons anciennes), et certaines parties du décor et des installations auraient besoin de retouches. La salle de bain était aussi assez froide durant mon séjour. L’hôtel comporte des escaliers très raides et aucune réception sur place, ce qui peut ne pas convenir à tout le monde — même si l’équipe bilingue répond très rapidement par téléphone ou message.

Le stationnement est disponible à l’arrière (environ cinq places), mais sans accès arrière et non pavé, ce qui peut être glissant en hiver.

Dans l’ensemble, un séjour charmant dans un hôtel patrimonial avec de bonnes commodités, une communication rapide et beaucoup de caractère. Un solide 4 étoiles — j’y retournerais volontiers.

I wanted to like it. Its near alot of tourist stuff. Lots of restaurants around. The idea of a \"victorian style no elevator\" hotel appealled to me. BUT...the no elevator is worse than you think. Door code wasnt working when I got there at 11pm, however it was resolved quickly. Hotel is so dark, bath tub didnt have the clog / plug, coffee machine wasnt working. I discovered that I actually like a hilton or holiday inn. The downtown abbey, victorian style is not for me. Otherwise...room was clean and I felt safe.

It was a pretty good experience. The room was beautiful with antique furniture. The location of the hotel was perfect - centrally located to everything. The only drawback was there never seemed to be any staff at the front desk ever, even though they said staff would be there like from 11 am to 1pm. They were fairly responsive via the phone I will add. When we arrived our access code didn't work. When I called they re-assigned a new code within two minutes. We needed help with our room safe when we arrived but no one showed up for about 90 mins after telling us someone would be there in 20 mins. We would still stay there again though, because the positives made up for the negatives. Parking at the property is limited, so you need to request/reserve a parking spot ahead of time.

The Hotel is quite nice, very convenient to dining and transportation. Although the hotel has no front desk or elevators it was not too difficult for us. The web site was very specific on details. The hotel relied on texting, the responses were quick and informative. We had a 1st floor room and it was spacious and comfortable. The custodial staff were very helpful. We wanted to leave our bags there before check-in. We were not sure about leaving them in the lobby, but the staff stated it was fine as there were cameras and code to enter the hotel. I do wish there was a TV cheat sheet as the screens were in French as we tried to find a sports channel.

We had the most wonderful stay here on our recent trip to Quebec City. Not knowing the area well, we booked this hotel in the old city, and the location was even better than we could have hoped for. Walking 2 minutes down the street brought us to the plaza outside of the Fairmont Hotel and the beautiful views of the river. Everything we could have needed was within a short walking distance. The hotel staff was also exceptional- helpful, kind, accommodating, and the room itself was beautiful. When we return to Quebec City, we will book here again!

The property has lots of character. A little noisy at night from bar/restaurant nearby. The slopped ceilings were a little obstacle on third floor. Banged our heads a couple of times. I am 6 foot tall.

This hotel used to be wonderful when it was family owned. Now it is owned by an impersonal chain. There is no personal reception, no concierge. You have to register online and you have to use codes to get into the hotel and the room. They have destroyed the romance of the old place. It also used to have a wonderful breakfast downstairs. No more. But it is a great location.

The rooms are beautiful and not cookie-cutter. We stayed in room 7 on the third floor. To reach it, we had to climb a steep and narrow spiral staircase. It's a little challenging while carrying suitcases. There is no elevator.
There is no front desk staff at the hotel, ever.
I would recommend this hotel for location, personality, and comfort.

This is a very lovely hotel with an old world feel that matches the surrounding area. Our room was beautifully decorated and very quiet. The parlor is so easy to spend time in reading or just visiting with friends or family. The nearby restaurants were all very delicious! We would definitely stay there again.

The hotel sitting room is nice. But our room 7 is in pretty bad shape. The interior window does not close completely, increasing street noise in the room. AC leaks water in the room. Believe the chair was moldy. Gave my wife a headache. We stopped using the AC. Bathroom exhaust fan does not work. Reported these problems on first day. They did not fix it. Tea kettle appeared to be moldy. Could not access the inside. Very difficult to walk around bed. Not enough space. TV needs to be mounted on wall. I think they should refund at least half our money.

The only downsides were that the bathroom had a bit of an odd smell (like damp clothes), the AC didn’t seem to be working so the room was quite warm.

The check-in process was a challenge. We did not receive the correct code, was given a second code that was also incorrect, and finally had to wait over 30 minutes for a staff member to come let us into the room. Shortly after this, another set of guests arrived to our room to tell us they're also supposed to stay in that room. This was eventually resolved but the check-in process could certainly be refined.

The condition of the room was okay. It is an older building so it was expected to have some older floors, walls etc. However, the bathroom was heavily damaged and then poorly patched, the window screens were broken, and the toilet was badly stained but had to visible cracks. The room did have AC which was nice and the rest of the room felt clean.

The location is hard to beat for the price and the surrounding restaurants were very good. If the check-in process was improved, the ability to pick your room, and some small bathroom renovations were done this would be a very nice hotel to stay at.

Room/bathroom were not cleaned during our 3 nights stay. No tissue in the room when we arrived, we had to get some ourserlves.

Only problem we had was finding parking. Staff courteously sent us a downloadable map which was a link to google maps or apple maps and it actually made it more complicated. Once we located the address of the hotel, all we needed to know was that parking was available directly behind the property and not send us from one street to another.

The location is excellent. We were close to everything. The air conditioning was perfect. We couldn't hear a thing and it was the right temperature. However the bathroom was very, very small. We interrupted the clean staff and they didn't come back to finish the cleaning.

I like that the respond time to my concern and issue are very quick! The room is nice and quiet.

It is NOT convenient if you arrive early and want to put your stuff there for a short period of time because there is no one guarding it.

Fabulous quaint hotel!

Our hotel room was awesome with the extra side sitting room and decor. The hotel was very close to lots of restaurants and shops as well as fun Quebec sites. The staff was excellent in responding to any questions very quickly. The only downside is lack and hard to find parking but that is the norm in Quebec. Fortunately the staff gave us several suggestions along with addresses. Would very highly recommend this hotel!

If you'd looking for an easy check in, no fuss, but fantastic hotel in the heart of Old Quebec City, this is it. No staff on site, but you can connect quickly with someone if needed. Beautiful historical building does not disappoint!

Great hotel! The rooms are amazing and well appointed. There is no front desk - not that one is needed - but there was some confusion as to whether a deposit was needed (it wasn’t). The hotel sends out some form emails that can create confusion. Luckily it all worked out. The paid parking (an Expedia perk) turned out to be impossible since the hotel has something like 5 parking spots! So parking a the closest lot was 22$ at our own cost which wasn’t too impressive given the hype about getting a perk. But overall this is still a very nice hotel.

I stayed at Hotel Le Clos once before and it was lovely. During this stay, our room was inundated with flies. They were on the windows, on the lights above our bed and in the bathroom. I called for a few days and nothing was done until the night before we were leaving. We were finally moved. We spent most of our nights sitting in the lobby until it was bedtime, which was the only time we dared to go in the room. A staff member said there might be a dead winter rat in the wall. It was so bad we tried to book a flight home a day early. Staying at this hotel totally ruined what should have been an amazing vacation.

Great hotel in the heart of Old Quebec. Can’t beat the location. Cool antique interior. We stayed 2 nights, the room was small (as expected) but we didn’t spend much time inside. The bed was comfortable, My only minor complaints are that our Nespresso pods weren’t refilled when they cleaned the room- there was only decaf left, including in the kitchen downstairs which was stocked with “extras”. The chair and one of the lamp shades in our room were badly water stained, and the mirrors were crooked.

No staff to assist with no elevator. Had to help another lady bring her luggage up to her room. AC was very poor as in our area was central air with no control. The display overall was not liked. Not good ambiance from the displays. However, great area for walking as you are in the heart of old city.
